Marotta: 'Vucinic is a Juve player' Jan 25, 2014 Juventus dg Beppe Marotta explained Mirko Vucinic is welcome to stay after his move to Inter collapsed. http://markting10.nl/ He held a tense Press conference criticising the Nerazzurri for the way they handled the affair, pulling the plug on a swap deal between Vucinic and Fredy Guarin. “I want to point out I intervened out of a respect for the truth. I always said we would only sell a player if he asked to be sold. Inter made a request, Vucinic had agreed terms, but he is now back in our squad and to all intents and purposes a Juventus player. We’ll see in future.” Guarin was an unusual target for the Bianconeri, so does that mean they are looking for another player with those characteristics? http://markting10.nl/ “It was an opportunity that was proposed to us in January, as we don’t really need to ‘fix’ any issues in the current squad,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia. “We wanted to look after our club and our player, but also give an exhaustive response to the Inter statement. Will Inter come back for Vucinic? I don’t know, but he’s back training with us and they will have to begin with a new dynamic.” Tonight Juve face Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico and Andrea Pirlo is rested in favour of Claudio Marchisio. http://markting10.nl/ “Juventus must have a whole squad full of quality who can step up whenever needed in a packed fixture list. The Coach evaluates their form and puts out the best XI for that game each time. There are no guaranteed starters at Juventus. “Marchisio is gaining in tactical and technical experience all the time, becoming a very versatile player who can cover several midfield roles. We believe in him.”

LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Lazio vs. Juventus Preview Jan 25, 2014 Serie A leaders Juventus have the chance to win a 13th straight league game when they visit Lazio on Saturday evening. http://markting10.nl/ The No. 13 might be unlucky for some, but it is unlikely to be that way for a Juve team intent on continuing their domestic dominance with a third straight Scudetto and a record-breaking 30th in total. Having been demoted from the Champions League to the Europa League, and dumped out of the Coppa Italia by title rivals, if you can call them that, Roma in midweek, Antonio Conte's side will be fired up for this one and intent on returning to winning ways, as shown by the club's official Twitter account: JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen Showdown at the Stadio Olimpico! Are you ready to get behind the lads tomorrow night? #LazioJuve #finoallafine http://markting10.nl/ Key Storylines Their form might be patchy in other competitions, but in the league, Juventus are a free-scoring beast to be in awe of. Per BBC Sport, in four of their past five matches they have scored four goals, and in the other, they netted three. When Lazio played at Juve in the second game of the league season, they conceded four goals, and they did the same a fortnight earlier in the Italian Super Cup. A similar scoreline is likely here. Juventus coach Antonio Conte has built a side capable of taking other sides apart and spreading the goals around, while keeping it watertight at the back. http://markting10.nl/ A Lazio side with a goal difference of minus-two face a tough task in keeping Fernando Llorente, Arturo Vidal, Carlos Tevez and Paul Pogba quiet as they attempt to improve their hopes of qualifying for Europe next season. However, per ESPN FC, they are unbeaten in three Serie A games and managed to get one over on Inter recently, as well as beating Udinese when they were down to 10 men, so there is hope. The return of Edy Reja as manager has instilled a gritty determination in the side, and they could make Juventus work for their points. http://markting10.nl/ Prediction: Lazio 0-3 Juventus Victory would extend Juventus' lead over second-placed Roma to 11 points, before they take on Verona on Sunday. They won't pass up on that opportunity, and Lazio are unlikely to be able to do anything to stop them. Juventus are in the habit of scoring second-half goals, eight in their past four league games, so expect a late flourish here and victory by a margin of three goals. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Remembering L'Avvocato as Juventus prepare for Lazio Jan 25, 2014 It’s been a busy week for Juventus both on and off the pitch. A loss to Roma in the Coppa Italia is all but forgotten as the team prepare to play Lazio, but off the pitch, drama reigned supreme. http://markting10.nl/ When news broke that the Bianconeri were about to close a deal with Inter to bring in Fredy Guarin and send Mirko Vucinic the other way, the fans marvelled. If completed, this would have been a spectacular accomplishment for so many reasons, both for the business and on a sporting level. Vucinic might have been the man to have inspired the squad going forward for two years now but with increased competition up top and players capable of providing consistently, he is less of an important figure, yet remains one who can still command a respectable fee. After disastrous performances by the Nerazzurri in recent games -- especially in light of their problems going forward -- they approached Juve with the idea of swapping players. The Bianconeri identified Guarin as the man they wanted, not only because he’s the player making the difference for Walter Mazzarri’s side but also because he’s young and represents ideal business sense. http://markting10.nl/ Unfortunately, the deal that would have highlighted the business acumen of Juve’s management was stopped by Erick Thohir, Inter’s new owner, after realising the disappointment of his club’s fans -- the people who clearly understood what a bad deal this would represent for them. Leaving the Bianconeri management dismayed by their unprofessional manner, it’s safe to say the relationship between Inter and the Old Lady has taken a hit. Vucinic remains a wanted asset with several clubs in England, Russia and France tracking the player, and he might well be sold to another suitor. It’s also said Inter have not given up on getting the forward, even if they cannot offer Guarin in return. Considering all that has transpired in recent days, the Montenegrin will not take part in the upcoming match against Lazio and will remain in Turin. The next game represents a new challenge for Juventus. Lazio might still have their problems -- especially when it comes to defending -- but they are more of a cohesive unit under new coach Edy Reja and look to be a more dangerous side. http://markting10.nl/ Likely to be deployed in a 3-4-2-1 formation, Reja will have to work around the many absences the team is suffering. For one youngster, a certain Luca Crecco, who made his Serie A debut in April of last season against Juventus, might even be given the chance to start. Described as a tactically intelligent pair of lungs, he plays as a full-back or further forward on the wing. Only 18 years old, Crecco is believed heavily as part of the Lazio youth talent and is eager to develop his skills further, and Juventus represent a good challenge for the boy who appears to show no fear. Interestingly, it seems Reja will opt to play two directors in the middle, perhaps because he will be forced into it due to the absences. We already saw how poorly Lucas Biglia and Cristian Ledesma performed in the Supercoppa match against Juventus in the summer -- will this be the game to prove the duo can work well together? The Biancocelesti have been training intensely for the challenge, with their coach consistently yelling at his players demanding they show their claws and improve their concentration. This will not be an easy match for the home side, which are missing key players at the back and will be coming up against a team that has managed 19 goals in their past five Serie A matches. http://markting10.nl/ For Juventus, the newspapers insist we will see a hungrier side than ever, one that is still reeling after the loss to Roma in the Coppa Italia and determined to manage their 13th consecutive Serie A win. Antonio Conte has refused to speak to the press because, he feels, he’s always misinterpreted. Therefore, he’ll make sure his players do the talking on the pitch. With Giorgio Chiellini out, it’s likely Angelo Ogbonna will take his place whilst it appears Claudio Marchisio is favoured over Andrea Pirlo in the deep-lying role. http://markting10.nl/ It’s difficult to expect anything but a win for Conte’s men, but the final note should be reserved for L’Avvocato. Gianni Agnelli passed away 11 years ago, and it remains a sad day for all supporters who will never forget what the man did for both Juventus and Italy. The patriarch of a dynasty, a symbol of good will and generosity, this man not only brought prestige to Turin’s giants but helped drive Italy’s post-war miracle, turning the country into an economic powerhouse. Today, we humbly remember L’Avvocato and the lasting impression he left on Europe and beyond -- a legacy that continues to inspire the men of Juve every day. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Juventus vs. Lazio Preview: Round 21 — Chasing Lucky No. 13 Jan 25, 2014 You want to know how long it has been since Juventus last lost a game in Serie A? Well, I was 26 years old. I'm currently 27 years old. That's how long it been. Maybe I should add to all of this that my birthday was two days after Juventus imploded and lost 4-2 to Fiorentina in Florence — thanks for the nice present, guys — but who's really counting how specific the details are? http://markting10.nl/ The fact remains that Juventus haven't lost a league game since the middle of October. To be exact, Juve last lost a Serie game on Oct. 20. That's over three months ago, ladies and gents, just in case you didn't feel like doing the quick math in your head. I think it's safe to say the eight-point lead atop the league table has been pretty well earned. Now, Juventus head back to the Stadio Olimpico in Rome for the second time in four days looking to do what they didn't accomplish against Roma in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday night — get a win. I'd say that's a pretty good idea regardless of what kind of shape Lazio is currently in. (Which is a little better under Edy Reja than the end of the Vladimir Petković era in Rome.) http://markting10.nl/ Would you like to see Juve continue their winning ways over Lazio at the Olimpico? I know I would. And it would mean that 13 isn't such an unlucky number these days. Take that, superstition! GOOD NEWS Juventus winning streak update: 12 games, 34 goals scored, 4 goals allowed. This has been a Juventus winning streak update. http://markting10.nl/ BAD NEWS Giorgio Chiellini, who picked up a yellow card in Juve's 4-2 win over Sampdoria last weekend, will miss tomorrow night's game against Lazio due to suspension. I hope he enjoys the weekend off and Angelo Ogbonna has his customary short shorts all set to go from the opening whistle. Oh, and Marco Motta is no longer available for selection following his loan move to Genoa on Thursday. Okay, so that second part isn't bad news. As you were. http://markting10.nl/ WHAT TO WATCH FOR 1. Who will be Juventus' regista, Andrea Pirlo or Claudio Marchisio? Marchisio's last start in the center of Juventus' midfield: Pretty darn successful. Pirlo last start in the center of Juventus' midfield: Not very successful. Two games, two very different outcomes — and not just on the scoreboard. Extra rest didn't do Pirlo any kind of good in the Coppa Italia loss to Roma as our favorite bearded maestro didn't exactly do much of anything. Marchisio, on the other hand, was solid as all can be against Sampdoria last Sunday. Does Antonio Conte go with Old Faithful or Il Principino? I really have no clue. He's not that shortsighted where he would basically sit Pirlo just because of what Marchisio did against Sampdoria. But if playing Marchisio as a regista during both weekend fixtures so that Pirlo would be rested for the Coppa Italia, then that isn't a bad thing at all. http://markting10.nl/ 2. The impact of one Fernando Llorente. I'm a superstitious man, okay. But there's also something behind this, so stick with me. Much like Sampdoria, Lazio are facing something different in Juventus compared to the first time this season. They're facing a Juventus team with Llorente playing from the opening whistle, not Mirko Vucinic like was the case in Round 2 and the Supercoppa. And not just Llorente, but a player who has been really, really good the past couple of games. He's scoring goals again and just contributing to just about everything Juve has done lately to put the winning streak on the cusp of hitting the teens. http://markting10.nl/ 3. The contribution coming from Juventus' wingbacks. Unlike who will be playing in the center of the midfield, there's no doubt who Conte will be writing in as starters on the right and left wing. Stephan Lichtsteiner is going to be on the right, Kwadwo Asamoah will be on the left. It's as simple as simple gets, really. If those two gentlemen play as close to as they have been in recent weeks, then I'm going to just declare right here that Juve will be in pretty good shape against Lazio. Lichtsteiner has been one of Juventus' best players since Serie A got underway again in 2014. Asamoah has been quite good lately, too. No wonder they're playing on a team that has won 12 straight games. Feel free to continue the personal and team success, gentlemen. http://markting10.nl/ 4. Can Juventus take advantage of Lazio being shorthanded? WhoScored doesn't waste time getting to what what Lazio will have to overcome against Juventus tomorrow night. Edi Reja will be without a number of players due to injury and suspensions. In total, WhoScored lists eight players who will be missing out on Juventus' visit to the Olimpico. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Mr. Reja would prefer to have things a little bit differently. Regardless of how many players may or may not be missing from Lazio's lineup, many feel like it will a tough match for the two-time defending Italian champions. I mean, if WhoScored says so, then it must be true, right? http://markting10.nl/ 5. How the Juventus defense handles the Lazio attacking trident of Antonio Candreva, Hernanes and Miroslav Klose. I like Antonio Candreva. I liked him when he was on loan at Juve and I haven't changed my opinion of him with what he's done during his time at Lazio. The same can basically be said for Hernanes, even though he hasn't been close to the kind of form when he first joined Lazio a couple years ago. We also know how good Klose can be when he's full guns blazing. Juventus' defense hasn't been so dominant lately as it was when the current winning streak got started. And I feel safe in saying that the Lazio attack is a little tougher than that of a club like, say, Livorno. My starting XI (3-5-2): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Ogbonna; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Marchisio, Pogba, Asamoah; Llorente, Tevez http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Lazio fans will be punished, fumes Lotito The Biancocelesti chief hit out at supporters who had urged the Stadio Olimpico side to let Juventus win, preventing Roma from catching up in the title race. Jan 25, 2014 Lazio president Claudio Lotito has blasted a portion of the club's fans for urging the team to lose against Juventus on Saturday. http://markting10.nl/ Defeat to the Bianconeri would deny fierce local rivals Roma the chance to close the gap on the Turin outfit at the top of Serie A, prompting Biancocelesti fans to make the case for intentional defeat on radio stations. But Lotito claims the severity of the rivalry is having a negative impact on the matchday experience at the Stadio Olimpico and threatened to punish those who called for the loss. "What the fans do will not remain unpunished," he told Tuttosport. "People must understand that football is to be enjoyed, not treated with hatred, bitterness or violence. http://markting10.nl/ "You must go to the stadium to enjoy a wonderful day and at the end the winners and losers emerge in a positive atmosphere, regardless of the result. That’s what happens in English stadiums. "Juventus also have a section of their fans who create problems. "I have always said we need football to teach and set the moral tone. Once anything was allowed, now there is zero tolerance. http://markting10.nl/ "It’s still not enough, as we must all understand that in football there are opponents, not enemies." Lazio host Antonio Conte's men on Saturday, with kick-off at 20:45CET. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

Juventus-Inter relationship at its lowest since Calciopoli after Vucinic-Guarin swap scandal The old rivals of Italian football are at each other's throats again following Erick Thohir's last-minute decision to pull the plug on their agreed deal. Jan 25, 2014 COMMENT By Kris Voakes | International Football Correspondent They’ve fallen out before and are bound to do so again, but Juventus and Inter are currently going through another rocky period in their long, turbulent relationship following the breakdown of this week’s proposed Mirko Vucinic-Fredy Guarin swap deal. http://markting10.nl/ With an agreement firmly in place and the final switch set to be given the go-ahead, Inter owner Erick Thohir made an 11th-hour decision to renege, keeping Guarin in Nerazzurri colours and leaving Vucinic stuck at Vinovo. Thohir’s claims that there was a lack of “necessary technical and financial conditions” amid rumours he questioned Vucinic's fitness drew the ire of the player's agent and of Juventus director-general Giuseppe Marotta, who delivered a tirade against Thohir and Inter in a press conference on Wednesday. It is nothing new that these clubs should find themselves on opposite sides of the trenches. They have been sworn enemies since 1961, when the FIGC awarded Inter a 2-0 Derby d’Italia victory after a pitch invasion in Turin only to reverse the decision on the eve of the season’s end, effectively handing the title to Juventus amid rumours of influence from Bianconeri chief Umberto Agnelli. http://markting10.nl/ The rearranged game went ahead, but Inter president Angelo Moratti ordered coach Helenio Herrera to send out his youth team, with Juve subsequently winning 9-1. Relations gradually improved over the ensuing years until in 1998, the rivalry sparked once more over the now-infamous flashpoint at the Stadio delle Alpi. Mark Iuliano’s foul on Ronaldo in the penalty area went unpunished and 20 seconds later Taribo West brought down Alessandro Del Piero in the opposing box. Although Del Piero missed from the spot, Juve held on for a 1-0 win that was decisive in the Scudetto race between the sides. Then, of course, there was the great Calciopoli scandal of 2006. Juventus were relegated to Serie B, suffered a nine-point deduction and were stripped of two titles amid claims they had breached sporting laws by approaching referees and delegates ahead of fixtures. http://markting10.nl/ However, the Turin club maintain to this day that Inter were behind the wiretaps which uncovered their misdemeanours and were themselves guilty of graver dealings. Their case seemed to be supported by a civil ruling in 2011, but the accusations and counter-claims will go on forever due to the statute of limitations making the whole saga a closed conversation. But just as bygones were becoming bygones once more, the bizarre collapse of the proposed swap has left the two parties at loggerheads again, with Marotta’s inflammatory words painting Thohir as a dishonest and disrespectful operator. "Inter asked us for permission to speak to Vucinic back in mid-December - that's when negotiations started,” said Marotta. “Once it became clear there was to be no money exchanged, we considered the option of a player swap.” http://markting10.nl/ From there Inter continued to tread the path towards an agreement, with Guarin and Vucinic heading in opposite directions for talks over the finer details of the transfer. It wasn’t until Thohir jumped in at the last moment that anybody realised there might be a stumbling block. Since the deal’s collapse, Inter fans have also vented their fury at the club, calling for the heads of technical director Marco Fassone and sporting director Marco Branca, the two men who were key to the initial negotiations being started. Some Interisti gathered earlier this week outside the club offices with banners asking for the removal of the "bad apples". The whole saga has left the Nerazzurri looking somewhat shambolic in their operations. As for their relationship with Juventus, that once again looks to be shot to pieces. http://markting10.nl/ "If there are to be any future negotiations, Thohir will have to offer an explanation to president Andrea Agnelli,” blasted Marotta. “But I now know better than to set up a deal with them - not for a lack of reliability, but a lack of seriousness." Just months after the heralding of a new era at Appiano Gentile, Inter are back in Juve’s bad books. While so much changes in Italian football, everything always remains the same.

LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Lotito: 'Juve are not enemies' Jan 25, 2014 Lazio face Juventus tonight and President Claudio Lotito insists they are “not our enemies,” blasting fans who want defeat so as not to favour Roma. http://markting10.nl/ It kicks off this evening at 20.45 CET at the Stadio Olimpico. The lead-up to the game has seen some Lazio supporters call up local radio stations urging the players to lose, as a Juventus defeat would favour rivals Roma in their Scudetto ambitions. It isn’t the first time some Biancocelesti fans have acted this way, as they famously unveiled a banner that read “Oh nooooo......” after Inter took the lead against Lazio at the Olimpico in a game that helped prevent Roma reach the top of the table. http://markting10.nl/ “What the fans do will not remain unpunished,” warned Lotito in Tuttosport. “People must understand that football is to be enjoyed, not treated with hatred, bitterness or violence. You must go to the stadium to enjoy a wonderful day and at the end the winners and losers emerge in a positive atmosphere, regardless of the result. That’s what happens in English stadiums. “Juventus also have a section of their fans who create problems. I have always said we need football to teach and set the moral tone. Once anything was allowed, now there is zero tolerance. It’s still not enough, as we must all understand that in football there are opponents, not enemies.” http://markting10.nl/ Lazio go into tonight’s game trying to stop Juve earning a 13th consecutive Serie A victory, but are without the banned Senad Lulic, Eddy Onazi, Stefano Mauri and injured Stefan Radu and Ederson. “We have a delicate situation in terms of absentees, but I hope the squad can give its all and prove its determination. In the past this side has already been able to do well despite difficulties, so I hope that will be the case again.” Lotito clashed several times with Juventus President Andrea Agnelli on how Italian football should proceed, but he insisted it was not a problem. http://markting10.nl/ “There were some counter-positions on the interpretation of a different political, institutional and footballing path. Good sense can help us to converge on certain issues. I also told Andrea there must not be winners and losers in the system, as if the system wins then we are all winners. “As there are so many clubs in the Lega Serie A, we need a middle road that suits everyone’s needs. For a start, we must reduce the number of teams in the top flight, otherwise we maintain a system that creates debts for all concerned.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Serie A - Match Preview Jan 24, 2014 Juventus return to the Stadio Olimpico where their Coppa Italia campaign came to an end Tuesday night against Roma. The treble dream is over for Antonio Conte's men, but the old lady are still hot on the heels of a thirteenth consecutive league success. http://markting10.nl/ Lazio are next up to stand in the Bianconeri's way of extending the momentus streak. Since Edy Reja regained control of the dugout, Lazio have looked a more confident side. This was evident when the ten men turned around a losing deficit to beat Udinese at the Friuli last Sunday. The profit Hernanes regaining some form, scored the winning goal which was his first since September. Both sides are keeping moderately quiet on the transfermarket, despite next week being the final days where transactions must be completed. Juventus loaned the pair of Paolo De Cegile and Marco Motta to Genoa, while Lazio remain to be linked with a number of players including Napoli outcast Paolo Cannavaro. Edy Reja will be missing some key assets for Saturday night's fixture. Stefan Radu, Abdoulay Konko, and Ederson are all injured, Senad Lulic and Ogenyi Onazi begin their suspensions. Conte will field Angelo Ogbonna alongside Leonardo Bonucci in defence due to Giorgio Chiellini sitting out a yellow card ban. http://markting10.nl/ Lazio haven't beaten Juventus in Serie A since 2003, eighteen games ago. Yet the Biancocelesti have tasted victory in four Coppa Italia outings in that period. While in the seventy one contests disputed at the Olimpico, Juve have triumphed on twenty nine occasions to Lazio's twenty five. Although the 4-0 defeat suffered in the Supercoppa at the start of this season is something Lazio fans will want to see avenged. Probable Lineups:. LAZIO (3-4-2-1): Marchetti; Biava, Ciani, Dias; Cavanda, Biglia, Ledesma, Crecco; Candreva, Hernanes; Klose JUVENTUS (3-5-2): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Ogbonna; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Marchisio, Pogba, Asamoah; Tevez, Llorente http://markting10.nl/ Previous Meeting: Lazio 0 - 2 Juventus (15th April 2013) Vidal 8' (P), 28' http://markting10.nl/ Author's Prediction: Lazio 1 - 1 Juventus http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Candreva Key If Lazio Are to Upset the Juve Midfield Machine Jan 24, 2014 Juventus look to bounce back from their Coppa Italia exit at the hands of Roma during the week when they travel to Lazio this weekend. Currently eight points clear of Lazio’s city-rivals Roma, Juventus can extend their Serie A winning run to 13 games with a win and are clear favourites to inflict an eighth league defeat of the season upon mid-table Lazio. Squawka preview the action with a look at the men to watch on both sides of the contest. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus’s Midfield: If Lazio are to upset the odds, then they will have to do what few teams have done this season and work out a successful way to deal with Juventus’s midfield duo of Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba. Lazio know first-hand the damage that the pair can inflict, having been on the end of a 4-1 scoreline in the return fixture that was largely inspired by Vidal. Vidal scored two goals—one of which was assisted by Pogba—and set up a third when the two sides met in August, as well as contributing six tackles in an all-action performance. Proving that it is still possible to be a box-to-box midfield player in an age where many have become specialists, Vidal’s contribution to Juventus’s season as a whole has been huge. http://markting10.nl/ A force to be reckoned with at both ends of the pitch, Vidal has won a colossal 65 tackles this season. The highest of any Juventus player this season, it is over double the 31 made by Lazio’s most frequent tackler, Lucas Biglia. Just one league goal behind the club’s top scorer Carlos Tevez, Vidal is also shouldering the goalscoring burden from midfield. He has 10 goals this season—as many as he managed in the entirety of last season—and has also provided five assists, meaning that he has scored or assisted 30 percent of the club’s league goals. http://markting10.nl/ And it isn’t as if Lazio just have Vidal to concentrate their midfield efforts on. Pogba has also enjoyed the season of his life next to Vidal, whilst the pair have the luxury of playing in front of the evergreen Andrea Pirlo. Pogba’s physicality has meant that he has formed an intimidating partnership with Vidal across the pitch. The Frenchman has six goals and four assists, but has also registered 41 tackles and 43 victories in contested headed duels. Between them Pogba and Vidal have created 99 chances this season. This impressive tally reflects the creative disparities between the two sides, that have seen Lazio create just 69 percent of the number of chances that their Turin counterparts have. http://markting10.nl/ Lazio’s Hope: Of the 194 chances that Lazio have created this season, 36 have come from the man who is likely to be key to their ambitions of avenging August’s defeat. Linked to Liverpool in recent weeks, Antonio Candreva has made more chances than any other Lazio player and has also played more passes than all of his teammates bar one. Of the 36 chances that he has created four have led to goals, whilst he is also the side’s joint-highest league scorer with five goals. As a team, Lazio have scored just 26 goals this season and, in tandem with an average goals-conceded rate of 1.4 per game, a lack of goals has been a key reason behind their mid-table position this season. http://markting10.nl/ Candreva has either scored or assisted 35 percent of their Serie A strikes this season and is likely to again prove crucial to their hopes this weekend. Deployed across a number of positions this season, Candreva has been playing on the right-hand side of midfield in recent weeks. However, he experienced joy against Juventus in the first meeting between the sides by playing a free role behind a lone striker. The heat map from that game shows that he had licence to drift across the pitch and Lazio coach Edoardo Reja could be tempted to spring a tactical surprise and allow him to do so again. http://markting10.nl/ Despite his team losing 4-1, Candreva provided five chance-creating key passes over the course of the game. He has yet to replicate such a high chance-creation rate across a single game since that game in Turin and would provide a timely boost to Lazio’s hopes should he create at a similar rate this time around. Candreva possesses the ability to take multiple players out of the game in a single run due to his skill with the ball. He has gone past his man on 56 occasions this season, the third-highest number in the league. In a game that Lazio are likely to be on the back foot for much of, Candreva’s running with the ball could provide respite and opportunity on the break, whilst his knack of being fouled could provide them with an opportunity to add to the seven set-piece goals that they have netted this season. http://markting10.nl/ Home Comforts? Lazio can draw some comfort from their home record. Whilst they have struggled away from home with just one away win from 11 attempts, their home record is impressive. They have six wins from nine home fixtures and just 29 percent of the goals that they have conceded have come at the Stadio Olimpico. http://markting10.nl/ However, they come up against a Juventus side that come into the game on the back of five consecutive away wins and are looking to extend their eight-point lead at the top of the table. The league leaders are hot favourites to bounce back from their midweek defeat at the hands of Roma and have already shown how their midfield can overwhelm Lazio. Should the mid-table side have any hope of upsetting the formbook then the talismanic Candreva is likely to provide their best hope, but they must also hope for big performances from the likes of Hernanes and Lucas Biglia in midfield if they are to successfully stifle the midfield machine that has stormed Serie A. LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Preview: Lazio vs. Juventus Jan 24, 2014 Serie A league-leaders Juventus face a tricky clash on Saturday when they visit the Italian capital to take on Lazio in the evening kickoff. http://markting10.nl/ Juve have in general blown away every side in their path this season, although they have dropped points twice on the road, and are eight points clear of Lazio's city rivals Roma at the top. Lazio's home record has kept them in the top half this season, with six wins from nine and two consecutive victories at home seeing them sit ninth currently. In terms of personnel Lazio have a lengthy absentee list, although Senad Lulic and Ogenyi Onazi return from suspension for the clash and both Antonio Candreva and Federico Marchetti are likely to play. http://markting10.nl/ For Juventus, Giorgio Chiellini is the only injury concern and is expected to miss the game. LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa MATCH PREVIEW Jan 24, 2014 Lazio are enjoying a fruitful spell under Edy Reja, but come up against a Juventus side in the midst of a long winning streak. http://markting10.nl/ Last weekend the Biancocelesti showed the type of fight previously missing under Vladimir Petkovic as they completed a comeback win over Udinese. They twice fell behind, yet even a man down managed to grab two goals in the final 10 minutes and with it all three points. Lazio have endured two miserable matches with Juve already this term. It started with a 4-0 Super Cup drubbing in the capital and continued a fortnight later as they lost 4-1. However, in recent weeks they have been on the up. Since Reja’s arrival Lazio have picked up seven points from nine and advanced in the Coppa Italia. They go into the game missing a number of players. Stefan Radu, Abdoulay Konko, Emiliano Alfaro and Ederson are injured. Ogenyi Onazi and Senad Lulic are suspended after the Udinese contest, while Stefano Mauri’s six-month ban is not quite over. http://markting10.nl/ Antonio Conte was upset at Juve’s defensive frailties, but praised the team’s attacking intent following a 4-2 win over Sampdoria. Juve came out firing with Arturo Vidal and Fernando Llorente on target early. Samp twice got back into the contest either side of a Vidal penalty and may well have equalised. Only a late Paul Pogba screamer sealed the win. That sort of performance is why Conte continually stresses the need for maximum concentration, even after a club record 12 wins in succession. Juve are back in Rome having failed to progress in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday. The Bianconeri went down by a single goal against Roma. Giorgio Chiellini sits out having reached the yellow card limit versus Samp. Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Pirlo returned to action midweek after slight knocks. http://markting10.nl/ Results are evenly split historically, although Juventus have enjoyed recent dominance in the capital. They have won 28 times to Lazio’s 24, from 69 contests. Keep an eye on: Hernanes (Lazio) – The Brazilian’s future is the source of constant speculation, while his form has proved inconsistent. Hernanes was a driving force off the bench in the comeback last weekend and scored the winner. He will aim to build on that performance. Form guide: Lazio (W L W D W) - Juventus (W W W W W) Last season: Lazio 0-2 Juventus http://markting10.nl/ Stat fact: Juventus have won six of the past eight matches in Rome. Lazio’s last triumph came back in 2002-03. Lazio (probable): Marchetti; Biava, Ciani, Dias; Cavanda, Biglia, Ledesma, Crecco; Candreva, Hernanes; Klose Juventus (probable): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Ogbonna; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Marchisio, Pogba, Asamoah; Tevez, Llorente http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Lazio-Juventus Betting Preview: Defiant Bianconeri to bounce back against Biancocelesti Antonio Conte's men are never more dangerous than after a defeat - expect them to follow up a cup loss to Roma with a victory this weekend. Jan 24, 2014 After crashing out of the Coppa Italia with a 1-0 defeat against Roma on Tuesday, Juventus will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they return to the Stadio Olimpico to take on Lazio on Saturday. http://markting10.nl/ That result brought an end to Bianconeri's 13-match winning streak in domestic competition, but they are 3/4 (1.75) favourites with William Hill to bounce back with all three points here. The visitors continued their resurgence under Edy Reja with a 3-2 away win over Udinese on Sunday despite going down to 10 men while trailing 1-0. The veteran coach is available at 19/5 (4.80) to secure yet another impressive result, this time against the champions. The visitors have not drawn a match in Serie A since mid-September, but you can get odds of 5/2 (3.50) on the sides sharing the spoils this time out. http://markting10.nl/ Roma’s cup victory on Tuesday will have been ungratefully received among Biancocelesti fans and not just because it saw their bitter local rivals book a place in the semi-finals. The hosts will now have to take on a visiting team champing at the bit to put defeat behind them, with a backlash surely inevitable. Almost every disappointing result has been followed up by a convincing league display from Antonio Conte’s men this season, defeating AC Milan and Napoli after underwhelming draws in their unsuccessful Champions League campaign and reacting to their eventual elimination by thrashing Sassuolo 4-0. http://markting10.nl/ This winning mentality is the cornerstone of Conte’s relentless success during his time at the helm and those 3/4 (1.75) odds are not to be missed on his team taking out their frustrations on a side they have beaten 4-0 and 4-1 already this season. However, with Reja having injected Lazio with a greater resilience since returning to the dugout, odds of 18/5 (4.60) are well worth considering on Juventus being forced to wait until after half-time to secure all three points, as they have in four of their last five Serie A games on the road. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Lazio-Juventus Preview: Bianconeri out to extend hoodoo over Reja's men Antonio Conte's side were dumped out of the Coppa Italia by Roma this week and will hope to banish their Stadio Olimpico demons against the Biancocelesti. Jan 24, 2014 Juventus suffered just their second domestic loss of the season at the Stadio Olimpico in midweek - and must return to the capital ground on Saturday to face Lazio. http://markting10.nl/ The Serie A leaders were beaten 1-0 by Roma in their Coppa Italia quarter-final clash on Tuesday night, a result that ended the Bianconeri's 13-match unbeaten run against Italian opposition. However, Juve have an immediate opportunity to bounce back on the same pitch this weekend, as they travel back to 'The Eternal City' hoping to extend their winning run in Serie A to 13 games. Antonio Conte's men, who are chasing a third successive league title, have responded superbly after losing at Fiorentina on October 20, taking maximum points from 12 successive fixtures to open up an eight-point advantage over Roma at the top of the table. http://markting10.nl/ The champions have dropped just five points in 20 Serie A fixtures this term - with a draw at Inter preceding their reverse at Fiorentina - and are sure to be confident of continuing that impressive form this weekend, thanks to their formidable record against Lazio. Juve have not been beaten by the Biancocelesti in Serie A since December 2003, a run of 18 matches, and have won without conceding on their last four league meetings with Lazio at the Olimpico. However, Lazio have made a strong start to life under returning coach Edy Reja, who took over from Vladimir Petkovic on January 4. http://markting10.nl/ Reja, in his second spell in charge of the club, has led the team to three wins and a draw, with Serie A victories over Inter and Udinese sandwiching a league stalemate at Bologna and a Coppa Italia win against Parma. Juve have already beaten Lazio twice this season, though, with August's 4-0 Italian Super Cup victory at the Olimpico having been followed up by a 4-1 home success in Serie A 13 days later. http://markting10.nl/ Head to Head Serie A - Aug 31, 2013 - Juventus 4 - 1 Lazio Italy Super Cup - Aug 18, 2013 - Juventus 4 - 0 Lazio Serie A - Apr 15, 2013 - Lazio 0 - 2 Juventus Coppa Italia - Jan 29, 2013 - Lazio 2 - 1 Juventus Coppa Italia - Jan 22, 2013 - Juventus 1 - 1 Lazio Last Five Matches LAZIO Jan 19, 2014 - Udinese 2 - 3 Lazio - Serie A Jan 14, 2014 - Lazio 2 - 1 Parma - Coppa Italia Jan 11, 2014 - Bologna 0 - 0 Lazio - Serie A Jan 6, 2014 - Lazio 1 - 0 FC Internazionale - Serie A Dec 22, 2013 - Hellas Verona 4 - 1 Lazio - Serie A JUVENTUS Jan 21, 2014 - Roma 1 - 0 Juventus - Coppa Italia Jan 18, 2014 - Juventus 4 - 2 Sampdoria - Serie A Jan 12, 2014 - Cagliari 1 - 4 Juventus - Serie A Jan 5, 2014 - Juventus 3 - 0 Roma - Serie A Dec 22, 2013 - Atalanta 1 - 4 Juventus - Serie A http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa No Vucinic for Lazio-Juventus Jan 24, 2014 Juventus named a 21-man squad for Saturday’s Serie A trip to Lazio without Mirko Vucinic. http://markting10.nl/ It kicks off at 20.45 CET. Giorgio Chiellini is both injured and suspended, but other than the veteran defender Antonio Conte has a full squad to choose from. Vucinic is not included, as he is still thought to be suffering the after-effects of his collapsed transfer to Inter. http://markting10.nl/ The Montenegro international had emptied out his locker on Monday, but the deal was scrapped by Inter on Tuesday after he had completed his medical. It will be their second consecutive game at the Stadio Olimpico, having lost 1-0 here to Roma in the Coppa Italia quarter-final on Tuesday night. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus squad for Lazio: Buffon, Caceres, Ogbonna, Pogba, Pepe, Marchisio, Tevez, Giovinco, Peluso, Llorente, Barzagli, Bonucci, Padoin, Pirlo, Asamoah, Vidal, Lichtsteiner, Quagliarella, Storari, Isla, Rubinho http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Reja: Juve best, but beatable Jan 24, 2014 Edy Reja has hailed Juventus as ‘the strongest team in the League’, but says Lazio won’t be facing them already defeated. http://markting10.nl/ The Aquile are unbeaten in three games but head into this weekend’s test at home to the Bianconeri struggling in terms of personnel available to them. For their Coach, the opponents also deserve respect, but the Aquile should still hold belief this weekend. “Juve are the strongest team in this League, for their individuality and organisation of their game,” Reja has told reporters today. http://markting10.nl/ “We have worked to correct some defensive flaws that were highlighted against Udinese, as Juve exploit any mistake and grant their opponents none. “We will not start with a beaten mentality, in Udine I saw a team with the right spirit and with great quality. The match must still be played. “We look to Juve with a bit of concern, because we are facing the best team in the League, but we will try to cause them problems. http://markting10.nl/ “During the week we worked well and I saw my team very focussed. We know how Juve play and we know where we can put them under pressure. “Lichtsteiner and Asamoah are skilled on the flanks so we are unsure at the moment whether it is better to press Juve or sit back. “Pogba and Vidal also make unpredictable movements so I will try to implement the most appropriate tactics to stop them.” http://markting10.nl/ Lazio have lost Ederson for the rest of the season with a thigh injury. “I am very sorry for Ederson as he has shown that he is a technically gifted player. He provided me with a few more options from the midfield up and I am sorry that he is unavailable but he is a strong guy and has great character. Hopefully he will return in six months and I will still be here.” Reja also commented on his options in defence, as it is likely he will play three at the back. http://markting10.nl/ “Konko is fine and I have some options in Crecco and Vinicius who have shown good qualities, but I will decide tomorrow. “I have said that I would like to buy two quality players in the transfer market, two that can really make a difference. The board are working to make the team more competitive. “We are still in an embryonic stage but I hope to see progress tomorrow night. There are still things that need perfecting but we are getting there slowly.” http://markting10.nl/ Finally, Reja was asked whether or not he will order his players to close down Andrea Pirlo. “Pirlo controls the whole game. He has great vision and can play balls accurate to the millimetre. We will not cage him but we have to do something to limit his play, as it is often decisive.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Conte won't give Press conference Jan 23, 2014 Antonio Conte is expected, once again, to not give a pre-match Press conference ahead of Juventus’ match with Lazio. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri Coach refused to talk to reporters before their Coppa Italia game with Roma in the week. And Calcio News have claimed that the tactician will do so again this weekend ahead of their match with the Biancocelesti. http://markting10.nl/ Conte was due to talk to the Press on Friday afternoon, but will, apparently, not turn up in protest at the way some of his comments have been reported. There has been no confirmation from Juve, but it is suggested that the tactician is angry at how remarks he made before the Old Lady’s game with Sampdoria this month were recounted. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Klose: We can take a result Jan 23, 2014 Miroslav Klose believes that ‘with a little luck’, Lazio are capable of taking at least a draw at home to Juventus this weekend. http://markting10.nl/ Saturday evening sees the Biancocelesti host the League leaders eight positions and 28 points behind them, but looking to avenge 4-0 and 4-1 defeats in the Supercoppa and League last August. It is a possibility that their German forward sees as manageable. “We do not want to concede another four goals,” Klose has affirmed today to Sky Sport Italia. http://markting10.nl/ “We must work hard in these coming days because we are convinced that we can do well. “To me, Juventus are a great team, Conte is a great tactician. “We have to win the individual battles and with a little luck we can take a draw, if not something more.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Zoff: Lazio can upset Juve Jan 23, 2014 Dino Zoff believes that a Lazio side ‘with conviction’ can counter Juventus this weekend and pick up a result. http://markting10.nl/ The Aquile play host to the Bianconeri in Week 21’s standout fixture and head into it unbeaten from their last three games. It is a situation that, according to former Juve goalkeeper and Lazio Coach Zoff, could see Edy Reja’s men pick up something positive, even if the League leaders will be looking for their own response. “Juventus will want to make up for the lacklustre performance against Roma,” the 71-year-old has begun in warning to Il Tempo today. http://markting10.nl/ “Now they are thinking back to the League and will redeploy their strongest line-up. “For Lazio it will be tough, but in the latest period they have picked up the results, healthily, and can counter against the problems Antonio Conte’s Juve will set. “Lazio may also go into this game with some absences through injury and suspension, but the XI to go out on the field will be an organic form in every respect. http://markting10.nl/ “If Lazio has conviction, I believe that they can create some real problems for Juventus. With a three-man defence [Edy Reja has returned the team to] they are much more covered and it is an ideal playing system for Hernanes. “And Hernanes’ future? He is a great player, one that can often make the difference. Lazio have a good squad, but Hernanes has that something extra that without they lack.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

Pogba price up to €70m Jan 23, 2014 Paul Pogba’s apparent price continues to rise, with reports today suggesting Paris Saint-Germain are readying a €70m assault. AMAZONIAN The Juventus midfielder has been increasingly linked this term with a future move away from Turin, with PSG seen to be leading a group of interested parties also including the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Chelsea. Today’s edition of the giornalaccio rosa dello Sport suggests that the 20-year-old’s valuation, which was set in recent months as between €50m and €60m, could actually be beaten by PSG in particular. AMAZONIAN It is alleged that the Parisian outfit are ready and willing to cough up to €70m to bring Pogba to the French capital, most likely through a summer bid. The Bianconeri, meanwhile, are seen as continuing to work to improve the youngster’s current contract.

Juventus chief Marotta: Inter owner Thohir broke his word over collapsed Vucinic-Guarin deal The Bianconeri official says he may never do business with the Nerazzurri again, claiming the Indonesian was guilty of showing a lack of respect towards the players involved. Jan 22, 2014 Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has accused Inter owner Erick Thohir of breaking his word over the proposed swap deal involving Mirko Vucinic and Fredy Guarin. http://markting10.nl/ The Colombia international appeared to be on his way to Turin on Monday in exchange for the Bianconeri's Montenegrin forward and a relatively small sum of money, believed to be in the region of €1.5 million. Inter then blocked the transfer after an angry reaction from their supporters only to then seemingly resurrect the deal before finally calling it off once and for all on Tuesday. The Nerazzurri subsequently claimed that they did not feel that the "necessary technical and financial conditions were in place" to complete the swap, but Marotta has now reacted angrily to Inter's behaviour throughout the whole affair, saying that Thohir had disrespected two decent professionals in Vucinic and Guarin. http://markting10.nl/ "This press conference was called after the statement released by Inter, which we found disconcerting," the Bianconeri director told reporters on Wednesday. "We wanted to set the record straight. "The Vucinic-Guarin deal was verbally agreed by both parties. Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli received a text from Thohir at 10:48 on Monday confirming the deal. "The main reason we called this press conference was the lack of respect shown towards two serious, professional footballers. http://markting10.nl/ "My being here is a necessary act to protect Juventus and the professionals who have been treated unfairly." Marotta also stated that there is no chance of Juve allowing Vucinic to move to the Giuseppe Meazza unless Thohir explains himself to Bianconeri supremo Agnelli. "As things stand there's no real possibility that Vucinic could join Inter," he declared. http://markting10.nl/ "Inter asked us for permission to speak to Vucinic back in mid-December - that's when negotiations started. "Once it became clear there was to be no money exchanged, we considered the option of a player swap. Vucinic is a great player. http://markting10.nl/ "If there are to be any future negotiations, Thohir will have to offer an explanation to Agnelli - beyond yesterday's statement. "But I now know better than to set up a deal with them - not for a lack of reliability, but a lack of seriousness."

Barzagli: Roma defeat will help Juventus The Italy international has admitted that the Bianconeri's cup exit is a blow, but remains confident they can win silverware this season. Jan 22, 2014 Andrea Barzagli has voiced his disappointment with Juventus' Coppa Italia elimination at the hands of Roma, but believes the 1-0 defeat will benefit them on the long term. AMAZONIAN A single Gervinho strike after 79 minutes of play ended the Serie A champions' hopes of winning their first domestic cup since 1994-95, but Barzagli remains optimistic about his side's chances of winning silverware this term. "Being eliminated hurts, but it will also help us to grow and improve as a team," the defender, 32, told reporters. "It was a very tight game, we didn’t allow them many chances but we didn’t create much ourselves either. We made one mistake. AMAZONIAN "It’s a shame that their goal came 10 minutes from the end because we didn’t have time to make a comeback. We don’t like losing and the Coppa was one of our objectives for the season, so we’re disappointed with going out. "The overall outlook remains more than positive, though. We’re doing very well in Serie A and we’ve still got the Europa League to go for."

ROMA 1 - 0 JUVENTUS Gervinho (79′) January 21, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Paolo Tagliavento Barzagli on Roma and Vucinic Jan 21, 2014 Andrea Barzagli was “disappointed” with a Coppa Italia exit to Roma and reveals Mirko Vucinic’s Juventus locker “is empty.” http://markting10.nl/ The defender spoke to RAI Sport after a 1-0 quarter-final defeat at the Stadio Olimpico. “Of course we’re disappointed to go out of the Coppa Italia, as this was one of our objectives. “What did we get wrong? The goal. We knew it would be a balanced encounter that would be decided on incidents, which in truth it was at the Juventus Stadium too. http://markting10.nl/ “We had a few chances, but the goal came late and we didn’t have time to turn it around.” Gervinho scored the winner 11 minutes from time after good work from Miralem Pjanic and Kevin Strootman. “We hesitated for a moment. When you concede, there are always a series of errors. We could’ve closed up on them earlier in the move, but Roma are so strong on these moves and we tried to prevent them going on the counter-attack. http://markting10.nl/ “Pjanic’s pass looked like it was going out, but Strootman kept it in, and then the cross found Gervinho reacting quickly to get in position. “We are doing very well this season, as we’re top in Serie A and still in the Europa League. This exit and the Champions League were painful, but will help us grow.” Antonio Conte was angry at the decision to disallow Federico Peluso’s goal, but Barzagli calmed the situation. http://markting10.nl/ “To be honest, I don’t think a player should comment on refereeing decisions. They look different on the pitch to on television. I didn’t see them, so I won’t comment.” Today has been chaotic for Barzagli’s teammate Vucinic, who was on the verge of a move to Inter in exchange for Fredy Guarin before Erick Thohir pulled the plug under pressure from fans. “He had emptied his locker. We said goodbye to Mirko and he was an integral part of two and a half fantastic years. If he returns to Vinovo then we’ll embrace him again.”

ROMA 1 - 0 JUVENTUS Gervinho (79′) January 21, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Paolo Tagliavento Daniele De Rossi: 'Roma got lucky with disallowed Juventus goal' Jan 21, 2014 Daniele De Rossi feels neither Roma nor Juventus are “particularly superior” to each other, but admits he’d have complained in their shoes. http://markting10.nl/ The 1-0 Coppa Italia quarter-final victory came just two weeks after the Giallorossi were beaten 3-0 in Turin to open up an eight-point gap at the top of the Serie A table. What changed? “The result has changed, which isn’t to be sniffed at. We had played well in the first half in Turin, but Juve did well to take an early lead and double it straight after the restart. “When games are this balanced between two great sides, a single goal can be decisive,” the midfielder told Rai Sport. http://markting10.nl/ “We focused a great deal on set plays, which was where the goals came from in Turin, and perhaps playing at home made us a little bit more aggressive. “I didn’t see Juve looking particularly superior in Turin, nor were we particularly superior here. The two teams are on a similar level and I am pleased to say that.” Federico Peluso had the ball in the net at the dawn of the second half, but the goal was not given because the linesman flagged Mauricio Isla’s cross had gone out of play. http://markting10.nl/ “It seemed ok to me on the pitch, but I honestly don’t know, as I was at a different angle to the linesman. I hope he made the right decision. If this time we were helped, then in other occasions we were penalised, so we’ll take it! “I’ll be honest, if I had been on the other team in that situation then I would’ve protested a lot, because from my position it didn’t look out of play,” confessed De Rossi. Does this victory give Roma the sense they can get back into the Scudetto race? http://markting10.nl/ “Unfortunately this win isn’t worth Serie A points, so it’s all still as it was! It’s a shame we dropped points, for example against Sassuolo, but the season is long and we can only try to win them all. I think we can do it because, apart from Juve, I believe Roma are stronger than all the other teams.” The Giallorossi will play either Napoli or Lazio in the semi-final next month and De Rossi immediately said he didn’t want a repeat of last year’s Final. http://markting10.nl/ “I prefer to face Napoli in the semi-final. To play three derbies in a week is not easy. Last season they looked more of a team, whereas this year Roma are now more solid. “Thank God, everything has returned to what it was. This time a year ago I was knocking on Walter Sabatini’s door every other day and wasn’t happy. Having not necessarily a winning campaign with Roma, but even a dignified one, is the best thing in the world for me.”

ROMA 1 - 0 JUVENTUS Gervinho (79′) January 21, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Paolo Tagliavento Conte: 'Peluso goal should've stood' Jan 21, 2014 Antonio Conte felt Juventus should not have had their goal disallowed in a “very balanced” Coppa Italia defeat to Roma. http://markting10.nl/ Gervinho got the decisive strike with 11 minutes left on the clock in tonight’s quarter-final at the Stadio Olimpico. “I think it was a very balanced encounter, that Roma scored perhaps in the moment we looked to be taking control,” the Coach told Rai Sport. “Both sides played well and studied their opponents. I am satisfied with the performance of those players who usually don’t play as much. http://markting10.nl/ “It’s a shame, as we conceded a goal during our best moment of the game. Our tactical plan was to stay solid and try to hurt Roma. We were perhaps a bit too timid in the first half, but at the same time I didn’t see us suffer particularly at the back. “An incident was decisive in a one-off game and Roma scored, whereas our goal was disallowed.” There were two incidents that Juve complained about, as Mehdi Benatia was booked for a foul on Sebastian Giovinco when the Bianconeri wanted a straight red. http://markting10.nl/ “I thought that could be considered a last man foul. I asked the Fourth Official that too. In any case, I don’t wish to comment on the referee, he made this decision and that’s all.” Federico Peluso had scored straight after the restart, but the linesman had already lifted his flag as Mauricio Isla’s cross appeared to go out of play. “In all honesty from the footage it looks like it’s in play by a metre, at least. Look at the ball and where the crossbar is, it seems to be in play. I repeat, referees can make mistakes, but it looks like it’s in and quite a bit in, at that,” said a clearly irritated Conte. http://markting10.nl/ “Looking at the reaction of the Roma players, who didn’t protest, they even look like they are blessed by the linesman lifting his flag. Maybe it’s better that it happened against us, otherwise imagine the chaos that would’ve emerged with people talking about ‘help.’ “We don’t play to go on the counter-attack, as we don’t have players of those characteristics. We always try to get the ball, keep possession and hurt our opponents, but we very rarely go on the counter. Our approach was the same that we had in Turin and we only got stretched out on the goal.” Juventus had the opportunity to win their 10th edition of the Coppa Italia, the first since 1995. http://markting10.nl/ “It’s a shame that we were elimination from a tournament. I have nothing more to ask from the lads, as in the past we always used the Coppa Italia to rotate the squad also to help the team grow in future. I need 20-22 players who are accustomed to playing at this level. “I had some positive responses and the regret remains that we conceded a goal during our best period of the game.” Conte was asked about the chaotic row with Inter over the failure of their Fredy Guarin-Mirko Vucinic exchange, but he refused to comment.
