Conte: Tevez 'deserves to be' in Argentina squad Nov 1, 2013 Juventus coach Antonio Conte backed his striker Carlos Tevez for a return to the Argentina team after learning that he has not been included in the squad for their upcoming friendlies. http://markting10.nl/ "Tevez is the class of player who deserves to go to the World Cup," Conte said of his charge during a media conference Friday. Tevez has not played for Argentina since the Americas Cup in 2011 before Alejandro Sabella took over the reins for Argentina. The 29-year-old played in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups and he was also in the Argentine team that won the gold medal at the 2004 Olympics.

PARMA - JUVENTUS November 2, 2013 - 6:00 PM Ennio Tardini Stadium — Parma Referee: Domenico Celi Parma v Juventus – Team News, Tactics, Lineups And Prediction Nov 1, 2013 The games are coming thick and fast for Juventus with Parma at the Tardini next in line. The Bianconeri will be fully aware that any points dropped might cost them dear as runaway leaders Roma have shown no signs of applying the brakes. The club celebrated their 116th anniversary this week and a win over Parma and indeed Madrid would be the perfect gift to the fans. http://markting10.nl/ Currently third in the charts, Juve are five points behind Roma. Their opponents on Saturday have recorded 3 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses to their name. Parma are not genuine contenders for a European spot and neither are they relegation candidates. The Ducali’s aim for this season will be to finish in the top half of the table and they now sit in 11th spot in Serie A. Team News and Tactical Brief PARMA Parma snatched a last gasp winner at home to Milan to only concede defeat to Genoa during midweek. While the Tardini based side are expected to finish in and around mid-table, they’ll view the loss against a struggling Genoa team as a disappointment. Roberto Donadoni’s side are definitely capable of producing an upset and with a few ex-Juventus players on board, motivation won’t particularly be an issue. http://markting10.nl/ With a 3-5-2 formation that mirrors Antonio Conte’s, you can expect a cagey match. Strength of Parma’s play comes from the tireless forays made by Jonathan Biabiany. The Frenchman was pursued by Juventus during the mercato, if rumors are to be believed and this season he’s showing just why he was so highly coveted. A goal and an assist each don’t do justice to the impact he’s had with his pace and ability. Lest we forget, Antonio Cassano is the creative fulcrum of the Ducali. Everything good in attack comes through the magical feet of FantAntonio. Cassano called the Juventus players ‘soldiers’ last season and certainly garnered controversy yet again. He’ll have a point to prove against the Bianconeri as will his strike partner, Amauri. The Italo-Brazilian suffered a lot during his stint at Juventus and was targeted by fans for his stale performances. He’s yet to break his duck this season and you can bet he’ll give it everything he can against his old side. Galloppa, Pavarini, Paletta and Okaka are on the treatment table. http://markting10.nl/ Possible Starting XI (3-5-2): Mirante; Cassani, Felipe, Lucarelli; Biabiany, Gargano, Marchionni, Parolo, Gobbi; Cassano, Amauri JUVENTUS With the tumultuous schedule that comes with European competition, Conte’s rotation policy has come into full effect. The manager will no doubt have an eye on the midweek Real Madrid game. It’s a game that could make or break their season and the importance of which cannot be stated enough. For now though, Parma stand in their way. http://markting10.nl/ Two home wins over lowly Genoa and Catania have gone a long way in restoring confidence after the Fiorentina and Madrid debacles. More importantly, they were two victories in which Juventus completely dominated; a throwback to Conte’s first season in Turin and managed to keep clean-sheets, a rare occurrence with the Old Lady these days. Andrea Barzagli was rested then and should start against Parma while Bonucci is expected to make way for Angelo Ogbonna. Conte confirmed the return of Fabio Quagliarella but remained uncertain about Stephan Lichtsteiner and Mirko Vucinic. Mauricio Isla will continue to deputize in Lichtsteiner’s expected absence. The much maligned Chilean put in two solid displays against Genoa and Catania and a good run of games may just be what he needs to impress the manager. Fernando Llorente could be a given a breather and start from the bench with Sebastian Giovinco partnering Carlos Tevez in attack. http://markting10.nl/ Possible Starting XI (3-5-2): Buffon; Barzagli, Ogbonna, Chiellini; Isla, Vidal, Pogba, Marchisio, Asamoah; Tevez, Giovinco Player To Watch Out For Claudio Marchisio (Juventus) The Prince of Turin has been a bit shy this season. Marchisio’s season has been rocky given the injury he suffered in the early stages of the campaign. With the ever improving Paul Pogba right on his heels, Marchisio’s form will naturally come under scrutiny. He’ll have the chance against Parma to open his account and find some form before Madrid come visiting. http://markting10.nl/ Prediction Parma 0-2 Juventus The priority for Juventus will be to get the job done as quickly as possible although they will be weary of Parma’s strength at home. But the Bianconeri are a team that has found their feet after stuttering a bit and should overwhelm the Ducali. The form book points in Juve’s direction though it will be interesting to see the resistance that Parma put up. PARMA - JUVENTUS November 2, 2013 - 6:00 PM Ennio Tardini Stadium — Parma Referee: Domenico Celi Parma vs. Juventus Preview: Round 11 — The calm before the storm Nov 1, 2013 I know what is happening on Tuesday. You know what is happening on Tuesday. Antonio Conte and his players know what is happening on Tuesday. All of us know what's at stake when Juventus take the Juventus Stadium field in three days against Real Madrid. http://markting10.nl/ There's just one thing: Real Madrid aren't Juve's immediate problem. Cristiano Ronaldo and his friends are just chillin' in the back of everybody's mind, waiting just a few hours to become the thing that everybody, no matter what age they are, will be talking about for three straight days. That's what the Champions League does to ya, folks. It makes you think about it...all... the ...time. HOWEVER... Juventus travel to the Tardini on Saturday evening to face Roberto Donadoni and Parma — who just so happen to have the same exact amount of points so far this season as a certain named AC Milan. Last weekend we had the game after the game. Now it's the game before the game. http://markting10.nl/ See how easy that is? I thought so. Thoughts about Real Madrid may be floating around. That's fair, and completely understandable. I mean, it's Real Madrid in a incredibly important Champions League game that could very well determine if Juve make it to the knockout stages or are bound for the Europa League. But, for the time being, Conte's eyes are cast solely on Parma. At least they say they are. If they actually are looking ahead, they certainly aren't making it seem that way. http://markting10.nl/ Then again, if anybody is choosing to talk Real Madrid over the game before Real Madrid, I'd like to think Conte would hit them over the head with a baseball bat just so they're able to reconfigure their thoughts. As cliche as it may sound, it's one game at a time for this Juve team right now with so many fixtures coming at such a rapid pace. That's good news. Now it's just time to prove their words are actually the truth. GOOD NEWS The simple numbers from Juventus' last three games: Eight goals scored, two goals allowed. Sure, Juve aren't playing Real Madrid every three or four days, but the numbers are the numbers. There are a handful of reasons why Conte's men are back to playing some good football. One of the biggest has to be Juve getting their goal differential figure back to one that resembles how the team has played on the field post-Fiorentina meltdown. http://markting10.nl/ BAD NEWS Maybe it's just a gut feeling, but I never assume playing Parma is a lock to win. Maybe I should feel like it is because Juventus are a pretty darn good team and have been getting better these last few games. But it's just one of those games over the years that has never been a sure thing — especially when it's at the Tardini. JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen Conte: Parma's a tough place to go. We've drawn twice there in the past. They're also a stronger side compared to recent seasons. #ParmaJuve See?! http://markting10.nl/ WHAT TO WATCH FOR 1. How much squad rotation there is in anticipation of Real Madrid on Tuesday. There's no denying that it's going to happen. Real Madrid is lurking a few days away and I feel safe in saying we all know the importance that comes with Tuesday night's match at Juventus Stadium. But, for now, the objective is tomorrow night against Parma. The question is this: What will the squad look like compared to the basically full-strength side that beat Cagliari 4-0 on Wednesday? The lineup will look different. To what extent, though, is still uncertain... JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen Conte: I've got a planned rotation policy in mind for every seven-game cycle we face. I won't tell you who's playing tomorrow though! Antonio, you can't tell us? Dammit. I thought we were friends... http://markting10.nl/ 2. Sebastian Giovinco against his former club. The majority of folks have a hunch that Sebastian Giovinco will get the start against Parma tomorrow. I don't disagree with them — especially since both Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente have handled the bulk of the minutes since Juve returned from the international break and there's a pretty important game in three days. Somebody is likely to be rested, and because there are still just four healthy strikers right now, Giovinco will almost certain step in for either one of them. And, according to Conte, the foot problem that has hampered Giovinco the last couple of weeks is much improved. Maybe I'm reading into it too much, but that quote from Conte's pre-game press conference sounds like Super Seba will be playing a little more than he has been come Saturday at his old stomping grounds. http://markting10.nl/ 3. The sudden resurgence of Mauricio Isla. When you reach the point where even some of your most staunch supporters are wondering whether or not you're fit for a club like Juventus, you know there's definitely something wrong. That was what came along with Isla a month or so ago. He was struggling — badly. He wasn't just playing like the Isla of last season, but one a step or two below that. The last couple of games, however, haven't been the disastrous or unimpressive version of Isla we've seen a good portion of his short Juve career. He hasn't been out-of-this-world good, but still productive on the right wing. And with Stephan Lichtsteiner still trying to regain some kind of full fitness, it seems like it's Isla's job to lose for the time being. I mean, we could have Marco Motta playing on a regular basis. Who wants that to happen? (Don't answer that.) http://markting10.nl/ 4. The always unpredictable brilliance of Antonio Cassano. It's hard to believe that Cassano is 31 years old. And it's hard to believe that, at the age of 31 and still in the prime of his career, Cassano and his immense talent is playing for a club destined for a mid-table finish rather than one challenging for a title. So is the career ark of one of the most gifted Italian strikers we've seen come through the ranks the past 15 years. Even though he's not at a big club anymore, it doesn't mean he's not productive. Don't believe, click on this link and look at the graphic. He may be filling out his jersey a little more than he did in the past, but he's still a dangerous player. Conte knows what's up. My starting XI (3-5-2): Buffon; Caceres, Ogbonna, Chiellini; Isla, Vidal, Pogba, Marchisio, De Ceglie; Tevez, Giovinco http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

PARMA - JUVENTUS November 2, 2013 - 6:00 PM Ennio Tardini Stadium — Parma Referee: Domenico Celi Three Things We’ve Learned From the Bianconeri So Far Nov 1, 2013 Two back-to-back losses have caused the frequent and unnecessary use of the word ‘crisis.’ “It’s a joke” muttered Conte, the manager clearly under the impression that his team aren’t in a situation that needs the pressing of the ‘Panic’ button. Such was the hyperbole thrown around that the media would have you believe that Conte was walking on eggshells. Lest we forget this was the same coach that not too long ago completely turned around the fortunes of Juventus. http://markting10.nl/ A bit of perspective thrown in and Juventus are third in the league, level on points with Napoli, goal difference the only dividing factor. Five points off the leaders Roma. The Giallorossi’s perfect record though perhaps shadows the start Napoli and Juventus have made to the season and that is understandable given their on the verge of making history. Below are three observations from Juventus’ season thus far: A Pressing Matter Great teams of the modern era have built their success on pressing. Closing down spaces in advanced positions, almost coercing your opponents into conceding possession has been the trademark of recent successes such as Bayern Munich and Barcelona. For two seasons, Juventus adopted the same method. Conte’s teams were renowned for their energy and ruthless hunting off the ball yet that very tactic that provided a path to success seems to have gotten lost. http://markting10.nl/ It’s that willingness to sacrifice for the team and to play for each other than separated Juventus from the rest yet it’s that very attitude that has gone missing. You can attribute the added number of competitions for this sudden departure of the ‘pressing’. Maybe Conte wants his team to play with less intensity so as to preserve a bit of fuel in the tank as they fight for honors on three fronts. That is certainly a justifiable alibi but they’re outings in the Champions League barring the game against Madrid too have lacked hunger and intensity while the results have been all too disappointing. Tactical Tweaks – Time To Embrace An Old Friend When Conte took charge at Juve, he arrived with a reputation as a stubborn manager unwilling to do away with his strict 4-2-4 formation. But that notion was quickly dispelled as Conte made the best out of the players available to him and quickly changed systems. Variations of a 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 were all employed and to good effect as was attested by their historic invincible season. http://markting10.nl/ Since the Napoli game at the San Paolo though, Conte has found faith in a 3-5-2 formation. It was a system that allowed him to field 11 of his strongest players in the squad and for a while it was the talk of the town. The 3-5-2 was tailor-made for teams in Serie A, teams that don’t necessarily play with wingers. The dearth of quality full-backs probably is responsible for most teams shifting to a back three and wing-backs. ‘You make the most of what you have’, it’s a simple mantra that managers around the peninsula have obeyed. Now Europe’s a whole different ball game. A formation with no orthodox full-backs will inevitably be exposed by continental sides who boast of fierce, flashy wingers. Bayern Munich tore Juventus apart down the flanks last seasons. It was evident that a 3-5-2 would always fall short defensively against advanced technical wingers. That need to change was recognized by Conte who spoke earlier in the week of the ineffectiveness of the 3-5-2 in Europe. http://markting10.nl/ And so he embraced an old friend. The 4-3-3 came back into his life and while the result against Madrid was less than desired, the performance was encouraging. Juventus looked solid and even when they unfortunately went a man down, they rarely looked overwhelmed. The 4-3-3 offers width that the 3-5-2 lacks and as Juventus prepare themselves for three must-win games, Conte should revisit his old acquaintance to help guide his team through. Carlos Tevez – Like Casing On A Sausage The anticipation that surrounded Tevez’s arrival was almost at zenith and the expectations were massive, add in the fabled no.10 jersey he would don and you’d hope for his sake Tevez would repay the faith shown in him. And he has done so, emphatically. The sprightly Argentina has taken no time to settle in and with a return of 6 goals in 10 games, he’s risen to become a fan favorite. Tireless energy and admirable work-rate has been the theme of his career and it’s these traits that have already made him a hit in Turin. With plenty of fire in his belly, Tevez looks content with Juventus and keeping El Apache happy ensures a determined striker that on his day can wreak havoc to any defense. http://markting10.nl/ What also works in his favor is the slow yet gradual integration of Fernando Llorente. The Spanish striker is a mountain of a man and a force that is unique in Serie A. Conte has certainly taken his time in incorporating Llorente but his decision has been warranted. Llorente is slowly but surely coming up to speed, the signs were optimistic against Madrid and Genoa. Displays against Genoa and Catania will be morale boosters but these are teams you’d expect them to defeat without much fuss. There are still plenty of sterner tests to come with their most important game of the season against Real Madrid just around the corner. Instead of playing with full bellies, that hunger and humility needs to re-emerge if they are to smile at the end of what will be a very long campaign. The recent signs will encourage Conte and if his side manage to maintain that mentality, they could be on the verge of something truly special. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

PARMA - JUVENTUS November 2, 2013 - 6:00 PM Ennio Tardini Stadium — Parma Referee: Domenico Celi How Juventus Will Line Up Against Parma Nov 1, 2013 Juventus were back to winning ways against Catania with a stunning 4-0 victory on Wednesday. http://markting10.nl/ Roma continue to march on, but the Bianconeri are hanging in there and remain just five points behind the Giallorossi. Parma pose a threat to the Old Lady this weekend after their sensational victory over Milan with Marco Parolo's last-minute golazo. Antonio Conte's slight rotation was not costly, as Paul Pogba, Andrea Barzagli and Kwadwo Asamoah sat on the bench. http://markting10.nl/ Some solid performances from Martin Caceres, Mauricio Isla and Paolo De Ceglie helped to keep squad members sharp against the Elefanti. More changes could be instilled by Conte with an eye on the Champions League encounter against Real Madrid next week. Leonardo Bonucci could swap places with Barzagli and take a rest ahead of the mouthwatering clash with Los Merengues at the Juventus Stadium. http://markting10.nl/ The ball-playing centre-back hit the headlines midweek as Italian newspaper giornalaccio rosa dello Sport reported that the player was caught speeding in his Ferrari by police, but it appeared as if there were no ramifications at Juve, as Bonucci kept his place on Wednesday. Bonucci could be kept fresh for Cristiano Ronaldo et al. next week, with Angelo Ogbonna stepping into the line-up. In the engine room, Conte continues to swap and change among his four masterful centre-midfielders and Andrea Pirlo's game time appears to have begun to be managed more carefully. http://markting10.nl/ The regista could pave the way for Pogba to step back into the side as Conte continues to search for the best possible combination from his wealth of options. The wide areas also have plenty of competition for places, and the Chilean Isla could earn another start as he gradually settles into life at Juve after his debut season was marred by injuries. Asamoah could reclaim a place, though, with De Ceglie not doing enough to hold off the Ghanaian on the left of midfield. http://markting10.nl/ The competition for places is great to see, but with their place in the knock-out phase of the Champions League in jeopardy, that extra depth might not be needed when the final months of the season come around. Fernando Llorente has been good, if not spectacular, while Fabio Quagliarella and Mirko Vucinic have been injured—both of whom could stake claims to start ahead of the Spaniard when fit. The former Athletic star is under fierce competition from Sebastian Giovinco, with Formica Atomica offering more fluidity and athleticism next to Carlos Tevez. http://markting10.nl/ Further rotation could be risky with the gap at the top already five points and Napoli level on points with them, too, but their precarious position in Europe has forced the coach's hand. Expected XI Gianluigi Buffon; Andrea Barzagli, Angelo Ogbonna, Giorgio Chiellini; Mauricio Isla, Paul Pogba, Arturo Vidal, Claudio Marchisio, Kwadwo Asamoah; Sebastian Giovinco, Carlos Tevez. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

PARMA - JUVENTUS November 2, 2013 - 6:00 PM Ennio Tardini Stadium — Parma Referee: Domenico Celi Preview: Parma vs. Juventus Nov 1, 2013 Juventus visit Parma in Serie A this weekend hoping to keep up the pressure on league leaders Roma, who are yet to drop a point. http://markting10.nl/ The Old Lady head into the game in third place, five points behind the table toppers, and level with Napoli directly above them. Antonio Conte's side thumped Catania 4-0 in their last league outing, stringing together back-to-back wins to remain in contention at the right end of the table. Parma go into the match in 11th place after slumping to a 1-0 reverse at Genoa in their last outing, failing to build on an impressive 3-2 win over AC Milan the week before. PARMA - JUVENTUS November 2, 2013 - 6:00 PM Ennio Tardini Stadium — Parma Referee: Domenico Celi Parma squad for Juve Nov 1, 2013 Roberto Donadoni has named his 23-man Parma squad for the match against Juventus on Saturday. http://markting10.nl/ The Crociati play the Bianconeri tomorrow looking for the three points that would move them up to joint seventh in the table. But they will do so without goalkeeper Nicola Pavarini, defender Gabriel Paletta, Daniele Galloppa in midfield and striker Stefano Okaka - who all miss the match through injury. http://markting10.nl/ Youth team goalkeeper Diego Rossetto has been named however, Parma squad to play Juventus: Amauri, Bajza, Benalouane, Biabiany, Cassani, Cassano, Felipe, Gargano, Gobbi, Lucarelli, Marchionni, Mendes, Mesbah, Mirante, Munari, Obi, Palladino, Parolo, Rosi, Rossetto, Sansone, Valdes. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

PARMA - JUVENTUS November 2, 2013 - 6:00 PM Ennio Tardini Stadium — Parma Referee: Domenico Celi MATCH PREVIEW Nov 1, 2013 Juventus have found form ahead of a defining week that starts with a trip to Parma. http://markting10.nl/ After defeats to Fiorentina and Real Madrid, Juventus are back to their ruthless best. Saturday's 2-0 win over Genoa was followed by a 4-0 hammering of Catania on Wednesday. “We put together two positive performances and we needed to keep two clean sheets in a row,” insisted Coach Antonio Conte. His delight at the clean sheets is understandable. Before facing Genoa, Juventus had kept just two in all competitions. http://markting10.nl/ With Carlos Tevez scoring freely - he has six in 13 - and the Bianconeri tighter defensively, seven days that include ties with Real Madrid and Napoli can be faced head on. Understandably, Conte will rotate to face Parma. Andrea Pirlo, Leonardo Bonucci and Fernando Llorente are rested, with Mauricio Isla, Angelo Ogbonna and Sebastian Giovinco - against his former club - starting. The Ducali, however, should not be underestimated. Roberto Donadoni's side save their best for the big games. A draw at Fiorentina and victory over Milan are testament to that. http://markting10.nl/ Frustrating defeats to the likes of Hellas Verona and Genoa, however, have prevented Parma from pushing on. At the Stadio Ennio Tardini, they are strong. Only Roma have left victorious. Even then, Parma at least scored - a feat no other side has managed as yet against the Giallorossi. It's a stadium where Juventus have tended to struggle. Their last victory their came in 2010. Hasan Salihamidžić was amongst the scorers in a 2-1 win. With such demanding fixtures to come, a more favourable opposition would have been welcomed. Donadoni's motivated and well drilled side guarantee an uncomfortable 90 minutes. http://markting10.nl/ Amongst his expected line-up are four former Juventini - Antonio Mirante, Mattia Cassani, Marco Marchionni and Amauri. All have a point to prove, particularly the latter. Amauri may yet to have scored, but he has attacked the new season with renewed vigour. Alongside Antonio Cassano - a frontline that Juventus tried to formulate in the past - he is part of a partnership that seems well suited. Keep an eye on: Antonio Cassano (Parma) - Had former sporting director Alessio Secco got his way, Cassano may well have been lining up for Juventus on Saturday. Parma will be glad he's not. The 31-year-old is back to his best this term. A player who thrives as a big fish in a smaller pond, Cassano fits well with the Ducali. His four goals and three assists have led to suggestion of an Azzurri return. http://markting10.nl/ Form Guide: Parma (D W L W L) Juventus (W W L W W) Last season: Parma 1-1 Juventus Stat fact: Juventus have won just once in five visits to the Stadio Ennio Tardini. PARMA (probable): Mirante; Cassani, Felipe, Lucarelli; Biabiany, Gargano, Marchionni, Parolo, Gobbi; Cassano, Amauri JUVENTUS (probable): Buffon; Barzagli, Ogbonna, Chiellini; Isla, Pogba, Vidal, Marchisio, Asamoah; Tevez, Giovinco http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

PARMA - JUVENTUS November 2, 2013 - 6:00 PM Ennio Tardini Stadium — Parma Referee: Domenico Celi Parma-Juventus Preview: Donadoni's side on a high after AC Milan heroics Marco Parolo's last-minute strike secured a 3-2 win over the Rossoneri last time out and the reigning champions have not won at Ennio Tardini since January 2010. Nov 1, 2013 Juventus go back on the road to face Parma after responding well to their first Serie A defeat of the season in their previous away match. http://markting10.nl/ Antonio Conte's men recorded convincing home wins over Genoa and Catania to undo some of the damage inflicted upon them by the 4-2 loss at Fiorentina, when they surrendered a two-goal half-time lead. That result saw the champions lose ground on Serie A leaders Roma but their overall form, which has seen them drop just five points from the 30 available, still has them in a strong position heading into Saturday's match. And their response to the setback has been impressive, with six goals scored in the previous two games without reply - while only Roma and Inter can better Juve's haul of 22 strikes this term. http://markting10.nl/ Parma's home record has bailed them out of trouble after Roberto Donadoni's charges kicked off the campaign with a four-match winless run. A three-game winning streak at the Stadio Ennio Tardini - including a dramatic 3-2 triumph over AC Milan - has lifted them to the relative safety of mid-table, but they have not beaten this weekend's visitors in the last four meetings. Parma have fared relatively well against Juve on home soil in their two most recent title-winning seasons, holding them to a goalless stalemate in the 2011-12 campaign and a 1-1 draw last term. http://markting10.nl/ Juve's last win in Parma came in January 2010, when a Paolo Castellini own goal sealed a 2-1 victory for the visitors. The hosts will look to Marco Parolo for inspiration, with the 28-year-old midfielder having scored five of their 16 league goals, including a double in the win over the Rossoneri. Neither side has any fresh injury concerns, with Fabio Quagliarella and Mirko Vucinic unlikely to return from their thigh injuries for Juventus. Carlos Tevez and Arturo Vidal - with seven and eight goals apiece in all competitions this season - will look to carry the Bianconeri threat. http://markting10.nl/ Head to Head Serie A - Jan 13, 2013 - Parma 1 - 1 Juventus Serie A - Aug 25, 2012 - Juventus 2 - 0 Parma Serie A - Feb 15, 2012 - Parma 0 - 0 Juventus Serie A - Sep 11, 2011 - Juventus 4 - 1 Parma Serie A - May 15, 2011 - Parma 1 - 0 Juventus Last Five Matches PARMA Oct 30, 2013 - Genoa 1 - 0 Parma 0 - Serie A Oct 27, 2013 - Parma 3 - 2 AC Milan - Serie A Oct 20, 2013 - Hellas Verona 3 - 2 Parma - Serie A Oct 6, 2013 - Parma 3 - 1 Sassuolo - Serie A Sep 30, 2013 - Fiorentina 2 - 2 Parma - Serie A JUVENTUS Oct 30, 2013 - Juventus 4 - 0 Catania - Serie A Oct 27, 2013 - Juventus 2 - 0 Genoa - Serie A Oct 23, 2013 - Real Madrid CF 2 - 1 Juventus - UCL Oct 20, 2013 - Fiorentina 4 - 2 Juventus - Serie A Oct 6, 2013 - Juventus 3 - 2 AC Milan - Serie A http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

London duo to offer for Pogba Nov 1, 2013 Reports in the British Press this evening suggest that Arsenal and Chelsea could test Juventus’ mettle over Paul Pogba. http://markting10.nl/ President Andrea Agnelli admitted that the club would have to listen to any big offers that came in for the France international. And the Daily Express have claimed that the Premier League sides may table bids of €45m for the 20-year-old in January. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri are in the process of offering Pogba a new deal with the side, but that won’t stop the London teams trying to lure the midfielder back to the Premier League.

PARMA - JUVENTUS November 2, 2013 - 6:00 PM Ennio Tardini Stadium — Parma Referee: Domenico Celi Donadoni expects focused Juve Nov 1, 2013 Parma boss Roberto Donadoni doesn’t feel Juventus’ Champions League tie against Real Madrid will offer his side any advantage on Saturday. http://markting10.nl/ Juve boss Antonio Conte is set to rest players ahead of Tuesday’s vital encounter, but Donadoni is expecting a strong Old Lady – no matter who plays. “They have a match against Real Madrid coming up, but they need to face us first,” the former Italy boss stated at Collecchio today. “They are having a great season. They have been the best team over the last two years as the statistics show. http://markting10.nl/ “They have such a quality squad that making changes to their side won’t harm them. But we have to think of ourselves.” Parma will go into the Tardini clash on the back of a 3-2 win over Milan and a 1-0 loss at Genoa in midweek. “We have a healthy anger right now because we did not deserve to lose at Genoa, even if we know that we need to do more. http://markting10.nl/ “We need a high level performance, expressing ourselves to the maximum right now. We’re in good shape, I made five changes on Wednesday and I think I’ll have a full squad to choose from.” Juventus are set to face former forward Amauri. “Amauri has not scored yet, but what he is showing on a daily basis in training is satisfying me. But it won’t be his game, it will be everyone’s.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

Nedved: Tevez is a phenomenon The former Ballon d'Or winner says the Argentine would have fit right in alongside him in the Bianconeri side that won back-to-back titles a decade ago. Nov 1, 2013 Juventus legend Pavel Nedved has described current fan favourite Carlos Tevez as "a phenomenon". http://markting10.nl/ The Argentine has proven a revelation since joining the Bianconeri from Manchester City in the summer, scoring six goals in his first 10 Serie A games. And Nedved has been more taken with the heart, desire and grit displayed by Tevez, "a champion" the Czech feels would have been a worthy addition to the Juve side that won back-to-back titles a decade ago. "He's a phenomenon," the former Ballon d'Or winner told Tuttosport. "For what he puts on the field, he reminds myself and Conte of our times. http://markting10.nl/ "When we got him from City, we knew we could move forward with security. Carlitos is a phenomenon; we never had any doubts about him, and the results are confirming why. "He is leader. Could he play with us in our great Juve team? Certainly: he's a champion. He's irresistible when he gets to chase the ball: he never gives up." Nedved won the Ballon d'Or in 2003, the year of Juve's second successive Scudetto.

Juventus never doubted Tevez Nov 1, 2013 Juventus director Pavel Nedved says the club were certain summer signing Carlos Tevez would be a success in Turin. http://markting10.nl/ The Argentine was netted from Manchester City for an initial €9m and the 29-year-old has caught the eye. “When we signed him we knew that we were getting a certainty,” the former midfielder told Tuttosport on Friday. “Carlitos is a phenomenon. We never had any doubts about that and the results are confirming as much.” http://markting10.nl/ The South American has netted six goals in 10 Serie A games so far this term, but Tevez doesn’t just provide the goals. “Tevez is a leader, there are traits of myself and Antonio Conte in him,” Nedved added. “He certainly could have played in our Juve. “Carlos is a champion. He is irresistible when he starts chasing after the ball – he just never gives up!”

Pirlo surpasses Del Piero in Serie A free kick ranking The influential midfielder once more confirmed his status as one of the best set-piece takers around on Wednesday evening. Oct 31, 2013 Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo has surpassed Alessandro Del Piero's tally of 22 Serie A goals from direct free kicks after taking his own figure to 23 with his successful strike in the 4-0 win over Catania on Wednesday. http://markting10.nl/ The 34-year-old has consequently moved to second place in the ranking of best free kick takers in the Italian top flight of the past 30 years, with only former Serbia international Sinisa Mihajlovic still ahead of him with 28 goals. Pirlo netted two set-pieces for Brescia in the early stages of his career, while adding three more to his tally during his time at Reggina. The influential midfielder's reputation grew during his spell at AC Milan as he converted 10 free kicks during his 10 seasons at the Rossoneri. His goal versus Catania saw him take his tally at Juventus to eight. http://markting10.nl/ PLAYER Sinisa Mihajlovic (Serbia): Roma, Sampdoria, Lazio, Inter - 28 goals Andrea Pirlo (Italy): Brescia, Inter, Reggina, AC Milan, Juventus - 23 Alessandro Del Piero (Italy): Juventus - 22 Roberto Baggio (Italy): Fiorentina, Juventus, AC Milan, Bologna, Inter, Brescia - 20 Gianfranco Zola (Italy): Napoli, Parma, Cagliari - 20 http://markting10.nl/ Former greats Roberto Baggio and Gianfranco Zola complete the top five with 20 goals each, while specialists such as Diego Maradona, Michel Platini and Alvaro Recoba are among the best free kick takers of the past 30 years too. Roma skipper Francesco Totti is the only other player who is still active in Serie A in the top 10 with 14 goals.

'Pogba will extend Juventus contract' - Marotta The Bianconeri official is confident that the young Frenchman will add years to his existing deal in Turin, with a salary increase included. Oct 31, 2012 Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that the wheels are in motion for midfielder Paul Pogba to be offered a contract extension at the club. http://markting10.nl/ The France international has emerged as one of Europe's brightest young prospects, with Bianconeri president Andrea Agnelli fuelling speculation of a possible departure by claiming the club would accept a big-money offer for the 20-year-old. However, Marotta insists that Pogba - whose current deal expires in 2016 - has no intention of leaving the Turin club, where he looks set to be offered the opportunity to extend his stay with the Scudetto holders the near future. Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, he said: "Pogba is happy at Juventus and he has no intention of leaving. http://markting10.nl/ "We will meet with the Frenchman's agents soon to extend our agreement and, at the same time, we will give him a pay-rise for his development." Marotta went on to comment on Fifa's shortlist for the Ballon d'Or and World Coach of the Year, with Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo and coach Antonio Conte among the nominations - the former of which is Serie A's solitary representative. "We are proud," he added. "We re-launched Pirlo's career and that fills us with joy. http://markting10.nl/ "As for Antonio, he is a young coach, an emerging one and the fact he is included is a motive of honour for all of us. "The omission of Arturo Vidal? The only player nomination from Serie A is our playmaker, so this shows the selection was very rigid."

JUVENTUS 4 - 0 CATANIA Arturo Vidal (26′) Andrea Pirlo (34′) Carlos Tévez (65') Leonardo Bonucci (71′) October 30, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Marco Guida Attendance: 38000 Chiellini: Juventus are back on track The defender has hailed his side's response to recent defeats and feels they are on the right path again following victories over Genoa and Catania. Oct 31, 2013 Giorgio Chiellini has voiced his satisfaction with Juventus' 4-0 Serie A win over Catania, believing the title-holders to be back on track again. http://markting10.nl/ The Turin giants briefly went through a difficult period earlier in October with a draw against Galatasaray and defeats versus Fiorentina and Real Madrid, but they have since recorded victories over Genoa and now Catania to return to winning ways, much to the delight of Chiellini. "It was important to keep a clean sheet tonight, something that shows we’re on the right track," the Italy international told reporters. "We got into too much difficulty in the opening stages of both halves, but managed to make the most of the opportunities that came our way. http://markting10.nl/ "It’s too early to speak about the league table at present, we’d prefer to think about Saturday’s clash with Parma. It’s a fundamental game as far as we’re concerned." Juventus currently sit third in the Serie A table with 25 points from 10 games. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

JUVENTUS 4 - 0 CATANIA Arturo Vidal (26′) Andrea Pirlo (34′) Carlos Tévez (65') Leonardo Bonucci (71′) October 30, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Marco Guida Attendance: 38000 Conte revels in Juventus clean sheets The 44-year-old saw his team dismantle the Rossazzurri, but it's the Bianconeri's defending which Conte has drawn most satisfaction from. Oct 31, 2013 Juventus boss Antonio Conte has expressed his happiness that his team have re-discovered their defensive solidity following the 4-0 victory over Catania in Turin on Wednesday. http://markting10.nl/ Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo fired the Bianconeri to a 2-0 half-time lead, before further strikes from Carlos Tevez and Leonardo Bonucci added gloss to the scoreline. It was the defensive aspect of his team's performance which seemingly left the biggest impression, though, as Conte revelled in watching his team keep the opposition at bay for the second successive game following the 2-0 win over Bologna. "This was our fourth game in 10 days and we’ve got another three testing encounters ahead of us," the 44-year-old told the club's official website. http://markting10.nl/ "We needed to start keeping clean sheets and have managed to do so in our previous two games." The Italian giants face a rigorous schedule in the coming weeks, with clashes against Napoli and Real Madrid, however, the two-time Scudetto winning coach is refusing to look beyond Sunday's test against Parma. He added: "Now we’ll think about one game at a time. http://markting10.nl/ "Parma is a tough venue, somewhere where Milan have recently been defeated. We’ll begin to focus on Real from Sunday onwards." Conte's men sit third-placed in Champions League Group B, seven points adrift of the Spanish giants, who they host in Turin on November 5. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

Pirlo eyes Mihajlovic record Oct 31, 2013 Andrea Pirlo is now just five free-kick goals away from equalling the Serie A record tally of Sinisa Mihajlovic. http://markting10.nl/ The Juventus ace scored his 23rd direct free-kick last night in the 4-0 win over Catania, moving one clear of former colleague Alessandro Del Piero. His last remaining target is Mihajlovic, the former Roma, Lazio, Sampdoria and Inter man who struck 28 times in the top-flight from set-pieces. http://markting10.nl/ Pirlo has scored two for Brescia, three for Reggina, 10 for Milan and last night’s was his eighth in the Division for the Old Lady. Top five free-kick scorers in Serie A: 1 Sinisa Mihajlovic (28), 2 Andrea Pirlo (23), 3 Alessandro Del Piero (22), =4 Roberto Baggio and Gianfranco Zola (20).

Chiellini’s apology to Bergessio Oct 31, 2013 Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has apologised to Gonzalo Bergessio after his tackle on the Catania man resulted in a fractured fibula. http://markting10.nl/ The Argentine picked up the break in the 4-0 loss at the Juventus Stadium on Wednesday evening. “I wanted to publicly apologise to Bergessio for that foul that caused his injury,” the Italian noted on Twitter. “I certainly made that challenge to win the ball, but he got there first and unfortunately I struck him on the leg. http://markting10.nl/ “I am really sorry and I want to wish him a speedy recovery.” While the challenge left Catania President Antonino Pulvirenti furious, the centre-forward has defended the stopper. http://markting10.nl/ “These things happen,” responded the South American via the same social media. “He didn’t do it on purpose. All is well.” Bergessio is set to be sidelined for around two or three months.

Juventus confirm Pogba will extend Oct 31, 2013 Juventus director general Beppe Marotta says the club will tighten their grip on Paul Pogba, while he’s delighted with the outfit’s Golden Ball nominations. http://markting10.nl/ The French youngster, still just 20, has been linked with a possible move away from Turin after a recent admission from President Andrea Agnelli. “Pogba is happy at Juventus and he has no intention of leaving,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia. “We will soon meet with the Frenchman’s agents to extend our agreement and, at the same time, give him a pay rise for the growth he has shown.” http://markting10.nl/ Pogba, who is in his second Turin campaign, is currently committed to the Old Lady until 2016. “If a huge offer arrived for Pogba then I don’t think, right now, we would be strong enough to resist it,” Agnelli told reporters earlier this month. “If I was to judge it from a footballers' point of view, Italy is no longer the final destination but a transit destination. http://markting10.nl/ “I am trying to think what will be of us in two or three years' time if we get a massive offer for one of the best talents we have today in Pogba.” Meanwhile, on Tuesday, it was confirmed that Andrea Pirlo and Antonio Conte were on the Ballon d’Or shortlists for Player and Coach of the Year. “We are proud,” Marotta added. “We re-launched Pirlo and that fills us with joy. http://markting10.nl/ “As for Antonio, he is a young Coach, an emerging one and the fact he is included is a motive of honour for all of us. “The omission of Arturo Vidal? The only player nomination from Serie A is our playmaker, so this shows the selection was very rigid.”

JUVENTUS 4 - 0 CATANIA Arturo Vidal (26′) Andrea Pirlo (34′) Carlos Tévez (65') Leonardo Bonucci (71′) October 30, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Marco Guida Attendance: 38000 Player Ratings Goal rates every player as Antonio Conte's side close the gap on leaders Roma to two points thanks to goals from Arturo Vidal, Andrea Pirlo, Carlos Tevez and Leonardo Bonucci. Oct 30, 2013 Juventus Gianluigi Buffon - The Juventus captain will not have many easier evenings than this and, aside from a few routine saves, he was hardly tested. Martín Cáceres - The Uruguayan defender was caught out on the odd occasion by the Catania front line but on the whole, he did a good job in Barzagli's absence. Leonardo Bonucci - Although he made the odd slip, the 26-year-old turned in an assured defensive performance and managed to score a rare goal when he swept home Giovinco's cutback from close range. Giorgio Chiellini - The commanding centre-back was solid in the tackle, dominant in the air and anticipated the danger brilliantly in order to ensure another clean sheet. Mauricio Isla - An average performance from Isla, who struggled to show the desire of De Ceglie to get forward. Was rarely beaten defensively but offered little in attack. Claudio Marchisio - His search for a first league goal of the season nearly came to an end when a thumping shot cannoned back off the woodwork. Produced some neat touches and accurate passing in the midfield. Andrea Pirlo - After a slow start, Pirlo once again pulled the strings in midfield and got on the scoresheet with a trademark free kick. Arturo Vidal - The Chilean notched his fifth league goal of the season with a fortuitous deflected effort and his determination to get from box to box helped Juventus to dominate the midfield. Paolo De Ceglie - Made a real impact in Asamoah's absence and as a result most of the Juventus attacks came down the left. His crossing with both feet was impressive. Carlos Tévez - The Argentine continued his impressive start to the season with two assists and a goal. His intelligent movement caused the Catania backline all sorts of problems. Fernando Llorente - Although he lacked a clinical edge in front of goal, his hold-up play and understanding with Tevez was a highlight for Juventus fans. http://markting10.nl/ Substitutions Marco Motta - Came on as a late substitute but did not have enough time to make a significant contribution. Paul Pogba - The France midfielder was handed a rest as he has played more minutes than any other Juventus player this season. Came on after the hour mark to add stability to the midfield. Sebastian Giovinco - The striker was unlucky not to mark his 100th Juventus appearance with a goal. His persistence and nimble footwork ensured he was a constant threat and he was the architect for Bonucci's goal. http://markting10.nl/ Catania Mariano Gonzalo Andújar - The Argentine goalkeeper was unlucky with Vidal's deflected strike though his positioning was questionable for Pirlo's free kick. Made several good saves to deny Giovinci late on. A. Rolín - Struggled to cope with the movement of Tevez and it was no surprise that he was eventually substituted. Nicola Legrottaglie - The former Juventus man could not prevent his side leaking four goals and although he turned in an impressive aerial performance, he was often caught out of position. P. Álvarez - Took the armband in Izco's absence but found himself exposed by De Ceglie down the right on numerous occasions. Norbert Gyömbér - The young Slovakian defender struggled at times with the physical presence of Llorente but showed several glimpses of his undoubted potential. Cristiano Biraghi - The on-loan Inter wide man offered no attacking threat in the first half and was duly substituted at half-time. Sergio Bernardo Almiron - The experienced Argentine found it difficult to restrict the Juventus midfield and his foolish trip on Tevez led to the second goal. Tiberio Guarente - He will miss Catania's next game against Napoli after he was foolishly dismissed when picking up a yellow card for a needless challenge on Marchisio. Gonzalo Bergessio - He worked tirelessly in a bid to create openings up front and looked effective despite the little service he was given. He combined well at times with Petkovic. Keko - He looked Catania's brightest spark going forward in the first half with his intelligence and creativity. However, he was asked to help contain De Ceglie in the second half, which limited his attacking impact. Bruno Petkovic - The 19-year-old Croatian was handed a rare start and although he looked lively, he should have repaid his coach's faith as he spurned Catania's best two chances of the game. http://markting10.nl/ Substitutions Ciro Capuano - Was introduced after the third goal in an attempt to give stability to the Catania defence but Guarente's silly red card made this task even harder. Lucas Castro - Was introduced at half-time to give the visitors an attacking impetus but he struggled to make his mark on proceedings. Maxi López - The former Barcelona striker was thrown on in an attempt to give the Catania attack a focal point and fresh legs but he lacked the required service to make an impact. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

JUVENTUS 4 - 0 CATANIA Arturo Vidal (26′) Andrea Pirlo (34′) Carlos Tévez (65') Leonardo Bonucci (71′) October 30, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Marco Guida Attendance: 38000 Another win and another clean sheet for Juventus Oct 30, 2013 Two clean sheets in a row. It was what Juventus needed and what Antonio Conte wanted. A comprehensive 4-0 victory over Catania not only signals the beauty of Juve's game but it sends a clear signal to rivals: it’s never over until the Old Lady sings. http://markting10.nl/ Over in Florence in the match between Fiorentina and Napoli, the fans held up a banner that read "Gomez not Tevez". But while their German striker sat to watch his side lose, somewhat controversially, the man they didn't want led his team to a spectacular victory. It's Tevez not Gomez... nor any other forward for that matter. The Argentine behaved like a leader and with a passionate performance and tremendous skill guided his side forward -- partaking in most passages of good play Juventus created. Accuracy was perhaps his only problem on the night but his dogged determination, willingness to drop deep to collect the ball and then source goal scoring opportunities is the reason why he's the "top player" the fans have wanted and dreamt of all summer long. Whatever reservations one may have had on the player's mentality have been firmly put to bed -- Carlos Tevez wants a win at all costs. Despite the magnificent result and the great opening few minutes, this was perhaps a less determined Juve. Asked about the difference in the level of intensity, Conte replied wisely, explaining that having played four games in 12 days, it's important to be mature and conserve energy. http://markting10.nl/ Running at 200km per hour is the definition of Juve but they must also know when to push and when to take a breath. However, whilst it's clever to avoid expending too much energy against opponents capable of surrender, it's also important Juventus rid themselves of the sloppy play and silly mistakes committed, especially earlier on in the game. Rather than take advantage of what looked like a shaky defence at times, Catania looked incapable of producing an inspired reaction. When Rolando Maran was shown the door, it was hoped his replacement Luigi De Canio would shock the team back to life -- something he hasn't been able to do yet. Barring the hard work of Gonzalo Bergessio and Keko (in the first half), few players actually fought for points. The defence produced a plethora of mistakes, the wide men rarely troubled Juve's wing-backs -- who are more than capable of succumbing to pressure -- whilst their attackers' capability to drift in and out of the game proved frustrating. It's inconceivable to think that this was the same side that had previously improved upon the number of points collected in the league year by year. Collecting 48 under Vincenzo Montella, they managed 56 points under Maran last season. Now they're occupying a relegation spot. http://markting10.nl/ Catania showed glimpses of what they can do, but psychologically they never believed in a point, let alone a win. Three matches played against the Sicilian side have resulted in three home wins for the Bianconeri. De Canio attempted to incite a positive reaction from his side when he decided to bring on Lucas Castro but whilst Bruno Petkovic and Sergio Almiron attempted to threaten Juve early in the second half, it was simply an easier option to surrender to the Old Lady's superiority. The difficulties of the Sicilian side gave Conte the perfect opportunity to test out different players and few did as well as Paolo De Ceglie. A product of the Bianconeri youth system, the player's ability to deliver an accurate cross was a breath of fresh air for the side that has been forced to tolerate imprecision from the wide areas. Paying attention to his defensive duty, his work rate and ability to whiz forward reminded the coach that in De Ceglie, he possesses a fine alternative to Kwadwo Asamoah. If only Fernando Llorente did better to capitalise on the crosses delivered. http://markting10.nl/ The Spaniard wasn't at his best but his partnership with Tevez is steadily improving as evidenced by Juve's third goal. On the upside, Juventus can instead count on another youth team product who has impressed in his recent outings. Sebastian Giovinco's forward runs threatened Real Madrid in the Champions League. His perfect finish against Milan justified Conte's decision to opt for quick feet instead of a tall head whilst tonight he once again proved his talent for pushing forward and overcoming defenders. On form both physically and psychologically, Seba can offer the side a quality no other can in this forward line. Whilst it seemed the Juve jersey burdened him with excessive pressure, the desire to prove himself has provoked stunning performances. The question is, can he continue it? Despite the fans' disinterest in the player, Conte has always believed in the pint-sized forward and he may well be an intriguing figure to select in the upcoming match against Parma -- the player's former club. Another win and a clean sheet against Roberto Donadoni's men would make it a perfect week for the Champions of Italy. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

JUVENTUS 4 - 0 CATANIA Arturo Vidal (26′) Andrea Pirlo (34′) Carlos Tévez (65') Leonardo Bonucci (71′) October 30, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Marco Guida Attendance: 38000 Initial reaction and random observations Oct 30, 2013 How do you follow up a dominating 2-0 win over Genoa? Well, with some more domination, of course. Juventus' 4-0 win over Catania on Wednesday night in Turin was exactly what you'd want to see when the top of the table meets a possible relegation contender — complete domination. http://markting10.nl/ I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting the feeling that Juventus are enjoying the fact they're finally playing in front of their hometown crowd. And luckily for Antonio Conte and his squad, they're going to be doing a lot of that before the next international break. Outside of the trip to Parma over the weekend, guess where Juventus will be playing the rest of their games before another two-week pause in the action? Yeah, that's right — Juventus Stadium. Job done, on to the next one. http://markting10.nl/ Oh, and one more thing: Anybody in the mood for some poker? Valid question. Random thoughts and observations •Leonardo Bonucci's haircut...yikes. At least he scored a goal to make up for the hair and, more importantly, the less-than-stellar performance. Now that I've got that out of my system, we can talk about the actual game. •Giorgio Chiellini, that was one hell of a game. Seemed like whenever Juve needed a shot to be blocked or a crucial tackle made, it was Giorgio coming through with it. A unnecessary yellow at the end of the game might have dampened his game a little bit, but he was absolutely vital. If only he didn't get unjustly sent off against Real Madrid a week ago... http://markting10.nl/ •How do you know Fernando Llorente is getting closer and closer to being the Fernando Llorente of old? It was a relatively quiet and subdue game for the Lion King and he still had an impact in the game — an assist and also played a role in Juve's opener. If only he had put away that header in the first half. That would have been awesome. •Andrea Pirlo's free kick was an absolute pearl. Not a bad way to celebrate your 100th game in a Juventus jersey, huh? Somebody post the gif. I want to watch that for the next hour or two. http://markting10.nl/ •Carlos Tevez keeps scoring goals. It's like every time he finds the back of the net he's giving the middle finger to the notion that some players take awhile to adjust to life in Serie A. Or something like that. Every goal that he scores, the price Juve paid for him looks more and more like an absolute steal. •When I saw Paolo De Ceglie's name in the starting lineup, I didn't really know what to expect. His playing time has been so incredibly limited this season, how he'd play would be anybody's best guess. The end product, though, was a very pleasant surprise. His crosses were dangerous, his defensive effort wasn't disastrous, and resembled a player who had been getting consistent minutes this season. Kwadwo Asamoah gave Juve a presence on the left wing against Genoa, DJ Paulino just seemed to carry it over into the win over Catania. http://markting10.nl/ •Speaking of wingbacks, Mauricio Isla was pretty solid for the second straight game. Remember when everybody never wanted to see his face again earlier this season? That was fun. •Two clean sheets in a row. Who would have thought that would happen a couple weeks ago when Juve'sdefense was playing like a bunch of buffoons? •Sebastian Giovinco has done pretty well off the bench this season. I know he's been battling a bit of an injury — Conte said he's taking painkillers before every game — and being a second-half sub is probably not the role he'd chose compared to starting on a regular basis, but he's definitely settling nicely into this super-sub deal. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
