Juventus hand Marotta new three-year deal

The chief executive has joined six other key directors from the sports
management department in agreeing fresh terms with the Italian champions.

Apr 23, 2015

Juventus have handed new three-year contracts to the club's sports management department, including chief executive Giuseppe Marotta.

The Italian champions are cruising to a fourth consecutive Serie A crown and have also reached the Coppa Italia final and the last four of the Champions League.

However, their post-season is expected to be a busy one, with Paul Pogba again likely to be linked to a host of European rivals and Carlos Tevez remaining in Boca Juniors' sights.

Marotta himself has already confirmed the club are negotiating with Palermo for striker Paulo Dybala as they look to secure an insurance policy should Tevez leave.

"We are speaking with [Palermo president Maurizio] Zamparini but the negotiations are difficult," he said of the player valued at €50m.

While the corridors of power at Juventus Stadium are sure to be hectic this summer, the men making the decisions can at least relax in the knowledge their own positions appear safe.

Sporting director Fabio Paratici, general secretary Maurizio Lombardo, first team manager Matteo Fabris, vice sporting director Federico Cherubini and youth sector chiefs Stefano Braghin and Gianluca Pessotto have also agreed new deals.

Falcao's wages a problem for Juventus, says Marotta

The Serie A champions are interested in signing the Colombia international,
but fear his wage demands could frustrate a potential deal.

Apr 24, 2015

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has acknowledged that Radamel Falcao's wages could prove to be too much of an obstacle for the Serie A champions.

The Monaco man is currently on loan at Manchester United, but the Premier League side seem unlikely to make his move permanent come the end of his temporary spell.

Juve are closely monitoring Falcao's situation and could make a move for the Colombia international if he were to become available this summer.

However, Marotta has admitted that negotiations will not be easy due to the 29-year-old's hefty wages.

"The situation with Falcao is complicated," Marotta told Sky Sports.

"His wages cannot be overlooked. At the moment, signing him seems to be a utopia."

The Juve director then went on to discuss a potential move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani and made it clear that they are unlikely to bring in the Uruguay international as PSG are not willing to sell.

"We really like Cavani, but at the moment he is not available."

Juve are in the market for a new attacker due to the ongoing uncertainty about the future of Carlos Tevez, who is being heavily linked with a return to Boca Juniors, even though the Argentine has insisted nothing has been decided as of yet.

"Boca Juniors? There is nothing happening. People talk too much," the Serie A top scorer told reporters. "I would rather enjoy this moment and focus on achieving our goals."

'Juventus in European spotlight'

May 4, 2015

Beppe Marotta welcomes Juventus' return as a European ‘protagonist’, while discussing Antonio Conte and Max Allegri.

The Bianconeri are up against Real Madrid for a highly anticipated Champions League semi-final first leg tomorrow evening, and the director general is delighted at the prospect.

“It's a wonderful opportunity, and it puts Italian football in the spotlight,” he said, in an interview with Radio Rai.

“Our football is once again a protagonist in Europe, and we want to make the very best of this chance.

“We're up against teams like Real, Bayern and Barca, who have done extremely well in these last few years. We'll take it as far as we can go.”

Marotta was also asked about the differences between Juve’s former and current Coaches, Conte and Allegri.

“I didn't expect such a conclusion after Conte left,” he said.

“We knew it was going to be a challenge, but we were driven to do well. We planned to fight to the end, that was a given.

“They have two different profiles, but both are excellent professionals who know how to manage a team, each in their own way.

“Nowadays what matters is that the group is united. When you handle a team made up of champions, you must know the right way to do that.

“Conte was tougher, Allegri is a little softer, but both were able to win.

“Today the gap between Italy and Europe is substantial. Ten years ago Italy was a country that people aspired to come to.

“When revenue is very high, your salaries can correspond to that. In the last few years Italy has been in decline, so we have to get back up.

“As a team and as a representative of Italian football we stand as intermediaries. We have a few advantages thanks to the stadium, which help us to balance our books.

“Juve took some risks in terms of investments, the club deserves credit for that.”

Pogba has not requested a transfer, says Marotta

The Juventus director has made it clear the France international could still
stay put and says they will not allow Carlos Tevez to leave this summer.

May 4, 2015

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has insisted that Paul Pogba has not requested a transfer this summer, but has admitted there is plenty of interest in the France international.

Paris Saint-Germain have already reached an initial agreement with Juve over a transfer fee of €80m, while Barcelona have also held talks with the Serie A champions over a potential deal.

Nevertheless, Marotta is adamant that Juventus will only sell on their conditions and he remains hopeful the 22-year-old will decide to stay put.

"Pogba has not demanded a transfer," Marotta told Rai.

"He is the best young player in the world and it is only normal that some of Europe's biggest clubs want to sign him.

"But Juventus are a big club as well and we are not a selling club.

"Juventus have sold very few outstanding players over the years and at the moment there are no conditions for us to put Pogba out there on the transfer market."

Marotta also had his say on the situation of Carlos Tevez amid ongoing reports that the striker is set to leave Juventus for Boca Juniors at the end of the season.

"Carlos is homesick and misses Argentina," Marotta explained.

"But he has a contract with Juventus until June 2016. There are no conditions to terminate his contract before that date."

Juventus claimed their fourth successive Serie A title at the weekend and Marotta is adamant they have now won the Scudetto 33 times, stressing that the titles they lost due to the Calciopoli scandal remain a stain they will not accept.

"Calciopoli remains an open wound for Juventus," he added.

"We have won 33 Serie A titles..."

Marotta: ‘Juve will keep Pogba’

May 7, 2015

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta says the club wants to keep Paul Pogba - ‘our goal is not to weaken the team’.

The French midfielder has been linked with clubs across Europe, with the player’s agent Mino Raiola saying this week that ‘all the big clubs are interested’.

“Our goal is not to weaken the team, but to strengthen it,” Marotta told Mediaset.

“Pogba is someone we want to keep, not sell.”

The Bianconeri are having an extraordinary season, with Serie A already won, a Coppa Italia final to play and the Champions League final within reach.

Despite this, Marotta says a new contract for Coach Massimiliano Allegri will only be discussed at the end of the season.

“He’s intelligent and capable, a winner who has won the Scudetto and reached the Coppa Italia final, he’s doing an extraordinary job.

“I’m against having a Coach who’s contract is expiring, we want to make sure there is serenity and trust, and the extension is a formal act which we’ll do when we’ve finished with our important commitments.

“After the Coppa Italia and the Champions League, that’s when we’ll meet and talk about the contract, and only then. Allegri has done an outstanding job.”

Marotta: 'Dybala yes, Cavani no'

May 7, 2015

Juventus director Beppe Marotta surprisingly insisted PSG striker Edinson Cavani “is not a target,” but confirmed Paulo Dybala.

He spoke to Rai Sport ahead of the Coppa Italia Final against Lazio.

“We met several times with Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini for Dybala. We’re down to the details and hope to conclude the deal soon.

“Cavani, however, is not a realistic target.”

This is a surprise, as several papers maintain Juventus have made Cavani their number one forward option.

Marotta focused more on tonight’s Coppa Italia Final against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.

“We are playing for history and for ourselves, as we want to crown a fantastic season, even though we’re aware the most important appointment is on June 6,” said Marotta referring to the Champions League Final with Barcelona.

“We want to give the fans another satisfaction and since Andrea Agnelli became President in 2010 we have made Juventus a reference point for everyone.

“The objective was to divulge the history of Juventus and make sure every member of the club knew what Juve meant.

“Everyone knows they must try to win always and in any circumstances, going all the way in every competition.”

Marotta Denies Juventus Negotiations Over Cavani

May 23, 2015

Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta denied reports of negotiations over Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani.

Cavani’s discomfort at PSG has been well documented now, deeming that the club have not made efforts to grant his wishes to play as a central striker. As such the Uruguayan has been linked with a move out of Ligue 1, with Juventus one of the destinations.

Reports had suggested Juventus had met and begun negotiations with Cavani over a potential transfer, which Marotta rebutted.

“Honestly there has been no progress over the transfer of Cavani… because we have not started any negotiations,” Marotta said to Sky Sport Italia.

“Cavani is a great player, yes, but he is a PSG player at this moment and so we do not believe we can begin any sort of concrete negotiations.”

Marotta: Juventus Are Interested In Neto And Khedira

May 26, 2015

Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has revealed that the Old Lady are interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira and Fiorentina goalkeeper Neto this summer.

Both players will be out of contracts with their current clubs in June and will be available on free transfers, which the Bianconeri executive admits will present very appealing opportunities for the reigning Serie A champions as they look to further strengthen the team for the 2015-16 campaign.

Marotta recently spoke to the press in Milan about Juve’s pursuit of the two talented players and also commented on the club’s wishes to keep star striker Carlos Tevez for as long as possible.

“Khedira is very interesting, but not only to us,” said the 58-year-old. “This is a good market opportunity for us and we can sign him immediately.

“We are currently taking in all the factors as we build an accurate strategy to secure him.

“Neto? Just like Khedira, he will be out of a contract. It is easier to try and get him here.

“I’ve made it no secret that I think he’s done well. This is another good opportunity for us that we will also consider later on.

“Tevez? He has a contract with us until 2016. He is a great professional and this club has a lot of respect for him.

“He controls his own fate, but we will try to keep him. After the Champions League final we will hold a meeting to address his future and have great respect for whatever decision Tevez makes.

“Our hope is that he will continue his stay with us until the end.”

Marotta confirms Khedira deal

May 30, 2015

Juventus director Beppe Marotta confirmed a deal for Sami Khedira, while they also “need” Paul Pogba.

The transfer guru spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of today’s final game of the season against Verona.

“We are very close to Khedira and will announce it officially when pen is put to paper,” confessed Marotta after this week’s medical.

The German international midfielder arrives on a free transfer, as his contract with Real Madrid expires next month.

“We moved swiftly and tenaciously because he has everything we were looking for. It is a winning group and we took the opportunity to further raise the quality level.”

With that in mind, the Bianconeri also shrug off any attempts to poach €100m rated Pogba.

“He is a player who had a positive transformation in a very short space of time. Juventus are accustomed to winning and to achieving their targets.

“Pogba is not just a valuable asset for the club, but is also a player who we need to achieve these objectives.”

Marotta 'hopes Pirlo and Tevez stay'

Jun 7, 2015

Beppe Marotta admits Andrea Pirlo and Carlos Tevez might’ve played their final games for Juventus, “but I hope not.”

The director spoke to Sky Sport Italia and Mediaset after the 3-1 Champions League Final defeat to Barcelona in Berlin.

“I compliment the squad and Coach Massimiliano Allegri, as this was the final act of an extraordinary season. We played with honour and credit against a very strong opponent.

“This group started a few years ago and reached the Champions League Final after four consecutive Scudetti. Next term we hope to do even better.”

Pirlo was in tears at the final whistle and some believe it could be goodbye ahead of a transfer to America’s MLS.

“I hope not,” said Marotta. “Andrea is an icon of Italian football and has become an icon of Juventus too. I think his tears are understandable for a player who gave us such strong emotions over the years and it’s only right he should feel those emotions too.

“Now the season is over, from tomorrow we will begin meetings with the players who are subject to transfer speculation.

“It’s not easy to replace Pirlo. We have some eclectic players like Claudio Marchisio, while Allegri is capable of finding other alternatives.

“As you know, in midfield we are in contact with Sami Khedira and I cannot announce his arrival until it is made official after certain deadlines. He’ll boost an already more than satisfying midfield.”

Another who might be moving on this summer is Tevez, who made no secret of his desire to play for Boca Juniors again.

“The desire of the player is the predominant aspect in these situations, so we’ll talk to Tevez and see what he wants to do.

“I heard his agent’s comments, we have great respect for Tevez and want to keep him. We hope he wants to remain, but we must be prepared for anything.

“He has given so much to Juventus and I hope he can continue.”

However, when it comes to Paul Pogba, Marotta shut down the speculation sparked by agent Mino Raiola.

“His position is different. Pogba has a multi-season contract, is growing year on year and we need quality players to improve the team.

“In this case, the desire of the club is predominant over that of the player. Our rapport is excellent, we don’t want to sell him, there are no negotiations and we have no intention of starting any.”

Juventus will spend big this summer - Marotta

The club are already preparing for another assault on Europe
next season following Saturday's Champions League final defeat.

Jun 7, 2015

Beppe Marotta says Juventus will spend "whatever it takes" to launch another assault on the Champions League next season following Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Barcelona.

The club struggled in Europe under Antonio Conte but have re-emerged as a force in the competition under Massimiliano Allegri this term, while winning Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

Juve have already completed the €32 million signing of Palermo forward Paulo Dybala and Marotta revealed more signings could well be on the way.

"It's a great satisfaction to have come this far, but the defeat won't stop us," said Juve's CEO. "We are ready to do whatever it takes to improve a team that's already important."

Ivan Rakitic put Barcelona 1-0 up early on in Berlin before Alvaro Morata's second half equaliser, but goals from Luis Suarez and Neymar saw the Catalans win the treble and extinguish Juve's hopes of achieving the same feat.

However, the Bianconeri had a strong case for a second half penalty after Paul Pogba went to ground following a tussle with Dani Alves, only for the referee to wave play on, and Marotta admits he felt his side were hard done to.
"Everyone saw where we started from. This season is extraordinary regardless of the result. And it was a shame because Pogba should have had a penalty - but we won't make excuses."

Defeat also means it is now 19 years since the Bianconeri last won the competition in 1996, having also tasted defeat in the 2003 final at the hands of AC Milan.

Marotta: ‘Pirlo wants to stay. Tevez…’

Jun 10, 2015

Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta assures Andrea Pirlo has not asked to leave, but is less certain on Carlos Tevez.

The pair have been linked with a move away from Turin this summer, with Tevez wanted by Atletico Madrid and Boca Juniors.

“Tevez? It’s his choice, and we’ll respect it,” Marotta told media at Juventus Museum, as the Coppa Italia and Scudetto were added.

“We can’t wait long, and the relationship is fantastic.

“As for Pirlo, he hasn’t expressed a desire to leave, that’s important. His contract runs until 2016, and we want him to stay. After he’s back from international duty he’ll let us know.

“I repeat: he hasn’t said he wants to leave.”

Marotta also gave an indication of the club’s future transfer plans, and warned fans not to expect big names.

“We’ve already signed [Paulo] Dybala and [sami] Khedira. I’ll say this to the Juventus fans: don’t expect big names.

“Juventus already have big names, we’re champions of Italy for four years running, and we reached the Champions League final.

“We’ll hold onto our players who are already decisive.”

Would those ‘decisive’ players include Alvaro Morata and Paul Pogba?

“He will remain at Juventus until 2016,” Marotta said of the former.

“The deal we signed with Real Madrid [with a 2016 and 2017 buyback clause] is clear. We’ll evaluate things in 2016.

“As for Pogba, there has been no official interest in him, and I’m convinced that Pogba wants to stay with us.

“I’ll say it again, Juve’s future project is based on keeping our best players.”

'Juventus expecting Madrid move for Vidal' - Marotta

The Bianconceri official suspects Rafael Benitez will sanction a bid
for the Chilean but the Old Lady are confident of holding onto Paul Pogba.

Jun 10, 2015

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that the Italian champions are expecting Real Madrid to make a move for midfielder Arturo Vidal.

Vidal still has two years to run on his contract with the Old Lady but has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Turin, with Manchester United having made a concerted effort to sign the Chile international after last year's World Cup.

However, Marotta believes that it is Madrid who are more likely to bid for the 28-year-old, revealing that new Blancos boss Rafael Benitez, who spent the last two seasons in Italy with Napoli, is a keen admirer of Vidal's.

"Real Madrid did not make an attempt to sign him but it is probable that Real will do this in the future because Benitez knows Arturo very well," he told reporters on Wednesday.

The Spanish side are also reportedly interested in Paul Pogba but Marotta insisted that the Scudetto holdes have no interest in cashing in on the in-demand France international.

"We do not need to sell him and I'm sure he's happy at Juventus," he stated.

Marotta did admit that the future of Carlos Tevez remains very much up in the air, with the Argentina international being courted by Atletico Madrid, but he is confident that Andrea Pirlo, who has hinted at a move overseas, will see out the final year of his contract.

"Andrea did not tell us he wants to leave Juventus, while we will decide about Tevez within 10 days," he added.

No bids for Llorente or Vidal – Juventus

Chief executive Giuseppe Marotta says the club has not received any offers
for the pair and expressed his delight with the Old Lady's summer business so far.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/10/italy/2015/07/03/13262412/-?

Jul 3, 2015

Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta says the club have not received any bids for Real Madrid targets Fernando Llorente and Arturo Vidal.

Striker Llorente was forced to play a bit-part role in Turin last season as former Madrid forward Alvaro Morata became a regular in attack, while Vidal has repeatedly been linked to the club in recent seasons.

New Blancos coach Rafa Benitez is reported to be interested in bringing the pair to the Spanish capital but while Llorente could be set for a summer move, Marotta says the club have no interest in allowing Chile international Vidal to leave.

“We have not received any offer for Llorente or Vidal,” Marotta told La giornalaccio rosa dello Sport.

“There are no ongoing negotiations for Vidal, who has been the object of desire for half of Europe."

Llorente has been targeted to bolster Madrid's attacking options after Javier Hernandez returned to Manchester United following his loan spell at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Juventus marched to their fourth straight Serie A title and the Coppa Italia last season before falling to Barcelona in the Champions League final.

Carlos Tevez has since departed for Boca Juniors, but Marotta says he is delighted with the business the club has carried out this summer following the arrivals of Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala, Sami Khedira, Simone Zaza and Daniele Rugani.

“We moved in good time, anticipating the competition, and gained some important players,” Marotta said.

“We lack nothing, the team is complete and ensures another year at a very high level, with some eclectic options that allow the coach a lot of opportunities to rotate the squad.”

Juve 'will reject Pogba offers'

http://www.football-italia.net/68651/juve-will-reject-pogba-offers?

Jul 3, 2015

Juventus “will reject all offers” for Paul Pogba, find Juan Cuadrado “interesting” and deny involvement in the Mo Salah saga.

Director general Beppe Marotta spoke to Radio Sportiva about the transfer campaign so far.

“We’ve already done very well, as the squad is complete and competitive to win. From now on we’ll only go on to the market to take advantage of big opportunities we find.”

The Bianconeri turned down a €80m offer for Pogba from Barcelona, while Chelsea and Manchester City are also still interested.

“Pogba is an important element for the consolidation of the club. We will reject all offers,” continued Marotta.

“Cuadrado? He is a Chelsea player, an interesting player, but not ours. That is all I will say on the matter.”

Inter and Juve were tracking Salah, who has told Fiorentina he won’t stay with the Viola in order to join another Serie A club.

“We have nothing to do with it. These are unpleasant situations that have always happened.”

Marotta 'open to Cuadrado'

http://www.football-italia.net/68659/marotta-open-cuadrado?

Jul 3, 2015

Juventus chief Beppe Marotta claims Mohamed Salah and Stevan Jovetic will join Inter, while they are “open to Juan Cuadrado on loan.”

The Bianconeri director spoke to Mediaset Premium Sport about their links to Chelsea winger Salah and Manchester City forward Jovetic.

“We have not moved for them and are not among the contenders. They will play for a team that wears stripes in a stadium in Milan.”

While that description would also fit Milan, the clear implication is that Inter are due to sign both of those players.

When it comes to Chelsea’s Cuadrado, Marotta is considerably more optimistic.

“We are open to all possibilities. If Chelsea were open to releasing him on loan, we’d be very happy with that.”

However, Paul Pogba is locked down despite proposals from Barcelona, Manchester City, Chelsea and PSG.

“I could repeat myself and keep saying the same things. Pogba is an excellent young player and has attracted many clubs, but Juventus are not accustomed to selling its best players and wants to keep Pogba.

“It was painful to lose Carlos Tevez and Andrea Pirlo, but we allowed them to follow what they wanted. Replacing them is difficult. We’ve signed Paulo Dybala, Sami Khedira and a youngster like Daniele Rugani, while we’re about to make Simone Zaza’s arrival official.

“The transfer window has just opened and we are at the window for eventual opportunities, but haven’t achieved all our objectives yet.”

Marotta: ‘Juventus mercato over’

http://www.football-italia.net/68789/marotta-%E2%80%98juventus-mercato-over%E2%80%99?

Jul 6, 2015

Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta says the club’s transfer campaign is ‘closed’, and won’t sell Arturo Vidal or Paul Pogba.

The director spoke briefly at a Press conference to announce the renewals of Coach Massimiliano Allegri and midfielder Claudio Marchisio, and confirmed there would be no further activity.

“We moved before other clubs for our main objectives,” Marotta said.

“The transfer market [for us] closes here today. The squad is competitive, there are two players for every position, so we think it’s competitive.

“The Vidal talk is just rumours, we have a good relationship with Real [Madrid, linked with the player], but these rumours are utopian.

“As for Pogba, I’ve already spent so much time talking about this - Juventus will not sell the best players in our squad.”

Marotta also joined club President Andrea Agnelli in bidding farewell to Andrea Pirlo, but insists the midfield is not weakened by his move to New York City.

“Today is a day of nostalgia for Pirlo, who played pure football, recognised by everyone, we must recognise that, he’s not easy to replace.

“The starting midfield has quality, and is athletic, with Pirlo’s exit, [sami] Khedira comes in, with his grit and experience, and with [stefano] Sturaro’s consolidation then we’re on the same level.”

Arturo Vidal to Real Madrid rumours
brushed off by Juventus' Marotta

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/2515880/arturo-vidal-to-real-madrid-rumours-brushed-off-by-juventus?

Jul 8, 2015

Juventus' general manager Beppe Marotta has said that talk of a sale of Arturo Vidal to Real Madrid is "utopic" while once again reaffirming that Paul Pogba is not going anywhere this summer.

The midfielders have been linked with big-money moves in the transfer market this summer, but, despite signing Sami Khedira from Real Madrid, Juve are not entertaining the idea of losing another midfielder after Andrea Pirlo's departure for New York City FC.

"There have been rumours about Arturo and we have a good relationship with Real so these rumours are utopic," Marotta told reporters in Turin, according to Tuttosport.

Injuries and a lack of form have limited Robin van Persie to just 10 goals in 2014-15.

"At the same time, I think we've already said enough about Pogba. Juventus do not deprive themselves of their most important players."

The Serie A champions affirmed that by tying Claudio Marchisio to a new five-year contract on Monday.

"He is the personification of what Juventus means," Marotta said. "He's a senator at the age of 29 and we've renewed our faith in one of the most important members of our squad."

They could do little to prevent Pirlo from leaving, and he also leaves behind a void "which is going to be very difficult to fill," according to Marotta, who spoke of a "day of great nostalgia" to see the 36-year-old, who had won four Serie A titles in as many seasons in Turin, leave.

Juventus set Vidal, Pogba deadline

http://www.football-italia.net/68924/juventus-set-vidal-pogba-deadline?

Jul 9, 2015

Juventus have reportedly set July 31 as a deadline for Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal offers.

Both midfielders have been strongly linked with moves away from Turin, with Barcelona interested in Pogba and Vidal rumoured to be of interest to several clubs including Real Madrid.

La giornalaccio rosa dello Sport has reported that Juventus will not consider any offers that are received beyond July 31 as they prepare for the new season.

This deadline is believed to have been set as the Old Lady’s season begins on August 8, when they take on Lazio in the Supercoppa Italiana in Shanghai.

The paper also reports that Pogba will not be sold for less than €80m and Vidal’s asking price is set at between €30-35m.

Juventus stars must ask to leave - Marotta

Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal have been linked with other clubs, but the Bianconeri
director will only sell if they demand an exit and a sizeable fee is offered.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2015/07/09/13437012/-?

Jul 9, 2015

Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta says that his club will only sell their best players if they demand to leave.

Carlos Tevez and Andrea Pirlo have already left Turin this summer, while midfield pair Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba have both been strongly linked with moves to other clubs.

Marotta is not keen to see Juve's best assets depart but says it is ultimately the player's choice if they wish to depart.

"We will not sell our best players, our top assets unless the players themselves ask us to leave," he told La giornalaccio rosa dello Sport.

"In addition, we don't need cash so we're not prepared to accept any discount offers on the price of our players."

Recent reports have suggested that Juve have told Pogba and Vidal that they have until the end of July to ask to leave.

Juve deny Marotta-Raiola rift

Juventus deny that director general Beppe Marotta ever attacked agent Mino Raiola's statements and play down the controversy.

The prominent agent claimed yesterday that Barcelona would have to speak to him, rather than to the Bianconeri, if they hoped to sign Paul Pogba.

The site of Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo published some statements by Marotta this morning that came down heavily on the agent, suggesting a clash between the club and the agent.

But according to Sky Sports Italia, Juventus are now disclaiming the controversy, as Marotta apparently never said anything to El Mundo Deportivo.

Sky Sports speculates that the Spanish outlet simply reformulated some old quotes by Marotta.

‘Juventus must complete squad’

http://www.football-italia.net/69457/%E2%80%98juventus-must-complete-squad%E2%80%99

Jul 20, 2015

Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta admits ‘we know we have to complete the squad as soon as possible’.

It has been a summer of change in Turin, with Arturo Vidal likely to follow Carlos Tevez and Andrea Pirlo out of the club, while Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic, Simone Zaza, Sami Khedira and Daniele Rugani have come in.

“Hopefully the new season will go along the lines of the previous one,” Marotta said in a Press conference.

“In terms of the transfer market, clearly things are in full-swing. We know we have to complete the squad, that’s the first objective in our mind, and we’re working to do that as quickly as possible.”

Marotta: Vidal leaving Juventus for Bayern Munich

The Chile international is on the verge of sealing a €40 million switch
to the Allianz Arena but Mario Gotze is not moving in the other direction.

Jul 20, 2015

Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed that midfielder Arturo Vidal is leaving the club.

Bayern Munich have agreed a €40 million transfer fee with the Bianconeri for the Chile international, who joined the Old Lady from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011.

Vidal played a key role in Juve's revival, helping the Turin outfit win four successive Serie A titles and reach the final of last season's Champions League.

However, Marotta has now admitted that the 28-year-old is now set to become the fourth big name to leave the Italian champions this summer.

"Vidal has expressed his desire to embark on a different experience, just like [Angelo] Ogbonna, [Carlos] Tevez and [Andrea] Pirlo," the Bianconeri official told reporters on Monday.

With Vidal on his way to Bavaria, speculation is intensifying that Juve will attempt to persuade Bayern to part company with Mario Gotze, while there has also been talk of a move for Schalke's Julian Draxler.

However, Marotta is keeping his cards close to his chest, adding: "Gotze is a Bayern player and we are not in talks for him.

"As for Draxler? I don't know who'll arrive at Juventus; we only know the kind of player we want.

"The first aim is to have our squad complete and ready for the start of the new season.

"It's our duty to maintain our trend of success by reinforcing a winning model.

"Our aim is to a) equip the boss with a competitive squad and b) ensure the balance sheets are kept in good order.

"We're happy that we've lowered the average age of the squad. We're already a competitive side.

"We'll plug the odd gap in the squad if and when the right opportunity arises."

Marotta: 'We made Draxler offer'

http://www.football-italia.net/69802/marotta-we-made-draxler-offer?

Jul 27, 2015

Juventus director Beppe Marotta confirmed an initial offer for Julian Draxler and listed the Scudetto contenders.

This evening Schalke 04 announced they had “received and rejected” a bid from the Bianconeri for Draxler, reported to be €22m including bonuses.

“In a very realistic way, there are many proposals in the market. Today we presented an offer based on our evaluations and I think there’s still a big gap,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.

“That was one of the many proposals we have put forward during this market. The player belongs to Schalke 04, so obviously it ultimately depends on them.

“We are in no rush, but the squad at Allegri’s disposal is solid and we are trying to add a few cherries to the cake.

“We are working on a trequartista, or at least a midfielder with certain characteristics, and a left-back who can act as an alternative to Patrice Evra while Kwadwo Asamoah recovers from his injury.

“We are looking for eclectic players, who can allow us to set out the team in various different ways. We are looking for a midfielder with certain characteristics.”

The Serie A fixture list was drawn up today and Juventus open their campaign against Udinese, but visit Roma in Week 2.

“Before talking about favourites for the Scudetto, we need to see how this transfer window ends. Inter have strengthened a great deal, plus the usual Roma and Napoli.

“Milan have changed Coach and brought in some important players, so I believe this will be the most intriguing campaign of the last four years.”

Juventus will never sign Isco or Oscar - Marotta

The Bianconeri chief says there is no chance either player will
end up at the club, but remains keen on signing another midfielder.

Juventus managing director Giuseppe Marotta has warned that signing Isco or Oscar this summer will be impossible.

Bianconeri coach Massimiliano Allegri recently admitted he was a big admirer of both players, but Marotta says there is no chance either player will end up at the club.

"We are looking for a midfielder to add to our squad, though not necessarily a particular type of midfielder," he told Quotidiano Sportivo.

"They will join an eclectic group of midfielders that include Paul Pogba, Claudio Marchisio, Sami Khedira and Roberto Pereyra. Paulo Dybala can play in attacking midfield, too.

"Isco and Oscar are both stellar players, but in the case of Juventus – unfortunately, for now – we will never be able to sign them."

Marotta also stressed that the future of Pogba depends entirely on the player, with the club having rejected a recent €80 million bid from Barcelona.

"In modern football, the decision of the player is paramount," he added. "Look at Tevez, for instance [who Juve let return to his boyhood club Boca Juniors this summer].

"It's obvious we would like to keep Pogba, but we cannot afford to give him a crazy salary whereas some clubs can pay him almost twice as much."
