Marotta: ‘Inter still favourites’

http://www.football-italia.net/77615/marotta-%E2%80%98inter-still-favourites%E2%80%99?

Dec 28, 2015

Inter are ‘still Scudetto favourites’ according to Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta, who praises Paulo Dybala.

The Bianconeri have charged up the table in recent weeks and are now only three points off the Nerazzurri at the top, but Marotta believes Roberto Mancini’s side have the advantage.

"Inter are still the favourites because they are a team that can give consistency to results while making minimal effort,” he explained to Domenica Sportiva.

The club’s general director also reflected on the summer signing of Paulo Dybala, who has impressed since his switch from Palermo.

"Dybala was a very thought out decision,” he said.

“We knew we had our eyes on a talent, on a potential that that I think is already a reality now.

“But when you decide to bet on someone, it’s not a matter of one million more or less.

“The important thing is to have the prerequisites to be considered a great player.”

Marotta: ‘Gundogan unsellable’

http://www.football-italia.net/77946/marotta-%E2%80%98gundogan-unsellable%E2%80%99?

Jan 6, 2016

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta admits Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan is “unsellable”.

The Bianconeri have been linked with the German international in recent weeks, with reports that they were willing to offer up to €30m to get their man.

“Juventus are taking part in three competitions, and we’re taking part to win,” Marotta told Premium Sport ahead of today’s clash with Verona.

“The most difficult of course is the Champions League, where the strongest teams are. We’re a bit more relaxed now, we’re getting players back.

“We still have players who haven’t been able to express himself fully like [Kwadwo] Asamoah and [Roberto] Pereyra who is out.

“We also want to look around though, to see what opportunities there are.

“Gundogan is a name which hasn’t been brought up by us, but he’s considered unsellable by Borussia Dortmund.

“It’s too early to know what the market will be in June.”

The Old Lady have closed the gap to Inter at the top of the table to three points, but Marotta still sees the Nerazzurri as favourites.

“We’re Juventus, and it’s normal that we’re competing in the League to try and win it, but I think at this moment in time Inter have the advantage.

“It’s a fight which will be decided in the last few games.”

Martin Caceres has been preferred to Daniele Rugani for today’s game, but the director insists the club still has faith in the young centre-back.

“I think that the assessment of the lad must be made as a whole,” Marotta said.

“His technical qualities, his adaptation to the Juventus shirt, his characteristics off the field: they’re all very good.

“He’s a player who can become a very important starting player for Juventus.”

Marotta: 'Morata and Mandragora'

http://www.football-italia.net/78505/marotta-morata-and-mandragora

Jan 17, 2016

Juventus director Beppe Marotta assures Alvaro Morata won’t return to Real Madrid and confirms Rolando Mandragora.

“There is no contact with Real Madrid, not even for Morata. We have no temptation because we believe in Morata and are accustomed to not selling our best players,” Marotta told Mediaset Premium.

“Our objective is to monitor and buy young players who represent the present and future of football. For example, tomorrow we hope to finalise the signing of Mandragora from Genoa, a very interesting young midfielder.

“It is not easy to improve our squad in January and the same goes for Napoli and Inter. If we are fortunate, then this squad remains competitive for our objectives.

“Consequently I can tell you there will be no sensational transfer coups in January. Our bad start was all down to injuries and the radical changes in the squad over the summer.

“It’s evident there were problems settling in, but now we want to continue this trend with a 10th straight win.”

Marotta: 'Allegri, Pogba, Dybala staying'

http://www.football-italia.net/78861/marotta-allegri-pogba-dybala-staying?

Jan 24, 2016

Juventus director Beppe Marotta assured “we want to hold on tight” to Max Allegri, Paulo Dybala, Paul Pogba and Martin Caceres.

The Bianconeri are seeking an 11th consecutive Serie A victory against Roma tonight.

This weekend English papers claimed Allegri was the number one choice to take over at Chelsea next season.

“He is a talented Coach and has popularity, we are happy and he proved himself to be up to the task despite a difficult start,” Marotta told Mediaset Premium.

“We are very happy with him and believe we can go forward with Allegri. It is an ideal rapport between him and the club and him and the team.

“Pogba and Dybala are two interesting young players, the greatest satisfaction is having them with us as assets for the club. They are spectacular players and we want to hold on tight.

“There are three players whose contracts expire at the end of the season: Caceres, Patrice Evra and Andrea Barzagli. We have a great rapport with them and over the next few weeks will decide what is best for all concerned.

“They are three great professionals who have given a lot to the cause and we’ll evaluate their situation. One thing is certain: Caceres will not be leaving in January.

“We have a big squad and will continue with this selection of players, so we don’t have any particular needs on the market. Our objectives are not available mid-season.”

Marotta: 'Juve want to keep Cuadrado'

http://www.football-italia.net/79014/marotta-juve-want-keep-cuadrado?

Jan 27, 2016

Beppe Marotta confirmed Juventus “will try to keep Juan Cuadrado and have a verbal agreement with Chelsea.”

The winger arrived on loan over the summer and has been increasingly pushed to the bench in recent games.

“He is on loan. In tactical terms he is very different to the other players, so it’s only normal he suits us,” director general Marotta told Rai Sport.

“There is a verbal agreement for an option to buy from Chelsea, so we’ll see what happens.

“We are happy with what he’s doing both on and off the field, so certainly he is someone we’ll try to keep in Turin next season too.”

Marotta: 'Chelsea won't tempt Allegri'

http://www.football-italia.net/79015/marotta-chelsea-wont-tempt-allegri?

Jan 27, 2016

Beppe Marotta insists Max Allegri won’t be tempted by Chelsea. “It’s not easy to find a better club than Juventus.”

The Coppa Italia semi-final first leg against Inter kicks off at 19.45 GMT, follow the action and give your views on our LIVEBLOG.

Allegri has been linked with the Chelsea job for next season, as The Sun claims he is their Number One choice.

“I think that a Coach is always an important component in a successful club and in turn the club has to support him to achieve those targets,” Marotta told Rai Sport.

“He adapted well to the Juventus environment and achieved his objectives last season. This term he is doing very well even with a team that has changed a great deal.

“We are honoured that our Coach is spoken about in such glowing terms abroad, but we don’t think this is in any way disturbing him.

“In any case, it’s not easy to find a better club than Juventus in Europe, as our history speaks for us. Allegri has fully committed to our philosophy and objectives, today he deserves a lot of credit, as does the club for choosing him.

“The team and Coach are therefore a mirror of the club and I think the credit ought to be divided out between all of them.

“We never had doubts over the quality of the players. We have recently got many players back from injury and the new ones also realised what it means to wear this jersey.

“All this pressure at the start affected them, but now they have overcome those issues.”

Selling Pogba or Dybala not even
an option for Juventus, says Marotta

The Italian champions claim to have already turned down approaches for the striker
while they also insist Massimiliano Allegri will remain in charge for "many more years"

dny80m.jpg

http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2016/02/15/20384362/-?

Feb 15, 2016

Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has made it clear the club have no intention of selling Paulo Dybala or Paul Pogba.

Dybala has developed into one of the Serie A champions' undisputed stars since joining from Palermo at the start of the season and has recently been linked with a move to Barcelona.

Pogba, meanwhile, has also caught the attention of the Catalans, while Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are also keeping a close eye on his situation.

Nevertheless, Juve are determined to hold on to their star players.

"Juventus are in a position where we can reject all approaches for Paulo – and we have already done that," Marotta told Italian radio station Gr Parlamento.

"He will become even better when he gains more experience, but he is already a top player right now. Selling him is not even an option for Juventus.

"And the same goes for Pogba. He is an important player for us.

"We want to keep winning in Italy and also make an impact in Europe."

Marotta also had his say on the future of Massimiliano Allegri, who has been linked with the Chelsea job, and stressed that he expects the coach to stay put for many more years.

"There are many reasons why we want Allegri to remain in charge for many more years," he added.

"He is a great leader and Juventus are a great club. It is never easy to find someone that important and his cycle at Juventus is not over yet.

"His winning cycle can still continue and I think that is what he wants as well."

Marotta: 'Juve clear with Del Piero'

http://www.football-italia.net/80210/marotta-juve-clear-del-piero?

Feb 21, 2016

Juventus director Beppe Marotta explains how they dealt with Alessandro Del Piero differently to Roma with Francesco Totti.

There was chaos today when Totti was sent home from the training camp ahead of the Serie A game with Palermo following comments critical of Coach Luciano Spalletti and the club.

The problem appears to be that Roma won’t offer a contract extension at the end of the season, as he turns 40 in September, but haven’t confirmed that to the captain.

“It is evident that Roma are now having to deal with a truly embarrassing situation,” Marotta told Rai Sport.

“I can only say what happened to us with Del Piero, who remains an icon of Juventus, an icon of football and a legend at our club.

“When his contract expired, we renewed it for one more season and the President was very clear in the Shareholder’s Meeting in October, so a few months later, on the situation.

“He quite rightly praised the history of this great champion, who contributed to the great success of our club, and at the same time announced it would be his final year.

“This is how we closed that rapport in the best possible way, with a Scudetto under new Coach Antonio Conte and a great salute from Del Piero to the fans.

“We were very clear and explicit. I think at this point it’s right to remind people of what is written on the badge of Danish club Brondby: Supra Societatem Nemo. It means There is nothing above the club.”

Marotta: 'Conte can't keep Cuadrado'

http://www.football-italia.net/81596/marotta-conte-cant-keep-cuadrado?

Mar 20, 2016

Beppe Marotta is “proud” Antonio Conte will join Chelsea, but assures Juventus could still keep Juan Cuadrado and has no Kingsley Coman regrets.

The director general spoke to Mediaset Premium ahead of this afternoon’s Derby della Mole.

“We had the strength to shelve Wednesday’s defeat and focus on today. Torino have a healthy sense of sporting revenge, while we have the determination to get the full points.

“We have not talked to Max Allegri about a contract, as currently that is on the back-burner. It is an easy issue to resolve, so there won’t be any problems.

“Evaluation of his work is not just on results, but based on faith too.”

It is widely reported that ex-Juventus Coach Conte will be taking over at Chelsea next season, once his Italy experience has expired after Euro 2016, and Marotta confirmed as much.

“The fact Antonio Conte is going to Chelsea just confirms that we made a good choice when we took him from Siena. I am proud of this and for him.

“Cuadrado? I don’t think Conte will influence our decision. We could keep him here.”

Coman was decisive for Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday, so was it a mistake to let him go on a two-year loan with €28m option to buy?

“It was Coman who asked to leave. When there is no ambition at a club, it’s only right to respect the desires of the player.

“We should also underline that we got him as a free agent, so if Bayern do activate their clause, we will be making a profit of €28m.”

Antonio Conte joining Chelsea would
make Juventus 'very proud' - Marotta

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/italian-serie-a/story/2834440/antonio-conte-to-chelsea-would-make-juventus-chief-proud

Mar 21, 2016

Juventus' general manager Giuseppe Marotta says he would be pleased if former coach Antonio Conte were to be appointed the next manager of Chelsea.

Conte last week confirmed that he will not be extending his tenure coach of Italy beyond this summer's European Championship, paving the way for him to take over at Stamford Bridge next season.

His appointment by the Premier League club has yet to be confirmed despite holding talks with the club last month, with Guus Hiddink currently in charge on an interim basis following Jose Mourinho's departure in December.

"It's not official yet, but this would also be a reward for our decision to appoint him and we are very proud of it," Marotta told Mediaset television.

Juve hired Conte in 2011, after they had finished seventh under Luigi Delneri in what was also Marotta's first season at the club. Conte was an immediate hit, leading the Bianconeri to an unexpected Scudetto without losing a single game and also leading them to the final of the Coppa Italia.

Juve also won the next two league titles under Conte before he walked out on the Turin club in preseason to the 2014-15 campaign, and took the reins of Italy shortly after.

He was replaced by Massimiliano Allegri, who continued Conte's success by winning a league and cup double and surpassed his predecessor in Europe by taking Juve to the final of the Champions League, where they were beaten by Barcelona.

They have already been knocked out of the Champions League this season but Marotta gave a strong hint that the club would extend the coach's contract at the club, with his current deal running until the end of next season.

"It's such a simple question that we're not even talking about it anymore," he said. "Wins and defeats are not going to alter our relationship."

Marotta: ‘Morata clause a worry’

http://www.football-italia.net/81758/marotta-%E2%80%98morata-clause-worry%E2%80%99?

Mar 23, 2016

General manager Giuseppe Marotta admits Alvaro Morata’s clause is like “the sword of Damocles” hanging over Juventus.

The Spanish striker joined from Real Madrid in the summer of 2014, but Los Merengues inserted a buyback clause for the summer of 2016 and 2017.

Today the player himself admitted he doesn’t know where he’ll be next season, and Marotta also spoke about the situation at the inauguration of the Bianconeri’s new medical centre.

“The fact of Morata staying or not isn’t totally down to Juventus,” the director acknowledged.

“The clause? It’s the sword of Damocles hanging over the player’s stay. It was the only condition in taking him to Turin.

"First there must be an agreement between Madrid and Juventus, I can only reiterate that our choice was targeting a young promising player who has fulfilled that.

"We're proud, and we're proud of him. We'll open up a dialogue with Real Madrid as soon as possible, to keep him here with us if we can."

It was reported today that Coach Massimiliano Allegri had agreed a new contract, and Marotta confirmed that the club is working on an extension.

“The renewal of Allegri’s contract is our priority. There will certainly be the time and opportunity to do it.

"There's every reason to continue the winning cycle. The contract is a formal thing, what matters if having a common strategy with the Coach.

"We have a good relationship with Allegri, based on trust.

"Extending his contract is a formality. As I said before, there's every reason for us to continue a winning cycle."

Marotta: ‘Pogba could stay at Juventus’

http://www.football-italia.net/81760/marotta-‘pogba-could-stay-juventus’?

Mar 23, 2016

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta confirms Paul Pogba “could stay with us next year too”.

The French midfielder has been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United, but the Bianconeri director insists they don’t have to sell.

“We’re rejected important offers for Pogba in the past,” Marotta confirmed at the inauguration of the club’s new medical centre.

“The will of the player will be decisive. There’s a good chance that he could stay with us next year too.”

Marotta was also asked about possible transfer targets to the summer, including Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi, who there is a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ to sign.

“He’s a player who is in our thoughts for next year, like other talented young players that we’re following.

“Juan Cuadrado? We’ll have to talk to Chelsea.

“We already have a team which is on a significant level, and we’ll try to raise that level in terms of quality.

“We’ll have a transfer campaign to get men worthy of Juventus, and I hope next year we can reach the Champions League final.”

Finally, the director was asked about this season, including the refereeing controversy after Sunday’s Derby della Mole.

“The many victories of Juventus have created a culture of envy,” Marotta shrugged.

“Bonucci? Rizzoli is capbale and consistent, he decided that a warning was sufficient. As for Alex Sandro, there have been 35 other penalties this season with no booking.

“The Scudetto was our stated goal earlier in the season, there’s a structural difference between the League and the Champions League.

“In the Champions League one refereeing error can see you knocked out, as happened with Bayern Munich. In the League I think your values come out, beyong human errors by referees.

"The fact we're in the lead isn't because of the game with Torino, but because we deserve that gap from all the games we won.

"It's normal that talking about referee errors is a component of football, but even with video technology you can't eradicate it.

"We have many goals to achieve this season, don't forget that we have a Scudetto to aim for and the Coppa Italia to win."

Marotta: 'Ibra no, Morata maybe'

http://www.football-italia.net/82235/marotta-ibra-no-morata-maybe?

Apr 2, 2016

Juventus director Beppe Marotta shut the door on Zlatan Ibrahimovic and confessed Alvaro Morata “depends on Real Madrid.”

The Bianconeri host Empoli this evening, follow the action as it happens and give your views on our LIVEBLOG.

“We’ve got to focus on the details, without underestimating anything, especially games that on paper seem easy. Tonight there’s a big gap between us in the table, but we mustn’t take Empoli for granted,” Marotta told Mediaset Premium.

“I already described Morata’s situation as a Sword of Damocles hanging over us. Morata expressed the desire to remain with us and we are aware that in our hands he’s not a promising player, but a reality.

“We want to build the future on these young players and we’ll try, but ultimately the final word rests with Real Madrid.”

Ibrahimovic is expected to walk away from Paris Saint-Germain, but Marotta shut down any suggestion of a return to Juve.

“He is a great champion, but we have our philosophy and our strategy. So far we have focused on youth and will try to continue along those lines.

“Ibrahimovic also has an impressive contract that no Italian club can sustain. He could even remain at PSG, but we have a different philosophy.

“I think it’s a necessary therapy for Italian clubs to invest in their youth academy and we do need to go back to the past when there was more competition for the Azzurri jersey.

“In Italy there are teams who play 11 foreigners in the starting XI and that is not right. We still need to improve, I support the Made in Italy approach and I believe you reach a major European profile on a foundation of Italian players.”

Marotta on Allegri and Morata

http://www.football-italia.net/82576/marotta-allegri-and-morata?

Apr 9, 2016

Juventus director Beppe Marotta confirmed a Max Allegri contract renewal and Alvaro Morata “wants to continue with us.”

“I have always said Allegri’s contract renewal was a formality, as the plans count for a lot and we have just started this era, so we will certainly continue with Allegri,” the director general told Mediaset Premium.

“A modern Coach must be able to play with different systems and a club should do well to find him eclectic players. Allegri proved even without a pure trequartista that he can mutate the team during the game.

“We are deservedly top of the table and will continue to build on this team. Will a trequartista be signed over the summer? Not necessarily. If there’s the opportunity then we’ll see, but it’s premature to talk about that now.

“We still need to sit down with President Andrea Agnelli and in that meeting we’ll plan the strategy.”

Real Madrid still have a buy-back clause on Morata, even if they could well sell him on to Arsenal.

“The objective is to bring him home definitively and a lot depends on Real Madrid. On Tuesday Real have a very important Champions League game with Wolfsburg and that result could influence future situations.

“I think it’s a little premature to talk about it. I do believe Morata will have a strong influence on the decisions made by Real Madrid and Juventus.

“Alvaro has shown on more than one occasion that he wants to continue with us and that works in our favour.”

Marotta: 'Marchisio a Juve treasure'

http://www.football-italia.net/82992/marotta-marchisio-juve-treasure?

Apr 18, 2016

Beppe Marotta laments the injury of 'treasure' Claudio Marchisio, while inviting Max Allegri to continue at Juventus.

The midfielder tore his cruciate ligament in yesterday's 4-0 win over Palermo, meaning he will skip Euro 2016 and not be back presumably until mid-October.

“Unfortunately the diagnosis has been confirmed,” sporting director Marotta told Rai Radio 1. “It's a terrible injury that happened to a serious professional, a treasure of our Juventus.

“The recovery times are going to be long. This is something we did not expect. It's part of the game, but I hope he can return as soon as possible.

“His leg was stretched out and his foot got stuck in the ground. Today's football is different than it used to be, the clashes are more frequent and there are more injuries. Most of our players take part in international games as well, the stress of which contributes to them getting hurt.”

The sporting director then turned to a more positive topic, discussing Coach Max Allegri and his future.

“Juventus are a great club and they have a duty to support the Coach. We did that with [Antonio] Conte and now we do that with Allegri, who deserves credit for bringing balance to the locker room and providing the right drive. He did a great job in managing the heritage of Conte.

“Allegri is a winner, who started a positive cycle with us. It seems logical that he should be given the chance to continue it. Juventus now have stability in Italy and in Europe, and he's an important part of that.

“Football as a spectacle must be revitalised in Italy, taking our examples from abroad. Many top clubs would like to modify the make-up of the Champions League. Our president follows these discussions very carefully.

“Juventus aim to keep winning in every competition. We don't intend to be extras in any show. We must look at our finances, but that's not the priority. Winning comes first.

“The club started with a €90m deficit, and now we're positive by a few million, while picking up important victories.”

Marotta: 'Totti needs clarity'

http://www.football-italia.net/82993/marotta-totti-needs-clarity?

Apr 18, 2016

Juventus' Beppe Marotta closes to any sale of Paul Pogba, while claiming Roma's Francesco Totti needs 'clarity'.

The sporting director will have his hands full with the French midfielder this summer, as offers are expected to rain from every major club in Europe.

“We consider Pogba an important element, certainly for the next few years,” Marotta told Rai Radio 1. “We already made our decisions last year, when the offers started coming in. Pogba is happy with us. He matured and he became a champion.

“This is his habitat, even though in football you can never say never. The club doesn't plan on selling him and he hasn't asked to leave.”

The 59-year-old was also asked about former Bianconeri icon Alessandro Del Piero, which inevitably led him to a comment on the controversial Totti affair.

“Nothing but wonderful words can be said for a player like Del Piero, for what he did with Juventus and the Nazionale. His journey with us came to a close, but it all happened with great serenity.

“The club was very clear during his last season, as early as in October.

“Totti? Clarity is fundamental, and Roma have some competent directors.”

Marotta then discussed Chelsea, the club that is bound to pick up their former Coach Antonio Conte.

“There is a relationship of respect and fair play with them. Their signing of Conte makes us proud. It's something we can boast of, as we took a risk a few years ago when we handed him the reins of Juventus. I hope we'll be able to work together on the transfer market.

“The Juventus style is about living sports with loyalty. We're opposed to the culture of alibis. When you lose, you mustn't look for excuses. You look at your mistakes and you go after the next victory.

“This year, Napoli was certainly the team that frightened us the most. Aside from the recent defeats, they enjoyed an extraordinary season, especially when you consider they signed a new Coach from the province.”

'Juventus want to do business with Chelsea' - Marotta

The Blues have been linked with summer moves for Paul Pogba and Leonardo Bonucci and
the Serie A outfit's director general has hinted deals could be done between the two clubs.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2016/04/18/22517412/-?

Apr 18, 2016

Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has revealed he wants to do business with Chelsea this summer following Antonio Conte's arrival at Stamford Bridge.

Conte won five Serie A titles as a player with the Turin outfit before leading them to a further three Scudettos as manager, and Marotta insists he is happy to see the Italian get a Premier League job.

The Blues have since been linked with Juventus duo Paul Pogba and Leonardo Bonucci, while Conte also reportedly wants to keep hold of Juan Cuadrado when he returns to Chelsea from his loan spell with the Old Lady in the summer.

And Marotta has fuelled speculation after hinting that there could be deals done between the two clubs this summer.

"We and Chelsea respect each other," he told Radio Rai. "We're proud that Conte is now their manager, as five years ago we took a risk on him against many odds.

"I hope we can make some transfer dealings with Chelsea in the future."

Marotta director of the year

http://www.football-italia.net/83011/marotta-director-year?

Apr 18, 2016

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta has been named Director of the Year by the Football Leaders conference.

The Bianconeri director revolutionised the squad last summer, with Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Carlos Tevez leaving, while players such as Paulo Dybala, Sami Khedira and Alex Sandro arrived.

A poor start to the season saw Marotta draw criticism from elements of the Juve support, but the Old Lady have since opened-up a nine point lead at the top of Serie A and reached the Coppa Italia final.

The award is voted for by a panel of journalists, and will be presented to Marotta during the event which is scheduled for 24, 25 and 26 May in Amalfi.

Marotta: 'Pogba fundamental'

http://www.football-italia.net/83121/marotta-pogba-fundamental

Juventus director Beppe Marotta assured Paul Pogba is “fundamental” and described the replacement for Claudio Marchisio.

“We too want to create a competitive team and therefore Pogba is a fundamental part of that,” Marotta told Mediaset Premium.

Alvaro Morata said he wants to stay in Turin, but Real Madrid have the buy-back option.

“We want to plan out the transfer strategy as quickly as possible. Clearly right now Real Madrid are fighting for the Liga title and the Champions League, so understandably their strategy has not been defined yet.”

Marchisio’s season is over after anterior cruciate ligament surgery, also forcing him to miss Euro 2016.

“We hope to get Marchisio back as soon as possible, even if we know that after surgery in situations like this it won’t be until at least the end of September or mid-October.

“We are certain he will take his place with certainty and we’ll evaluate together the best way to substitute him.

“We won’t sign a specific replacement for him, but rather we will sign an eclectic midfielder with different qualities.

“Our main objective is to build a group that is ‘Made in Italy’ to give us guarantees and consistency based on top level professionals.

“On top of that, our ‘little old men’ are proving to be up to the task and we’re sure they can continue to play an important role.

“We’ll seek our players in Italy first and foremost, then if we don’t find them we’ll look around Europe.”

Marotta: 'Pogba and Dybala stay'

http://www.football-italia.net/83334/marotta-pogba-and-dybala-stay

Apr 24, 2016

Beppe Marotta assured “Paul Pogba and Paulo Dybala are not for sale, while we’d like to keep Juan Cuadrado” from Chelsea.

The director spoke to Mediaset Premium ahead of tonight’s Serie A clash with bitter rivals Fiorentina.

“Pogba and Dybala are the core of the team, so we will not sell them. We only sell players who want to leave.

“The first objective this summer is to consolidate this group by keeping the best players, only then will we look at the market.”

Today La giornalaccio rosa dello Sport claimed Juve had ‘booked’ Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes for next season at a cost of €25m.

“Andre Gomes? He is of interest because he is an excellent player, but many top European clubs want him too. He’d suit Juve well, but I don’t know if we’ll be able to sign him.”

Cuadrado is on loan from Chelsea, but there are reports Antonio Conte wants the Colombian winger back at Stamford Bridge next season.

“We’d like to keep Cuadrado, but we have to discuss it with Chelsea first,” noted Marotta.

“It’s only natural Conte will try to keep the best players. Cuadrado has been very important for us, so we’ll evaluate what can be done.”

Juve are consistently linked with Paris Saint-Germain talents Edinson Cavani and Javier Pastore.

“Cavani depends on whether PSG want to sell him. I am always talking about quality, as this has been our growth process, adding more and more quality each year.

“We’ll see, so much on the market is down to whether other clubs want to sell their best players. Juventus very rarely have sold their best, we only release those who ask to leave.”

Marotta: ‘Juventus will strengthen’

http://www.football-italia.net/83395/marotta-%E2%80%98juventus-will-strengthen%E2%80%99?

Apr 25, 2016

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta says “we want to strengthen in the summer”.

The Old Lady secured a fifth-consecutive Scudetto this afternoon, but the director already has one eye on the summer transfer strategy.

“We want to strengthen in the summer campaign,” Marotta confirmed to Sky.

“We know it won’t be easy though, because the level of the squad is high. We don’t have big problems in Italy, but in Europe the competitiveness is more pronounced.

“It’s not easy, the players in the squad are strong and it’s hard to find stronger ones. We want to preserve this heritage which allowed us to achieve extraordinary results.

“There are many good youngsters, but don’t forget our solid core: Buffon, Barzagli, Bonucci and Chiellini.

“Then there’s Evra and Khedira. We want to create a mix of young and more experienced players.”

Marotta: ‘Berardi? We trust Sassuolo…’

http://www.football-italia.net/83396/marotta-%E2%80%98berardi-we-trust-sassuolo%E2%80%A6%E2%80%99?

Apr 25, 2016

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta hints Domenico Berardi will arrive this summer - “we have a relationship of trust with Sassuolo”.

The Bianconeri sold the forward to the Emilian club last summer, giving up their half of his registration in exchange for a buyback clause.

The Neroverdi have hinted that they could sell the Italian Under-21 international elsewhere, but Marotta hinted that he’ll end up in Turin.

“We have a relationship of trust with Sassuolo,” the general manager told Mediaset.

“I have a strong friendship with [director general Giovanni] Carnevali. Berardi is owned by Sassuolo, but our job is to exploit every opportunity that comes along.”

Marotta also reiterated that Coach Max Allegri will soon sign a new deal.

“It’s a marriage that’s going well, both parties are completely satisfied and we’ll continue together, renewing the contract.

“We’ll do it in the week, but it’s absolutely a formality.”

Marotta: ‘Caceres can leave’

http://www.football-italia.net/83434/marotta-%E2%80%98caceres-can-leave%E2%80%99?

Apr 26, 2016

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta confirms Martin Caceres “is free to find an agreement with whoever he wants to.”

The Uruguayan is out of contract at the end of the current season, and after he ruptured his achilles ligament it was suggested he would not be offered a new deal.

The defender has been linked with a move to Napoli, and the Bianconeri director says Caceres is free to go wherever he wants.

“I don’t know if Caceres will go to Napoli,” Marotta said on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“He’s out of contract and at this moment he’s free to find an agreement with whoever he wants to.”

The Old Lady tried to sign Napoli captain Marek Hamsik last summer, and Marotta was asked about him and Edinson Cavani of Paris Saint-Germain.

“We won’t return for Hamsik, the response of [President Aurelio] De Laurentiis last year makes me think it would be the same again this year.

“It’s right that Marek will continue to wear the blue shirt.

“Cavani? At the moment there’s no chance, as we’re complete in that department. But then, you know, you can never predict what will happen in the transfer market.

“We’re evaluating all kinds of possibilities.”

Marotta: 'Juve as strong as 2006'

http://www.football-italia.net/83443/marotta-juve-strong-2006?

Apr 26, 2016

Beppe Marotta confirmed Max Allegri’s contract renewal is “a formality” and this Juventus is “just as strong” as the pre-Calciopoli side.

The Bianconeri won their fifth consecutive Serie A title on Monday, thanks to Napoli’s 1-0 defeat at Roma.

“Our march was extraordinary and credit goes above all to the team and the Coach,” Marotta told Sportitalia.

“It goes without saying Allegri will continue with us, as the contract renewal is a formality that will be finalised as soon as possible.

“For now we’ve allowed the team a few days of rest, but by next week there will be the signature.

“After the defeat to Sassuolo (on October 28) there was a turning point, in part also thanks to certain players recovering from injury. From that moment on, we put together 24 wins and a draw.

“We were aware of initial difficulties and also that we could make up for them. We didn’t think we could win the Scudetto with three rounds to spare, but optimism did reign consistently.”

There have been debates around whether this is the strongest Juve of all time, which ties into the issue of how many Serie A titles the club actually won.

The Bianconeri – and Gigi Buffon – made it clear they consider it to be 34, including the two stripped in the Calciopoli trial of 2006.

“Many years have passed, so it’s difficult to make comparisons,” added Marotta. “That Juve was as strong as this one. The club always showed it wanted victory and it’s not a coincidence Juve have won five consecutive Scudetti.”

Inter-Udinese made history as the first Serie A match without any Italian players in the starting 22.

“An Italian representation is fundamental. We have a core of Italian players who realise full well what it means to visit the smaller teams and interpret the game in the right way. We must find the best youngsters in circulation on the market to create the Italian core for the future too.”

Marotta: 'Champions League is odd'

http://www.football-italia.net/83445/marotta-champions-league-odd?

Apr 26, 2016

Beppe Marotta noted Juventus “beat Manchester City twice, yet they are in the Champions League semi-final.”

Max Allegri warned after five consecutive Serie A titles he now wants to target the Champions League and that means big investments.

“The Champions League is something you need to get accustomed to challenging for on a regular basis,” director general Marotta told Sportitalia.

“This tournament is decided by incidents that can go for or against you, as in 180 minutes it is all decided.

“We beat Manchester City twice in the group phase, but they are in the semi-finals and we are not. With Bayern Munich we were 90 seconds away from qualifying.

“Juventus must always try to improve. We can already count on a quality group with great individuals. We want to take any eventual opportunities, if they arise.

“We’ve created a very good rapport with Paul Pogba and he has said many times he’s happy here, so there are all the conditions needed to remain.”

Real Madrid have a buy-back option on Alvaro Morata, while Juan Cuadrado is currently on loan from Chelsea.

“They are two important players, but there are difficulties to overcome. We will try to keep them here.”

Is PSG striker Edinson Cavani an objective for Juve?

“We do not have a specific objective. I have always praised his quality, but he is a PSG player and we have never opened negotiations. He’d be suited to many clubs, not just Juve.

“We have a strike force made up of Alvaro Morata, Paulo Dybala, Simone Zaza and Mario Mandzukic who have given us many fine moments and goals.”

The Bianconeri are battling Napoli and Leicester City for Pescara forward Gianluca Lapadula.

“We are monitoring all the interesting players in Italy. We already signed Rolando Mandragora and several other promising youngsters around the country.

“We will always look for Italians with good prospects. Lapadula is doing very well and we intend to make moves that are congenial to our project.”

Finally, does Marotta have a word to describe Gigi Buffon?

“Insuperable, both as a player and a man.”
