May 4, 2016 Reports say Juventus have given Paul Pogba a deadline to decide on his future and will offer Real Madrid €25m for Alvaro Morata. giornalaccio rosa dello Sport reports today that with the Bianconeri targeting Champions League glory next season, they’re looking to tie down their star men. The Turin giants are ready to improve Pogba’s salary to keep him at the club and have asked the France international to make a decision soon. If he wants to leave, the midfielder must inform the club within the next 15-20 days, according to the report. Meanwhile the Old Lady are looking to resolve the issue of Morata’s buy-back clause with Real Madrid. The newspaper reports that director Giuseppe Marotta will offer the Merengues President Florentino Perez €25m to cancel the deal, but the chances of this proposal being accepted are slim. The report says that Juan Cuadrado also looks set to leave Juve, as he’ll return from his loan to Chelsea in the summer and new Coach Antonio Conte wants to keep him. May 4, 2016 Juventus have “regrets” over their Champions League exit, as Beppe Marotta assures they “are at the same level as the biggest clubs.” The Bianconeri went out in extra time to Bayern Munich, who were eliminated in the semi-final last night by Atletico Madrid. “There are regrets we’re not at this stage of the tournament,” director general Marotta told Mediaset Premium. “We wanted to be out there on the pitch, but the verdict must be accepted. The Champions League is not like a League tournament where true values emerge over the course of 38 rounds. It’s a competition where incidents count for everything.” Manchester City are in tonight’s semi-final with Real Madrid, further adding to the regrets as Juventus beat them home and away, yet finished second in their group. “The defeat to Sevilla did have weigh on us, but the biggest regret is tied to the loss in Munich. Seeing our target disappear a few seconds from the final whistle was hard. “We are at the same level as the biggest clubs. I say that with pride, not arrogance. We have been able to reach an excellent level, while other sides like Barcelona are on the way back down. “We have grown, other teams less so.” Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

May 4, 2016 Juventus will “negotiate with Real Madrid for Alvaro Morata and other situations,” while Beppe Marotta gave updates on Juan Cuadrado, Isco, Leonardo Bonucci and Andre Gomes. The Bianconeri director general sat down with Mediaset Premium to discuss their transfer strategy after winning a fifth consecutive Scudetto. “For Morata’s future we have to wait for the outcome of tonight’s Champions League semi-final between Manchester City and Real Madrid. “Within the next three weeks, we need to reach a definitive agreement. If it’s positive, we’ll be happy, if it’s negative then we have to evaluate new operations. “He is valued at a few dozen million Euros, but I don’t want to talk about figures because we’ll talk in a wider context that could include other situations too.” The Merengues have a buy-back clause for Morata, but is there truth in suggestions Juve could get Isco as part of a deal? “Isco is an excellent player, but I think they will want to hold on very tight to him.” There is a similar situation in place with Chelsea and Cuadrado, who is on loan without an option to buy. “We will soon set an appointment with Chelsea to understand their intentions regarding Cuadrado.” Players linked with Juve this summer include Andre Gomes of Valencia and Monaco’s Bernardo Silva. “Gomes is an important player with potential and would suit a top club. Bernardo Silva is versatile and has important qualities, but we never negotiated for him. Having said all that, it’s still early days.” Bonucci was praised by Manchester City’s next Coach Pep Guardiola and has a strong bond with Antonio Conte, but a move to England is highly unlikely. “Bonucci is a marvellous player and I think he intends to play in Turin for many more years. He arrived under the radar, but today is a leader after earning an important role in the team. For a side that is aiming for big objectives, players like him are fundamental.” Max Allegri had been a prime candidate for the Chelsea job, which eventually went to Conte, but has committed his future to Juventus. “Signing the contract is a formality,” continued Marotta. “His deal is set to expire in 2017 and we want to extend it by at least a year. “There is a daily rapport with him based on transparency and honesty. We never even suspected he would leave. “This era will come to an end, but we are starting our third year with him. It’s natural to accept the rapport will continue.” Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

May 4, 2016 Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that Manchester City approached the Serie A champions for Paul Pogba last year, but maintains the club want to hold onto the midfielder for years to come. The France international remains one of the most sought after players in the world, with Juve having rejected a bid from Barcelona before the 2015-16 campaign while Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are continually linked to him. Marotta says that the former Manchester United midfielder has been the subject of interest from City too, but says that this is still not the time for the Bianconeri to sell the 23-year-old. "Manchester City asked us for Paul Pogba last year," he said. "Along with Paulo Dybala, Pogba is one of the most popular players. "It's not yet time to sell Pogba, he is not on the transfer market. We want to keep it very tight, he is just 23 and he is in a position to stay with us for many years." Juve attacker Alvaro Morata has also been linked to a move away from Turin ahead of the upcoming transfer window, with Real Madrid reportedly open to activating the buy-back clause they have for him, but the director insists the club see him as a key player. "Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is a great leader, we have an excellent relationship with the club," he added. "I think that within three weeks we will reach a decision over his future. Morata is an important player, and he will cost a lot of money." After guiding the club to his second Serie A title and their fourth in a row, Massimiliano Allegri is expected to sign a new contract with Juve. While nothing has been confirmed, Marotta has reiterated that it is only a matter of time before the deal is sealed. "Allegri's renewal is only a formality, to the great satisfaction of both parties. We are going to extend his contract at least one year, compared to June 2017. The relationship with Allegri is great. We never had the suspicion that he could leave." A Lega Serie A meeting on Thursday discussed proposals to adopt a similar system to the ones in force both in Spain and Germany where clubs' reserve teams compete in the lower leagues, rather than in a specific reserve division. "If it happens, it will be in everybody's best interests," Marotta said after the consultation in Milan to Sportitalia. "It's emerged that the [Lega's] technical committee have highlighted and indicated how eventually inserting reserve teams into lower leagues would be an important instrument for the growth and formation of young players who belong to an individual club. "What has come out of this meeting is important and it should be received well by the clubs, their presidents and football's governing body." Currently, it is common for Italy's top-flight clubs to have numerous young players on their books who are sent out to lower-league teams on loan to allow them to gain experience and develop, rather than remaining in their own club's youth system. Under the new proposals, clubs would be more likely to keep these players within their own club, still offering them the opportunity to play regularly at a lower level, but also leaving the door open for them also to make first-team appearances. It could also enable players recovering from injuries the opportunity to regain fitness in competitive matches at a lower level before making their first-team returns, as is often the case both in Spain and Germany. It’ll depend on some forced exits, such as Morata and Juan Cuadrado, then we’ll keep the whole squad other than those who want to leave. “We favour ‘Made in Italy,’ and give the prerogative to local talent, but naturally if we cannot find suitable options in-house, we have to look elsewhere. “Last season we invested all the money from TV rights by buying from Italian clubs and we’d like to continue that, as long as they are quality players.” Marotta was asked about links to Paris Saint-Germain striker Cavani. “Last year we invested a lot into the attacking section by buying three players when we already had Morata. It is an area up to the standards of our objectives. We’d only do something if there was a departure.” Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

The Bianconeri transfer chief was awarded the Varesesport prize today, and provided Gianluca Di Marzio’s website with an update on the summer transfer campaign. “I often read in the newspapers that [Roma’s Miralem] Pjanic is close,” Marotta noted. “In fact we’ve never spoken with Roma, a club with which we have excellent relations. He’s definitely a great player though. “Morata? We’ll have to meet with Real Madrid, but at the moment they’re busy preparing for the Champions League final. We’ll talk after the final. “Will he stay? 50 per cent. “Isco won’t come, we’ll discuss Morata with Real, but there are long months ahead. “Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani? Our attack meets every requirement, also formed by three players who arrived last summer. “We’re very happy with what they’re doing, but if someone like Morata leaves we’d evaluate things. “I think we’ll start next season with this arrangement though.” Marotta was also asked about Andrea Barzagli’s renewal, as well as links to Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez. “It’s nice to read that so many players would like Juventus. Reality tells us that this team is now where it has historically been considered, so it’s normal that most top players would find the thought of coming to us appealing. “Di Natale rejected us, but those days are long gone. As for Sanchez, he’s definitely a good player. “Barzagli? May 11, 2016 Juventus director Beppe Marotta argues winning the Champions League is tougher for Italian sides because of Serie A stress. The Bianconeri reached the Final last year and have made it clear they intend to go for the trophy next term. “In the 1990s and early 2000s, our League was considered Eldorado, the promised land,” said Marotta at an event marking the Champions League Final at San Siro on May 28. “Today it’s almost a transitional League. However, in Italy the domestic tournament saps a great deal of energy from teams. You cannot afford to go to Sassuolo or Carpi while underestimating the test, because you do risk defeat. “Other teams in different Leagues have the advantage, because locally they do not have the same stress, including that caused by the media. “Unpredictability plays a very important role in the Champions League, as shown by the fact no side has managed to retain the trophy in its current format. “Last year we lost the Final to Barcelona, the best team in the world. What matters is reaching that evening where you play the decisive match with the best team available and fitness levels at the top. “Another important variable is the draw from the Round of 16 onwards and that has a huge say in who reaches the Final. “Losing to Sevilla means you’re not group winners, not top seeds and that changes everything. Or you can play a game in Istanbul that was on the limits of what is allowed.” Marotta was referring to the defeat to Galatasaray in 2013 under heavy snow. “I won’t say that domestic Leagues are won by the team that plays the best football, but it is the better team overall. In October we were 13th and we finished top. That means Juve are the strongest side in Serie A.” Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

May 14, 2016 Juventus director Beppe Marotta reiterated Alvaro Morata “wants to stay, but it depends on Real Madrid,” and expects a tough Scudetto battle next year. The Bianconeri end their Serie A season with a Scudetto party against Sampdoria, follow the action on our LIVEBLOG. Marotta was asked by Mediaset Premium how many of today’s starting XI will remain next season? “All of them. I’ve said many times that players only leave if they want to go. It is a group that has shown great quality, not just technically, but also as men and they can achieve even more important targets. “We want to keep all of them, but there will be a few adjustments to improve an already-competitive squad.” Real Madrid have a €30m buy-back option on Morata, so Juventus could in theory have no say in the matter. “Morata is an important player for us and we have to wait for the Champions League Final, because it could change Real Madrid’s entire season, without forgetting they are playing for the Liga title today. “We will meet afterwards and try to keep him, fully aware that the player wants to stay and has always made it clear this is the ideal habitat to grow. “In my experience, there is no winning team without a winning club behind it. We are reference points and cannot allow the players any alibis. We have to support the activity of the Coach, respect the work of the players and that is how we climbed from 13th place in October to winning the title. “Who do we fear for next season? It’s usually the same sides in the top six or seven, so the two Milan clubs, Napoli, Roma and the outsiders, without forgetting Fiorentina.” Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

May 24, 2016 Juventus director Beppe Marotta confirms that the future of Alvaro Morata will be clarified within the next two weeks. Speaking with Tuttosport, Marotta responded to the mounting speculation regarding the Spanish striker’s future. “Morata? We’ll clarify the situation in 10 days to 2 weeks.” Marotta told the Turin based daily. “Alvaro’s willingness is very important, he has always said that he’s very well in Turin and he wants to stay in Vinovo. Once we speak to Real, we’ll consequently act on the market. “We are monitoring several tracks (players), and let it be clear: we are looking for players worthy of Juve. “If the transfer market will allow us and there’s important options, we will try to strengthen the midfield. But at the same time, we are working very closely on young players (Italians & foreigners).” Marotta turned his attention to Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi who is believed to be on his way to Juventus and was rumoured to be used as part of a deal for Roma’s Miralem Pjanic. “Berardi is a great player, we’ll evaluate what’s best for us and the boy. If we sign him he’ll stay with us.” Marotta went on to reveal that Juve may have missed out on Paulo Dybala last summer. “At one point we were going to lose him [Dybala], then we acted immediately and sealed the deal. “When you are sure about a player you cannot afford to lose him, even if you have to pay a little bit more. “In the end, the money is just an investment and the fact that Dybala has doubled his value in 12 months is proof.” Finally, Marotta talked about the future of the club and the important of having a youth team. “Keeping our young players close, making them develop alongside our champions is important, especially with the opportunity to play with continuity. It’s very important for our young talents, who often get lost.” Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

The 59-year-old is cementing his reputation as one of Italy's most powerful directors after having been essential to the Bianconeri's dominance of Serie A for several years. “If we're dominating now, it's precisely because we always did our best to keep a compact group,” he told Tuttosport. “Except for certain specific situations, and cases when it was inevitable.” Marotta then discussed specific players such as Alvaro Morata and Sassuolo's Domenico Berardi. “We'll define Alvaro's future in the next 10 days to two weeks. His preference will bear a certain weight too. “We'll have a chat with Real Madrid, then we'll move on the transfer market. We're considering a variety of options, though our scope is restricted inasmuch as our players must fit the 'Juventus criteria'. “Berardi is an excellent player. We'll consider calmly what's best for us and for the lad. In any case, if we buy him, he'll stay with our squad. “[Manchester United's Matteo] Darmian and [Milan's Mattia] De Sciglio? We know we have to gradually bring down the average age of our defence, which – let it be said – delivered an exceptional service so far and can still guarantee it.” Finally, Marotta discussed his most successful signing last year, Paulo Dybala. “At one point we were about to lose him, so we moved at once and we raised our bid. When you're so confident of a player's skills, you can't afford to lose him, no matter if it costs you a bit more. “That money was an investment anyway. The fact that Dybala doubled his value in 12 months is proof of that.” Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Last season's Serie A witnessed the emergence of the Azzurri as the unexpected challengers for the title, with the Old Lady having a tough time breaking them. “The Partenopei have been our more-than-worthy rivals and for much of the championship they were ahead of us,” Marotta told Il Mattino. “We were both aiming for the Scudetto, but we all know that only one team can win it in the end. “Still, believe me when I say that Napoli played an extraordinary championship. I imagine it's still going to be Napoli-Juventus in the future. “[President Aurelio] De Laurentiis is reinforcing his team to become more competitive, and we're doing the same. I think the Azzurri are still going to be worthy of the Scudetto.” Juventus have Paulo Dybala and Napoli have Gonzalo Higuain, making both the top Serie A clubs dependent on the Argentinians. “That's probably true. It's hard to imagine Napoli without Higuain. We'll keep Dybala, obviously. It's a shame they both have to be foreigners, but champions of that kind can only be good for the prestige and the growth of our championship. “Don't ask me which of the two is strongest because the numbers are all in favour of the Neapolitan. What El Pipita did this season is beyond words, people have run out of adjectives. “Today he's among the strongest in the world, a global icon. Dybala is an excellent player who behaved wonderfully in his first year with us, and who must consolidate his position within the team. Our group is difficult to improve, and we have no intention of selling, so much so that in the next few days we’ll renew with Evra. “We’re working. We have to keep four Italian players and four players from our youth team in the squad, a rule that penalises the spectacle. “We’ll adapt though, the idea is to create a mix of young and experienced players. We’re not at the level of Spain and England, because abroad there’s a lot more money in their coffers to invest.” Marotta was also asked about the situation up-front, with Alvaro Morata likely to leave and links to Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani. “Keeping the Spaniard [Morata] in Turin would be a source of pride and satisfaction for us. He’s a talent who is becoming a champion. “We’ll do the impossible to keep him, but it doesn’t depend on us because Real Madrid can exercise their buyback clause. “If it goes badly, we’ll evaluate other options. “Would Cavani be an alternative? He’s a great player, but he’d be very difficult to move from Paris. “As for Domenico Berardi, we have a verbal commitment with Sassuolo, and we’ve said we want to exercise our moral priority. “So yes, it’s possible Juve will take Berardi.” Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

The promising 21-year-old had been linked to the Old Lady for months, but reports now suggest he will end up in the ranks of Nerazzurri Coach Roberto Mancini. This is but one of the many transfer stories surrounding the Old Lady, including the near-certainty that Alvaro Morata will leave and the speculation that Paul Pogba may be sold. “Real Madrid will activate their buy-back clause for Alvaro Morata, we're just waiting for the written offer and we'll see what happens after that,” said Marotta, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb. "We'll evaluate what to do, but I think the chances of Morata remaining with us are very small at the moment. “As for Pogba, we haven't received any offer, and he is a fundamental player for the present and the future of Juventus. [Mino] Raiola is an excellent agent with whom we have a great relationship, but Pogba's growth is still ongoing and he'd do well to stay with us. "Right now we're not going to open discussions. “With Miralem Pjanic and Dani Alves we worked ahead on the market and started building the team for next season. The Brazilian will be in Turin starting from next week. "Does that mean Stephan Lichtsteiner will leave? The goal is to have two quality players for every role." The Bianconeri are also being linked with Valencia's Andre Gomes and Barcelona's Javier Mascherano, as well as Sassuolo youngster Berardi. “Those are some pretty utopian targets. Barcelona have closed things down for Mascherano, and Valencia's request for the Portuguese is pretty high. Berardi? I've spoken with [Giorgio] Squinzi and [Giovanni] Carnevali and I don't think the player will go to Inter, he chose a very precise path of development. He didn't refuse to come to Juve, but he decided to stay another year at Sassuolo. If the player wants to grow in an environment that suits him then it's right to wait." Jul 15, 2016 Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has insisted the Italian champions have had no contact with Manchester United over midfielder Paul Pogba. The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a move for their former youth player for a probable world-record transfer fee of around €120 million. Pogba's agent, however, has claimed that his client is in no rush to leave Turin and says Juventus are planning to offer him a new contract. On Friday, Marotta poured further cold water on the speculation in an appearance on Italian television, simply telling Sportitalia that there has been "no contact" with other clubs. Juventus completed the loan signing of Medhi Benatia from Bayern Munich earlier in the day and have also signed Dani Alves and Miralem Pjanic this summer. Goal understands the Bianconeri have agreed terms with Gonzalo Higuain and are attempting to negotiate a deal to buy the striker from Napoli. The Bianconeri are thought to have an agreement with the player, but his club have made it clear they won’t negotiate, meaning the champions would have to pay his €94m release clause. Partenopei President Aurelio De Laurentiis said earlier today that the Old Lady had “no intention” of doing that, and Marotta has confirmed as much. “Yes, there’s no negotiation for Higuain,” Marotta said after the Lega Serie A meeting, as reported by SportMediaset. “De Laurentiis said we won’t pay the release clause? I’d say yes, that’s how it is. I’d say yes, absolutely. “It’s a closed subject. For now. There’s no negotiation with Napoli. I won’t add anything else. “Has Higuain asked to be sold? Ask Napoli. Will we replace Alvaro Morata? Well yes, we will.” Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

The Bianconeri are believed to be on the verge of securing Higuain from Napoli for a Serie A record fee of €90m, while Pogba could join Manchester United. According to Sky, general manager Marotta and sporting director Paratici are both at the club’s headquarters on Corso Galileo Ferraris in Turin. This could indicate that updates are coming on one or both of the potential moves, possibly as early as this evening. In anticipation, several Juve fans have turned up at Higuain’s rumoured Turin residence to see if Pipita is inside. Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

The 59-year-old was speaking briefly to journalists outside the Lega Calcio headquarters, where he earlier deposited the Argentine forward’s contract details to Italian football’s governing body. “We have deposited Gonzalo Higuain’s contract,” Marotta confirmed. “We have done everything.” Higuain has joined the Bianconeri in a €94m deal, having signed a four-year deal at Juventus Stadium. Marotta was then quizzed on reports of a world record Pogba move to Manchester United. “Pogba to Manchester United? We will see when everything is over. Right now everything has stopped.” Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Bentancur, 19, has also been linked with AC Milan and Arsenal, but Marotta said the Serie A champions were keen to bring him to Turin. "Yes, we are interested in him as well," he was quoted as saying by Corriere dello Sport. Juventus have an option to buy Bentancur for €9.4 million as part of the move that took Carlos Tevez to Boca last summer. The Uruguayan is under contract until December 2018. In April, sources told ESPN FC that Arsenal were tracking the player, tipped to become one of the best midfielders in the world. Sources close to Boca said the Gunners were having him watched with a view to making a move. Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Rumours have been growing in the past 24 hours that the Colombian will return to the Bianconeri on loan, having spent last season in Turin. “I believe our work is 95 per cent done on the transfer market,” Marotta told reporters at the annual Villar Perosa friendly between Juventus' A and B teams. “We’re looking for a central midfielder. It’s not easy right now to get the right profile, it isn’t easy to improve a team like ours. “Some names? That doesn’t seem right, they’re players from other teams but we’ll definitely be attentive to everything. “Marcelo Brozovic of Inter? I can say no. On the other hand Cuadrado is a player who would be welcome, he conducted himself very well with us. “We have to assess Chelsea’s position, if an opportunity arises whereby we can bring him back to us then we’ll be there.” Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

Both players were thought to be on the verge of leaving the club, but the striker's move to Germany appears to have collapsed and Pereyra is yet to sign with the Hornets. “He [Zaza] was involved in a negotiation, in the end both sides made their assessments and it didn’t result in the definition of this sale," Marotta confirmed at Villar Perosa. “He remains in our squad, we evaluated our opportunities with him as we’ll do in the coming days if other offers are presented. “Roberto Pereyra? We’ve had a lot of offers for him, the player liked one of those which was Watford, belonging the Pozzo family who the lad knows well. “I think this negation will come to a conclusion one way or the other in the next 48 hours. “[Mario] Lemina is a welcome confirmation, high-level teams asked for him but he’s an important element for us, a great prospect in whom we strongly believe. “Alongside him I’d like to emphasise the return after recent physical problems of a player like [Kwadwo] Asamoah who will be very important.” Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti
