  1. Juventus vs Torino: Preview and Prediction The city of Turin braces itself for another fiery Derby della Mole as Juventus welcome local rivals Torino to the Allianz Stadium on Saturday evening. The fixture, one of Italy’s oldest and most passionate rivalries, carries not only civic pride but also significant implications for both sides’ Serie A ambitions. Juventus aim to extend their two-decade-long dominance in this derby, while Torino seek a rare and historic upset. After weeks of mounting frustration and inconsistent performances, Juventus have turned to Luciano Spalletti to steer the ship. ............ Despite their struggles, Juventus remain formidable at the Allianz Stadium, having lost only once in their last 31 Serie A home games. Their defensive solidity, 17 clean sheets in that run, has long been their defining feature, and Spalletti will no doubt look to build his foundation there. For the new coach, this derby represents an opportunity not just to maintain Juve’s supremacy over their city rivals, but also to lay down a marker for the remainder of the season. On the other side of the city, Marco Baroni has quietly overseen a period of stability at Torino. A former Juventus youth coach himself, Baroni now finds himself plotting against his old club in what would be a statement victory for the Granata. Torino enter the derby unbeaten in five Serie A matches since late September, a run that has lifted them into mid-table contention and injected belief back into the squad. ............ Team News & Tactics Juventus Luciano Spalletti’s early weeks in charge of Juventus have been marked by tactical fine-tuning and personnel reshuffling as he seeks to reimpose structure on a side that had lost its defensive sharpness. The Italian tactician, traditionally an advocate of the 4-3-3, has opted instead for a more flexible three-man defensive system since arriving in Turin. The setup, though unconventional by his standards, has offered the Bianconeri better balance between defence and attack, and he is likely to retain it for this weekend’s derby. However, Spalletti will have to cope with some key absences. Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal are both unavailable due to injury, leaving gaps in central defence. Meanwhile, Lloyd Kelly faces a late fitness test as he recovers from a knock; should he fail to make the matchday squad, Teun Koopmeiners, a naturally versatile midfielder, is expected to drop into the back three as cover. In attack, Dusan Vlahovic is managing a minor flexor issue, and though he is expected to feature, the Serbian forward will undergo a final assessment before kick-off. If deemed unfit, Lois Openda or Jonathan David could be handed the chance to lead the line. Fortunately for Juventus, there are no suspension concerns heading into this contest. Spalletti’s Juventus are likely to line up in a 3-4-2-1 formation, emphasising structured build-up play and disciplined wing involvement. Michele Di Gregorio will continue in goal, shielded by a defensive trio of Pierre Kalulu, Federico Gatti, and Teun Koopmeiners, who will provide both defensive cover and progressive distribution from the back. The wing-back roles are expected to be filled by Andrea Cambiaso on the right and Filip Kostic on the left, two players crucial to stretching Torino’s compact shape and supplying crosses into the box. In central midfield, Khephren Thuram and Manuel Locatelli will anchor the middle of the park, combining physicality with technical assurance. Just ahead of them, Weston McKennie and Kenan Yildiz will operate as the dual attacking midfielders, charged with linking play and supporting the central striker. Up front, if fully fit, Dusan Vlahovic will spearhead the attack, using his movement and hold-up play to exploit spaces between the lines and test Torino’s backline. Probable Lineup (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Gatti, Koopmeiners; Cambiaso, Thuram, Locatelli, Kostic; McKennie, Yildiz; Vlahovic Torino ............ Probable Lineup (3-5-2): Paleari; Ismajli, Maripan, Coco; Pedersen, Casadei, Asllani, Vlasic, Nkounkou; Adams, Simeone Key Stats Juventus have won the vast majority of recent fixtures between these clubs, specifically 77 wins for Juventus compared to 35 for Torino, with 45 draws in Serie A alone. Torino have won just one of the last 32 meetings against Juventus. In a sample of head-to-head matches, the average number of goals per game between the two sides hovers around 2.5. Juventus have lost only one of their last 35 Serie A matches against Torino, recording 26 wins and eight draws in that run. Historically, in the Derby della Mole, the fourth quarter-hour (76’-90’) has seen Juventus score more than any other interval, with 63 goals recorded in that timeframe versus Torino’s fewer in the same period. Player to Watch Dusan Vlahovic When it comes to decisive figures in the Derby della Mole, few names command as much attention as Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian striker remains Juventus’s focal point in attack and one of Serie A’s most lethal finishers when in rhythm. Powerful, precise, and relentless, Vlahovic combines physical dominance with a striker’s instinct for space, traits that make him an ever-present threat to any defence. Vlahovic’s recent resurgence under Luciano Spalletti has been timely. After battling fitness issues and inconsistency earlier in the campaign, the 25-year-old has rediscovered his sharpness, scoring crucial goals that underline both his confidence and his importance to Juventus’s offensive structure. His movement between the lines, ability to hold up play, and deadly left foot make him the perfect spearhead for Spalletti’s 3-4-2-1 system, particularly when supported by the creativity of Kenan Yildiz and the wide delivery of Filip Kostic. Beyond his technical prowess, Vlahovic’s mentality in big games sets him apart. He thrives on high-pressure occasions, and few fixtures carry more emotional weight than the Turin derby. ............ Prediction Juventus 2-0 Torino The Derby della Mole rarely disappoints in intensity, but recent history suggests this one could follow a familiar script. Juventus enter the clash with renewed purpose under Luciano Spalletti, who has already injected tactical clarity and composure into a team that had started to drift. The Bianconeri’s defensive organisation remains among the best in Italy, and their record at the Allianz Stadium, just one league defeat in 31 matches, highlights why they will once again start as firm favourites. Torino, meanwhile, arrive unbeaten in five league games, displaying grit and improved attacking coordination under Marco Baroni. Yet their inability to convert competitive performances into victories, coupled with a long-standing psychological block against their city rivals remains a major obstacle. Defensive lapses, particularly early in matches, have been a recurring issue, and against Juventus’s precision-based approach, those moments of hesitation could prove costly. If Dusan Vlahovic passes his late fitness test, he is likely to be the deciding factor. His strength and clinical finishing offer Juventus the cutting edge they need, while the energy of Kenan Yildiz and the delivery of Filip Kostic should create consistent openings. ............ Expect a tense, tactical battle for much of the contest, with Juventus gradually asserting control as the game progresses. The Hard Tackle predicts a 2-0 win for Luciano Spalletti and his charges. . 2. Round 11: Juventus vs. Torino match preview Once the final whistle sounds Saturday night at the Allianz Stadium, Luciano Spalletti will hopefully have a chance to breathe a little bit. He has been Juventus’ manager for all of a week now, but he’s about to manage his third game over that span because the schedule is unrelenting in the year 2025. And what an interesting matchup Spalletti has on the cusp of the November international break. With a win domestically and (sigh) a draw in the Champions League to his name sice taking over for Igor Tudor a week ago, Spalletti now turns his attention toward being part of the Derby della Mole for the first time. That’s right — Juve’s final game before the November international break arrives is the Turin derby, as Spalletti will again get a quick introduction about what this city rivalry is like with all of a week of experience on the job. Saturday night’s matchup at the Allianz Stadium comes as Spalletti closes in on actually having five training sessions with his new club under his belt — something that is going to quickly change with the arrival of the international break. ............ It’s a small sample size, sure. But considering how bad things had gotten with Tudor, this team feels like it’s hungry for anything to start going right with their new manager to potentially build upon. The catch in all this? Here’s the amount of points each club has recorded over their past six games … Juventus: 8 Torino: 9 No, that’s not a typo, folks. That’s the God’s honest truth. For as much as Torino struggled during the first month of the 2025-26 season, they’ve been able to turn things around under first-year manager and former Juventus primavera coach Marco Baroni. And it’s come at the same time as Juve’s length winless run that ultimately cost Tudor has job and why we’re now talking about Spalletti as the club’s new manager. Juventus have dominated this matchup over the years. That’s not breaking news to pretty much anybody who has paid attention to it. Whether it’s 1-0 or 2-0 win or one that sees five or six goals scored, Juventus have rarely lost to their little brother from the other side of Turin. ............ TEAM NEWS Spalletti didn’t hold a pre-match press conference due to Juventus’ shareholders’ meeting also being on Friday, so there were no updates in terms of player availability for Saturday’s derby. ............ There is a chance that Khephren Thuram could be rested against Torino. If that’s the case, then Weston McKennie would kick inside alongside Manuel Locatelli and Filip Kostic would likely come into the starting lineup. The other possible decision Spalletti will have to make with his starting lineup will be between Francisco Conceição and Loïs Openda. As has been the case the last couple of weeks, Teun Koopmeiners — who has found a home playing on the left side of Spalletti’s three-man backline — is one yellow card away from having to serve a suspension. ............ Juventus are unbeaten in their last 22 games against Torino in all competitions. JUVENTUS PLAYER TO WATCH If we’ve learned anything about Spalletti’s very short time as Juventus manager so far, it’s that the highest-paid player in the league is back to being a central component of his setup. So much of that previous sentence was something that none of us really considered a couple of months ago, let alone over the summer. And who can disagree with that the way Juve’s No. 9 has played over Spalletti’s first two games in charge, right? ............ Yes, Dusan Vlahovic is back to being the main man in attack for Juventus. Well, I guess you could say co-star alongside Kenan Yildiz considering the youngster’s continued development into a budding star this season, but you can probably understand where I’m going with this. Vlahovic is not only playing under Spalletti, he’s starting … and he’s playing as well as he has all season. ............ But here’s the thing with Vlahovic and his current form: Juventus need it. Like, really need it and need it to continue because their other strikers outside of Yildiz have been a rather disappointing group of performers. Jonathan David looks devoid of confidence and is playing as such. Same goes for Loïs Openda even as he’s played alongside Vlahovic of late. So that leaves Vlahovic for Spalletti to build the attack around along with Yildiz. And, with how Vlahovic has played of late, it’s hard to think Spalletti should do anything else. ............ Yes, he is playing for his next contract. That is probably somewhere other than Juventus, but even if there’s a chance that it is in Turin, then he’s playing at least close to the player who is paid €12 million net a season right now. Let’s just hope he can keep that going because it would certainly help Spalletti solve one of Juve’s biggest issues of late. MATCH INFO When: Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025. 3. Alessio Tacchinardi reveals the impact that Spalletti has already made at Juventus Alessio Tacchinardi has expressed his satisfaction with the progress he has seen at Juventus since Luciano Spalletti took over as manager. The former midfielder believes the team has improved significantly in both structure and mentality, showing greater focus and discipline as they work to remain near the top of Serie A. The appointment of Spalletti has brought experience and authority, qualities that Juventus had been missing since Max Allegri’s departure. ............ Even though it is still early in Spalletti’s tenure, Juventus already look more cohesive and confident. The players seem more aware of their responsibilities and more committed to the system he has introduced. His methods have encouraged greater accountability and tactical discipline, helping the team recover their competitive edge. Tacchinardi’s observations reflect the sense that Juventus are gradually regaining its identity as a dominant force in Italian football. ............ Tacchinardi said: “The team has changed radically, they have a real coach. He had the balls to put Koopmeiners on his arm and gave the technical explanations: he put him there to break the line and go on to win the match. In the first match, the players feel much more responsible, I liked everything, but in the last 5 minutes the game was not played because Spalletti put on a show and slowed it down.” ............ . 4. Juventus shareholders approve €110m capital increase & reject Tether proposal Juventus shareholders have officially approved a new capital increase of up to €110 million, with 95.41% voting in favour of the proposal during today’s assembly. ............ The decision follows months of financial planning, after Exor, Juve’s majority shareholder, had already provided a €30m advance earlier this year. ............ The board had proposed the increase in response to lower-than-expected sporting results and commercial revenues, as well as higher non-recurring costs in recent seasons. During today’s meeting, shareholders also voted against a request from Tether, Juventus’ second-largest investor, which had called for pre-emptive rights to be granted to existing shareholders as part of the capital raise. ............ The cryptocurrency company argued this would help prevent share dilution and support a long-term strategic partnership, but its proposal was rejected with 91.7% of votes against. . 5. Massimo Pavan explains why Juventus must win the Turin derby Juventus face Torino this weekend before the players depart for their respective countries ahead of the November international break. The Bianconeri have historically been one of the most competitive sides in Italian football, but this season they have struggled with inconsistency, producing performances that have often fallen short of expectations. The team is now striving to restore stability and deliver more consistent results at the Allianz Stadium. ............ Torino has little to lose and will aim to exploit any weaknesses in Juventus’ performance. Conversely, the Bianconeri face a high-stakes encounter where failure to secure all three points could undermine their momentum and affect confidence ahead of the international break. Massimo Pavan highlighted the significance of the fixture: “The match against Torino is a tough one, with a high degree of risk. After what happened in the league, there’s some enthusiasm, but if you don’t win the derby, you risk compromising everything. And with the break approaching, it’s clear that Juventus will have to approach the match with maximum concentration.” ............ For Juventus, the derby represents both a challenge and an opportunity to consolidate progress under Spalletti. The team must approach the game with discipline, focus and determination to secure victory and maintain momentum heading into the international break. ............ . 6. Cambiaso insists Juventus is in the Serie A title race Andrea Cambiaso has shared his thoughts on Juventus’ aspirations for the current Serie A season, as the team sets its sights on winning the title under the guidance of Luciano Spalletti. After enduring a difficult period before Spalletti’s arrival, Juventus now appear to have regained confidence and direction. The manager’s experience and authority have brought a sense of unity and determination that was previously lacking, helping the players believe once again that they can challenge for the Scudetto. ............ Cambiaso emphasised that Juventus are more confident than at the beginning of the season. This shift in mentality has been a key factor in their resurgence. Under Spalletti, the team has adopted a more balanced and organised style of play, ensuring that every player understands their role and contribution to the overall system. The Bianconeri are aware that consistency will be vital if they are to close the gap on the teams above them. Although they still trail the league leaders, the difference is not substantial, particularly given the unpredictability of this Serie A campaign. Many of the top sides have displayed inconsistency, which has kept the race open and competitive. Juventus now aim to capitalise on this opportunity by stringing together a series of victories that could propel it back into serious contention for the title. ............ Following their recent triumph over Cremonese, Juventus have narrowed the gap further, strengthening their belief in the possibility of success. Cambiaso said: “Juve going for the Scudetto? Right and, I’d say, logical. When he told us in the locker room at Continassa, we all followed him: before Cremona we were six points behind the top, after Cremona we’re four. It’s a question of numbers…” ............ . Read more -> https://www.juvefc.com/cambiaso-insists-juventus-is-in-the-serie-a-title-race/
  7. Juventus closes the door for Marseille to sign their struggling star Jonathan David has struggled to make an impact at Juventus since joining the Bianconeri at the start of this season, leading many to speculate that the club might soon consider moving him on. The Canadian forward was signed with the intention of replacing Dusan Vlahovic, who was expected to depart in the last transfer window. However, David’s performances have fallen short of expectations, and Vlahovic has remained the preferred striker for much of the campaign. ............ These circumstances have led to speculation regarding David’s future, particularly with clubs such as Olympique Marseille reportedly showing interest in bringing him back to Ligue 1. Returning to France could be a logical option for David, given the success he enjoyed during his time at Lille. Despite this, Juventus have made it clear that they are not prepared to part ways with him so quickly. Rather than selling the striker, the club has decided to maintain faith in his abilities and provide him with further opportunities to adapt and succeed in Turin. ............ The decision to retain David demonstrates Juventus’ commitment to giving him time to settle into Serie A and adjust to the demands of Italian football. While his start has been challenging, the club evidently believes in his potential and is prepared to invest in his development through the remainder of the season. ............ . 9. Elkann ‘fully committed to Juventus’ and open to ‘constructive’ collaboration Juventus owner John Elkann insists he and his family remain ‘fully committed’ to the Bianconeri and are ‘open to constructive ideas from all stakeholders who share our ambition and passion for the club.’ ............ “We remain fully committed to Juventus and are proud to be its controlling shareholder for over a century,” Elkann said. Cryptocurrency group Tether has acquired over 10% stake in the club over the last few months, and Elkann opened the door to a possible collaboration: “We are and have always been open to constructive ideas from all stakeholders who share our ambition and passion for the club.” Juventus General Manager Damien Comolli is expected to enter the club’s board of directors as the new CEO. “We support the new board and new management team, as our priority remains to combine strong sporting results with financial discipline,” Elkann concluded. ............ Juventus have recently appointed a new coach, Luciano Spalletti, following disappointing results under Igor Tudor. Spalletti is unbeaten in his first two games as Juventus coach, grabbing a 2-1 win over Cremonese in Serie A and a 1-1 draw against Sporting CP in the Champions League. ............ . 10. Two Juventus midfielders surprisingly snubbed by national teams Juventus duo Khephren Thuram and Weston McKennie will remain in Turin during the international break after being excluded from the call-ups of their respective national teams. The Texan has been a mainstay with the USMNT for years, earning 62 caps, and scoring 11 goals in the process. ............ Likewise, Thuram was called up by Didier Deschamps for the previous international break. He started alongside Adrien Rabiot in the 3-0 win over Azerbaijan, and was then given a second-half cameo in the 2-2 against Iceland. ............ It should be noted that the 24-year-old had been recently struggling with some physical problems that had forced Igor Tudor to drop him from the starting lineup in some of his last matches in charge of Juventus. Therefore, Deschamps might be doing his former club a favour by allowing Thuram to get some rest and subsequently regain his optimal physical condition. ............ . 11. Cambiaso on Calafiori and Arsenal: ‘I study them, Spalletti would say the same’ Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso has admitted that he is a keen admirer of Italy colleague Riccardo Calafiori and his Arsenal teammates, and has explained why he and Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella are currently among the best full-backs around. ............ Cambiaso was asked what he made of the recent comments made by Bianconeri head coach Luciano Spalletti describing him as a ‘3D player’. He replied: “I took it as a compliment, as a different way of describing my characteristics. I think that that’s the way football is going these days, occupying the spaces that we create on the pitch.” Cambiaso was then asked if he sees any other players with similar characteristics to himself and Calafiori, to which he replied: “There’s a lot, if I had to name a name, I’d say Calafiori. He starts at full-back and ends up in attack. ............ “That’s how it is in general with Arsenal. I watch them, I study them, and if you asked Spalletti, I’m sure he’d also say: ‘Yes, I watch the Gunners’.” ............ . 12. Preview:Juventus vs Torino - prediction, team news, lineups Aiming to continue their long dominance of the Turin derby, Italian giants Juventus will host neighbours Torino on Saturday evening. Continuing a rivalry that began back in 1929, Juve are unbeaten in 20 Serie A meetings with Toro - and they come into this season's first Derby della Mole under new management. Match preview After eight games without a win across all competitions, Italy's most successful club finally called upon Luciano Spalletti, who was recently handed an initial contract until the end of the season. The former Napoli coach took charge of Juventus for last week's Serie A clash with Cremonese, when goals from wing-backs Filip Kostic and Andrea Cambiaso secured a 2-1 away win. Victory kept Juve in touch with the top four, but they soon had to switch focus, having made a slow start to their latest continental campaign. With just two points on the board from three Champions League matches, there was a familiar sinking feeling for fans of the Bianconeri when their side conceded an early goal to Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday. Yet, revived striker Dusan Vlahovic hauled them level before the break - and he also tested Sporting goalkeeper Rui Silva twice - though Juventus ultimately failed to find a winner. They may have won just two of their last 11 fixtures, but Juve are still tough to beat on home turf: they have lost only one of their last 31 league games at the Allianz Stadium, keeping 17 clean sheets in the process. So, Spalletti has some proud traditions to defend in his first Derby della Mole, having already managed in both the Rome and Milan city derbies. ............ Juventus Serie A form: D D L L W W Juventus form (all competitions): L L L W W D Torino Serie A form: L D W W D D Team News An advocate of 4-3-3, Spalletti has instead continued with a three-man defence since taking the reins at Juventus - albeit a more fluid version featuring versatile midfielder Teun Koopmeiners. After making a relatively successful start, that shape should be retained this weekend, with Koopmeiners standing in for Lloyd Kelly if the latter is not passed fit. Defensive duo Bremer and Juan Cabal are certainly sidelined by injury, while Vlahovic must overcome a minor flexor problem to keep his place ahead of Lois Openda and Jonathan David. ............ 13. Will Vlahovic & Kelly recover for Torino Derby? The latest from the training ground Juventus have received mixed news regarding the conditions of Dusan Vlahovic and Lloyd Kelly ahead of the weekend’s clash against Torino. On Saturday, the Bianconeri will host their crosstown rivals in the first edition of the Derby della Mole of the season. ............ During the clash against the Portuguese champions, Vlahovic asked to be substituted after feeling a strain in his hamstring. But the Serbian has already resumed training with the group. The 25-year-old has been spotted working alongside his teammates at Continassa on Thursday, which should be enough to dispel any injury fears. ............ Nevertheless, some reports believe that the Italian manager might seize the opportunity to hand Jonathan David a starting berth, while resorting to Vlahovic in the second half, especially if the team is still chasing a goal. On the contrary, Kelly has yet to register any noticeable improvement in recent days. The Englishman has been struggling with a calf strain that ruled him out of the last two contests against Cremonese and Sporting. The 26-year-old is still training on his own, which means he’s unlikely to recover in time to earn a call-up this weekend. ............ . 14. Why Juventus cancelled Spalletti press conference ahead of derby against Torino Luciano Spalletti will not speak to the media on Friday ahead of Juventus’ Derby della Mole clash with Torino at the Allianz Stadium. The new Bianconeri head coach will skip his traditional pre-match press conference, with Juventus confirming that the engagement has been cancelled due to the club’s upcoming shareholders’ meeting. ............ Given the significance of the occasion, Juventus opted to forgo the usual press duties and maintain focus on the internal event. Spalletti will instead complete preparations with his squad behind closed doors before facing Baroni’s Torino side on Saturday evening. ............ The derby marks another key test for the new coach, who seems to have got off to a good start with Juventus. ............ . 15. Spalletti considers starting struggling Juventus star Juventus boss Luciano Spalletti might decide to give Jonathan David the opportunity to prove his worth against Torino. The Bianconeri have been showing signs of improvement since the arrival of the experienced manager last week, even though they failed to beat Sporting CP in Tuesday’s Champions League contest. ............ The new Juventus manager resorted to the Canadian’s services in the final stretch of the match against Sporting. Unfortunately for the 25-year-old, he squandered a golden opportunity to win the match in the 93rd minute by heading the ball straight into the goalkeeper. ............ The manager is now considering starting the former Lille bomber in the Derby della Mole clash against Torino on Saturday. 16. Juventus & Inter Milan set sights on rising Serie A midfielder Juventus and Inter could be embroiled in a tug-of-war for young Udinese midfielder Arthur Atta, who has been making large strides in recent months. ............ The Bianconeri and the Nerazzurri have both registered their interest in Atta, in addition to Napoli, who could join the Northern Italian giants in the race. The 22-year-old is Rennes native who began his career at his hometown club, before moving to Metz in 2019. ............ This season, Atta has managed to elevated his game to a whole new level. He has already contributed with a goal and two assists in his 10 Serie A appearances. He also scored a goal in his solitary Coppa Italia outing this term. ............ The Frenchman combines pace, physical strength with technical skills. His ability to make timely runs to the opposition’s area renders him a natural box-to-box midfielder. 17. Spalletti asks Juventus to keep revitalised out-of-contract player Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti is reportedly keen to maintain the services of Weston McKennie, who regained a starting berth. The American is the club’s second-longest-serving outfield player after Daniele Rugani, having signed for the Bianconeri in the summer of 2020. ............ MacKennie started as an attacking midfielder when the new manager made his bow in Cremona, and then maintained his place in the starting XI in Tuesday’s Champions League contest against Sporting CP, albeit he started as a right wingback, before later transitioning into a high role. ............ The manager has already requested McKennie’s stay. The versatile star is currently running on an expiring contract, and has already been linked with a potential move to Major League Soccer. ............ Last season, McKennie was said to be on the verge of penning a renewal. However, the departures of Thiago Motta in March and Cristiano Giuntoli in May hampered the deal. On the other hand, the new management led by Damien Comolli appeared less keen on keeping the former Schalke man in Turin. Nevertheless, with Spalletti specifically asking the directors to act on this front, we could soon witness new meetings between the two parties. ............ . 18. Juventus willing to break salary cap to keep Chelsea & Spurs target Juventus are reportedly determined to keep Dusan Vlahovic at the club after reclaiming his starting berth under Luciano Spalletti. The Serbian supposedly had one foot out the door prior to the arrival of the 66-year-old manager. ............ The striker’s improved form has changed the club’s plans. Juventus General Director Damien Comolli had apparently given up on reaching an agreement with the player’s agent Darko Ristic, resigning to losing the player on a free transfer at the end of the season. Nevertheless, Vlahovic himself admitted that his future has yet to be written while Spalletti claimed that the centre-forward would like to stay in Turin. ............ As the source explains, Juventus have set a self-imposed salary cap, refusing to pay any player wages beyond €6 million per year. And yet, the hierarchy could make an exception for Vlahovic, who is currently enjoying a net salary of €12 million thanks to the lucrative contract handed by the club’s former management (Andrea Agnelli, Maurizio Arrivabene and Federico Cherubini). The Bianconeri are willing to offer the Serbian international a salary of €8 million per year. ............ . 19. Pavan believes Juventus next game will determine if they are on the right path Juventus have shown encouraging signs of progress in their recent performances under new manager Luciano Spalletti. Despite being held to a draw by Sporting Club in their latest Champions League fixture, the team’s improvement compared to previous weeks has been noticeable. The Bianconeri appear more organised, energetic, and confident, suggesting that Spalletti’s influence is beginning to take effect. ............ In their two matches under Spalletti so far, Juventus have looked far more cohesive and purposeful than in recent outings under the previous manager. The players seem to have embraced the new tactical approach, showing greater intensity and creativity, particularly in transition. This sense of renewed energy has rekindled optimism among supporters that the team can soon re-enter the title race. However, as with any managerial transition, consistency remains key. Juventus will need to build on these positive performances by turning encouraging signs into concrete results. The derby against Torino offers the perfect stage for Spalletti’s side to demonstrate that their improvement is sustainable rather than fleeting. ............ Journalist Massimo Pavan has shared his thoughts on Juventus’ recent displays, emphasising that the weekend’s match will provide a clearer indication of their true progress. He said: “I saw a new light, but on Saturday we’ll have our definitive answer. Against Sporting, we finally had the reaction we hadn’t seen in the games against Como or Lazio. Playing at home helps, but let’s remember that even against Atalanta and Borussia, despite going behind, we managed to draw. The problem of conceding goals remains evident: we’re conceding too many. On Saturday, we’ll see if the light we showed tonight is real. We need to win without any ifs or buts to confirm the positive signs seen on the pitch.” ............ . 20. Spalletti’s micro management: Three new roles imposed at Juventus With Luciano Spalletti now at the helm, things have drastically changed at Juventus, starting with the daily life at Continassa. The Serie A giants resorted to the experienced manager’s services after sacking Igor Tudor last week on the back of a horrendous run of results. ............ Spalletti immediately implemented three rules upon his arrival at the club. First of all, the 66-year-old has been in close contact with the staff entrusted with the maintenance of the training pitches at Continassa. The manager has reportedly instructed them to cut the grass short, while identifying the length required for all three pitches, as he wants the ball to move rapidly. This tactic is designed to improve the players’ ball control. ............ Spalletti had prohibited cell phone use during team meals, a tactic designed to strengthen player bonds by encouraging communication. Finally, with the former Italy boss in charge, the starting lineup is no longer revealed on the eve of the contest, but only a few hours before the kickoff. The aim is to keep everyone on their toes and avoid any complacency. ............ . Read more -> https://www.juvefc.com/rules-luciano-spalletti-juventus/
  21. “It’s a matter of timing,” Zhegrova reacts to Juventus draw after his return Edon Zhegrova made his long-awaited return from injury during Juventus’ Champions League fixture against Sporting Club last night, marking an important moment for both the player and the team. His comeback came during the second half, as he stepped onto the pitch determined to contribute to Juventus’ ongoing pursuit of consistency and success. ............ Zhegrova, who joined Juventus during the summer transfer window, has faced challenges with injuries and fitness since his arrival, limiting his playing opportunities so far. His return to action symbolises a fresh start, not only for him but also for the club’s attacking options. Coming on as a substitute in the second half, he looked eager to make an impression and help his team maintain their recent momentum. ............ Following the 1-1 draw at the Allianz Stadium, Zhegrova took to social media to express his optimism and fighting spirit. On Instagram, he wrote: “Is all about timing! We keep fighting.” This short but meaningful message reflects both his personal resilience and the collective mindset within the Juventus squad. Despite the disappointment of not securing a win, his words capture the essence of perseverance and belief that define successful teams. ............ . 22. Oppini comments on Juventus attacking struggles Juventus’ attacking inefficiency was once again on display during their Champions League encounter against Sporting Club last night, as the Bianconeri failed to convert several clear opportunities into goals. Despite dominating large parts of the match and creating multiple chances, they were unable to secure the victory that many had anticipated. ............ Several moments stood out as examples of Juventus’ ongoing struggles in front of goal. Despite generating numerous scoring opportunities, they lacked the composure and precision required to make them count. One of the clearest chances fell to Jonathan David in the closing stages of the match, a moment that could have sealed all three points for Juve. However, as has been the case in several recent fixtures, Juventus failed to take advantage of key moments. These missed chances have become symptomatic of a larger issue within the team’s attacking structure. While they continue to create opportunities through effort and possession, their finishing touch has not matched the quality expected from a club of their stature. The draw served as another reminder of how their offensive inefficiency can undermine otherwise solid performances. ............ Football analyst Francesco Oppini offered his assessment of Juventus’ recurring attacking difficulties, providing insight into their lack of cutting edge. He remarked: “If you shoot ‘ON GOAL’ 10 times and only score 1-1, there’s a problem in the offensive phase, but if you don’t go beyond the equaliser, even with the chance that came to #David at the end, there’s something else too! It’s true that with 11 points you can qualify for the playoffs, but today, after four matches, you’re at 3 points.” ............ . 23. Le Pagelle: Juventus vs. Sporting CP It was an excruciating day at the J Stadium on Tuesday, as Juventus came agonizingly close to a winning goal against Sporting CP, only to be denied by last-second blocks, misjudged runs, or high-level saves by goalkeeper Rui Silva. In short, rotten luck. ............ MICHELE DI GREGORIO - 6. ............ PIERRE KALULU - 7.5. Easily one of the best players on the night on either side. He was second on the team with three tackles, held his side of the back three very well, and picked and chose his moments to move forward and help supplement the attack. He finished with three key passes, tied for the game high with Khéphren Thuram, and how he didn’t come away with at least one assist is beyond my comprehension. The balls he put in for Vlahovic in the first half and David at the end of the game were superb, yet Silva managed to get hands to both of the resulting headers. FEDERICO GATTI - 6. He didn’t light up the stat sheet defensively—for once the defenders didn’t have a whole lot of opportunity to rack up numbers—but his success on the day was clear in the statistics of two other players. Fotis Iannoidis and Luis Suárez (not that one), Sporting’s top two strikers, combined for zero (0) shots in this contest. TEUN KOOPMEINERS - 6. I wasn’t expecting Luciano Spalletti to send Koopmeiners back out in the back three against higher-level competition, especially in the Champions League. In the initial stages when Sporting looked like they might run away with things it looked like the communication in the back was all over the place, especially on his side—which would make sense given that he’s done this in one game and less than half a dozen training sessions. But he seemed to settle in, making two tackles and holding his own as Juve started to take control of the game. The really interesting thing, though, was the occasional line-breaking pass from his spot on the back line. This is likely what Luciano Spalletti was envisioning when he decided to put Koopmeiners here, and having those kind of balls to feed on further upfield could have a huge impact on the attack. It’s worth watching to see where this goes. WESTON McKENNIE - 5.5. ............ MANUEL LOCATELLI - 6.5. ............ KHÉPHREN THURAM - 6. Made three key passes, including the assist on Dusan Vlahovic’s equalizer on a pass that was far more complicated to make than it looked. Completed 93.9 percent of his overall passes and aided the defense with a pair of interceptions. It’s good to see him making those big runs through midfield again, but this grade was dinged half a point or so for the egregious misses he had on some shots midway through the second half. ANDREA CAMBIASO - 6. ............ FRANCISCO CONCEIÇÃO - 6. ............ KENAN YILDIZ - 6. Made a huge effort but seemed a bit off on final product. There were times he couldn’t get past defenders and into shooting positions we’ve seen him get to this year. Either his knee really is hurting him and disrupting his play, or he was simply fatigued from a heavy workload this year. DUSAN VLAHOVIC - 7. Played like a man on a mission today. Denied early by two smart saves from Rui Silva, but it looked like all that did was make him angry over not scoring. Good finish to push the ball hard past the keeper at the near post. By the time he was withdrawn, he had taken six shots and put every one of them on target—something I don’t think I’ve ever seen. SUBS FILIP KOSTIC - 5.5. ............ EDON ZHEGROVA - 5.5. Drew three fouls in his time on the pitch but didn’t quite show the quality we know he can display in his first game back from injury. VASILIJE ADZIC - NR. ............ FABIO MIRETTI - NR. Well look who’s here! Miretti made his season debut Tuesday and actually looked pretty good for his first eight minutes after a long time away. Picked up a key pass and completed all 12 attempts overall. JONATHAN DAVID - NR. Ok, there are a lot of people up in arms over David’s failure to score at the end of the game. Head it into the ground! To the left or the right of the keeper! I’d like to point out that Kalulu’s ball, while fantastic, came in on a trajectory that it didn’t really allow David to jump, meaning he had to hope to beat Silva with something high—and nearly did. That also probably affected his ability to aim. In the end he delivered a powerful header that would’ve been a goal had Silva not again made a fantastic save. MANAGER ANALYSIS It’s going to be very interesting to see where Spalletti eventually takes this team tactically, but what he has done so far is fascinating. As I said before, I was very surprised that he stuck with Koopmeiners in the back against a team with far more quality than Cremonese (no disrespect to the Grigiorossi), but the multi-line passes that the Dutchman occasionally pulled out were the kind of pass this team hasn’t been very good at over the last few years, and having Koopmeiners back there to provide it is an intriguing prospect. How far that goes, of course, depends on where Spalletti goes with his tactics, which is still impossible to determine after only six days on the job. But he has Juve playing at a very good clip right now, and the attack is looking quite dangerous indeed. But for a little luck, Juve would have won this game. If they play the same way on Saturday, they could make Torino very uncomfortable. ............ . 24. Tacchinardi insists Juventus not good enough to be champions With Luciano Spalletti now leading Juventus, expectations have risen sharply both among supporters and neutral observers, many of whom believe that the Bianconeri should be strong contenders for the Serie A title by the end of the season. The club has entrusted the experienced Italian coach with the task of reigniting their domestic dominance and restoring belief after a period of inconsistency. ............ The Juventus hierarchy is confident that Spalletti is the right man to guide the team forward. His contract currently runs until the end of the season, with the option for renewal depending on whether he secures Champions League qualification. The arrangement reflects both the club’s immediate expectations and its long-term vision to restore stability and success under his guidance. In support of their new manager, Juventus are expected to strengthen the squad during the upcoming transfer window, ensuring Spalletti has the necessary resources to compete at the highest level. Known for his tactical intelligence and ability to extract the best from his players, the former Napoli manager has won trophies both in Italy and abroad, proving his capacity to deliver results when given the right tools. ............ Despite the optimism surrounding Spalletti’s arrival, not everyone is convinced that the current Juventus squad has what it takes to win the Scudetto this season. Former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi shared a measured perspective on the situation. He said: “Spalletti? He seems like a very charismatic coach. He showed he can play real football at Napoli, where he played spectacular football. Juve needed a leader. We’re really curious to see how he’ll be received at the Maradona stadium, but right now he’s very important for Juve. For me, he’s the best coach ever; Juve doesn’t have the squad to aim for the Scudetto.” ............ . 25. Juventus legend Del Piero surprised by Spalletti’s decision on David Alessandro Del Piero was surprised that Luciano Spalletti didn’t introduce either Jonathan David or Lois Openda as replacements for Dusan Vlahovic in a 1-1 draw against Sporting CP on Tuesday. ............ Vlahovic scored the equaliser for Juventus in the first half, but when he was subbed off at minute 83, the central midfielder Vasilije Adžić took his place on the field. By doing so, Spalletti also moved Kenan Yildiz into a centre-forward role for a few minutes before David was ultimately introduced at minute 87 with little chance to leave his mark. ............ “I was a bit disappointed by the final 15 minutes. Vlahovic was subbed off, but neither David nor Openda were introduced,” Del Piero said. “Spalletti put Yildiz in a more advanced position, but he’s not a No.9, and he decided to strengthen the midfield without involving the players Juventus invested in. This left me perplexed. In this moment, Spalletti is studying the team, but it’s something Juventus have to fix because they struggle to score goals. If you invest so much, you must make the most of it.” ............ Juventus will probably need from eight to nine points to qualify for the Champions League playoff, while a direct place in the Round of 16 seems practically impossible. They have four Champions League games remaining against Bodo/Glimt, Pafos, Benfica and Monaco. . Read more -> https://football-italia.net/juventus-del-piero-surprised-spalletti-david/
