  1. Nicola Amoruso explains why he thinks Juventus can win the Scudetto Former Juventus star Nicola Amoruso has shared his thoughts on the club’s chances of winning the league this season, expressing his admiration for Thiago Motta’s team. The Bianconeri have started Motta’s tenure in impressive form, and their fans are thrilled with the team’s performances. ............ However, not everyone shares this prediction, as many believe Inter Milan is well-positioned to defend its title. However, Amoruso is confident, and he has his reasons. “There are several factors that make me optimistic, first of all, Thiago Motta was chosen by a winner like Giuntoli and the way of forming the team tactically by focusing on the individual who must work for the collective by making himself totally available will work because the way he does it is very entertaining for the players, even if it requires concentration and sacrifice. And what is not insignificant, Thiago Motta won as a player and he carries this with him as a coach. In short, for me Juve is in pole position to win”. ............ 2. “Patient builder” Guido Vaciago explains Motta’s approach to work Beating Genoa yesterday means Thiago Motta has successfully navigated another challenging period as Juventus manager, as his team continues to adapt to his new system. ............ Motta will need time, as the team is still adjusting to his tactical approach, so progress must be taken one step at a time. The manager has already won over several fans and pundits, including Guido Vaciago, who has now shared insights into Motta’s approach to rebuilding the team. He said: “Thiago Motta is a patient builder and adds everything one little piece at a time, more concerned with not taking any steps back than forcing those forward. ” ............ 3. “Whoever is a Juve player” Danilo delighted after making 200th club appearance Danilo started in Juventus’ match against Genoa, and the defender was delighted to have made his 200th appearance for the club. Since Thiago Motta became Juventus’ manager, Danilo has struggled to maintain a regular role in the team and is working hard to regain his place in the starting XI. ............ For now, he is pleased to have returned to the pitch for Juventus, expressing that the club has become an integral part of his life. The Juve captain said: “Juventus has become an extension of my home, of my family! Reaching the milestone of 200 games is something that I will keep as one of the most important goals of my life. Together with the certainty that whoever is a Juve player, is a Juve player forever !” ............ 4. Francisco Conceicao is happy with the way he is integrating at Juventus Francisco Conceição returned to full fitness and scored a goal as Juventus defeated Genoa yesterday. The Portuguese star is thrilled with how he is settling in at the club. ............ With the FC Porto loanee back in action, Juve now boasts an exciting attack, much to the delight of the fans. However, Conceição will need time to fully adapt to the demands of his new manager and the team’s system. Speaking after Juve’s win against Genoa, Conceicao said: “I’m very happy with my first goal, I’m very happy. I’m integrating really well into this team.” ............ 5. Contro il Genoa la 200esima presenza di Danilo in bianconero. Complimenti capitano!
  6. Juventus 3 - Genoa 0: Initial reaction and random observations I wouldn’t have blamed you for having the type of “Here we go again” thoughts as Juventus walked off the field after the halftime whistle blew at the Marassi on Saturday night. Mainly because I was having them, too, after watching have yet another virtually non-existent half in front of goal. ............ Following a first half in which Juventus’ problems from the previous three Serie A outings were certainly present again, the same can’t be said for how the Bianconeri came out of the halftime break. Within the first 10 minutes of the second half, Juventus had broken its lengthy domestic scoring drought that dates back to the final minutes of their 3-0 win over Hellas Verona in late August. It was fitting that, just like in that win, it was Dusan Vlahovic getting a brace to lead the way offensively, scoring a penalty and then hammering home a Teun Koopmeiners dime of an assist less than seven minutes later. Throw in Francisco Conceição’s late goal and Juventus were able to secure a 3-0 win over Genoa to get back on that winning feeling against somebody in Serie A once again. ............ And let me tell ya something, folks: I certainly like the trend of winning 3-0 rather than the trend of playing out scoreless draws because Juve was unable to do much of anything in front of goal. I’m guessing that I’m not the only one who feels that way; it’s not like this is some sort of controversial opinion that will split this blog into factions of where they stand. ............ The best thing about it all is that Motta and his squad saw what they were struggling with, made changes both tactically and mentally, and then went out and executed it just as well as they could have hoped. The execution is what this team has been lacking of late, but not against Genoa. This time, they got it right both with approach and execution in the second half. And for that, we can be thankful because it meant the streak of nil-nils died a happy death. RIP to the Juventus domestic goal drought. Let us never see anything like you ever again. RANDOM THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS Playing in front of an empty stadium took many of us back to four years ago when the pandemic was still raging in many parts of the world and we could hear every single word Carlo Pinsoglio was yelling to his teammates from the bench. I don’t miss those days. ............ Juventus xG in the first half: 0.04. Two shots in the first half — two! If you barely shoot, you have even less of a chance of scoring. Come on, fellas, this isn’t all that tough to figure out. Juventus passes in the first half: 299. Genoa passes in the first half: 145. Thank goodness that second half happened or else I would be very grumpy. Teun Koopmeiners with a pretty assist on Vlahovic’s second and a slick dummy on Juve’s third goal of the day? Well, that is what I love to see from my new favorite Dutchman. Francisco Conceição is low to the ground, extremely skilled, very quick and I think I’m starting to really enjoy him being at Juventus. Welcome back, young man. Keep doing what you’ve done in your first couple of appearance in bianconero. Douglas Luiz was the other half of the Portuguese-centric double substitution along with Conceição, and this was easily the Brazilian midfielder’s best showing as a Juve player. In about half an hour of game time, Douglas Luiz completed 93% of his passes, had a pair of key passes and had one hell of a pretty lob over the top that led to Vlahovic nearly getting a hat trick. That’ll do just fine, Douglas. More of that, please. I don’t know who needed a game like that more, Vlahovic or those who are frothing at the mouth every time he goes a couple of games without scoring. Suddenly he’s tied atop the Serie A scoring charts. Imagine that with all the heat he’s gotten so far this season. ............ Jonas Rouhi was not great but also not a total disaster. For a first-ever Serie A start, that’s fine with me because we all know those nerves must have been pumping early on. ............ Pierre Kalulu, signing of the summer? Just go give Milan that €14 million now, Cristiano. Kalulu’s worth it. ............ Good on Motta for getting some of his most important players a rest in the second half once they had control of things after going up 2-0. Those are some minutes that a few players — like, say, Kenan Yildiz — are probably happy not to have on their legs. Closing thought: Will Juventus win 3-0 or have a scoreless draw against RB Leipzig on Wednesday? You know, since those are the only two options we apparently have this season. 7. Juventus manager Thiago Motta praises team’s strength after Genoa victory Following Juventus’ 3-0 win over Genoa, secured by Vlahovic’s penalty, manager Thiago Motta shared his thoughts on the team’s performance in the post-match interview. Motta began by discussing the match itself: “Apart from the tactical change, I said very little between the first and second half. The players always stay alone for a few minutes and try to tell each other what’s needed. I’m very happy with how those on the bench participated as well. This is a strong group composed of strong players.” The Juventus coach then focused on Vlahovic’s performance: “ ............ It’s not that I wasn’t happy when I substituted him, but I simply needed something different. He’s a very important player for us, and he knows that well.” Motta concluded by addressing the team’s defensive solidity: “It’s an important statistic because it shows that this is a very solid team, from the attack all the way to the defense.” ............ 8. Vlahovic explains controversial Juventus goal celebration Dusan Vlahovic explains his controversial goal celebration after bagging a brace in the Juventus win over Genoa. ‘I’ve learned that you are the best when you score and a flop when you don’t.’ ............ “The most important thing is that we won and now we hope to continue like this,” Vlahovic told DAZN following the 3-0 victory. Vlahovic ‘does talking on the pitch’ The Serbia international had something of a controversial goal celebration, making a hand gesture to suggest ‘blah blah’ of people talking about him. “It’s no problem, people talk, I’ve learned that you are the best when you score and a flop when you don’t. I do my talking on the pitch,” shrugged the €80m signing. ............ “It doesn’t matter if I score or not, the important thing is that the team wins.” ............ 9. Juventus Player Ratings vs Genoa: Vlahovic Silences his Detractors Juventus (4-1-4-1) Mattia Perin – 6.5 ............ Danilo – 6 The Juventus captain looked rusty in the early going, giving away an early freekick and fumbling a clearance, but he grew stronger as the match wore on, especially after switching to a central role. Pierre Kalulu – 6.5 A solid display from the Frenchman who started at centre-back before reverting to right-back in the second period. He’s cementing himself as an important player in Thiago Motta’s plans. Gleison Bremer – 7 The former Torino man produced another formidable showing at the back. Never gave Andrea Pinamonti and Vitinho a sniff at goal. Jonas Rouhi – 5.5 The young Swede seemed nervous on his full senior debut, giving away possession cheaply on a few occasions. He also struggled in his duel with Alessandro Zanoli. But he played a role in the buildup on the second goal. Nicoló Fagioli – 6.5 ............ Nico Gonzalez – 6 ............ Weston McKennie – 6.5 ............ Teun Koopmeiners – 7 The Dutchman is slowly but surely establishing himself as the most elemental player in the Old Lady’s midfield. Provided the assist for Vlahovic’s second with a clever vertical play and set up Conceicao with a cheeky dummy. Kenan Yildiz – 6 A decent showing from the Turkish teenager, even though Juventus fans will be expecting more from their Number 10. Had an important in stimulating the spot-kick, but seemed more dangerous when attacking from the center. Dusan Vlahovic – 7 It’s almost impossible to overstate just how important it was for the Serbian to end his goal drought. Showed his composure with a powerful spot-kick before bagging another with a clinical finish. He was very close to sealing the hattrick but was denied by the woodwork. Substitutes Francisco Conceicao – 7 A superb cameo from the young Portuguese who marked his return from injury by scoring his maiden Serie A goal. Genoa could sense danger every time he had the ball at his feet. Douglas Luiz – 6 ............ Khephren Thuram – 6.5 ............ Nicolò Savona – N/A Andrea Cambiaso – N/A Read more -> https://cultofcalcio.com/juventus-player-ratings-vs-genoa-vlahovic-silences-his-detractors/
  10. “It happened to me, too.” Douglas Costa backs Luiz to come good after adapting Former Juventus star Douglas Costa has backed Douglas Luiz to eventually become a successful signing. Luiz is currently struggling to find his best form at Juventus, and the midfielder is already under pressure to deliver. ............ Based on his performances so far, Luiz seems like a misfit, but it might be too early to make that judgment. Costa believes that Luiz will eventually shine. ............ “For Douglas Luiz, a period of adaptation is normal when you come from another championship. It happened to me too. I came from a top club like Bayern, but Serie A is a particular tournament. Douglas has great technique and imagination: all you need is patience. Douglas Luiz is beyond discussion and I’m convinced that he will carve out an important role like the one Pjanic had in our Juve. I hope Douglas wins 3 Scudetti like I did. Just to make you understand” ............ Read more -> https://www.juvefc.com/it-happened-to-me-too-douglas-costa-backs-luiz-to-come-good-after-adapting/
  11. Player Ratings: Genoa 0-3 Juventus – Bianconeri wake up in the second half It was not a spectacular Juventus performance, but a brace from the MOTM, Dusan Vlahovic, helped the Bianconeri secure a 3-0 win against Genoa behind closed doors. Juventus needed the minimum effort to beat Genoa 3-0 at Marassi on Saturday. ............ Genoa vs Juventus – player ratings Genoa (3-5-2): Gollini 6; De Winter 4.5, Bani 5, Vasquez 5; Zanoli 5.5 (86′ Sabelli N/A), Frendrup 6, Badelj 6 (26′ Bohinen 5.5), Miretti 6 (69′ Kasa 5.5), Ahanor 5 (69′ Matturro 5.5); Pinamonti 5.5, Vitinha 5 (69′ Ankeye 5.5). Coach: Gilardino 5. ............ Juventus (4-2-3-1): Perin 6.5; Danilo 6, Kalulu 6.5 (74′ Savona 6), Bremer 6.5, Rouhi 6 (74′ Cambiaso 6); McKennie 6 (62′ Douglas Luiz 6), Fagioli 6.5; Nico Gonzalez 6 (62′ Conceiçao 7), Koopmeiners 7, Yildiz 6 (74′ Thuram 6.5); Vlahovic 7.5. Coach: Motta 6.5. Best Juventus player – Vlahovic 7.5: Silenced critics with his goal celebration. His second strike was simply superb. Such a quick and powerful execution. That is precisely what Juventus expect from him. He hadn’t netted for a month. Now he has four goals in six Serie A matches. Top scorer with Mateo Retegui and Christian Pulisic. Coach: Thiago Motta 6.5 – Juventus’ first half was clearly not good enough. Too slow, too sloppy and too similar to the Juventus of the recent past. Juventus made the most of it and eventually dominated for 90 minutes. Next up is RB Leipzig in the Champions League. 12. Genoa vs Juventus 0-3: Goals Flow Again for Juventus After a third successive 0-0 draw Juventus were trying everything to get their attack firing properly again. They travelled to Genoa this afternoon to try and end their scoring drought. Whatever Motta did in training this week obviously worked as they came away with a comprehensive 0-3 win as the goals flow again for Juventus. The game was played behind closed doors after violent clashes between Genoa and Sampdoria supporters during the week that saw 8 arrests made. The Rossoblu lost that Coppa Italia game on penalties so their was plenty of motivation to get back to winning ways. In a bizzare turn of events a fire started in the VAR room pre-game at the Luigi Ferraris stadium. While talk of the game being postponed died down it was still unclear if referee Andrea Colombo would be able to use the pitchside monitor. ............ Juventus enjoyed the majority of possession while Genoa sat back but, as is becoming habit, struggled to break down the opposition. ............ Juventus got the break they were hoping for two minutes into the second half when they were awarded a penalty. Koni De Winter obviously handled the ball to take it out of Yildiz’s path and the referee was well placed to see the action. He pointed to the spot and Dusan Vlahovic stepped up to blast Juve in front and get their first league goal since August. The Bianconeri kicked on from there. With 55 minutes on the clock Vlahovic doubled their lead as he took on a brilliant crossfield ball from Teun Koopmeiners with one touch and found the corner with his left foot. Suddenly it was all coming together for Juventus. ............ Motta was confident enough to make two changes with half an hour to play, Douglas Luiz and Francisco Conceicao being introduced. The latter immediately caused trouble out wide, putting in a great ball that Koopmeiners smacked against the underside of the crossbar from close range. ............ Juventus wanted to put the cherry on top and with a minute left Conceicao did just that when he drifted in off the right to confidently stroke home a Thuram pass. The Portuguese attacker put in a great performance today and got the goal he deserved. Motta will be a relieved man as the goals flow again for Juventus in Serie A. He’ll be hoping this wasn’t a one-off from Vlahovic either as both team and player look to build momentum. . Read more -> https://cultofcalcio.com/genoa-vs-juventus-0-3-goals-flow-again-for-juventus/
  13. The Dusan Vlahovic show gets Juventus back to winning ways Juve earned a 3-0 win against Genoa this evening as they returned to winning ways in Serie A. It was a slow start to the game, with nothing impressive in attack during the opening 20 minutes. ............ Thiago Motta knew his team couldn’t afford another stalemate, and his players responded almost immediately after the break. Vlahovic converted a superb penalty to open the scoring for the Old Lady, which brought them to life. The Serbian soon added a second, thanks to a stunning pass from Teun Koopmeiners. Juve now controlled the game and could have scored a third if the bar hadn’t denied Koopmeiners. ............ Just after Mattia Perin made a great save to preserve Juve’s clean sheet, Francisco Conceicao sealed the win with Juve’s third goal. This was a performance to be proud of, and their fans will be delighted. Read more -> https://www.juvefc.com/the-dusan-vlahovic-show-gets-juventus-back-to-winning-ways/
