Concern for Juventus as Kenan Yildiz asked to be rested against Lazio Juventus are worried about the condition of Kenan Yildiz, who has reportedly requested some rest ahead of Sunday’s clash against Lazio. The young forward is considered an irreplaceable player in Igor Tudor’s plans, so he has started in each of the club’s 10 fixtures this season, registering two goals and four assists in the process. Only Pierre Kalulu and Lloyd Kelly have collected more minutes than the Turkiye international. ............ In his pre-match press conference, Tudor revealed that Yildiz is also suffering from a slight knee problem, which has been hampering his performances. While the manager didn’t specify the player’s condition, it's as patellar tendinopathy. The source believes that this issue can be managed while avoiding a spell on the sidelines, but the attacker’s playing time must be carefully managed. ............ The report adds that Yildiz himself has asked to be rested against Lazio, so he’s expected to start the contest on the bench, before receiving a second-half cameo. Therefore, Tudor could shift to a 4-4-2 formation, with Dusan Vlahovic and Jonathan David starting alongside one another for the first time, with Francisco Conceicao and Weston McKennie take the wings. ............ With Juventus playing twice a week, Tudor will certainly have to drop Yildiz on a few occasions, as losing his most influential player to injury would be a devastating blow at this stage. . Lazio vs Juventus probable lineups: Tudor to finally unleash striking duo? Juventus will be keen to put an end to their negative streak when they take on Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Igor Tudor’s men haven’t tasted victory in their last seven outings across all competitions, and are now coming off back-to-back defeats to Como and Real Madrid. ............ Tudor is considering a 4-4-2 system spearheaded by Dusan Vlahovic and Jonathan David. This would be the first time these two strikers play side by side from the first minute. On the other hand, Kenan Yildiz would be rested for the first time in months. The Turkiye international was the stand-in captain at the Santiago Bernabeu, but wasn’t able to produce the goods. ............ With Khephren Thuram picking up a slight knock in midweek, Teun Koopmeiners and Manuel Locatelli should start in the double pivot, while the versatile Weston McKennie takes the left wing, and Francisco Conceicao operates on the opposite flank. Finally, the backline will consist of Pierre Kalulu, Federico Gatti, Lloyd Kelly and Andrea Cambiaso, with Michele Di Gregorio in goal. ............ Lazio & Juventus probable lineups Lazio (4-3-3): Provedel; Lazzari, Gila, Romagnoli, Marusic; Guendouzi, Cataldi, Basic; Isaksen, Dia, Zaccagni. Juventus (4-4-2): Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Gatti, Kelly, Cambiaso; Conceicao, Locatelli, Koopmeiners, McKennie; David, Vlahovic. . SS Lazio vs Juventus: Preview and Prediction Two of Serie A’s most storied clubs meet on Sunday night at Stadio Olimpico, each hoping to reignite faltering campaigns. Lazio and Juventus have both struggled to live up to expectations so far, and this fixture arrives at a crucial point for managers Maurizio Sarri and Igor Tudor, whose teams are each desperate for stability and momentum. Juventus head to Rome in the midst of one of their toughest spells in recent memory. After a 2-0 league defeat to Como last weekend and a midweek Champions League loss to Real Madrid, the Bianconeri find themselves in the middle of a worrying slide. Their 1-0 defeat at the Bernabeu was their third straight match without a goal, extending their scoring drought past the 300-minute mark. Despite a solid defensive structure, Juventus’s lack of cutting edge in the final third has been glaring. Dusan Vlahovic and Lois Openda both squandered key opportunities against Real Madrid, continuing a run of wasteful finishing that has cost them valuable points. Their last goal came from Francisco Conceicao against Villarreal over three weeks ago, underlining the team’s current creative stagnation. The loss to Como also snapped an 11-match unbeaten run in Serie A, though many of those results were draws, a pattern that reflects Juve’s broader inconsistency this season. Still, the Turin giants can take some solace in history: they have failed to score in only one of their last 29 away matches against Lazio, a streak they will hope continues this weekend. Manager Igor Tudor faces mounting pressure to steady the ship. His side’s last two defeats have come amid questions about tactical balance, and he will need both structure and spark if Juventus are to reverse their slide. ............ This match pits two tacticians with distinct philosophies against each other. Igor Tudor prefers a compact, high-energy 3-4-2-1 system built around pressing and vertical transitions, but Juventus’s execution of that approach has been inconsistent. Expect Manuel Locatelli and Khephren Thuram to anchor midfield, with creative responsibility falling to Kenan Yildiz and Francisco Conceicao behind Jonathan David. Maurizio Sarri, meanwhile, will stick with his trademark 4-3-3 structure, emphasizing controlled buildup and wide overloads. ............ Given both sides’ recent attacking struggles, control of midfield tempo could determine the outcome. Lazio’s slow buildup might play into Juventus’s pressing traps, but the visitors’ confidence in front of goal remains fragile. ............ Team News & Tactics SS Lazio Probable Lineup (4-3-3): Provedel; Lazzari, Gila, Romagnoli, Marusic; Guendouzi, Cataldi, Basic; Isaksen, Dia, Zaccagni Juventus Juventus enter the trip to Rome with a near full-strength squad, though a few key absences continue to shape Igor Tudor’s lineup decisions. The defensive unit remains without Gleison Bremer, who is sidelined with a hamstring problem, depriving the Bianconeri of their most commanding presence at the back. In addition, wing-back Juan Cabal is unavailable due to a muscular issue, limiting Tudor’s options on the left flank. Midfielder Manuel Locatelli, who started on the bench against Real Madrid, is expected to be recalled to the starting lineup and resume his leadership role in central midfield. His return would likely come at the expense of Weston McKennie, whose recent form has been inconsistent. The rest of the squad is fit and available, offering Tudor flexibility in attack as he searches for a more fluid and effective formula in front of goal. Up front, Jonathan David, Lois Openda, and Dusan Vlahovic are in contention for starting roles. Vlahovic’s record against Lazio may give him the edge, as the Serbian striker has scored seven goals in his career versus the Biancocelesti, including two braces in Serie A fixtures. Tudor’s challenge will be balancing his attacking options without compromising the team’s defensive stability. Igor Tudor is expected to stick with his preferred 3-4-2-1 system, which emphasizes compact defensive organization and swift transitions into attack. Michele Di Gregorio will continue as the first-choice goalkeeper, protected by a back three of Federico Gatti on the right, Daniele Rugani in the central role, and Lloyd Kelly on the left. This trio will aim to remain tight and disciplined against Lazio’s wide-oriented buildup play. The wing-back positions are likely to feature Pierre Kalulu on the right and Andrea Cambiaso on the left. Both will play key roles in balancing defence with forward thrust, as Juventus rely heavily on their wide players to stretch the field and provide service to the forwards. In central midfield, Manuel Locatelli will return as the deep-lying orchestrator, providing passing range and composure, while Khephren Thuram will operate alongside him, offering box-to-box dynamism and physical presence. Ahead of them, Francisco Conceicao and Kenan Yildiz will occupy the attacking midfield roles, floating between the lines to link play and support the lone striker. Leading the line, Jonathan David is expected to get the nod over Vlahovic and Openda, bringing movement and sharp finishing to Juventus’s attack. His combination play with Conceicao and Yildiz will be vital in breaking down Lazio’s defensive block. Probable Lineup (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Gatti, Rugani, Kelly; Kalulu, Locatelli, Thuram, Cambiaso; Conceicao, Yildiz; David Key Stats Juventus have been a dominant force in this fixture, losing only one of their last 12 Serie A meetings with Lazio (winning eight and drawing three). Their last defeat to the Biancocelesti came in November 2019. The Bianconeri have failed to score just once in their last 29 away games against Lazio across all competitions, highlighting their consistent ability to find the net at the Stadio Olimpico. Lazio have won only two of their last 15 Serie A home matches, drawing 10 and losing three. They have also kept just one clean sheet at the Stadio Olimpico during that run. Juventus have gone over 300 minutes without scoring in all competitions, their longest barren spell since 2011. Their last goal came from Francisco Conceição against Villarreal earlier this month. Recent meetings between these sides have been low-scoring affairs, four of the last six encounters have produced under 2.5 goals, with Juventus winning three of those by a single-goal margin. Player to Watch Kenan Yildiz At just 20 years old, Kenan Yildiz has quickly become one of Juventus’s most intriguing young prospects, offering a rare blend of technical flair, confidence, and creativity in a team that has often struggled for inspiration. The Turkish international has shown flashes of brilliance this season. His close control, intelligent movement, and ability to operate between the lines make him a valuable asset in Igor Tudor’s evolving system. Yildiz’s natural composure on the ball allows him to dictate attacking transitions with maturity beyond his age. ............ Against a Lazio defence that tends to sit deep and absorb pressure, Yildiz’s agility and unpredictability could prove decisive. His ability to glide past defenders and create openings from tight spaces will be key in breaking down Maurizio Sarri’s compact shape. If Juventus are to end their scoring drought, Yildiz’s inventiveness and quick link-up play may well be the spark that reignites their attack. Prediction SS Lazio 0-1 Juventus Both teams enter this fixture under pressure and struggling for rhythm, which sets the stage for a tense and tactical battle at Stadio Olimpico. Lazio’s home record has been disappointing for over a year, with only two league victories in their last fifteen games, and their injury crisis leaves Maurizio Sarri short of options in attack and defence. Without Valentin Castellanos and Matteo Cancellieri, Lazio’s forward line lacks its usual sharpness, relying heavily on Mattia Zaccagni and Boulaye Dia to find moments of creativity. Juventus, meanwhile, are desperate to halt their scoring drought, having gone over 300 minutes without a goal. Yet, history is on their side, they have found the net in 28 of their last 29 visits to the Olimpico, and Igor Tudor will expect a reaction after back-to-back defeats. The potential return of Manuel Locatelli to midfield should restore some balance, while young Kenan Yildiz’s creativity could finally unlock the attacking rhythm that has been missing. Given Lazio’s defensive inconsistencies and Juventus’s attacking frustration, a cautious, low-scoring contest appears likely. Both sides may find success in moments rather than sustained dominance, and a solitary goal could prove decisive. . Round 8: Lazio vs. Juventus match preview Juventus are all of seven games into their 2025-26 Serie A season, but their first trip to the Italian capital of the new campaign feels a little more tenuous than things probably should be at this point of the year. ............ Well, it really is pretty simple: Juventus are in the midst of a winless run of form that we haven’t seen at the club in quite a while. It’s not just one or two managers ago, either. It’s a run of form that hasn’t seen the Bianconeri not win any of their last seven games that we haven’t seen from Juventus in the last 16 years — a span of time that goes all the way back to even before Antonio Conte showed back up in Turin and turned things into the beginnings of a decade of domestic dominance. So maybe it’s a little ironic that the next club up on the schedule is managed by the last guy to win the Serie A title at Juventus. Maybe it’s a little bit cruel as well considering the current state of Juventus and how they’ve gone from starting strong with three straight wins to not winning a game in six weeks. Either way, Juventus head to the Italian capital to face a Lazio side on Sunday night that hasn’t exactly began the season all that well in Maurizio Sarri’s return to the club. Juventus sit in seventh place — a clear sign that the three straight wins under Igor Tudor to begin the season feel like ages ago. Lazio, in an even worse standing, are 12th and have only won one of their last five fixtures. It’s a meeting that not so long ago was a battle for a Champions League spot. ............ During his pre-match press conference on Saturday, Tudor said that “the feelings after Madrid are largely positive” despite the 1-0 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League, a defeat that saw Juve drop to 25th in the league phase table. If the UCL league phase were to have ended this week, Juve wouldn’t even be in one of the 16 play-off spots, instead watching the rest of the competition from home. It’s just the latest chapter in this seven-game run that has seen things go south in a hurry. And now we wait to see if Juventus can actually get a win and put an end to it this weekend or see it stretch on for another few days before their first midweek Serie A action of the season. ............ It’s hard to say where this Lazio team is compared to Juventus to begin Sarri 2.0. They didn’t have any sort of transfer campaign this summer thanks to a transfer ban. They’re reportedly dealing with plenty of financial issues, and on the field they’re not playing well on any sort of consistent basis. Then again, it’s not like the current state of Juventus is much better. Tudor needs a win for the sake of his job security. Juve need the win for the sake of their confidence. And their standing in the table, of course. It’s weird to think that Juve could actually be just three points off the Serie A lead if they do beat Lazio on Sunday night. The catch is that they have to beat Lazio. And winning is something Juventus hasn’t done at all the last month and a half, so let’s see how all of that goes at the Olimpico. TEAM NEWS Gleison Bremer remains out injured following meniscus surgery. Juan Cabal remains out injured due to his hamstring injured suffered against Villarreal earlier this month. ............ Tudor mentioned at his pre-match press conference that Kenan Yildiz is dealing with a minor knee issue. As of this writing, though, most of the predicted lineups still include Yildiz in Juventus’ starting XI against Lazio. Tudor also said that Juve are continuing to be cautious when it comes to ramping up Edon Zhegrova’s workload following his lengthy injury absence at the beginning of the year with Lille. He is currently dealing with a groin issue, according to Tudor, and can’t push it too much or else it will come back and force him to miss even more time. Zhegrova likely has just 20 or 30 minutes in him right now, Tudor added. Two players from the Juve Next Gen squad have been included in the traveling squad to Rome: goalkeeper Matteo Fuscaldo and center back Pedro Felipe. JUVENTUS PLAYER TO WATCH Juventus have played two games since they returned from the international break. They have failed to score in both of those games, adding to a run of poor form in which a team that scored a combined eight goals against Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund suddenly can’t consistently find the back of the net. ............ When he’s on form, Francisco Conceição can make a difference for Juventus. The thing is, Conceição being on full form has been something that hasn’t always been present for a Juventus side that has scored all of four goals since their 4-4 draw with Dortmund six weeks ago. ............ Juve gets the good and dangerous version of Conceição, then the chances of them actually scoring a goal or two actually increases. It seems hard to believe with how Tudor’s squad is playing at the moment, but it is true. The more chance creation there is, the more goals you actually can try and score. It doesn’t matter if it’s Conceição setting things up or doing the scoring himself, he has shown he can do both. They just need Good Chico to actually show up at the Olimpico. Hopefully that happens so that somebody by the name of Kenan Yildiz doesn’t have to shoulder all of that. Juventus need somebody other than their young and extremely talented No. 10 to do something in the attacking third so that the opposing defense can try like hell to mark Yildiz out of the game and Juve have no other place to go for goal creation. Conceição can do it — it’s just a matter of actually going out and doing so. MATCH INFO When: Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025. Where: Stadio Olimpico, Rome, Italy. Massimo Orlando insists Tudor is not at fault for all of Juventus problems Juventus find themselves in a troubling period as their early-season form has dramatically declined, leaving them unable to secure victories and casting doubt on their ability to compete at the top of Serie A. After a promising start, the team’s performances have faltered, prompting growing concern among supporters and analysts alike. ............ Juventus possess a squad filled with quality players, and expectations remain high for them to perform at an elite level. However, despite the quality within the team, progress has been minimal since 2020. The club has gone through multiple managerial changes during that period, each time hoping for a revival that has yet to materialise. The pattern of instability has led many to believe that the problems run deeper than the head coach alone. Igor Tudor, the current manager, has found himself under mounting pressure amid the poor run of form, with speculation already circulating that he could be replaced in the coming weeks. However, not everyone believes sacking another manager would solve the crisis. ............ Football analyst Massimo Orlando shared his perspective on the situation, suggesting that Juventus’ problems are structural rather than solely tactical. Orlando said: “It’s not just Tudor’s fault. Juventus has a club that has been constantly changing managers for the past four or five years, with mediocre players for a Juventus team, apart from four or five players. What kind of team is Juventus? If this is it, they risk finishing seventh or eighth, I’m convinced of that. They’ve become ordinary, they’re not Juventus. The sooner they find good managers, who also bring in good players, the sooner they’ll be back on top. Otherwise, the dark period will continue because it’s not easy to get out of it. They need to work hard, starting with the club.” ............ . Read more -> https://www.juvefc.com/massimo-orlando-insists-tudor-is-not-at-fault-for-all-of-juventus-problems/

Sarri expecting difficult Juventus test, but rejects Lazio criticism Maurizio Sarri does not believe Juventus are in crisis ahead of tomorrow’s meeting, but will not take the blame for Lazio’s injury problems. ‘There are many factors that can have an influence.’ ............ “I expect a difficult game, as we are facing a team that three days ago played on level terms with Real Madrid and only suffered a narrow defeat,” said Sarri in his press conference. “We must be aware that when there are moments of difficulty, we have to overcome them together.” ............ Sarri won the Scudetto in his lone season as Juventus coach, but when asked about his memories of the time there, he shrugged. “I don’t have many, to be honest. I was only there a year and from March onwards we were playing behind closed doors due to the pandemic.” ............ “I want to clarify that I read Nuno Tavares got hurt in training, but the truth is he never really got back to training after last weekend’s game. I don’t think it’s anything particularly serious, but nonetheless this is the situation we have to deal with. “Luca Pellegrini had a small training session with us yesterday, but he has been out for three weeks. We could only put Provstgaard on the left in an emergency situation.” ............ “There are many different aspects that can affect injuries. Nobody gets fitness work wrong in 2025, but there are so many other factors that can have an influence.” Rovella has been struggling with a recurring groin issue, and it’s reported Lazio medics wanted him to have surgery, whereas he preferred a more conservative treatment. “These are personal choices, nobody can force a player to have an operation,” confirmed the coach. “He decided not to have surgery and I hope it can be resolved this way. He is a big loss for us, fortunately Danilo Cataldi has filled in well.” ............ “I have a good rapport with the director. However, this does not mean we don’t have different visions of certain things. It is perfectly normal. I read there was talk about my contract, but it’s a three-year deal, so there’s nothing to discuss. “Our objective this season is to become competitive again so we can return to European football. ............ . Tudor doesn’t fear being sacked and hints at more attacking Juventus Igor Tudor insists he doesn’t fear being sacked by Juventus but considers ‘giving up’ defensive solidity to add more attacking players. Juventus visit Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome tomorrow, and Tudor previewed the game at a pre-match press conference on Saturday. ............ “The team is motivated and has a desire to do well, knowing the opponents’ quality. We’ve had two training sessions, and tomorrow we want to have a great game,” Tudor said at a press conference. ............ “We have the players with their quality, then each coach makes their choices, depending on the game too. Some time is always needed to settle in, but they are all guys who are committed and give their best.” Does he see any similarity between his former teammate Alessandro Del Piero and Kenan Yildiz? “Comparisons are always tricky. Del Piero has made history. Kenan is practically in his first season as a protagonist,” Tudor replied. “Perhaps, he’s the most important player in the team. He plays every game until the end. It’s not even easy because, as he keeps growing, other teams understand the threats he poses, so they give him more attention. He always plays, he burns energy, and of course, his performances are not always the same. It takes time to adapt to this rhythm. Don’t forget he also played 90 minutes in each of the two games with the national team. He has to rest sometimes; he has a bit of pain in his knee, but these are normal things, which are part of the path.” As Juventus have gone seven consecutive games without winning, several Italian media outlets have suggested that Tudor will be sacked in the coming weeks if he’s unable to improve results. “Honestly, I don’t have this fear, not at all. I enjoy it, even in difficulties. I’m aware of what’s around me. It’s all clear to me,” he said. ............ “David has played three games in a row, but probably yes, perhaps we need to play more attacking players, giving up defensive solidity,” he replied. “Perhaps two strikers, perhaps Kenan [Yildiz] and Cisco [Conceiçao] altogether. We can think about any sort of thing. I must see if I can give up on something for the team’s good. Every coach wants solidity at the back, but at the same time, there’s also attacking balance. Perhaps, playing with a certain number of players is not enough to be dangerous. So we must find this balance, perhaps giving up something in defence and having more balance in attack. It’s a question I must ask myself.” ............ “Manuel [Locatelli] has personality and is always there. There’s always Perin to exchange some words, I think Thuram will become as such in the future. Kenan is a leader in the way he behaves and in quality. Dusan too. Jonathan David can say something; he does things the right way. ............ Edon Zhegrova hasn’t played much since moving to Turin. Is it just a fitness issue? “He comes from a year without games. He joined the national team, but then he stopped after a heavy training session, missing the following game,” Tudor noted. “He has this [groin] issue; when he pushes a bit more, it comes back, so we must be cautious and make him train the right way, even in the last 20 or 30 minutes. ............ . Tether CEO admits they want to buy Juventus but cannot Juventus’ financial landscape has continued to attract attention, particularly due to the growing influence of Tether, which has long been the club’s second-largest shareholder. The company’s expanding involvement has led to speculation that it may seek a more prominent role in the Italian side’s ownership structure. The Agnelli family, however, remains firmly in control of the club, maintaining majority ownership as it has for most of Juventus’ history. ............ In recent seasons, Tether has steadily increased its investment in Juventus, expanding its shareholding and influence within the organisation. This move has been widely interpreted as a signal of intent, with many observers believing the company may eventually seek a larger stake or even full ownership should the opportunity arise. As the team navigates a period of transition, speculation about a potential change in ownership has persisted. However, the Agnelli family’s historic connection to the club and their continued financial stability make such a development unlikely in the short term. ............ These discussions reached a new level when Tether’s CEO, Paolo Ardoino, was asked directly about the company’s intentions regarding Juventus. His comments offered an honest yet measured response to the mounting speculation. Ardoino said: “The fan in me would say, ‘Of course I’d like to buy it.’ But we have no plans to do so, and we also need a seller for that.” His remarks highlight the distinction between personal enthusiasm and corporate strategy. While Ardoino admitted to having a personal affection for the club, he made it clear that Tether has no active plans to pursue ownership at this stage. ............ .
