Brighton midfielder has now become the priority target for Juventus Juventus have now pinpointed Brighton midfielder Matt O’Riley as their main objective to bolster the middle of the park. ............ In recent weeks, Juventus identified Sporting CP captain Morten Hjulmand as their top target in midfield. The 26-year-old is said to be open to joining the Serie A giants. However, the Portuguese giants won’t sanction a transfer for anything less than €50 million, a figure that the Old Lady would struggle to afford. Therefore, several sources in the Italian media reveal that Damien Comolli and Co. have now set their sights on O’Riley, who has now emerged as the new No.1 target. ............ Like Hjulmand, the 24-year-old is a Denmark international, albeit with English origins. O’Riley rose through the ranks of Fulham before he went on to make a name for himself at Celtic. ............ O’Riley can play either as an attacking midfielder or a central midfielder, hence why Atalanta had identified him as the ideal replacement for Koopmeiners last summer, but eventually failed to close the deal with Celtic. . Dortmund 1-2 Juventus: Cambiaso’s brace wins it for the visitors An Andrea Cambiaso-inspired Juventus beat their hosts Borussia Dortmund, in a pre-season friendly held at the Signal Iduna Park. After a mix-up in the lineup announcement, it turned out that Igor Tudor decided to maintain his 3-4-2-1 formation after all. Jonathan David led the line, supported by Kenan Yildiz and Francisco Conceicao, while Cambiaso and João Mario started on the wings. ............ In the early going, the German side had the upper hand in terms of possession. However, it was Juventus who broke the deadlock in the 16th minute as Kalulu pounced on a poor clearance to send a cross to the mouth of the goal. Cambiaso was in the right place at the right time to beat Gregor Kobel from close range, even though it wasn’t the neatest of touches. ............ After the break, BVB tried to assert control on the match, but were once again punished by a slick passing move from Juventus. Mario brought the ball forward with a swift run down the right flank, before laying it to David at the centre. The Canadian picked up Yildiz on the edge of the box, and the latter timed his assist to perfection. Despite the acute angle, Cambiaso’s vicious shot somehow found the far corner. ............ With only a few minutes before the end of normal time, the Bundesliga side found a consolation goal. Jan Couto and Julian Brandt combined well on the right flank to set up Maximilian Beier who managed to escape Daniele Rugani’s marking to smash his shot past Carlo Pinsoglio. ............ Borussia Dortmund 1-2 Juventus Goals : 16′ Cambiaso (J), 53′ Cambiaso (J), 89′ Beier (D) BORUSSIA DORTMUND (3-4-2-1) : Kobel; Anton, Hummels (17′ Sule) (45′ Couto), Bensebaini; Ryerson (71′ Mane), Sabitzer (60′ Nmecha), Groß (60′ Ozcan), Svensson (82′ Kabar); Bellingham (60′ Brandt), Adeyemi (60′ Beier); Guirassy (75′ Campbell). Juventus probable lineup vs Dortmund: Who will join Yildiz in attack? Following last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Reggiana, Juventus will play their second summer friendly, as they take on Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park on Sunday (17:30 CET). ............ With only a couple of weeks separating us from the first Serie A kickoff, Juve still have some work to do on the market, but for now, Igor Tudor is working with an almost identical squad to last season’s, with the only new additions being Jonathan David and João Mario. ............ Kenan Yildiz will get the nod behind the Canadian striker. However, the manager must decide who will start alongside him in the 3-4-2-1 formation. Francisco Conceicao might have the upper hand at this stage, but Teun Koopmeiners is also pushing for a starting role. The Dutchman is coming off a disappointing campaign, but the manager is certain he’ll bounce back this term. ............ After making his return to action last weekend, Gleison Bremer is tipped to marshal the backline, joined by Pierre Kalulu and Lloyd Kelly, while Michele Di Gregorio starts between the posts. Nevertheless, Tudor will certainly make a wave of changes in the second half, so the majority of the players will get some playing time. Dortmund Probable XI (3-4-2-1): Kobel; Mané, Anton, Bensebaini; Ryerson, Gross, Sabitzer, Svensson; Beier, Jo. Bellingham; Guirassy. Juventus Probable XI (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Bremer, Kelly; Joao Mario, Locatelli, K. Thuram, Cambiaso; Conceiçao, Yildiz; David. . Tudor tips Juventus duo to bounce back: “It will be their season” Juventus head coach Igor Tudor is expecting two of his players to shine in the new season following a miserable 2024/25. ............ Tudor discussed several matters, while identifying Gleison Bremer and Teun Koopmeiners as two players who will prove their worth this season. ............ “It’ll be their season. They’re two strong players, I’m very happy with how they’re performing,” said the 46-year-old in his pre-match press conference. “Each had his own problems. Bremer is recovering from this long-term injury and will start tomorrow; we’ll see how much playing time he gets. Koop is doing well, he’ll have an important role this season.” ............ “Joao Mario and Jonathan David are integrating well. They’re both working well. They are professionals, and they’ll both start tomorrow.” “I talk to everyone. Dusan is doing as well as the others; he’s very professional, so I have nothing else to say.” . Capello believes it is too early to give an assessment of Juventus summer Juventus’ summer transfer activity has attracted significant attention, with former manager Fabio Capello urging caution before passing judgment on their business so far. The club has been active in reshaping the squad under new boss Igor Tudor, but according to Capello, it remains a work in progress with almost a month left in the transfer window. ............ While supporters are eager to see high-profile arrivals in Turin, the club has so far opted for a more measured approach. There have been no blockbuster additions, but there is confidence that if the current players perform to their potential, the team can still compete at the highest level. With pre-season preparations continuing, the focus remains on improving fitness, tactical understanding, and squad depth ahead of the new campaign. ............ Capello emphasised that it is premature to draw firm conclusions about Juventus’ market dealings at this stage. He noted that the club must first recover some of the resources spent in the previous season before reinvesting in the current transfer window. In his view, assessing the quality of their transfer business now would be unfair, as much can change before the market closes. ............ . Gatti: ‘Napoli wanted me, but I followed my heart in easy decision’ Juventus defender Federico Gatti confirms Napoli and Antonio Conte had approached him this summer, but it was not a hard decision to turn them down. ‘I followed my heart.’ ............ There was the possibility of an exit earlier in the summer when Champions of Italy Napoli stepped forward, but he was not interested in even listening to the proposal. ............ “I never put my future here in doubt,” Gatti told reporters from the Juventus training camp in Germany. “It was very pleasing to be of interest to a coach like Conte, who is one of the top bosses in the world, and of director Giovanni Manna. I thank them so much, because they pushed hard to take me to Napoli. “However, I preferred to follow my heart. This is a family, Turin is my home, I grew up here. Let’s just say it was a pretty easy decision in the end.” ............ “I am feeling better, but it was a struggle, especially as my physique takes a while to recover and I was out for three and a half months. Fortunately, it’s been almost two weeks back in training now, I am putting fuel in the tank, but I still need a few matches to get up to speed.” . Juventus dreams of blockbuster swap deal with Newcastle United Juventus remain active in the transfer market as they work to reinforce their squad significantly ahead of the upcoming season. The club have shown determination both in attempting to offload certain players and in targeting strategic signings that will strengthen their group for the challenges ahead. ............ While Juventus are looking to move Dusan Vlahovic out of the club, Newcastle United are known to be in the market for a striker. This alignment of interests has reportedly opened the door to a surprising potential deal that could benefit both clubs. Juventus are exploring the possibility of signing Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United by offering Vlahovic in exchange, along with a cash payment. The report suggests that Juventus view this as a rare opportunity to bring in a player who would elevate their midfield and contribute significantly under Tudor’s system. Tonali, with his tactical intelligence and passing range, is seen as an ideal fit for the club’s ambitions. ............ However, despite Juventus’ belief that they would be the clear winners in such a swap, the reality of securing Tonali is far from straightforward. Newcastle consider him one of their most important players, both on and off the pitch. The Italian midfielder plays a central role in their plans moving forward and remains highly valued by the club’s technical staff. Convincing Newcastle to part ways with Tonali, even in a deal involving Vlahovic and additional funds, will be a major challenge. ............ . Juventus is planning to send two youngsters out on loan Juventus are continuing to strengthen its squad with top-level talent during the current transfer window, but such ambition comes with a cost. Among those affected are Vasilije Adzic and Jonas Rouhi, two of the most highly regarded prospects within the Juventus system. Both players have shown considerable promise and are viewed as key assets for the future. However, the reality of limited playing time at the senior level has led the club to explore alternative options to aid their development. ............ Juventus are now preparing to send both Adzic and Rouhi out on loan during the current transfer window. The objective is to provide them with regular first-team football elsewhere, allowing them to continue progressing in a more suitable environment. The temporary moves are seen as essential to ensuring their development does not stall due to a lack of minutes in Turin. ............ . Renato Veiga could make a return to Juventus this summer Renato Veiga’s future remains unclear weeks after his return to Chelsea following a productive loan spell at Juventus. Despite performing well during the second half of last season, the Portuguese defender currently finds himself in a difficult position, with his next move yet to be finalised. ............ Juventus had intended for him to feature at the Club World Cup, underlining his impact and value. However, Chelsea opted to recall the player ahead of the tournament, only to omit him from their own squad for the competition. This decision reportedly angered the player, who had hoped to build on the momentum from his time in Turin. ............ As Chelsea prepares for the new season, Veiga continues to find himself on the periphery. The current managerial staff do not appear to view him as part of their plans, and he is expected to be allowed to leave the club once again. ............ Journalist reveals how Juventus target can change Sporting’s stance Morten Hjulmand has emerged as a key target for Juventus during the current transfer window, with the Bianconeri having monitored the midfielder closely. The club is looking to strengthen its options in the middle of the park, and Hjulmand is viewed as a player who could significantly enhance their squad. The Danish international currently plays for Sporting Club, which has already sanctioned several departures this summer. As a result, the Portuguese side is reportedly reluctant to lose any more key figures. ............ According to the current reports, Sporting have placed an €80 million release clause on Hjulmand and are insisting that any interested club, including Juventus, must meet that figure in order to secure his signature. ............ However, Juventus do not share that assessment of his market value and is unwilling to pay the full amount. The Bianconeri are instead seeking to negotiate a lower fee, one that aligns with what they believe is a fair valuation for the player. ............ Danish journalist Mads Glenn Wehlast, who has covered players from Denmark extensively, believes the situation may shift depending on the player’s position. He commented, “Is Hjulmand worth €80 million? It’s hard to say. But the club can say no right now. The situation could change if Hjulmand puts pressure on Sporting.” This suggests that while Sporting are firm in their stance, there remains a possibility that the player himself could influence the club’s decision by expressing a desire to move. If that were to happen, it might open the door for Juventus to secure a deal at a more reasonable fee. ............ .
