LAZIO 1 - 1 JUVENTUS Antonio Candreva (27′-PG) Fernando Llorente (60′) January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Attendance: 31000 Lazio vs. Juventus: 6 Things We Learned Jan 25, 2014 Juventus came from behind to claim a point in a closely fought encounter in Rome on Saturday. http://markting10.nl/ Fernando Llorente's wonderful header cancelled out Antonio Candreva's penalty, after Gianluigi Buffon was sent off for fouling Miroslav Klose in the penalty area. Lazio could not make the extra man tell, though, and Juve managed to come back into matters, even pushing for a victory in an engrossing second half. http://markting10.nl/ Juve's 12-match run of wins has come to an end, but a point may be seen as a good result, given the circumstances. Here are six things we learned from Saturday's clash at the Olimpico. http://markting10.nl/ Ogbonna Looked Much More Composed Than Caceres in Defence Angelo Ogbonna looked much more comfortable slotting in to the back three against Lazio than Martin Caceres did against Cagliari. It was almost a performance that clinched Conte's belief that the former Granata defender will be the first-choice back-up from now on. http://markting10.nl/ Ogbonna reads the game superbly, and he never looked flustered against Lazio, interchanging with Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli for a largely confident display. It follows 90 minutes against Samp and a 45 substitute appearance against Roma after Giorgio Chiellini came off injured. Ogbonna will now hope he has done enough to prompt Conte into considering a move toward a back four, which would enable the Mister to accommodate him on a regular basis. http://markting10.nl/ Candreva Close to Cementing Place in Azzurri XI Antonio Candreva appears to be close to not only guaranteeing himself a ticket to Brazil this summer as part of Italy's World Cup squad, but also winning a starting place for the Azzurri. The Lazio wide man put in a tremendously energetic display against the champions, which will have been duly noted by Cesare Prandelli. http://markting10.nl/ His energy to stretch opposition in transition, as well as his hard work to hold up the opposition when his side to not have the ball, is to be lauded. The calmness in which he dispatched the penalty was impressive, too. Candreva will hope that new manager Edy Reja continues to give him the freedom to shine in this role. http://markting10.nl/ Llorente Starting to Justify Debate over Who Is Juve's Most Important Striker Llorente scores in big games, that much is evident from his time with Juventus thus far. The Spanish centre-forward now has 11 goals in all competitions, one less than Carlos Tevez, so who is the more important forward for Juventus? http://markting10.nl/ Well, Tevez's glaring absence in Juve's Champions League campaign does him no favours, failing to score even once. But his industry and ability to drop deep and release Juve's midfielders is something that Conte greatly appreciates. It's a close-run thing, though, and if Llorente continues as he has done over the past few months, we can expect him to be starting even when Conte experiments more often with a 4-3-3 formation. http://markting10.nl/ Lazio Have a Gem in Keita Lazio must be especially excited about the future of Balde Keita. The Spanish wide player put in a superb cameo against the champions to raise the tempo of his side. http://markting10.nl/ The left-winger was able to cause Juve plenty of trouble on the break with his searing pace and almost scored with a curling effort that hit the post. Keita has a trick to go with his athleticism, and Edy Reja may be tempted to accommodate him into the starting line-up permanently before too long. http://markting10.nl/ Lazio Would Be Loath to Lose Klose This Summer Lazio should do everything within their power to stop Klose leaving the capital this summer. The German striker's contract is up and he will have plenty of options, but the Biancocelesti will be keen to tie him down to a new deal. His movement, in and around the box, keeps defenders occupied and often leaves space on the edge of the area for the likes of Candreva and Hernanes to cause damage. http://markting10.nl/ For a smaller type of striker, Klose's presence in the area is sufficient for Lazio to get the ball wide and swing crosses into the area, too. All of this makes him the perfect striker for a counter-attacking formation that Reja is deploying, meaning that it will be tough to replace his assets and his goals with just one player. http://markting10.nl/ Storari Proved to Be a Superb Deputy to the Great Gigi Marco Storari came on for Kwadwo Asamoah to replace the red-carded Gianluigi Buffon, and he did not let the Bianconeri down. Storari was solid and commanding in his area, and he also pulled off some stunning saves. In particular, to deny Klose from close range was very special, palming a point-blank header on to the bar. http://markting10.nl/ Storari could be seen as one of the main reasons that Juve escaped Rome with a point, actually. With Buffon set to miss the Derby d'Italia next week, Storari will be a great back-up option. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO 1 - 1 JUVENTUS Antonio Candreva (27′-PG) Fernando Llorente (60′) January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Attendance: 31000 Initial reaction and random observations Jan 25, 2014 I could harp on the red card that saw Gigi Buffon hit the showers just 20 minutes after the opening whistle. But I won't do that. Instead of making it all about one guy, I will take a positive spin on it and make it about the team as a whole. http://markting10.nl/ Why? Because after Juventus were forced to play 70 minutes down a man with Buffon being sent off, they played better than they did when they were at full strength. Some teams might have folded. Not Juventus. Not under a manager like Antonio Conte. Much like their grinta-full manager, Juventus didn't let the sending off of Buffon get to them. Instead, they pushed forward, seemingly dictating the pace of the match despite having just 10 men on the field. It was a battle, and Juve was more than happy to go in full force. Sounds like something Conte would endorse, doesn't it? I love that guy. He's a pretty good manager, too. http://markting10.nl/ Would it have been nice to keep the winning streak going? Absolutely. But when you're playing with 10 men at a place like the Olimpico where it is never easy to win, a draw isn't the worst thing to happen. JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen #Marchisio: It's a pity we weren't able to continue our winning streak, but we showed great character to come back with 10 men. #LazioJuve Word, son. (I liked you with the captain's armband by the way, Claudio. Just thought you should know.) http://markting10.nl/ Random thoughts and observations • Time to play Ask the (former) Goalkeeper: Do I think Buffon should have been sent off? I don't know, and that's the honest truth. It's really a call that could have gone either way. And in this case, the referee decided that Buffon did enough to be shown a straight red. Maybe Buffon could have played it a bit differently and come off his line a little sooner. But the way the play developed, there wasn't a lot he could have done. He was going to crash into Miroslav Klose no matter what happened and, unfortunately for Juve, it ended up going the way it did. • Luckily for Juventus, they are able to turn to a guy like Marco Storari whenever something happens to Buffon. His point-blank save on Miroslav Klose's header was simply fantastic and obviously kept the score level at 1-1. That's just the thing about being a backup goalkeeper — you never know when your number is going to be called. And when his team needed him to come up big, Storari delivered big time. http://markting10.nl/ • Fernando Llorente is on a complete roll right now, you guys. Conte preached patience when it came to the big Spaniards involvement and form and we're really starting to see the results of Llorente's hard work to get back in form. He's becoming even more of a focal point of the team than he was when we went into the Christmas vacation. Now, it's almost like every Juve scoring chance is somehow going through Llorente. You wanted a top-notch prima punta, you're getting one. And it was for free, too! WhoScored.com ✔ @WhoScored Fernando Llorente: Has scored 5 goals in his last 5 Serie A apps, after scoring 4 in his previous 13 games I guess I'll have to mention him again next weekend in the Inter preview. The way he's going right now, I don't really mind one bit. Keep doing what you're doing, 'Nando. • Juventus, all things considered with the man disadvantage, had a 57-43 percent advantage in terms of possession. Don't tell Conte to take the foot off the gas just because he doesn't have 11 players on the field. JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen #Conte: In spite of our numerical inferiority, we kept going for the three points. #LazioJuve http://markting10.nl/ • I thought Claudio Marchisio had another solid game in the center of the park. Obviously his role changed a bit when Juve went down to 10 men, but he really did do a tun of running against Lazio. If he continues to be deployed as a regista in the future, I won't be opposed to it. Certainly seems like he's taking a liking to his new position in the midfield. • Speaking of guys who worked their tail off, Carlos Tevez is an absolute warrior. How can you not love the guy? He just battles and battles and battles some more. http://markting10.nl/ • See what happens when Stephan Lichtsteiner sends in quality crosses? Goals happen. That was a thing of beauty and wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for the Swiss Express' effort to get the cross off. • Juventus unbeaten streak update: 13 games, 35 goals scored, 5 goals allowed. This has been a Juventus unbeaten streak update. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO 1 - 1 JUVENTUS Antonio Candreva (27′-PG) Fernando Llorente (60′) January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Attendance: 31000 Ten man Bianconeri salvage a point Jan 25, 2014 Lazio drew with Juventus 1-1 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Saturday night. http://markting10.nl/ Antonio Candreva put the hosts ahead with a penalty before Fernando Llorente equalised with a header. The game started out cagey however Juventus came knocking on the door early through Arturo Vidal whose volley went over the bar. Lazio could’ve made it 1-0 when Gianluigi Buffon was closed down by Miroslav Klose forcing the Juve goalkeeper to lose control of the ball but the latter couldn’t wrap his foot around it. http://markting10.nl/ The Biancocelesti again caused trouble, this time Hernanes slotted the ball through to Abdoulay Konko, but Buffon came out on time to deny the Frenchman. The hosts were awarded a penalty and the visitors were reduced to 10 men with 24 minutes on the clock when Konko’s through pass found Klose who was brought down by Buffon resulting in the Juve keeper receiving his marching orders. Candreva stepped up and calmly scored the resulting penalty to put Edy Reja’s men ahead. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus could’ve got the equaliser when the ball was played to Llorente on the edge of the six-yard box, but the Spaniard’s finish was saved by Etrit Berisha. Towards the end of the half Lazio had a penalty appeal denied when the ball seemingly hit Leonardo Bonucci’s arm, but referee Davide Massa waved for play to continue. Juventus entered the second half with the intention of scoring a goal, adding more grit to their game; Carlos Tevez won a free-kick from the left-hand side anf his dangerous cross was cleared by Crisitan Ledesma before it could reach Stephan Lichtseiner who was in a very dangerous position. http://markting10.nl/ La Vecchia Signora then equalised when Tevez slotted the ball through to Lichsteiner whose cross was met by Llorente who headed home to make it 1-1. The Bianconeri continued to threaten Lazio, this time Tevez notched onto a through ball but failed to finish past Berisha who pushed the ball out for a corner. Hernanes almost made it 2-1 to the hosts soon after when his low cross went centimetres wide of the post. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus continued their search for a second goal despite playing with 10 men, Paul Pogba laid the ball off to Vidal but the Chilean’s shot went over the bar. Le Aquile responded minutes later when Hernanes whizzed past several Juventus defenders before finding Candreva, but the latter’s shot went wide of Marco Storari’s post. Lazio could then have been 2-1 up if it hadn’t been for Storari’s heroics, the Juve goalkeeper saved Klose’s header from point-blank range preventing the hosts from taking the lead. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus had a chance of their own to make it 2-1 when Vidal went through on goal, but Berisha came out in the nick of time to deny the Chilean. Lazio were very unlucky to see the score remain at 1-1 when substitute Keita Balde cut inside and unleashed a stinging drive which slammed against the post. Lucas Biglia tried his luck from distance as well but Marco Storari was again equal to the shot. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus still pave the way at the top of the table, however if Roma manage to beat Hellas Verona on Sunday, Juve’s lead at the top will be reduced to six points. Reja on the other hand remains undefeated since taking over from Vladimir Petkovic as coach of Lazio. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO 1 - 1 JUVENTUS Antonio Candreva (27′-PG) Fernando Llorente (60′) January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Attendance: 31000 Lazio hold 10-man Juve Juventus didn’t get a 13th straight win, but after Gigi Buffon’s red card they earned a 1-1 against a Lazio side that hit the woodwork twice. Jan 25, 2014 The Bianconeri were seeking a 13th consecutive Serie A victory, but confidence was hit by Tuesday’s 1-0 Coppa Italia defeat to Roma in this very stadium. Giorgio Chiellini was suspended and Andrea Pirlo rested in favour of Claudio Marchisio, so Angelo Ogbonna stepped into defence. Lazio were unbeaten under Edy Reja with seven points from three rounds, but missed Federico Marchetti, Stefan Radu, Ederson and the banned Eddy Onazi, Senad Lulic and Stefano Mauri. http://markting10.nl/ Juve were unbeaten here in Serie A since 2003, winning six of their last eight visits. Arturo Vidal’s long-range attempt looped over, but Gigi Buffon ran a huge risk when he tried to dribble Miroslav Klose from eight yards and was fortunate the German turned wide when diving in. A Kwadwo Asamoah cross-shot flashed across the face of goal and Buffon timed his intervention well to smother a Hernanes pass at the feet of Abdoulay Konko. However, there was an early turning point in the match when Klose sprung the offside trap and Buffon clattered into him on the six-yard line. The referee opted for a penalty and red card for interrupting a clear goal-scoring opportunity, leaving Juve with 10 men. It was Buffon’s first Serie A dismissal since February 2011 against Lecce. http://markting10.nl/ Before the spot-kick could be taken, Marco Storari had to replace Asamoah, but his first job was to remove the ball from the net, as Antonio Candreva sent him the wrong way. Berisha needed a desperate save from point-blank range on Fernando Llorente, who had got in front of his marker. Juventus risked giving away another penalty in first half stoppages when Leonardo Bonucci’s arm blocked a Hernanes shot, but the referee considered it to be involuntary. It was kicked on to his arm, but at the same time the defender had it outstretched as he jumped. http://markting10.nl/ Candreva blasted over the bar after a well-worked move and Andrea Barzagli charged down a Hernanes attempt. Juventus equalised when down to 10 men, as ex-Lazio star Stephan Lichtsteiner pulled back from the by-line for Llorente’s extraordinary header that looped up into the far top corner. It seemed to be remote-controlled into that spot past a helpless Berisha. The goal sparked a different attitude in the Bianconeri and moments later Carlos Tevez burst into the box to force Berisha into a one-handed save at the near post. Yet Juve also had a scare with a Hernanes effort flashing inches past both the far stick and the sliding Klose. http://markting10.nl/ Vidal blasted over and Candreva drilled wide of the near post, then Llorente sprung the offside trap to be closed down by Giuseppe Biava and Tevez’s follow-up hit a defender. Lazio thought they had restored their advantage on 75 minutes when Cristian Ledesma floated a free kick into the middle for Klose’s bullet header, but Storari performed an extraordinary reaction save to turn it on to the bar with his wrist from close range. http://markting10.nl/ It was wide open and Berisha had to smother at Vidal’s feet from a Tevez through ball. Keita Balde came on and within a minute his curler had hit the post, bounced off Storari’s face and the goalkeeper somehow managed to get hold of it. Moments later Llorente’s effort was deflected over the bar from 10 yards, Dias charged down Vidal in the box and Storari blocked a Lucas Biglia strike. http://markting10.nl/ Lazio: Berisha; Biava, Cana, Dias; Cavanda (Gonzalez 65), Ledesma, Biglia, Konko; Candreva (Keita 84), Hernanes; Klose Juventus: Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Ogbonna; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Marchisio, Pogba, Asamoah (Storari 26); Tevez, Llorente Ref: Massa Sent off: Buffon 25 (J) http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO 1 - 1 JUVENTUS Antonio Candreva (27′-PG) Fernando Llorente (60′) January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Attendance: 31000 Llorente salvages point for 10-man Bianconeri Antonio Candreva opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Gianluigi Buffon had been dismissed for a professional foul but the visitors' Spanish striker levelled matters. Jan 25, 2014 Fernando Llorente was Juventus' saviour as the Serie A leaders came from a goal down with 10 men to salvage a 1-1 draw at Lazio on Saturday evening. http://markting10.nl/ The Serie A leaders - who had lost in the same stadium to Roma in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday - appeared to be heading for their first league defeat since October when Antonio Candreva notched from the penalty spot following the dismissal of Gianluigi Buffon, who brought down Miroslav Klose in the area. But Llorente levelled proceedings in the second half to leave Lazio waiting for a first league triumph over Juventus since December 2003. In a tight first half, the visitors controlled possession but were hindered when keeper and captain Buffon was beaten to an intricate throughball by Klose, with Candreva keeping his cool to open the scoring from 12 yards. http://markting10.nl/ The second half continued in a similar fashion, and the champions deservedly equalised when a well-worked move was finished by Llorente's fine header. The draw ends Juve's 12-match winning league run, while Lazio have now won two and drawn two league matches since Edy Reja returned as coach earlier in January. Lazio restored Hernanes to the starting XI after he scored a last-minute winner at Udinese last weekend, while Angelo Ogbonna moved to centre-back for the visitors, with Giorgio Chiellini suspended. http://markting10.nl/ The visitors started well but only had a speculative half-volley from Arturo Vidal after nine minutes to show for their early efforts. At the other end, Lazio almost took the lead in bizarre circumstances when Klose caught Buffon in possession and the Germany international's challenge forced the ball just wide of goal. Buffon's night went from bad to worse when he was shown a straight red card for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity, after bringing down Klose in the area after 24 minutes. http://markting10.nl/ From the resulting penalty, Candreva sent replacement goalkeeper Marco Storari the wrong way to break the deadlock. Despite that setback, Juve continued to see plenty of the ball and they created a great opportunity nine minutes before half-time when Stephan Lichtsteiner's low centre was collected by Llorente, who turned sharply in the box and forced a smart save from Etrit Berisha. Juve showed no signs of suffering with their numerical disadvantage after the break, continuing to probe but struggling to orchestrate clear-cut chances. http://markting10.nl/ Antonio Conte's charges showed their ruthlessness on the hour mark, however, as Llorente met Lichsteiner's pin-point cross with a looping header to the far corner. Buoyed by the leveller, Juve duly pushed for a winner and Carlos Tevez forced Berisha into a superb near-post save with a fierce strike. http://markting10.nl/ However, with 15 minutes remaining, Storari produced a fine point-blank stop to keep out Klose's header from Cristian Ledesma's whipped free-kick. A near carbon copy of that set-piece then led to Storari holding well from Klose's header, and the hosts kept up their late pressure when substitute Balde Keita curled an effort against the post in the 85th minute, but both sides were forced to settle for a point. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

LAZIO - JUVENTUS January 25, 2014 - 8:45 PM Olimpico Stadium — Rome Referee: Davide Massa Line-ups: Lazio-Juventus Jan 25, 2014 Juventus are looking for a 13th consecutive victory, but face Lazio at the Olimpico days after they lost to Roma here. http://markting10.nl/ It kicks off at 20.45 CET. The Bianconeri have won their last 12 Serie A outings on the bounce, but were knocked out of the Coppa Italia quarter-finals by Roma in this very stadium on Tuesday night. Antonio Conte rotated his squad for that tie, resting Paul Pogba, Gigi Buffon, Carlos Tevez, Fernando Llorente, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Kwadwo Asamoah. http://markting10.nl/ They are all back in the side this evening, although Giorgio Chiellini is suspended and replaced by Angelo Ogbonna, while Andrea Pirlo is rested. Arturo Vidal and Tevez need to be careful, as a yellow card today will see them banned for next week’s clash against Inter. Lazio are forced to reshuffle, as Stefan Radu and Ederson are injured, while Eddy Onazi, Senad Lulic and long-term absentee Stefano Mauri are banned. http://markting10.nl/ Hernanes returns to the starting XI after his stunning late goal to beat Udinese 3-2 last week, a result secured after Lazio had gone down to 10 men. Federico Marchetti was expected to be back in goal after suffering from a stomach bug, but he is again benched with Etrit Berisha starting. Abdoulay Konko is passed fit to start despite recent problems. Juventus have a very strong record here against Lazio, not losing in Serie A since 2003 and winning six of the last eight. The Biancocelesti are unbeaten since Edy Reja took over with seven points from three rounds. http://markting10.nl/ LAZIO: Berisha; Biava, Cana, Dias; Cavanda, Ledesma, Biglia, Konko; Candreva, Hernanes; Klose Lazio bench: Marchetti, Strakosha, Pereirinha, Novaretti, Ciani, Crecco, Vinìcius, Gonzalez, Felipe Anderson, Floccari, Keita, Perea JUVENTUS: Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Ogbonna; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Marchisio, Pogba, Asamoah; Tevez, Llorente Juventus bench: Storari, Rubinho, Isla, Caceres, Peluso, Padoin, Pepe, Pirlo, Giovinco, Quagliarella http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
