  1. JUVENTUS - COPENHAGEN November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Conte has Juventus XI doubts Nov 27, 2013 Juventus boss Antonio Conte will field a 3-5-2 against FC Copenhagen on Wednesday, but he does have a few doubts about his starting XI. http://markting10.nl/ Having used a 4-3-3 against Real Madrid in their last two European Cup games, the tactician will revert to the system the Old Lady presently use in Serie A. Conte, though, will be without Andrea Barzagli and so will have to choose between Martin Caceres and Angelo Ogbonna. If the Uruguayan is fielded in the back-three then Simone Padoin will be used on the right of the midfield five. http://markting10.nl/ If Ogbonna gets the shirt, then Caceres may be asked to play on the right-wing instead. There is also the possibility that Arturo Vidal may be rested given that he is one booking away from a suspension and Juve will need a result at Galatasaray in their last group game. Juventus probable: Buffon; Bonucci, Ogbonna, Chiellini; Caceres, Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, Asamoah; Tevez, Llorente.
  2. JUVENTUS - COPENHAGEN November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Juventus - FC Copenhagen Betting Preview: Llorente can lead the way for buoyant Bianconeri Antonio Conte's men are desperate for victory and our tipster believes that the Spanish star can help his side to claim a crucial three points on Wednesday. Nov 27, 2013 Juventus will aim to resurrect their Uefa Champions League hopes when they take on Danish side FC Copenhagen in Turin on Wednesday night. http://markting10.nl/ Incredibly, Antonio Conte’s men are still looking for their first win in this year’s competition, having drawn three of their opening four group games and sit bottom of Group B with just two matches of the group stages of the competition remaining. Juventus, though, are just one point adrift of second-placed Galatasaray and will look to seize the advantage in the race to claim the runners-up spot behind runaway group winners Real Madrid by seeing off Stale Solbakken’s men. The Bianconeri are red-hot favourites to win on Wednesday, with Coral offering just 1/7 (1.14) for a home win in Turin while the visitors can be backed at a massive 18/1 (19.0) with Coral to cause a major upset by beating the Italian champions. The draw is chalked up at 13/2 (7.50) with the same firm. http://markting10.nl/ Antonio Conte’s men will be eager to bring their recent domestic form into Wednesday’s encounter, for Juventus have won each of their last five Serie A matches without conceding a single goal. With that in mind, it is perhaps unsurprising that the hosts can be backed at just 4/6 (1.67) with Coral to win to nil on Wednesday while the same firm offer just 1/2 (1.50) for Antonio Conte's men to lead at both half-time and full-time. However, there is value to be had in backing the Bianconeri on Wednesday night and punters who delve a little deeper may be rewarded here, with Coral offering a juicy 2/1 (3.0) for the home side (-1) in the half-time handicap market. http://markting10.nl/ Better value, though, is the even money (2.0) quote from Coral for Spain international striker Fernando Llorente to net at any time during Wednesday’s encounter. The 28-year-old has been in a rich vein of form lately, netting in each of his last three appearances for Antonio Conte’s side. The Italian champions are likely to be on the front foot for long spells on Wednesday and, therefore, the even money (2.0) quote from Coral for Llorente to score at any time looks to be supremely generous and should be backed accordingly here.
  3. JUVENTUS - COPENHAGEN November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Four years without a Champions League goal – is Carlos Tevez the answer to Juventus’ European woes? The striker has experienced a great start to life in Italy, but he remains without a goal on the continent since April 2009. Nov 27, 2013 COMMENT By Kris Voakes | International Football Correspondent In 2008, he was King of Europe, lifting aloft the Champions League trophy alongside his Manchester United team-mates, but five years on Carlos Tevez is desperate to make a mark on the European stage once again. As explosive as he has been in domestic football in the interim, the Argentine has struggled in front of goal in continental competition. http://markting10.nl/ The Juventus striker has now failed to score in Europe since April 2009, spanning 55 months, 1395 playing minutes and a total of 19 games for three different clubs - a remarkable statistic for somebody who, in that time, has scored 83 goals in 155 domestic fixtures, winning two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a Community Shield and a Supercoppa. Add in his phenomenal start to life in Serie A with the Bianconeri and the European scoring stat simply makes no sense. Obviously, Tevez has had issues in that time, most notably his bust-up with Roberto Mancini after his then-Manchester City boss asked him to come on as a substitute at Bayern Munich. That altercation effectively ruled him out of Champions League action for a year, but even taking that into account, it is extraordinary that the 29-year-old has not netted on the road in such a long time. The immediate problem is that Juventus have been severely lacking in the Champions League this term. With no victories to their name after four matches in Group B, they remain in a good position to qualify for the last 16 more by luck than judgment. But while Fabio Quagliarella and Fernando Llorente have netted twice each during the group stage despite otherwise indifferent starts, Tevez’s European record reflects his general form in front of goal for the last four-and-a-half years. The Argentine has netted seven goals at a rate of one every 147 minutes in Serie A, but just cannot get going in the Champions League. http://markting10.nl/ Former Juventus striker Fabrizio Ravanelli told Goal's Romeo Agresti he has full confidence that Tevez's fortunes will change very soon, even saying he is “willing to bet that he will break his duck on Wednesday,” and it is clear to see why the 1996 Champions League winner has such confidence. This week, the Old Lady come face-to-face with group minnows Copenhagen, and while the Danes will be buoyed by their victory over Galatasaray last time out, Juventini have every right to expect this to be the most straight-forward of their side’s six group fixtures. The 29-year-old would appear to be simply too good a finisher and in too rich a streak of form for this statistical anomaly to stretch any further, but if he continues to draw blanks in Europe then Juventus may well fall short of the desired mark in the competition once more. After last season’s quarter-final defeat to Bayern the club will be looking for at least the same again this term, but a continued struggle in front of goal for Tevez can only compromise that. http://markting10.nl/ For, while Juve have depth in their strikeforce in terms of numbers, they do not have a second player with Tevez’s attitude, workrate and ability just off the front man. Sebastian Giovinco, Mirko Vucinic and Quagliarella are all considered alternatives up front, but only in the spot occupied by Llorente and not that of Tevez. The favoured forward line is very much ‘Tevez plus one’ and so it should be, based on what has been seen from the ex-Corinthians man on the pitch this term. However, the goalless streak can only go on for so long. For both Tevez’s and Juventus’ sakes, the sooner he is back scoring in Europe, the better. http://markting10.nl/ 'I BET HE'LL SCORE ON WEDNESDAY' FABRIZIO RAVANELLI ON TEVEZ "It is only a coincidence that he has not had the personal success to match his hard work in Europe. Things have changed at Juve. He is scoring regularly and is giving a great amount to the Turin outfit. I am ready to bet that he will break his duck in the game against Copenhagen on Wednesday night. Tevez is certainly not a 30-goal-a-season player, but his play, his physicality, the pressure he creates and his selflessness all elevate him beyond other strikers. He is having a vintage season so far. http://markting10.nl/ "Carlos can play as a target man too - he certainly has the characteristics - but he is great at making a link between the midfield and the attack. He can fit into multiple roles with unrivalled effectiveness. He was a great purchase for the Bianconeri in that he knows how to marry the highest quality with endless quantity, as Conte requires of his men. He will be back celebrating a goal in the Champions League again soon - I have no doubt about it." Fabrizio Ravanelli | Juventus 1992-96
  4. Mancini reluctant to risk Sneijder against Real Madrid The Dutchman is a doubt for the game at the Santiago Bernabeu with a niggling thigh problem and his Italian coach is considering saving him for next month's clash with Juventus. Nov 27, 2013 Galatasaray coach Roberto Mancini has admitted that he is reluctant to risk Wesley Sneijder in Wednesday's crucial Champions League clash with Real Madrid. http://markting10.nl/ The Netherlands international has been struggling with a niggling thigh injury of late and his Italian coach is considering keeping the playmaker out of harm's way, with next month's potentially decisive Group B showdown with Juventus in mind. "Sneijder is not 100 per cent," the Italian said. "He's been working with the team over the last four or five days, and [on Wednesday] we'll make a decision for him. "But it's important that we can't take any risks with Wesley, because he's very important for us." http://markting10.nl/ Galatasaray currently sit second in Group B, level on points with Copenhagen and just one ahead of Juventus. Mancini expects the Bianconeri to defeat the Danes in Turin on Wednesday night and, therefore, feels that his side's qualification hopes hinge on their matchday six meeting with Antonio Conte's side, as he feels a Gala victory at the Santiago Bernabeu is unlikely. "It is mathematics. This doesn't change if we lose or if we take one point [against Madrid]," the former Manchester City boss reasoned. http://markting10.nl/ "In my opinion, the last game will be the key game against Juventus - but we have one game [on Wednesday] and even it's difficult in football, you should never say never. "Anything can happen and we will try to play a good game and try to win if it's possible. We know that it'll be difficult but we want to try." Despite not wanting to think too far ahead, Mancini's primary focus is on pipping Juventus to second place. http://markting10.nl/ "This is where we are at this moment. I think that also because after the first game in Istanbul [a 6-1 loss to Madrid], for the team it was really difficult to go through to the second stage," he said. "Now we are alive. We shall play two games. It's difficult that the second game is against Juventus, but we can do anything. "We can beat Juventus and if we beat Juventus, we go through. But, at this moment in time, we need to think about the Real Madrid game."
  5. JUVENTUS - COPENHAGEN November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Llorente will be decisive - Tardelli Nov 27, 2013 Juventus face Copenhagen in the Champions League on Wednesday as they search for their first victory in the competition this season following three draws and one defeat. http://markting10.nl/ The Italian outfit can still reach the knockout stages with positive results in their final two games, and Tardelli has backed Fernando Llorente to step up after struggling for games during the early stages of his Juventus career. He added: "My money is on Llorente as the decisive man. To be honest, at the beginning of the season I was among the sceptics. "I didn’t have doubts about the player himself, but his adaptability to Conte’s game. But he's scoring and playing very well. http://markting10.nl/ "He has the right characteristics to hurt the Danes. And above all, he seems to be in great shape." One of Juventus' standout players this season has been Paul Pogba, with five goals from midfield already this season. However, the youngster is yet to score in the Champions League - with Carlos Tevez without a goal in Europe in four years - but Tardelli is confident both can end their barren runs. http://markting10.nl/ When queried on Pogba's record, Tardelli said: "It’s a minor detail, we’re talking about an important midfielder. He is playing fantastically, I hope he can score against Copenhagen. "And the same goes for Tevez: the fact that he has not scored in Europe is a coincidence, I think."
  6. Pirlo should move to Premier League, says Tardelli The Juventus midfielder's current deal is set to expire at the end of the season - with no talks expected until February - and the 59-year-old has backed him to move to England. Nov 27, 2013 Former Juventus midfielder Marco Tardelli has backed Andrea Pirlo to impress in the Premier League as speculation over his future continues. http://markting10.nl/ The 34-year-old is currently in the third and final year of his contract with the Bianconeri, with the club confirming that no talks will take place before the end of the January transfer window. And Tardelli feels Pirlo should test himself against the more physical nature of English football before he reaches the end of his playing career. "Andrea is special and always decisive," Tardelli told Tuttosport. "It is not only with his free kicks he is good, if he plays well the whole team improves. http://markting10.nl/ "It’s a complex and personal decision. That said, I would try Andrea in English football … Pirlo is quite famous in those parts." When asked who would get his vote for the upcoming Fifa Ballon d'Or, Tardelli added: "Pirlo. But I think that Cristiano Ronaldo will win it."
  7. JUVENTUS - COPENHAGEN November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Team News, Tactics, Line-ups And Prediction Nov 27, 2013 Juventus host Danish club FC Copenhagen in their next Champions League group stage fixture at the Juventus stadium. The reverse fixture ended in a 1-1 draw for the away side as Fabio Quagliarella’s goal in the second half cancelled out Nicolai Jørgensen’s opener. http://markting10.nl/ With Real Madrid running away with the top spot in this group, the fight for second place is wide open and will head towards a thrilling finale on the final day. Both Copenhagen and Juventus are in contention for a place in the next round along with Galatasaray and the three teams are separated by just one point. The result of this game will go a long way in deciding the final outcome of this group as Copenhagen will face Real Madrid in their last group stage fixture. Team news and tactics Juventus Juventus have made a bright start to their domestic campaign and look to be on course to defend their Serie A title. They have lost only one of their 13 league fixtures so far and are currently on five match winning streak in the league. Juventus are yet to lose a game at their home ground in all competitions this season and are coming into this game on the back of a 0-2 victory against Livorno. It was a comfortable win for the away side as Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez got on the score-sheet. They have been defensively solid as well and have now kept five clean-sheets in a row in Serie A. http://markting10.nl/ There has been a huge contrast in their league form and their performance in Europe though. Juventus haven’t managed to win any of their four Champions League game this season. In fact they are on a winless streak of six games in this competition since last season and the last time they extended this run to seven games was back in 1998. The Italian side are currently at the bottom of the group having accumulated only three points so far. But despite such poor record so far, they are still in with a good shout to qualify for the next round as both Copenhagen and Galatasaray will face Real Madrid once in their remaining two fixtures. This should provide Juventus with an advantage, but this a must win game for them in order to capitalize on this. Interestingly Juve have won only four of their last 12 Champions League fixture at home. Juventus must take confidence from the fact that they managed to hold Real Madrid to a 2-2 draw in their last fixture. Antonio Conte has a long injury list to contain with ahead of this fixture. Simone Pepe remains at the sideline with his injury and he has been joined by Stephan Lichtsteiner, Andrea Barzagli, Sebastian Giovinco and Mauricio Isla. Vucinic has recovered from his injury and featured in the match against Livorno as a substitute in the second half. http://markting10.nl/ Conte is expected to make four changes to the side he fielded against Livorno. Conte did change to a 4-3-3 formation against Real Madrid, but is expected to switch back to his favoured 3-5-2 in this game. Injuries have provided Conte with limited options on the right wing and at the back. Arturo Vidal was started at the back against Livorno, but the 26-year-old will move back to the midfield in place of Marchisio. Martin Caceres will start on the right wing in place of Simone Padoin, while Bonucci and Ogbonna joins Chiellini at the back. Expected starting line-up: Buffon; Chiellini, Bonucci, Ogbonna; Asamoah, Pogba, Pirlo, Vidal, Caceres; Tevez, Llorente Copenhagen Copenhagen made a disastrous start to their domestic campaign and won only two of their opening 10 league fixtures, but a recent improvement in their domestic form as seen them rise up to third spot in the Superliga table – six points behind league leaders FC Midtjylland. They are one a six match unbeaten run in all competitions and will be looking to maintain this momentum. Copenhagen are coming into this fixture on the back of a comfortable 4-1 win over Viborg as Igor Vetokele scored a wonderful brace. Copenhagen’s home form has been brilliant this season so far and they are undefeated in their 11 fixtures at Parken (and are currently on a seven match winning streak on their ground), but they have been poor on their travels and have failed to win their last five matches away from home. http://markting10.nl/ They got off to a good start in the Champions League with a hard fought draw against Juventus at home, but have lost both their matches on the road against Real Madrid and Galatasaray. They are currently third in the league table and just one point behind Galatasaray. Copenhagen kept their hopes of qualification alive with a 1-0 victory over the Turkish side in their last Champions League fixture as Daniel Braaaten’s early goal proved to be the winner. But with the prospect of facing Real Madrid in their last game, Copenhagen must get a positive result in this match against Juventus. This is the match to turn around their poor away form before it is too late. The Danish side have lost seven of their last nine away fixtures and have failed to score in six of them. Manager Ståle Solbakken has only one injury concern ahead of this game. Daniel Braaten, who scored the winner against Galatasaray, will miss out this game with a thigh injury. Solbakken is expected to make only one change to the side he fielded against Viborg. Igor Vetokele, who scored a brace in this weekend and has been the club’s top scorer in the league, has had limited opportunities in the Champions League, but the 21-year-old will once again get the opportunity to shine on the big stage as he replaced the injured Braaten upfront, while Cesar Santin will be replaced by Claudemir. Expected starting line-up: Wiland (GK); Jacobsen, Mellberg, Sigurdsson, Bengtsson; Gislason, Claudemir, Delaney, Toutouh; Jorgensen, Vetokele http://markting10.nl/ Players to watch-out for: Carlos Tevez (Juventus); Igor Vetokele (FC Copenhagen) Prediction: Juventus 2-1 Copenhagen Blast from the past
  8. JUVENTUS - COPENHAGEN November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Juventus vs. FC Copenhagen Preview Nov 27, 2013 Real Madrid will punch their ticket to the next round of the Champions League barring a meltdown of monumental proportions over the next two matches. That leaves three clubs, including Juventus and Copenhagen, to battle for the other spot available out of Group B. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus are displaying good form in league play, recently taking over the Serie A lead from Roma. Yet, for whatever season, they haven't been able to replicate that success in the Champions League with three draws and a loss in four matches. Despite those struggles by the Vecchia Signora, Copenhagen face an uphill battle if they are going to advance. After traveling to Italy for the matchup with Juventus, they finish group play by facing off with Real Madrid, one of the tournament's top contenders. http://markting10.nl/ Top Storyline: Can Juventus Overcome Slow Start to Advance from Group B? Copenhagen's game plan heading into the match should be pretty straightforward. The Danish club is going to defend and counterattack with hopes of securing at least a draw to at least give itself a chance heading into the final match against Real, which should have little to play for at that point. For Juventus, that's good news because it means they should be able to control possession and pace while spending a lot of time in the attacking half of the field. It's also worrisome, however, because it's going to take a concerted effort to break down the defensive wall, an arduous task for a frustrated squad. It puts the onus on the Vecchia Signora midfield, which is led by Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba, to push forward aggressively. It must find a way to create chances for Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez early. http://markting10.nl/ One quick goal would change the entire complexion of the match. It would force Copenhagen to come out of their defensive shell and open up more passing lanes in the final third for Juventus, at which point they could totally take control. Juventus plays the other two clubs in direct competition for the other berth out of Group B over the next two matches. So they control their own destiny, and their league form suggests they should bounce back from a sluggish start in UCL play, but the margin for error is slim. http://markting10.nl/ Prediction The most important positive sign for Copenhagen is the fact that all of the pressure is on Juventus. So if they can build that defensive wall and keep the Vecchia Signora at bay for a while, the pressure will mount and the Serie A side will be forced to take more chances, opening up the counterattacks. Yet, it's hard to imagine Juventus letting the opportunity slip away. They didn't get off to an ideal start in the Champions League, but two strong performances can push them into the next round and they can begin with a clean slate for the knockout rounds. They will take the first step on Wednesday. Juventus 2 - 0 Copenhagen http://youtu.be/vT9eNm-vKZ0
  9. JUVENTUS - COPENHAGEN November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Juventus vs. København PREVIEW – Reverse The Curse (Of Lars) Nov 26, 2013 History has a way of repeating itself. Around 52 weeks ago to the date, Juventus found themselves in similar position. They entered the domestic season as undisputed favorites, and promptly kicked off the season with an emphatic Supercoppa victory against a team donning powder blue. Serie A began in fairly typical fashion, until a blown lead against a bitter rival made for a devastating autumn surprise. Meanwhile, things got off to a slow start in Europe. Having drawn a wealthy powerhouse with seemingly limitless resources, a difficult Eastern team with a difficult name to pronounce, and some Scandinavian relatives of our resident nordic columnist, we knew it wouldn’t be easy. But we wouldn’t have expected Juventus to return home from Copenhagen with merely a single point twice in two seasons. But alas it has come to pass, one of these matches was attended by the aforementioned Lars, and thus the Curse of Lars was born. http://markting10.nl/ While this year is not a perfect carbon copy of the last, the similarities remain. Last year Juventus rebounded from the depressing 3-1 home loss to Inter by smacking around Pescara and the afore-alluded-to Nordsjaellen. This year they’ve responded to an equally depressing 4-2 loss at Fiorentina by thrashing Scudetto rival Napoli 3-0; playing a couple of heartbreaking but emphatic ties against that fantasy football team over in Madrid; and as of today, capturing sole possession of the top of the Italian table for the first time this season. The next logical step, of course, is a foul plot afoot in Turin and another thumping of some Danes. The big difference this time is that Juventus do not have destiny in their own hands. Hey Carlone, be a pal, do an old friend a favor, and take three from Galatasaray this week? It would really make up for Cronaldo winning the Madrid game by diving. Thanks. Back to work, Ragazzi. Avanti. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus As mentioned, Juventus have been on a hot run of form lately. Having retaken their rightful spot at the top, it’s telling that they’ve been able to do it despite a run of bad luck in terms of squad selection. Luckily they will not be with as extreme of a situation as they were in Serie A due to suspensions not applicable to European play. Yet a number of players are unavailable due to injury. Key among that lot are Andrea Barzagli and the still injured Stephan Lichtsteiner — the latter of whom was arguably the player Juventus missed most in both legs against Real Madrid. That list is rounded out by Lichtsteiner’s understudy Mauricio Isla, who will be out for an extended period of time after picking up a knee injury on international duty, and Simone Pepe, who may or may not even exist at this point. Sebastian Giovinco also remains unavailable. http://markting10.nl/ With that, it will be interesting to see how Antonio Conte lines up. While he switched to a 4-3-3-type shape for the last two UCL fixtures, those were against Real Madrid who have arguably the top 2-3 wide threats in the world in Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. Having reverted back to a 3-5-2 for the recent domestic fixtures, it’s likely that Conte will return to his tried-and-true for this fixture. Two-thirds of the back three are a given, and it remains to be seen whether Conte will prefer to utilize Angelo Ogbonna or Martin Caceres at the right center-back position. While the latter of the two is a natural righty and more comfortable in that slot than the former, he was responsible for earning a +1 rather than +3 against Madrid in Turin — although he played brilliantly otherwise. Still, I’ve often contended he is best suited as a wide player, be it at right or left back (where he often features for his native Uruguay), or right wingback. Unfortunately, Antonio Conte has indicated that he will feature Caceres as a center back in lieu of Barzagli, meaning my nemesis Simone Padoin, will get the nod at right wingback. Padoin is the vanilla ice cream of Juventus. He is neither good nor bad. Makes few mistakes, but contributes nothing else. I understand there can be value in that type of player, but I do not understand the selection at this moment, in light of better, more talented alternatives which exist. http://markting10.nl/ In the middle of the pitch, I’d select the M-V-P classic. Despite Paul Pogba’s good run of form, Claudio Marchisio showed how valuable he is even when not contributing offensively last week against Livorno. His awareness, pace, and willingness to track back single-handedly stopped two counter-attacks, keeping the score level into the second half for Juventus to close the deal. In a must-win situation such as this, he must start. Whether Conte agrees or not remains to be seen, as reports seem to indicate Pogba will be first choice. Up front, he seems set to stick with Fernando Llorente. The Spanish striker is finally hitting his stride and seems to have earned Conte’s trust. He was fundamental in the fixtures versus Real Madrid, scoring twice in as many games, and would be a good, tall, physical foil to Carlos Tevez whilst up against Copenhagen’s tall, physical defenders. Despite my preferences, we’re likely to see the following: Probable Formation: (3-5-2) Buffon: Caceres, Bonucci, Chiellini; Padoin, Pogba, Pirlo, Vidal, Asamoah; Tevez, Llorente http://markting10.nl/ København What was supposed to be the minnows of Group B have put in some valiant performances thus far in the Champions League. There was the aforementioned draw against Juve in Copenhagen, as well as a defeat of Galatasaray (thanks, Lars…seriously) in Copenhagen. This is not the easiest team to profile, as they’ve got no real notable European names (save for an old, Steve-Stiffler-resembling friend), and aren’t particularly successful on the continent. But Wednesday’s meeting of course lies far deeper than the tip of the Mellberg iceburg. I mean sure, we all know that despite all of those crazy Danes, the CIA says it’s A-OK to visit them. If we’ve learned anything from this campaign, it’s that they play tough, smart, disciplined football. And they’re happy to do it and play the role of world-beaters. In fact, very happy. (Although, I sometimes wonder why). http://markting10.nl/ Nothing can be taken for granted. Especially considering three points are an absolute must. Probable Formation: (4-3-3) Wiland; Mellberg, Bengtsson, Sigurdsson, Jacobsen; Delaney, Bolanos, Jorgensen; Santin; Vetokele, Toutouh.
  10. JUVENTUS - COPENHAGEN November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Champions League Preview: Juventus vs. FC Copenhagen — The clock is ticking Nov 26, 2013 It's not difficult to figure out what is currently standing in front of Juventus. There's 180 minutes left of the group stages and Juve are currently looking up at three teams in Group B. No, really. That's no typo., folks Through four group matches, all Juventus have to show for it is three draws and a loss. You can probably guess where I'm going with this. Juventus need points in the worst possible way. There's not just one team to jump over in the standings to get into the next round, but two. The first opportunity comes in Turin Wednesday night when Juve host FC Copenhagen. Yeah, the same Copenhagen squad that Juve played out a 1-1 draw in Denmark back in the middle of September. http://markting10.nl/ But that was then — a different kind of period in time this season. And as we've come to see the past four or five weeks, that Juventus is not the same as the current Juventus team that went toe to toe with Real Madrid and hasn't allowed a goal in five straight Serie A games. It's fairly certain that Good Juventus will have to show up these next 180 minutes if there's any chance of Antonio Conte and Co. getting to the knockout round. There's no other way around it. Playing Copenhagen at Juventus Stadium is one thing, but going to a hostile atmosphere in Istanbul is another. To have a chance for the trip to Turkey to mean just as much as Juve's trip to Ukraine a year ago, there's only one thing that they need to do — win, win, win. http://markting10.nl/ In conclusion: I like the Champions League anthem. I don't want to stop listening to the Champions League anthem before Juventus games when the calendar flips over to 2014. I'd like to hear it some more at Juventus Stadium. And not some video on YouTube, either. The real deal, you guys. So, Juventus, make sure we're listening to said anthem in February. It'd be really cool. http://markting10.nl/ GOOD NEWS Juventus' first eight Serie A games: 10 goals allowed. Juventus' last five Serie A games: 0 goals allowed. I know this is the Champions League and all, but this needed to be pointed out. http://markting10.nl/ BAD NEWS Injuries — because what else have we filled this preview space with lately? Stephan Lichtsteiner, Mauricio Isla, Andrea Barzagli, Sebastian Giovinco and Simone Pepe all miss out due to injury. Some of those names are not a surprise, some are recently added to the list. Have I mentioned yet that I miss Stephan Lichtsteiner? Because I miss Stephan Lichtsteiner. http://markting10.nl/ WHAT TO WATCH FOR 1. Which formation Juventus rolls with, 3-5-2 or 4-3-3? The first time around against Copenhagen,. there was no debate. Conte had his 3-5-2 and that was that. No need to debate it, no need to even talk about it — at all. That non-debate was put to bed when Conte went back to a 4-3-3 when Juve played in Madrid last month. The non-debate became a, well, debate again. Should Juve go with a 3-5-2 or 4-3-3 from now on in Europe? The results are the results. Against Madrid, it was 4-3-3. Against Copenhagen, it's more of a guessing game. Different team and tactics, of course, but the 4-3-3 has worked in Europe — so why go away from it all the sudden? http://markting10.nl/ JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen Conte: We've used two systems of play in the #UCL. Tomorrow we'll look to play the system that gives us the most guarantees. #JuveCopenhagen 2. Who plays on the right wing — regardless of formation. The status of Lichtsteiner and Isla remains exactly the same as it was a few days ago. That means Juve will, again, be without its starting right back and the immediate backup. And if Conte does go with a 3-5-2 like some people are suggesting, then it's down to either to Martin Caceres or Simone Padoin. But I like Uruguayans with high socks, so you probably know who'd I'd like to start. http://markting10.nl/ 3. Who plays in the absence of Andrea Barzagli. While Juventus will have a pair of players — Leonardo Bonucci and Angelo Ogbonna — back from the squad that traveled to Tuscany to face Livorno, the odds of the Great Wall of Barza playing have officially been set at zero after Conte ruled him out. JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen Conte: Barzagli will not feature in tomorrow's game. We're relaxed about the situation, Caceres is doing very well. #JuveCopenhagen #UCL Basic logic would tell you that the natural replacement for Barzagli on the right side of Juve's three-man defense is Caceres. But since the options are pretty limited on the right wing, it's not all that certain. Could Ogbonna take over in the middle and push Bonucci to the right? It's possible. But I like Uruguayans with high socks, so you probably know who'd I'd like to start. http://markting10.nl/ 4. The ever-improving rapport between Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente. Consider both Tevez and Llorente scoring goals against Livorno as the latest chapter in the story. Or, you can think of it however the heck you want. Either way, Tevez and Llorente are starting to click. It's not just the goals, but the entire package that comes with the Tevez-Llorente combo finding its stride. The combination play between the two seems to get better as the games go by, and so does the overall understanding. The general assumption was that whenever it clicked, this would be Juve's No. 1 partnership. Well, it's done just that — and now it seems as though Conte is seeing what we all are, too. http://markting10.nl/ 5. The impact of Kwadwo Asamoah. The highlight of Asamoah's game against Livorno was the run he made that led to Llorente's opener. It's pretty easy to figure that one out. But it wasn't just that memorable run that made his game so good, as a certain Ivo Andov discussed in his match review. The more Asamoah was involved, the more of an impact he had. That's not all that surprising considering that can be said for a lot of players — you see more of the ball, you have a better chance to do something good. And there's no doubting Asamoah did plenty of good against Livorno. Now, to build on it... http://markting10.nl/ My starting XI (3-5-2): Buffon; Bonucci, Ogbonna, Chiellini; Caceres, Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, Asamoah; Llorente, Tevez OR My starting XI (4-3-3): Buffon; Caceres, Bonucci, Chiellini, Asamoah; Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba; Vucinic, Llorente, Tevez
  11. JUVENTUS - COPENHAGEN November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Conte: Win or bust for Juve Nov 26, 2013 Antonio Conte has admitted that Juventus’ match with Copenhagen tomorrow is ‘win or bust’. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri host the Danes on Wednesday knowing that only three points will do if they are to qualify for the Last 16 of the Champions League. “Tomorrow’s match is extremely difficult and a crucial one at that. We need to win at all costs if we want to continue our journey in this year’s Champions League,” he told a Press conference. “Having said that, I’m perfectly relaxed because I’ve got a group of lads who are used to playing these win-or-bust games for almost two and a half years now - ones that involve great pressure and responsibility. http://markting10.nl/ “Tomorrow is one of these, but Juventus know how to deal with such games. “I’ve always said our fans are crucial. Those in the north and south stands are the beating heart of Juventus Stadium and have helped us reach incredible successes over the past two years. “I don’t think there’s any chance of them abandoning us in a decisive game like tomorrow’s. We’ll need everyone to get behind us in our quest for victory.” http://markting10.nl/ Juve go into the match on the crest of a wave after going five games unbeaten in the League. The tactician though, has insisted that his men won’t take their eye of the ball. “We always treat the two competitions differently and returning to the top of the League won’t change anything. “We need to focus on ourselves and look to improve and maintain the characteristics which have enabled us to lead the light in previous years.” http://markting10.nl/ The Coach then went on to praise striker Fernando Llorente. “Fernando’s done very well. I found myself in a similar situation when I had just joined Juventus, everything seemed dark and I didn’t think I was in the right place. He came here as a world champion and a successful player, but has had the patience to take our workload on board and apply himself. “He’s a complete, modern player, not your typical centre-forward who lurks in the box, but one who provides assists. http://markting10.nl/ “There’s still plenty of room for improvement, though, and if he continues in this vein then he should certainly go to the World Cup. “He’s looking good up front with Tevez, they’ve now earned the starting berths, but I’m not going to forget those who have helped us enjoy plenty of success over the past two years.”

JUVENTUS - COPENHAGEN November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Juventus squad for Copenhagen Nov 26, 2013 Antonio Conte has named his Juventus squad to face Copenhagen, as Andrea Barzagli again misses out. http://markting10.nl/ This is a must-win Champions League tie to be played on Wednesday at 19.45 GMT in Turin. Barzagli has still not recovered after picking up an injury on international duty, staying in the stands with Stephan Lichtsteiner and Simone Pepe. 13. JUVENTUS - COPENHAGEN November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Solbakken: 'Pressure on Juve' Nov 26, 2013 Copenhagen manager Stale Solbakken warns “the pressure is on Juventus and that might work in our favour.” http://markting10.nl/ The Danes are still in the running for qualification from Champions League Group B, as they are level second with Galatasaray on four points and ahead of Juventus on three. They play at the Juventus Stadium on Wednesday at 19.45 GMT and it’s a must-win for the Bianconeri. “We want to have a go at it. The pressure is on Juventus tomorrow and perhaps that might work in our favour,” said Solbakken in today’s Turin Press conference. http://markting10.nl/ “We have the greatest respect for Juve. They were the best side against Real Madrid and Galatasaray and have been unlucky in the Champions League so far. They have an extremely strong midfield and are now back at the top of Serie A.” When these sides last met in Denmark, it ended 1-1 with Copenhagen finding the net first. http://markting10.nl/ “We weren’t afraid of crosses in the first leg, but now Juve have another alternative in Fernando Llorente, who is a threat in the box. “We’ll give it our best shot, try to be brave and make a real fight of it. Anything can happen over the course of 90 minutes.”
  14. JUVENTUS - COPENHAGEN November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Conte: Juventus must beat Copenhagen The Bianconeri sit bottom of Group B but are still in with a chance of reaching the knockout stages if they can win on Wednesday. Nov 26, 2013 Juventus boss Antonio Conte has admitted his side must beat Copenagen if they are to qualify from Champions League Group B. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri have been underwhelming in Europe so far this term and sit bottom of the group on three points having drawn three and lost one of their opening four games. But with Real Madrid the runaway leaders in the group, the second qualification spot remains firmly up for grabs, with just a point separating second-placed Galatasaray and Conte's men. The Italian told reporters: "Tomorrow’s match is extremely difficult and a crucial one at that. We need to win at all costs if we want to continue our journey in this year’s Champions League. http://markting10.nl/ “Having said that, I’m perfectly relaxed because I’ve got a group of lads who are used to playing these win-or-bust games for almost two and a half years now - ones that involve great pressure and responsibility. Tomorrow is one of these, but Juventus know how to deal with such games.” Fernando Llorente is expected to partner Carlos Tevez in attack once again on Wednesday night and Conte was wholesome in his praise of the 28-year-old for his gradual adaptation to life in Turin. The 44-year-old said: "Fernando’s done very well. I found myself in a similar situation when I had just joined Juventus, everything seemed dark and I didn’t think I was in the right place. http://markting10.nl/ "He came here as a world champion and a successful player, but has had the patience to take our workload on board and apply himself. He’s looking good up front with Tevez, they’ve now earned the starting berths, but I’m not going to forget those who have helped us enjoy plenty of success over the past two years.” Defenders Leonardo Bonucci and Angelo Ogbonna look set to return tomorrow night, but there will be no place for Andrea Barzagli who has only resumed light training this week.
  15. JUVENTUS - COPENHAGEN November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Juventus-Copenhagen Preview: Bianconeri desperate for first Group B win Antonio Conte's side find themselves bottom of the pool after the first four rounds of matches, but victory on Wednesday and defeat for Galatasaray would move them into second. Nov 26, 2013 Juventus will look to kick-start their Champions League campaign by replicating their domestic form against Copenhagen on Wednesday. http://markting10.nl/ Antonio Conte's men failed to win any of their first four games in Europe's premier club competition and sit bottom of Group B with three points. However, thanks mainly to the dominance of runaway pool leaders Real Madrid - who have taken 10 points from their four games, scoring 14 goals in the process - Juve are still just one point behind Galatasaray and Copenhagen. That means the Italian champions could end matchday five in control of their own destiny in terms of reaching the last 16, as a home victory over the Danes - coupled with a defeat for Galatasaray at Santiago Bernabeu - would put them second with just one game remaining. http://markting10.nl/ Conte's side are sure to head into the crucial fixture high on confidence after they moved to the summit of Serie A by recording their fifth straight league win with a 2-0 success at Livorno on Sunday. Fernando Llorente continued his rich vein of form by opening the scoring with his third goal in as many games at club level, before the Spaniard set up strike partner Carlos Tevez to end a run of three matches without scoring to seal the points. Juve have not won in their last three home Champions League games, but are unbeaten in 12 in all competitions on their own patch, a run stretching back to last season's quarter-final defeat by Bayern Munich. http://markting10.nl/ Copenhagen, meanwhile, head to Turin buoyed by their 1-0 victory over Galatasaray on matchday four. Stale Solbakken's team have not lost in six games in all competitions and comprehensively overcame Viborg 4-1 in their last Superliga fixture on Sunday, with forward Igor Vetokele scoring twice to take his tally to seven for the season. Juve needed a second-half equaliser from Fabio Quagliarella to take a point from the reverse match at Parken in September, but the Danish champions have conceded seven goals in their away games at Real and Galatasaray this term. http://markting10.nl/ Head to Head UEFA Champions League ‎-‎ Sep 17, 2013 - FC Copenhagen 1 - 1 Juventus Last Five Matches JUVENTUS Nov 24, 2013 - Livorno 0 - 2 Juventus - Serie A Nov 10, 2013 - Juventus 3 - 0 SSC Napoli - Serie A Nov 5, 2013 - Juventus 2 - 2 Real Madrid CF - UCL Nov 2, 2013 - Parma 0 - 1 Juventus - Serie A Oct 30, 2013 - Juventus 4 - 0 Catania - Serie A FC COPENHAGEN Nov 5, 2013 - FC Copenhagen 1 - 0 Galatasaray - UCL Oct 23, 2013 - Galatasaray 3 - 1 FC Copenhagen - UCL Oct 2, 2013 - Real Madrid CF 4 - 0 FC Copenhagen - UCL Sep 17, 2013 - FC Copenhagen 1 - 1 Juventus - UCL Jul 13, 2013 - VfL Wolfsburg 1 - 2 FC Copenhagen - FR
  16. Juventus turn up the heat With Roma yet to play, the weekend saw the chasing pack get a chance to make up ground. Giancarlo Rinaldi rounds up who took their opportunities – and who let them slip. Nov 25, 2013 It is the mark of champions that they mess things up much less than their would-be rivals. Cutting out silly mistakes and avoidable defeats or draws is a key element to winning trophies. And Juventus gave proof of their proficiency in that department once again at the weekend. http://markting10.nl/ With Roma to play a Monday night match there was a shot for all the sides trailing in the wake of Rudi Garcia’s men to play a little catch-up. For most of them, the pressure of the situation proved too much to take. That was not the case for Antonio Conte’s team, however, despite taking a makeshift defence on the road to Livorno. It will have cheered Bianconeri everywhere to see the names on the scoresheet too. Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente are starting to become exactly the kind of double act everyone at the club hoped they would be. It allowed an overtaking manoeuvre which will test the resolve of the Giallorossi when they go into action against Cagliari. http://markting10.nl/ “Every game we play together things get better and better,” said Juve’s Spanish striker in words about his partnership with the Argentine front man which had an ominous ring. “We are getting to know each other more and more and every match we get stronger physically. We did what we had to do and we hope to keep going like that – starting with Copenhagen in the Champions League.” It was all in stark contrast to the efforts of some of the other sides in the upper reaches of the table who could have made a move forward themselves. Napoli, Fiorentina and Verona all suffered single goal defeats which left them standing still instead of advancing. Each one will have lessons to learn from how they were defeated.
  17. Llorente only focused on Juve Nov 26, 2013 Fernando Llorente has insisted that his only focus at the moment is to do well with Juventus, and get his team to the Champions League knock-out round. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri host Copenhagen tomorrow in a must-win match for Antonio Conte’s men, but the striker has claimed that his only worry is doing well for the club, not peaking for the World Cup. The more I play, the better I feel,” he told a Press conference. “I’ve always said that I want to improve every day. http://markting10.nl/ “I want to be a better player and I believe I’m doing a good job here, where I’m also able to help the team. I think that I can still develop a lot more. “There’s still a long way to go until the World Cup, now isn’t the moment to talk about that. I know that I have to do really well here, that’s the main thing on my mind, and helping this team to win could be what gives me the chance to be there.”
  18. Juve strike duos compared Nov 26, 2013 Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente are reminiscent of Alessandro Del Piero and David Trezeguet, the French striker has claimed. http://markting10.nl/ The summer signings have taken to life in Italy after signing from Manchester City and Athletic Bilbao respectively. And the ex-Juventus man has insisted that the new strike partnership is evocative of his and Del Piero’s. “I think Tevez is the ideal strike partner for Llorente,” he told Goal.com. http://markting10.nl/ “Technically, Tevez and Llorente remind me of myself and Del Piero. “Llorente is a true centre-forward, and will only get better for Juventus. He is becoming increasingly important.”

  20. Ravanelli hails Juventus’ Llorente Nov 26, 2013 Fabrizio Ravanelli has been left impressed by the recent form of Juventus’ summer signing Fernando Llorente. http://markting10.nl/ The latter arrived at the club on a Bosman free transfer after his contract with Athletic Bilbao had expired. However, it took some time for him to break into the first team plans of Antonio Conte, before finally starting to ripple the net with consistency. “The Spaniard is doing well,” Ravanelli, a former Juve forward, told Sky Sport Italia. “He is an important signing for Juve. http://markting10.nl/ “He’s now finally finding his dimension after a difficult start. He’s offering his experience and quality which is what the Old Lady needed.” The 28-year-old, who scored and assisted in the 2-0 win at Livorno, has three goals in 10 Serie A appearances. He also has two in three Champions League ties.

  24. Buffon makes 500th Serie A appearance Nov 25, 2013 Sunday saw another landmark day in the career of Italian goalkeeping great Gianluigi Buffon as he made his 500th Serie A appearance during Juventus’ 2-0 win over Livorno at the Stadio Armando Picchi. http://markting10.nl/ Buffon, 35, was initially a product of Parma’s youth system and made his debut in Italy’s top flight in the 1995-96 season as a 17-year-old, when he helped the Gialloblù to a goalless draw at home to eventual champions AC Milan. He established himself as the Emilia-Romagna side’s number one the following season and went on to make 168 Serie A appearances for them, also winning the Coppa Italia, UEFA Cup and Supercoppa Italiana during a highly successful 1999 for the club. In the summer of 2001, following another highly impressive season, La Vecchia Signora splashed out €51 million to secure his services in a deal which to this day remains the highest ever transfer fee paid for a goalkeeper. http://markting10.nl/ Buffon has remained at the Turin giants ever since, making a further 332 Serie A appearances in the process and winning the Scudetto on four occasions. He has also picked up World Cup and Serie B winners medals over a glittering career and this latest accomplishment means that he is now joint 12th in the list of all-time Serie A appearance makers. He is also the first goalkeeper to reach the milestone. http://markting10.nl/ Players to have made 500 or more Serie A appearances: 1. Paolo Maldini (647) 2. Javier Zanetti (604) 3.
