Hellas Verona vs Juventus: Preview After strong opening results to start the 2024/25 Serie A season weekend, Hellas Verona and Juventus face off at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi on Serie A Matchday 2. Juventus began the new Serie A season brilliantly under new coach Thiago Motta, earning a 3-0 win against Como 1907, and there were several things to be impressed by – most notably the stylistic changes brought by the former Bologna boss. The Old Lady were not the only impressive side on Serie A Matchday 1, though. Hellas Verona were superb against Napoli, and they too strode to a 3-0 victory. New signing Daniel Mosquera was the star of the show and Paolo Zanetti will hope he can recreate his performance this weekend. Hellas Verona vs Juventus: Predicted line-ups After the Bianconeri’s opening-day win, Motta is expected to make two changes to the side that won 3-0. Danilo is expected to return to the Juventus XI, which could push Andrea Cambiaso onto the wing. Additionally, Douglas Luiz could be offered a chance to start the fixture ahead of Khephren Thuram – the Brazilian midfielder played the final 10 minutes of the game and against Como and is likely to be given the nod from the off. ............ Hellas Verona predicted XI vs Juventus (4-2-3-1): Montipo; Tchatchoua, Dawidowicz, Coppola, Frese; Belahyane, Duda; Livramento, Harroui, Lazovic; Tengstedt. Juventus predicted XI vs Hellas Verona (4-2-3-1): Di Gregorio; Danilo, Bremer, Gatti, Cabal; Luiz, Locatelli; Cambiaso, Yildiz, Mbangula; Vlahovic. Serie A: When does Hellas Verona vs Juventus start? Kick-off in the Serie A Matchday 2 fixture of Hellas Verona vs Juventus is set for 20:45 CEST, local time in Italy, on Monday, August 26. Juventus asks Man Utd to contribute to Sancho’s salary before they sign him Jadon Sancho is becoming an important transfer target for Juventus as the Bianconeri intensify their pursuit of the Manchester United star. ............ The Red Devils are reportedly open to letting the attacker leave before the transfer window closes and could be willing to sell him for as low as €40 million. However, even if Juventus prefers a loan deal, they would face challenges in covering his wages. Juventus has requested that United cover part of Sancho’s wages to facilitate the move. His current salary is too high for Juventus to bear alone, making United’s contribution crucial to any potential deal. ............ Done deal: Juventus reach Nico Gonzalez agreement with Fiorentina Multiple outlets in Italy are reporting that Juventus have now reached a final agreement with Fiorentina over the transfer of Argentine winger and recent Copa America winner Nico Gonzalez. ............ The Bianconeri have agreed to bring Nico Gonzalez in on loan with an obligation to buy. Most outlets agree that the deal will cost Juventus a total of €38m. It will be a €8m fee to bring him in on loan for the season, with a €25m buy clause plus €5m in bonuses for a total of €38m. That is not far off the €40m price tag that Fiorentina had originally been seeking. Nico Gonzalez already agreed a package on personal terms with the Old Lady earlier this month, and is reportedly ready to sign off on a €3.5m per-year contract. ............ Francisco Conceicao is set to join Juventus on a season-long loan spell. The Portuguese will arrive in Turin tomorrow to complete his medical examinations and sign his contract. The Bianconeri reached an agreement with the Primeira Liga side for the player on a €7 million plus €2 million in bonuses deal. Conceicao was not called up by Porto in their last match versus Rio Ave as he was part of final negotiations. ............ Juventus finalize deals for Nico Gonzalez, Francisco Conceiçao ............ According to reports out of Italy on Saturday, Juventus have finalized deals for both Fiorentina’s Nico Gonzalez as well as Porto’s Francisco Conceiçao. Not one, but two wingers will arrive in the final week of the summer transfer window and Thiago Motta will get two of the technical wide players that Giuntoli has been chasing for the better part of the last month. Both players will arrive on initial loan deals, with Gonzalez’s loan fee being €8 million with there being an obligation to buy worth a total package of around €37 million and Conceiçao costing Juve €7 million plus another €2 million in bonuses for the season-long loan. Considering how the last 24 hours have been when it comes to rumors about Juventus chasing wingers — Gonzalez, Conceiçao and Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho — it only made sense that news of the two deals being closed came in relatively short order. ............ But for now, we know that Juventus have two talented wingers about to join the squad. As we bid farewell to Federico Chiesa and scramble to learn anything we can about Samuel Mbangula, Giuntoli has secured Gonzalez, a winger who already knows Serie A quite well, and Conceiçao, who could very well bounce between both wings depending on the situation. (Remember, if Koopmeiners arrives the expectation is that Kenan Yildiz slides out wide to the left wing.) ............ Juventus will help Empoli complete move for fringe player One player Juventus might struggle to offload this summer is Mattia de Sciglio, and the club is eager for him to leave. The injury-prone defender has had difficulty staying fit for several seasons and has one year remaining on his contract at the Allianz Stadium. ............ Empoli has been given the opportunity to sign the defender and appears open to the idea. However, his salary is a significant obstacle. Even if Juventus is willing to let him join Empoli for free, his net salary of €1.5 million per season is too high for them to cover. Juventus is now considering making concessions to facilitate his departure. The Bianconeri are prepared to offer him a severance package to terminate his contract, which would help smooth his move to Empoli. ............ Juventus intensify transfer talks for Jado Sancho Juventus have ramped up their transfer activities in the final week of the summer window, engaging in discussions with the representatives of several high-profile players. The Italian giants are exploring options to bolster their attacking lineup, with Jadon Sancho, Nico González, and Francisco Conceição emerging as key targets. The situation surrounding Jadon Sancho has gained significant traction. Reports indicate that Sancho’s departure from Manchester United is now a concrete possibility, with the player himself open to leaving Old Trafford. Juventus has made a direct approach to Manchester United, initiating formal discussions about a potential transfer. This development follows earlier reports of Juventus expressing firm interest in the 24-year-old English winger. The club has been exploring the conditions of a deal, including talks over personal terms. Manchester United are reportedly seeking around £51 million for Sancho, though Juventus may look to negotiate a more favourable deal, possibly in the form of a loan with an option to buy. ............ As the transfer window enters its final week, Juventus appears determined to secure reinforcements for new manager Thiago Motta’s squad. The club’s sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, is working on multiple fronts to reshape the team and provide Motta with the tools needed for a successful campaign. ............ Official Hans Nicolussi Caviglia leaves Juventus after 16 years Hans Nicolussi Caviglia has completed his transfer to Venezia as Juventus’ summer clear-out continues. The midfielder has been with the club since he was eight years old and earned playing time in some crucial matches under Max Allegri last season. He hoped to build on that momentum when Thiago Motta was appointed as the club’s manager, but the new coach did not see him as a key part of his plans. ............ Several teams expressed interest in signing him, but Venezia emerged as the most serious contender for the 24-year-old’s signature. Juve has now accepted their offer, and he will continue his career there on loan with an obligation to buy. ............ OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL: Juventus sign Pierre Kalulu on loan with option to buy ............ Juventus announced Wednesday evening that they have signed AC Milan center back Pierre Kalulu on a season-long loan deal that will have an option to buy come next summer. On the surface, it’s a solid move to secure a talented 24-year-old defender like Kalulu for a low loan fee of €3.3 million and a relatively affordable buy option 10 months from now. But the major concern is that Kalulu might not be able to shake the injury concerns that are now attached to him after he was limited to just nine Serie A appearances last season. Juventus’ buy option new summer to make Kulalu’s loan deal permanent is set at €14 million with another possible €3 million in performance-related bonuses. Kalulu, who underwent his medicals earlier in the day on Wednesday, will wear the No. 15 jersey at Juventus, a number that was open with Kenan Yildiz officially taking the No. 10 last week. ............ News of Juventus and Milan talking about a possible Kalulu deal first broke a week and a half ago ... but then suddenly went rather quiet. Like most of the other Juventus transfer dealings right now, it was a waiting game. Kalulu evaluated his options and, just as Juve were done putting the finishing touches on their 3-0 season-opening win over Como, the reports came out that he had decided to call Turin home for the 2024-25 season (at minimum). But with Kalulu comes risk simply because we don’t know if he will be able to be reach the same kind of form he displayed during Milan’s Scudetto-winning campaign in 2021-22 season. Kalulu missed a total of 39 games in all competitions last season because of three separate injuries, the bulk coming with a torn thigh muscle he suffered in late October. ............ Kalulu arrives to complete switch from Milan to Juventus Defender Pierre Kalulu is currently having his medical with Juventus ahead of his switch from Serie A rivals Milan. The 24-year-old arrived at JMedical on Wednesday morning, where he was greeted by a crowd of enthusiastic supporters waiting for his arrival. The Frenchman is set to join Thiago Motta’s project on an initial loan deal with an option to buy. Juve will pay a €3.5m loan fee to bring him on board for the season, and will then pay a further €14m plus €3m in bonuses with a 10% sell on clause if the move does become permanent. ............. Kalulu says yes to Juventus – Decisive meeting with Milan today Milan defender Pierre Kalulu has finally given his approval for a move to Juventus following weeks of negotiations. The Bianconeri turned to the 24-year-old after missing out on Jean-Clair Todibo who instead signed for West Ham. Juve reached an agreement in principle with Milan over a loan with an option to buy for a total sum of 20 million euros. However, Kalulu had reservations about the formula, as he was hoping for either a permanent move or a loan switch with an obligation to buy. Nevertheless, the Old Lady stuck by her guns and gave the Frenchman a sort of ultimatum to render his decision. ............. A crucial meeting will take place today between Juventus and Milan and the player’s representatives as the parties look to define their final agreement. Juventus will likely pay 3.5 million euros as loan fees while the option to buy the player will be worth 14 million in addition to bonuses. Milan will also retain a 10% sell-on fee. ............. Why Milan defender Kalulu remains undecided about Juventus transfer Juventus have recently identified Pierre Kalulu as their new primary target to bolster the backline. However, the Frenchman isn’t fully convinced. After missing out on Riccardo Calfiori and Jean-Clair Todibo, the Bianconeri have turned to the versatile Milan defender who appears to be outside Paulo Fonseca’s plans. The Turin-based giants are looking to sign the 24-year-old on an initial loan deal with an option to buy. And while the Rossoneri have no qualms about this formula, it has reportedly raised concerns on the player’s part. ............ So it remains to be seen whether Juventus would be willing to tweak the terms of the agreement to appease the player or simply turn their attention to an alternative profile while they still can. ............ Juventus closing in on deal for AC Milan’s Pierre Kalulu The chase for a center back has taken Juve to Milan. With Juventus’ Plan A and Plan B for a center back to pair alongside Bremer having both moved to the Premier League because money talks, Cristiano Giuntoli has had to pivot once again. That, apparently, has led him to Milan where another French defender is next up. According to reports out of Italy on Monday, Juventus and AC Milan are in talks over a deal for defender Pierre Kalulu. The formula is basically what it was when Juve were in talks with Nice for Jean-Clair Todibo, although for nowhere near the same amount of money as they were going to send the French club’s way. This time, Juventus have reportedly sent an offer to Milan in the form of a season-long loan with an option to buy the 24-year-old Kalulu outright next summer. Juve would pay a loan fee around €3 million with an option to buy being in the neighborhood of €15 million. Juventus manager Thiago Motta is reportedly an admirer of Kalulu, who missed a total of 39 games in all competitions a year ago during an injury-ravaged 2023-24 campaign with Milan, most of which due to a torn muscle in his thigh he suffered in late October. ............ Kalulu, in theory, is a solid signing and one that can likely play a few different positions across the backline for Motta this coming season. However, the simple fact that he is coming off a season filled with injuries that limited him to just 375 minutes in Serie A is a major sticking point. ............ Kalulu Set for Juventus Switch, Clubs Expand Talks Pierre Kalulu is inching closer to Juventus and might not be the only one to move from Turin to Milan this summer. It’ll be a solo deal, but the two managements discussed a few other players during the meeting to broker the transfer. ............. The Old Lady would pay a chunky initial fee, €3.5M, and then evaluate whether to purchase the defender outright for €14M in a year. The sides are ironing out the bonuses, which should be around €3M, and the resale clause. The negotiation is in its homestretch. ............. Kalulu has an agreement in principle with Juventus for €2.5M wages. The Bianconeri proposed Federico Chiesa and Weston McKennie to Milan. ............. There’s some risk due to his recent injury history but also solid upside. ............. Read more -> https://cultofcalcio.com/kalulu-set-for-juventus-switch-clubs-expand-talks/

Juventus in advanced negotiations to sign versatile Milan defender Juventus are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Milan defender Pierre Kalulu who has now become the club’s new main target to bolster the backline after missing out on Jean-Clair Todibo. With less than a week till the first Serie A kickoff, the Bianconeri are still lacking personnel all over the field, so Cristiano Giuntoli and his collaborators have accelerated their attempts on all fronts. ............. Turin-based giants have presented the Rossoneri with a loan proposal for 3 million euros with an option to buy for another 14 million. However, Milan are seeking a permanent transfer. Therefore, the two parties could eventually agree on a loan with an obligation to buy on certain conditions and for a total of 20 million euros. The negotiations are now at an advanced stage, while Kalulu is in favor of the move. ............. Between injuries and underwhelming displays, the Frenchman lost his starting berth last season, so he would be hoping to reignite his career in Turin. Kalulu can play either as a centre-back or a right-back, making him an important addition to the Thiago Motta’s backline.
