  1. Juventus Player Ratings vs Milan: Di Gregorio salvages a point in dull affair Juventus registered their fifth draw in as many matches across all competitions, after firing blanks against Milan. Much was expected from the Allianz Stadium clash between the two old Serie A rivals, but the action fell off the mark. The Bianconeri had very few chances to score, with the most memorable being Federico Gatti’s close-range attempt that was miraculously denied by Mike Maignan. ............ Juventus (4-2-3-1) Michele Di Gregorio – 8 A superb showing from the Italian goalkeeper who pulled off a string of saves, including a late one on Leao. Federico Gatti – 6 The former Frosinone man should have done better in front goal, but was somehow denied by Maignan. But did well at the back. Daniele Rugani – 6.5 A confident display from the experienced defender, although Santi Gimenez gave him a few scares. Lloyd Kelly – 6 The Englishman was solid in defence, but gave away a spot kick. While it was a harsh decision, he should have avoided the situation by beating Gimenez to the ball. Pierre Kalulu – 6 ............ Manuel Locatelli – 6 ............ Weston McKennie – 5.5 ............ Andrea Cambiaso – 5.5 ............ Francisco Conceicao – 6.5 The Portuguese was an absolute livewire down the right flank. He was easily Juve’s main source of danger, but his impact dwindled as the match progressed. Kenan Yildiz – 5.5 The Turk began his evening with some flashes of brilliance, but the tide gradually turned in Youssouf Fofana’s favour, with the Frenchman getting the better of him. Jonathan David – 5.5 The energetic Canadian pressed high and connected with his teammates. However, Juventus need goals from their main striker, whereas the 25-year-old slipped when he had the opportunity to threaten his former Lille teammate, Maignan. Substitutes Khephren Thuram – 6 ............ Dusan Vlahovic – 5 ............ Loic Openda – 5.5 The Belgian wasted a promising chance with a wayward shot. Filip Kostic – N/A . 2. Player Ratings: Juventus 0-0 Milan – Flat attacks as Pulisic misses big chance Juventus vs. Milan – player ratings Juventus (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio 6; Gatti 6, Rugani 6 (86′ Kostic), Kelly 5; Kalulu 6, Locatelli 6, McKennie 6, Cambiaso 5.5; Conceicao 5.5 (69′ Vlahovic 5.5), Yildiz 5.5 (69′ Openda 5.5); David 5 (69′ Thuram 6). Coach: Tudor 6. Best Juventus player: Locatelli 6 – There wasn’t really a standout performer among the Bianconeri. Daniele Rugani started the first game this season and looked quite in control at the back. Gatti had the best chance in the game for Juve, but was denied by a fantastic Mike Maignan save in the second half. Manuel Locatelli was composed on the ball and helped defensively, but nobody gave that decisive spark to win the game. Lowest Juventus rating: Kelly 5 – The Englishman caused a penalty kick for a foul on Santiago Gimenez, and it could have been a costly mistake. Luckily for the Bianconeri and Kelly, Christian Pulisic skyrocketed the attempt from the spot. Juventus coach: Tudor 6 – The priority was not to lose the game, and the performance was quite flat in the end. Credit to Milan defenders as well, as they conceded very little to the Old Lady. The question is whether Juventus have enough quality to offer more than this. Surely the boos from the Allianz Stadium at full-time were not encouraging. Milan (3-5-2): Maignan 7; Tomori 6.5, Gabbia 6.5, Pavlovic 6.5; Saelemaekers 6, Fofana 6 (63′ Loftus-Cheek), Modric 6.5, Rabiot 5.5, Bartesaghi 6; Gimenez 6 (63′ Rafael Leao 5.5), Pulisic 5 (74′ Nkunku 5.5). Coach: Allegri 6. ............ . Read more -> https://football-italia.net/juventus-0-0-milan-player-ratings-pulisic/
  3. Juventus fans give warm reception to Allegri on return as Milan coach Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri received a warm welcome from Juventus fans as the Italian tactician returned to the Allianz Stadium as an opponent on Sunday. ............ The Italian tactician had spent eight years at the Allianz Stadium and was appointed as the new Milan coach this summer. Juventus fans booed the Milan squad when it was announced before kick-off, but jeers turned into applause when the stadium’s announcer named Allegri. The Italian tactician hugged many of his ex-players in the tunnel before the teams entered the pitch, including Kenan Yildiz. ............ . 4. Juventus 0-0 Milan – Honours even in cagey affair in Turin as Pulisic misses penalty Juventus and Milan shared the points at the Allianz Stadium this evening after a 0-0 draw marked by a dramatic penalty miss from in-form Rossoneri forward Christian Pulisic. It was a cagey affair to begin with; neither team prepared to take many risks in the early stages. ............ Jonathan David continued his woes in front of goal in the first of two communication mix-ups with Weston McKennie, rising to meet a cross before heading it down at the feet of McKennie who does not have enough time to react. ............ Juventus continued to exploit the space out wide, with McKennie once again getting on the end of a cross but deflecting past everyone and out for a goal kick. A few minutes later, Locatelli played a superb pass through to Kalulu on the right-hand side, with the Frenchman putting the ball on a plate for Jonathan David. However, the summer signing lost his footing and slipped over. Milan had the last good chance of the first half, when a surging run from Pavlovic on the flank saw the defender put a great ball into the box, with Santiago Gimenez heading wide from close range. ............ Juventus started the second half strong, after a short corner taken by Conceicao sees the winger put a good ball into the box, flying past everyone to the back post where Gatti blasts the shot on the volley and Maignan pulled off a wonderful reflex save to deny the Bianconeri defender. Milan finally had their chance to break the dead lock when Lloyd Kelly clumsily fouled Gimenez in the box in the 52nd minute. However, Christian Pulisic stepped up and blasted the ball over the bar, giving Juventus a huge let-off. Milan took control of the game after the penalty miss, pushing hard with Luka Modric orchestrating play in the middle of the park. Juventus had flashes after the hour mark before Rafael Leao came on and nearly marked his cameo with an instant impact. The Portuguese forward saw Juventus keeper Di Gregorio off his line and attempted to lob the shot-stopper from the halfway line. The ball was struck well and the goalkeeper was left scrambling but the shot ended up just over the bar. ............ Juventus’ subs gave them some much needed energy but resulted in the loss of taking off their two most dangerous players on the night: Kenan Yildiz and Francisco Conceicao. The game lost a lot of momentum in the closing stages, Tudor attempted to switch things up by bringing on Filip Kostic for Daniele Rugani but it was too little too late. Allegri’s Milan dug in to pick up a clean sheet and a valuable point on the road. ............ However, with Pulisic’s missed penalty, Milan will be disappointed they were not able to pick up three points at the home ground of one of their fiercest rivals. .
