Is Jonathan David still Juventus’ first-choice striker? Jonathan David joined Juventus this season following a prolific spell at Lille in France. Having allowed his contract to run down, he opted to move to Turin, selecting Juventus from a number of top clubs that expressed interest in his signature. ............ The Canadian striker has experienced some difficulties in certain matches, which has provided Vlahovic with the opportunity to come off the bench and make a significant impact. Despite this, David is determined to maintain his position in the starting lineup, though he may face periods on the bench if Vlahovic continues to perform at a high level. David remains the first-choice striker at Juventus, even as Vlahovic impresses when given the chance. The club anticipates that the Serbian may start select fixtures, but David’s role as a central figure in the attack remains unchanged. ............ David has struggled to find the net consistently in recent games, yet his quality and potential are unquestionable. As a new arrival, he requires time to build chemistry with his teammates and fully adapt to Juventus’ style of play. Patience will be key as he adjusts to the tactical demands of Italian football and the expectations that come with playing for a club of Juventus’ stature. ............ . Moggi picks out the most important player in the current Juventus team Luciano Moggi has highlighted the importance of Dusan Vlahovic’s form to the success that Igor Tudor can achieve at Juventus this season. The striker was initially expected to be sold during the summer transfer window, particularly after Juventus signed Jonathan David and Lois Openda. ............ Although some clubs might have focused on players with a longer-term future at the club, Moggi believes Vlahovic’s performance will be pivotal for Tudor’s ambitions this term. He said: “Igor is a leader, he knows what he’s doing: he’s made his way with us despite not having any natural talent. He needs to understand, and he has, that his fortune depends on Vlahovic, but that Vlahovic needs to be brought on from the bench: that way he can show the world he’s better than the other attackers. If Dusan is fit, we can think about the top four, otherwise I don’t see it being easy. And, in any case, I would have built the team with an extra midfielder, and maybe a defender, and with fewer attacking players.” ............ Vlahovic has started the season strongly for Juventus, contributing important goals whenever he has featured. His ability to influence matches from the bench, as Moggi suggests, could prove decisive in determining how far the team can progress this term. ............ . Juventus is tracking 20-year-old Atalanta jewel Juventus did not secure any signings from fellow Serie A clubs during the most recent transfer window, as Damien Comolli’s strategy was firmly focused on acquiring talent from abroad. However, this approach may change at the end of the current campaign, with reports indicating that the Bianconeri have turned their attention towards a promising young player within the Italian league. ............ Juventus are closely following the progress of Marco Palestra, who is currently on loan at Cagliari from Atalanta. The full back has impressed with his performances this season, establishing himself as one of the standout young wingbacks in Serie A. His form has not gone unnoticed, and Juventus view him as a potential long-term solution in their defensive ranks. The Bianconeri’s interest is further driven by the fact that they failed to bring in a new right back during the summer, despite the departure of Timothy Weah. Identifying Palestra as a potential replacement, Juventus appear prepared to strengthen their pursuit when the season concludes. ............ While Juventus may be considering an approach, Atalanta is reportedly unwilling to sanction Palestra’s departure. The Bergamo-based club are said to regard him as one of their most valuable prospects for the future and remains determined to keep him within their project. Atalanta have historically been reluctant to part with their brightest talents, especially to direct domestic rivals, and this situation is unlikely to be an exception. Nonetheless, player ambition can often influence such scenarios, and should Palestra be tempted by the opportunity to join Juventus, he may push for a move. ............ . Mica male come filosofia! D’altronde Rocchi è conterraneo del Machiavelli... Giusto, Rocchi è fiorentino: c’entrerà mica qualcosa? Stefano Bianchi https://www.juworld.net/articolo.asp?id=26828

Damien Comolli - General Manager
Socrates ha risposto al topic di Socrates in Juventus news in English
Juventus is set to undergo a major board reshuffle Juventus could be on the verge of appointing a new chief executive officer in the coming weeks, with a familiar figure set to take on the role. The development marks another significant moment in the club’s ongoing evolution as it seeks both stability and growth. Maurizio Scanavino has served as the club’s CEO since early 2023, following the resignation of the Andrea Agnelli-led board. ............ However Scanavino is now set to step aside, with Damien Comolli expected to succeed him as CEO. Comolli has already been serving as general manager since the end of last season and has reportedly impressed with his performance in the role. His promotion would signal continuity, while also introducing a new strategic direction for the club. The report further notes that Scanavino is unlikely to depart from the wider corporate landscape altogether. Instead, he is poised to assume another senior position within the Exor group, leveraging his strong credentials as one of the most respected executives in business. ............ Comolli’s anticipated elevation to CEO reflects both his growing influence and the trust placed in his decision-making. His tenure as general manager has already seen him play a central role in shaping the club’s operations, with expectations that he will appoint a new sporting director in the coming months. Such a move would underscore his vision for Juventus and his determination to guide the team towards long-term success. Juventus have benefited from a period of stability under Scanavino’s leadership, and there is confidence within the organisation that Comolli will ensure a smooth transition. His recent contributions have been well-received, and his ability to oversee important decisions has strengthened his case for taking on greater responsibilities. ............ . Capello reveals what’s missing in the current Juventus team Juventus have begun the season in excellent form as the men in black and white aim to reclaim the league title. Under the guidance of Igor Tudor, the team have been performing above expectations and have established themselves as serious challengers for the crown. Supporters and pundits alike recognise the potential of this squad, although some areas still require improvement. ............ Despite the encouraging start, former manager Fabio Capello has highlighted concerns that could hinder the team’s progress. He said: “An extra midfielder. And then the Bianconeri thrive on flashes and bursts of energy: they lack consistency. Tudor obviously needs to find his feet, but the new signings shouldn’t be dismissed. They just need to be given some time to settle in and understand Italy.” His comments underline both the strengths and weaknesses of the current side. While Juventus are capable of moments of brilliance and decisive play, there is an evident lack of sustained rhythm across matches. Capello’s suggestion that an additional midfielder would enhance the squad also points to a structural gap that, if addressed, could make the team more balanced. ............ The season has already confounded those who doubted Juventus before the first ball was kicked. The Bianconeri have reminded the football world of their pedigree, demonstrating once again that they remain one of the leading clubs on the global stage. Their early performances have sparked optimism, yet as with any campaign, challenges remain. The recent display against Verona revealed signs of fatigue, an indication that consistency will be vital if Juventus are to sustain their push for silverware. Nevertheless, the team’s resilience suggests that they will respond positively in forthcoming fixtures. ............ . Juventus will name new President in November A new Juventus President will be named during the upcoming shareholders meeting in November, while Damien Comolli will be promoted as club CEO. ............ According to the report, owner John Elkann is in search of a profile that serves as a representative rather than an operational role, given that the current General Manager, Comolli, will get more power by becoming the new CEO. Giorgio Chiellini could enter the board of directors in November. Gianluca Ferrero, the current Juventus President, was appointed in January 2023 after Andrea Agnelli and the previous board of directors had resigned. ............ Comments from fans on social media appear to suggest that supporters will be glad to see a club legend such as Alessandro Del Piero or Michel Platini becoming the new Juventus President, but according to Corriere dello Sport, Elkann could pick a different name, potentially another French executive. ............ Ferrero and current CEO Maurizio Scanavino may get a different role at the club or be appointed to new positions at Exor, the holding company owned by the Agnelli family. . Damien Comolli - General Manager
Socrates ha risposto al topic di Socrates in Juventus news in English
Comolli tipped to take Juventus back to its glory days Damien Comolli took over as general manager of Juventus at the end of last season and has already had a significant influence on the club’s direction. The Bianconeri endured a difficult campaign, only just managing to secure a place in the top four, which raised questions about leadership and decision-making at the senior level. Juventus see Comolli as a figure capable of restoring their former strength, combining technical expertise with an ability to manage resources effectively. ............ . Football agent Federico Pastorello has expressed confidence in Comolli’s work so far and highlighted his qualities. He remarked: “He introduced himself to Juve in an elegant, discreet manner, with the right profile. Almost… Savoyard, I dare say. I appreciate his integrity and his style: Juve style, indeed. He has great managerial skills and technical expertise. Beyond the results, which I understand are what matters most to the fans, he is working very well in restoring the finances. He is a guarantee. Juve, under his management, will return to being the real Juve.” These comments reflect the respect Comolli has quickly earned since taking charge, not only for his professionalism and composure but also for his focus on ensuring the club’s financial health. In a climate where results dominate discussions, his broader contributions to rebuilding the foundations of the club are being recognised. ............ As one of the world’s most prestigious clubs, Juventus are under constant scrutiny when it comes to key appointments, and Comolli’s early months suggest he is meeting the challenge decisively. His willingness to act boldly has been evident, and supporters will now look to see how his transfer decisions translate into performances on the pitch. ............ . Fitness coach says Zhegrova can now play 90 minutes for Juventus Edon Zhegrova has begun to feature for Juventus in recent matches, gaining a few minutes on the pitch as he works towards full integration with the team. Having joined the club in the most recent transfer window, he arrived as a highly regarded signing and was considered one of the key additions to strengthen the Bianconeri’s attacking options. ............ Despite this careful approach, Zhegrova’s personal trainer Ardian Sallahu has confirmed that the player is in peak condition and ready to take on greater responsibility. Sallahu explained: “I helped him weather the storm, to come back stronger than ever. Because yes, he is different than before. Zhegrova is fully capable of playing 90 minutes of football without any problems. Because it has been a complete transformation. Both physically and in terms of muscle mass development. He’s currently at the peak of his fitness, and I think he’s ready for any challenge that may arise.” These remarks indicate that the attacker has made significant progress in his rehabilitation and now possesses the physical resilience required to play a full match. It also suggests that Juventus may soon be able to rely more heavily on his abilities as he looks to establish himself within the squad. ............ Although the player is eager for more minutes on the pitch, Juventus are managing him with patience. The club secured his services on a permanent deal, providing a four-year contract, which offers them the luxury of time in integrating him properly. Given his potential and attacking qualities, the club is aware of his value, yet remains determined to avoid unnecessary risks that could lead to further setbacks. ............ . Pastorello gives opinion on the development of Yildiz Pundit and agent Federico Pastorello has emphasised the rapid progress made by Kenan Yildiz, noting that the Juventus forward can no longer be regarded simply as a budding youngster. Instead, he believes Yildiz has reached a level of maturity that deserves full recognition for his development and growing influence within the squad. ............ Juventus have taken pride in showcasing Yildiz at every opportunity, and his reputation has grown beyond the domestic stage. He has already been shortlisted for UEFA awards and was present at the recent Ballon d’Or ceremony. While he did not secure a trophy on that occasion, his trajectory strongly suggests that it is only a matter of time before he does so, given his remarkable progress and technical ability. Pastorello, who attended the event, spoke highly of the forward’s development. He stated: “Despite being a year younger than Paz, I no longer consider the Turk a budding talent, but a fully-fledged champion. A true Parisian sensation, like the one he took part in Monday night’s Ballon d’Or award ceremony. And besides, you don’t become Juventus’s No. 10 by chance…” ............ The significance of wearing the No. 10 shirt at Juventus underlines the level of trust and expectation placed on Yildiz. At just 20 years of age, he has already become a central figure for both his club and his national team, demonstrating his ability to handle responsibility on the world’s biggest stages. Looking ahead, Yildiz is expected to play an increasingly decisive role in the pursuit of future silverware. ............ . “I think he’s extraordinary” Juventus midfielder receives high praise Former Maurizio Sarri assistant Giovanni Martusciello has highlighted the impressive performances of Khephren Thuram at Juventus, underlining the Frenchman’s growing importance to the Bianconeri. Since his arrival last season, Thuram has steadily established himself as a key figure in the midfield, showing determination and consistency in his contributions on the pitch. ............ Speaking about the current Juventus squad, Martusciello expressed his admiration for the midfielder. He stated: “Who do I like? Thuram, I think he’s extraordinary. Overall, they seem like a team that can have its say until the end. Then, to fight for the big goals, at least the ones they’ve always had in Turin, we need more time.” This observation reflects not only Thuram’s individual performances but also the growing potential of the team as a whole. Juventus appear to be building towards greater ambitions, and Thuram’s consistent development suggests he could play an integral role in helping them achieve their objectives. ............ Thuram has developed into a more complete player, combining consistency with an improved ability to score goals. This additional quality allows him to make a direct impact on results, further strengthening his case for regular inclusion in the team. His adaptability and relentless work rate make him too valuable to be overlooked whenever he is fit to play. ............ . Atalanta is dealing with multiple absentees before Juventus match Atalanta are preparing to take on Juventus in their upcoming Serie A fixture, though an increasing number of injuries within the squad has complicated their preparations. The clash promises to be significant, with both teams aiming to consolidate strong starts to the campaign. ............ Despite their resilience, Atalanta face notable selection problems ahead of the match. As many as seven key players could be unavailable due to injury. The list includes Isak Hien, Giorgio Scalvini, Sead Kolasinac, Nicola Zalewski, Ederson, Mitchel Bakker, and Gianluca Scamacca. Losing such influential figures would significantly impact Ivan Jurić’s ability to field his strongest line-up, particularly against an opponent of Juventus’ calibre. There has, however, been some positive news for La Dea, with Ademola Lookman returning to the squad. The forward had previously been absent amid tensions surrounding a potential transfer, but his reintroduction offers a timely boost to Atalanta’s attacking options. His pace and creativity could provide a much-needed spark, especially with other senior players unavailable. ............ For Juventus, the challenge will be to avoid complacency. Although Atalanta’s absences appear substantial, Jurić’s side has built a reputation for resilience and tactical organisation, traits that can trouble any opponent. The Bianconeri must approach the match with focus and discipline, ensuring that they impose their game plan from the outset. ............ . Tudor keen to start with key Juventus duo against Atalanta despite exhaustion Juventus manager Igor Tudor has reportedly decided to keep two of his main protagonists in the starting lineup against Atalanta. Much has been made about the club’s lack of depth which came to light in recent days. The Bianconeri were embroiled in back-to-back wars against Inter and Borussia Dortmund, where they had to go the extra mile to salvage results through last-gasp goals. ............ This weekend, Juventus will host Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium in one of the most anticipated fixtures of the Serie A matchday. But while some are expecting Tudor to introduce a few changes to the lineup to inject fresh blood into the team, the manager is determined to start with Kenan Yildiz and Khephren Thuram. The influential duo have been selected in every fixture since the start of the season, as they’re considered part of the team’s backbone. ............ On the other hand, Yildiz remained on the pitch for the duration of the match, but he was far from his best, as his spectacular plays weren’t on display at the Bentegodi. Nevertheless, Tudor believes that with a full week of rest, the two players should be able to regain their energy levels and act as pillars once again against Ivan Juric’s side. ............ . New signing pushing to earn a Juventus start Edon Zhegrova has featured as a substitute in Juventus’ last two matches, with the club carefully managing his return to competitive action. The Kosovar winger joined from Lille during the recent transfer window but has endured a difficult year, having been sidelined with injury since the beginning of 2024. Although fully recovered before making the move to Turin, Zhegrova did not play again for Lille prior to his transfer. As a result, Juventus have opted for a cautious integration. ............ Juventus possess notable strength in depth across their forward line, reducing the need to accelerate Zhegrova’s involvement. The winger is already pushing to secure a starting role, demonstrating ambition and a strong desire to make his mark in Serie A. However, the report makes clear that he faces stiff competition from established names within the squad, which may prolong his wait for a first start. For Zhegrova, the challenge is to balance his eagerness with patience. A premature return to heavy minutes could risk aggravating previous injuries, potentially sidelining him for an extended period once again. ............ Supporters may be eager to see Zhegrova from the outset, given his reputation for flair and creativity, but his long-term availability is ultimately more valuable than a hasty introduction. The careful management of his recovery suggests that when he does earn his place in the starting eleven, it will be on the basis of full fitness and readiness to contribute effectively. ............ . Juventus already consider selling disappointing star in January Following another underwhelming start to the season, Teun Koopmeiners could be running out of credit at Juventus. The Bianconeri purchased the Dutchman just over a year ago for a whopping €60 million, as Atalanta refused to grant them any discounts. ............ This season, Igor Tudor launched a mission to revitalise the player’s career. The Croatian manager has been fielding Koopmeiners in various playing roles, mainly an attacking midfielder, a wingback, and, more recently, a central midfielder. ............ Juventus are now willing to sell Koopmeiners as early as January, at least if they receive the right offer. ............ The Bianconeri are determined to bolster their midfield ranks in the middle of the season, and one of the solutions could be Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, a player whom they have been chasing for years, and could finally be available on the market, as his contract with Al-Hilal will expire in June. That being said, it should be noted that Juventus didn’t even attempt to sell Koopmeiners in the summer, as they realised that no suitor would be willing to match his book value. And after a forgettable start to the new season, there’s little to suggest that the situation will change in January. ............ . Martusciello urges Juve to sign Milinkovic-Savic: “He can do it all” Juventus have been told to go after Al-Hilal star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, as they look to strengthen their midfield department. The Bianconeri sold Nicolo Fagioli to Fiorentina last January, while Douglas Luiz returned to England through the gates of Nottingham Forest in the summer. On the other hand, the Serie A giants didn’t make any additions to the middle of the park, only bringing back Fabio Miretti following a loan spell at Genoa. ............ Most observers are now expecting Juventus to address this issue in January, while several reports claimed that the club has revived their interest in Milinkovic-Savic. The Bianconeri spent years chasing the midfielder during his time at Lazio, but he eventually joined Al-Hilal. However, the 30-year-old’s contract with the Saudi Pro League giants is set to expire in June, so he could be available on a cut price in January. For his part, Giovanni Martusciello believes the former Serbian would be the ideal profile to bolster the middle of the park. “Sergej is a great guy. He understands football. He likes to attack but doesn’t shy away from defensive play,” said the 54-year-old in his interview. “He also has an imposing physique, with unique qualities. He can always bring something out of the hat when you least expect it. “His numbers and goals speak for themselves. He’s coming off a few seasons in a league I’m unfamiliar with. But we’re talking about a complete, healthy and intelligent player. He has mental balance and would be able to handle the pressure of Juve.” ............ ” If I’d had the opportunity, I would have advised him against going to Saudi Arabia. But these are personal choices. However, he has depth and ability, great motivation. He took this step knowing he would return to Europe at some point. “He can play as a central midfielder or in a more attacking role. He knows how to exploit the space as he sees fit. He can do it all, really,” concluded the former Empoli manager. . Read more -> https://www.juvefc.com/martusciello-juventus-sergej-milinkovic-savic/
