Gli scettici, effettivamente, ci avevano visto bene, cominciando a criticare il centrale olandese fin dalle prime uscite stagionali. Sarri, anche se debilitato dalla polmonite, sembra avergli dato ragione. Eppure, prima che si gridi al fallimento anticipato - una moda fin troppo di moda da quando il calciomercato si commenta sui social - bisogna analizzare ogni aspetto di quella che, al momento, sembra una scelta annunciata. DELUSIONE? - Certo, se spendo trecento euro per una cena, magari da Massimo Bottura, non mi aspetto di mangiare bene. Mi aspetto di mangiare come mai ho mangiato nella vita. Un errore, in questo momento tanto flessibile, quanto già cruciale della stagione, potrebbe costare al giocatore più caro che non una sconfitta vista dalla panchina. Insomma, perdere a Parma verrebbe perdonato alla squadra, ma una sbavatura di De Ligt non verrebbe condonata dalla critica. Quindi, nessuna bocciatura, ma tante precauzioni. Credere che sia tutto facile, avendo dimostrato un talento sopra le righe, sminuisce il valore stesso di quel talento: vorrebbe dire che De Ligt non appartiene a questo mondo, che non ha bisogno del tempo perché lui, nella sua natura di semidio, non ne ha bisogno. Ecco, no. Anche il talento va coltivato e, per emergere, ha bisogno anche di qualche passaggio intermedio. Di qualche schiaffo, morale s'intenda.

However, that would’ve taken the value of the transfer to around €40m rather than the original €30m. Sportitalia claim Roma offered €10m plus the two youth players and no more. Riccardi showed on Instagram that he was not prepared to leave the Lupi and now transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla claims the whole deal has been scrapped. Negotiations broke down definitively and Juve must find someone else to take the Italy international centre-back, who is surplus to requirements.
