  4. TORINO - JUVENTUS September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee:‬ Silvio Mazzoleni Line-ups: Torino-Juventus Sep 29, 2013 The Derby della Mole is today’s early kick-off, as Alessio Cerci takes on Carlos Tevez in the Battle of Turin. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus have been stuttering of late, going behind against Copenhagen, Verona and Chievo, but fighting back to get results. Simone Pepe, Martin Caceres and Rubinho are unavailable, but Andrea Pirlo is rested ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League match against Galatasaray. Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio instead pull the midfield strings with Arturo Vidal. Sebastian Giovinco is the new partner for Tevez, but ex-Torino captain Angelo Ogbonna is on the bench. Torino are having a strong start to this season and particularly Cerci, who is joint Capocannoniere with Giuseppe Rossi of Fiorentina on five goals. He is joined by Ciro Immobile, who is unusually co-owned by Juventus and Torino. The statistics are not happy reading for the Granata, who haven’t even scored against Juve since 2002 and are without a victory since 1995. Alessandro Gazzi, Paulo Vitor Barreto and Jean-Francois Gillet remain suspended in the Calcioscommesse scandal. 5. TORINO - JUVENTUS September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee: Silvio Mazzoleni Lapo Elkann: Tevez will decide derby The 35-year-old entrepreneur backed 'the Bull' to shine at the Stadio Olimpico, whilst hitting out at racism which has become synonymous with Serie A. Sep 29, 2013 Lapo Elkann claims that Juventus striker Carlos Tevez will be determining factor in Sunday's Turin Derby. http://markting10.nl/ The 35-year-old entrepreneur is just one of a number of Bianconeri followers to have been impressed not only by the Argentine's goals, but also his aggression. However, Elkann remains wary of the threat posed by Torino, and their in-form forward Alessio Cerci in particular. "Who will decide the derby? The bull, Tevez," the brother of FIAT chairman John Elkann told Tuttosport. "In the Champions League, Juve has not started at their best. But, as in life, it is wrong to make a judgement right at the start. "Over the past two years, the club has shown strength and determination in every sector. They can go far this season. "But beware of Cerci. Beyond the individual talent, I have to say that the coach [Giampero Ventura] has done a good job overall." Meanwhile, Elkann then turned his attention to the incidents of racism that have marred the opening rounds of the new Serie A season. "Enough with racism," he pleaded. "Italian football has become an adult: one has to be civil. Enough wasting time and energy with this negativity. "For the sake of Serie A, there needs to be positivity, as we are losing competitiveness not only to the Liga, but also to the Bundesliga, Premier League and even Ligue 1." The Derby della Mole is scheduled to kick off at 12:30CET on Sunday. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

  7. TORINO - JUVENTUS September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico Turin Referee:‬ Silvio Mazzoleni Serie A Preview: Torino v Juventus Juventus will hope to maintain their 18-year dominance over local rivals Torino when the sides meet in Serie A on Sunday. Sep 28, 2013 The last time Juve suffered defeat in the clash was in 1995, and they have since won 10 of the 14 subsequent meetings. http://markting10.nl/ Antonio Conte's side sit in fourth place, having dropped points just once this season, while city rivals Torino find themselves in eighth having lost only once. Juventus were given a stiff test last time out however, as they were forced to come from behind at Chievo on Wednesday thanks to a second-half effort from Fabio Quagliarella and an Alessandro Bernardini own goal. However, the hosts were left aggrieved after seeing a goal wrongly chalked off due to an incorrect offside call and Conte believes his side were lucky to get away with the three points. "Chievo's sense of fair play is impressive and everyone should follow their example. We were lucky today, because the situation went our way," he said. "Up until that moment the match was in our hands with Gigi Buffon acting as a spectator. We did well to press the reset button at half-time and turn it around after the break." After a disappointing season last time out, in which they finished 16th, Torino have made an impressive start to their campaign, going into the derby unbeaten in three matches. Giampiero Ventura's men also have an in-form Alessio Cerci in their ranks, with the former Fiorentina forward scoring four times in his last three games to sit joint top of the scorers' standings. Ventura wants his side to continue their impressive start to the season when the champions come to town, adding that he feels the league is a tougher proposition this year than last. "We have many new players at this club and we have also changed our formation but we are a team that always tries to play purposeful football," Ventura said. "We want to grow and continue pushing on because we are playing in a league that is more difficult than last year.” Torino have not beaten Juventus in their last 14 games, last securing local bragging rights in 1995 thanks to a 2-1 win. Torino have also failed to score against Juventus in their last eight meetings - last finding the net in the derby in February 2002. Juventus remain without long-term absentees Simone Pepe (thigh and Martin Caceres (knee), while a broken foot keeps Torino's only injury concern, Marcelo Larrondo, out of the game. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  8. TORINO - JUVENTUS September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico Turin Referee:‬ Silvio Mazzoleni Two tactical maestros, one city, one formation Sep 28, 2013 Recent history has hardly been kind to Torino. Having not won against their Turin rivals since 1995, they are desperate to make an impression this season and in Giampiero Ventura, they certainly have a tactician capable of springing a surprise. He is, after all, the man who inspired Antonio Conte. http://markting10.nl/ Both tacticians have achieved success with the 4-2-4 shape, both have tinkered with different formations and tactics and both have now settled for a 3-5-2 module. Ventura, ever the revolutionary tactician, has decided to deploy a different shape on the pitch this season. Whilst he opted for a 4-2-4 formation for much of last year, towards the end of the season, we saw Ventura tinker quite a bit. In the match against Juventus in April, we witnessed him mirroring Conte's formation, playing a 3-5-1-1 shape whilst the next match against Milan saw Torino switch to a 5-3-2 formation. It was that 5-3-2 formation deployed against the Rossoneri that was used again and again, until the end of the season, occasionally changing it to a 3-5-2 depending on the opposition's style of play. Over the summer, Ventura's decision to toy with this new shape caused commotion in the peninsula, as it seemed the tactician was far too fond of a four-man back-line to ever buy into the latest Serie A fad. However, the coach argued that the change in form was simply pragmatic considering the qualities of the squad he now boasts. Not only, his admirers wrote, did it give the side greater mobility in attack but it has also solidified the defence. As such, it was a sensible decision and Torino have played a 3-5-2 formation in all their Serie A games this season. The wing-backs now sit higher up the pitch and are encouraged to attack as long as they pay attention to their defensive duties. Danilo D'Ambrosio has especially benefited from the opportunity to contribute more towards the attacking passages of play and has already scored two goals this season. So impressive are his performances that there's been talk that he may well form part of Cesare Prandelli's Azzurri in the future -- that is if he continues to impress on the field. Interestingly, although D'Ambrosio tends to adopt a deeper position on the field than one expects (sitting just behind the halfway line), he has proved more incisive when attacking than Matteo Darmian who sits on the right flank and adopts a much higher position. Whilst Darmian may not be as adept at scoring goals, he certainly knows how to push forward, with most of Toro's attacking passages of play coming from that right flank. Up front, the Granata boast an unlikely partnership in Ciro Immobile and Alessio Cerci. There were fears the duo wouldn't work well together and there were certainly signals that justified these fears early on. However, against Milan, the two showed a growing understanding with Immobile delivering the assist, a perfect through ball, for Cerci to convert. The latter has now scored five goals in five games, gaining consistency and proving to be Torino's most feared player. Fast breaks are what we can expect from Ventura's side. They are adept at absorbing pressure before pushing with pace, having already scored two from counter-attacking situations. They are dangerous from set-pieces and clinical with their finish. Defensively, they are surprisingly not the biggest tackling side, in fact they perform fewer tackles than any other Serie A side yet they rarely concede shots. That's not to say they cannot be overcome but considering Juve's history of squandering goal scoring opportunities, it will be another tough test. Andrea Pirlo is likely to be rested for the derby so that he will be fit for the home game against Galatasaray midweek, whilst it seems Claudio Marchisio, Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal will start. In defence, ex-Torino defender Angelo Ogbonna will have to watch the action from the bench as Conte prepares to reinstall Juve's most effective trio at the back. Up front, questions remain. Carlos Tevez is predicted to start but it seems no journalist agrees on who will partner him. Sebastian Giovinco may prove useful in a derby whilst Fabio Quagliarella seems to be in great form. Fernando Llorente proved impressive against Verona and motivated against Chievo so may offered another start but Mirko Vucinic is ready to come back. So who will it be? A fascinating match between two tactical maestros, the Derby della Mole is always a special game but with these two coaches in charge, one hopes it will be delectable. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  9. TORINO - JUVENTUS September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico Turin Referee:‬ Silvio Mazzoleni Torino v Juventus – Team News, Tactics, Lineups And Prediction Sep 28, 2013 The City of Turin will be divided come Derby Day. Torino welcome their city rivals Juventus on Sunday for the Derby Della Mole. You don’t have to dig too deep to find Juventus’ last victory against Il Toro. The Serie A Champions did the double on their neighbours last season with an aggregate score-line of 5-0. Torino, on the other hand, have struggled to get the better of Juventus and you’d have to go back 18 years to meet their last victory against the Bianconeri. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus have started the season in just the fashion that was expected of them. Unbeaten, and two points off leaders, Roma, they sit in 4th place on league standings. As for Torino, they’ve started their season on a positive note as well. Two draws, two wins and a solitary loss against Atalanta is the only blemish on an otherwise solid beginning. The Granata occupy 8th place in the league charts. Team News and Tactical Brief TORINO Manager Giampiero Ventura has been in many ways a mentor to his opposite number. Antonio Conte modeled his 4-2-4 formation on Ventura’s philosophy. Ventura, ironically enough, has now shifted tactics to a 3-5-2 system, one that emulates, none other than Conte’s. It’s this change in formation that has perhaps catalyzed their great start. It certainly will receive credit for two of the most flourishing players in the system: Alessio Cerci and Danilo D’Ambrosio. Cerci who has been an inconsistent talent for most of his career, is firmly laying a claim for a spot in Cesare Prandelli’s Italy squad for the World Cup. Cerci has been shifted into the centre as a floater in behind the team’s prima punta. That freedom to invent and navigate has brought out the best in him. With 5 goals, he’s the surprising leader of the goal-scoring table. The other revelation has been Danilo D’Ambrosio. The wing-back has seen his potential exploited in his new role that has perhaps relieved a bit of his defensive duties. They are the threats Conte will highlight for his side to be wary of. Torino could take encouragement from the teams that have set out to hold fort against Juventus. Set-pieces will obviously be something Ventura will instruct his team to target as a means to obtain a goal but you’d expect them to sit back and hit the Bianconeri on the break. Cerci’s excellent form bodes well for Torino and he will be at the heart of all things good that the Granata have to offer. Only Marcelo Larrondo is injured for Ventura’s men. Possible Starting XI (3-5-2): Padelli; Darmian, Bovo, Moretti; D’Ambrosio, Basha, Vives, El Kaddouri, Pasquale; Cerci, Immobile JUVENTUS Recent games have seen Juventus do just enough to get over the finishing line. Against Chievo, they did have lady luck on their side with a goal wrongly disallowed for the Flying Donkeys coupled with an own goal that gave them the three points. With the rotation policy employed by Conte, he’d be content with the victories coming by. On the flip-side though, their propensity to concede first is not something Conte will be pleased with. Their character and famous fighting spirit comes to the fore here but they’ll be wishing they didn’t make things hard for themselves to begin with. The rotation is set to continue with Conte expected to reintroduce Tevez, Vidal, Vucinic, Lichtsteiner, Asamoah and Bonucci to the playing eleven. Juventus may have an eye on the crucial Champions League game in midweek against Galatasaray and with that in mind, a few players might be rested. Andrea Pirlo is one such player. The former Milan man has attracted criticism for his slack start to the season and as such could be ‘benched’ or ‘rested’, as you please. What that does is allow us to get a look at the highly intense midfield trio of Vidal-Pogba-Marchisio; three players with high energy levels that make for a pulsating prospect. Pepe, Rubinho and Caceres are not included in the travelling Juventus squad. Possible Starting XI (3-5-2): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pogba, Marchisio, Asamoah; Tevez, Vucinic Player To Watch Out For Claudio Marchisio (Juventus) No player knows the true meaning of a local derby more than, well, a player that was born and brought up in the City. Claudio Marchisio is one such player. The Prince of Turin has come through the ranks at Juventus and is a symbol of the club. He’s someone who is fully aware of the magnitude of the derby and one that often rises to the occasion. Marchisio has yet to make an impact this season but what better way than against rivals, Torino. Prediction Torino 1-2 Juventus Juventus will begin the game as favorites as their sheer quality tips the scale in their favor. Conte rightly noted that form goes out the window in derbies. The element of passion comes into play. History, of course, certainly points towards Juventus and you’d expect the Bianconeri to emerge from this game with a hard fought slender win. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  10. TORINO - JUVENTUS September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico Turin Referee:‬ Silvio Mazzoleni Torino vs. Juventus Preview: Round 6 — Hello to an old friend Wait, somebody not from Verona? I don't get it. Sep 28, 2013 There are a lot of things to be thankful for that the city of Turin has produced. There's Juventus, of course, and everything that comes along with it. There's an intense derby to look forward to twice every season. There's the fact that one of Juve's best players, Claudio Marchisio, was born and grew up just minutes away from where he now makes a living. http://markting10.nl/ Sunday is one of those days where everything comes together into one. The Derby della Molle is a unique day for the city of Turin, one that sees Juventus face Torino. But for a couple years as Torino hung out in Serie B, we didn't have the Turin derby to watch twice a season. Luckily for us, it returned with a bang on the first day of December last year. In case you forgot what happened, watch this here video for a quick reminder. http://youtu.be/OQERpHt9kPo (No, really. That's really Nicklas Bendtner playing in a game for Juventus.) And if you forgot about what happened in the second Turin derby last season, here's Claudio Zuliani to remind you of all the fun in the rain Juventus had as they moved that much closer to a second straight title. Good times, good times. Basically what I'm trying to say with all of this is that the Derby della Molle is back for another season. It's Juventus vs. Torino at the Stadio Olimpico. There may or may not be rain in the forecast, but there will certainly be a lunchtime kickoff for the first time in quite a little while. And I could go on and on about how the derby is different from other games, but I'll just snag a quote from Antonio Conte's pre-match press conference on Saturday that sums things up nicely: "We've got great respect for Torino because they're a fine, well-organized side with fine players and an excellent coach. We know that derbies are always particular types of games in which the form guide goes out of the window." Bingo. On with the show. GOOD NEWS If last season's two Turin derbies were a sign of what's to come, we should be expecting a goal from Claudio Marchisio tomorrow. Maybe it's the Turin thing, maybe it's just because he's awesome. Maybe it's both. But if Il Principino wants to continue this trend of scoring goals against the team his wife happens to root for, you won't find me objecting to it. BAD NEWS Have you seen Juventus' finishing lately? Sure, the possession has been comfortably in their favor. But the finishing, yeah, it hasn't exactly been what some would call "clinical." WHAT TO WATCH FOR 1. How will a rested Carlos Tevez do? In the past we've discussed how a rested Andrea Pirlo is just that much better than the usual product. Now, after coming off the bench in the second half against Chievo on Wednesday, Carlos Tevez gets to show us just how much not playing 90 minutes could help him. His form this season has been fantastic — making an impact right from the word go and easily establishing himself in the Juventus squad. The goals are of course what will grab the headlines, but just about everything Carlitos has done so far has been impressive as hell. And what better way to keep the very good form going than in the Turin derby, something Tevez has been educated on by a certain Turin native in recent weeks. 2. Who will start alongside Tevez? We've seen Fernando Llorente brought into the mix now that Conte has deemed him fit to play on a regular basis. As a result, Mirko Vucinic's time on the field ever since the international break ended has been cut. The knee injury he suffered while on international duty with Montenegro is likely a big factor in that. Conte was very coy during the presser on Saturday when it comes to Vucinic's status for the derby. That could just be Conte being Conte and Vucinic is good to go, but we'll just have to wait and see on that. 3. Containing Alessio Cerci. If you had Alessio Cerci being joint-top scorer in Serie A through the first five games of the season, then you should probably drop what you're doing right now, move to Las Vegas, and visit a couple of casinos. Or just go to one if your luck is clicking and the bets are paying out. But back to Cerci. He's just three goals behind the figure (8) he had all of last season, and is certainly one of the most in-form players in Serie A at the moment. He's looking right at home as a striker in Torino's 3-5-2 formation and his pace will certainly a point of emphasis for Juve's back three to contain. 4. How Paul Pogba plays in place of Andrea Pirlo. Word on the street — or amongst those on the internet — is that the maestro will be rested with an eye on the Champions League tie against Galatasaray. My response: GOOD. Pirlo's form has been discussed in many a thread in recent weeks and keeping him fresh with so many games going on right now. That means Pogba, who has been filling in for Marchisio for almost the entire early part of the season, will slot back into a some see him filling on a regular basis in the not-so-distant future. Judging by the way the 20-year-old Frenchman has played this season, there's no reason to think he won't have some kind of impact on the result. 5. The Antonio Conte vs. Giampiero Ventura dynamic. There has been a lot of talk about the two managers leading up to the derby. It makes sense, considering their past. One IVentura) took over for the other (Conte) at Bari and almost always of the same mind when it comes to tactics. It's something Mina Rzouki pointed out in her Friday column: Both tacticians have achieved success with the 4-2-4 shape, both have tinkered with different formations and tactics and both have now settled for a 3-5-2 module. Ventura, ever the revolutionary tactician, has decided to deploy a different shape on the pitch this season. Whilst he opted for a 4-2-4 formation for much of last year, towards the end of the season, we saw Ventura tinker quite a bit. When Juventus and Torino take the field tomorrow afternoon at the Olimpico, Ventura will almost certainly throw out tactics that will emulate those of his counterpart on the Juventus sideline. And since Conte knows Ventura's tactics just about as well as anybody — and vice versa — the battle on the field will be just as interesting as the one going on between the two men roaming the sidelines and barking out orders to their players. My starting XI (3-5-2): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pogba, Marchisio, Asamoah; Llorente, Tevez OFFICIAL KICKOFF TIME: 12:30 P.M. IN ITALY; 6:30 A.M. ON THE EAST COAST; 3:30 A.M. ON THE WEST COAST http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  11. TORINO - JUVENTUS September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico Turin Referee:‬ Silvio Mazzoleni Torino vs. Juventus Preview Sep 28, 2013 Juventus enter their city derby with Torino this weekend following two wins after back-to-back draws in Serie A and the Champions League, respectively. However, these recent victories have been somewhat lacklustre in nature. http://markting10.nl/ They showed a lack of cutting edge against Hellas Verona, then scraped a win at Chievo Verona after the Flying Donkeys had a goal chalked off for a fantasy offside call. Torino are unbeaten in their last three games, taking five points, but the Granata might feel they should have taken maximum points in this run, as they had the lead against Milan and Hellas Verona. It has been 14 matches since Torino were able to win the Turin Derby, a spell that stretches all the way back to 1995, so Toro will be desperate to break this record. The Bianconeri have bigger fish to fry next week, though, with Galatasaray in the Champions League, a match that is massively important after the stuttering start in Copenhagen. Giampiero Ventura will hope that Antonio Conte rests several players and that his side can catch the Old Lady cold. Torino team news: Marcelo Larrondo remains the only long-term absentee through injury; the former Siena striker is out with a foot injury. Alessandro Gazzi, Paulo Barreto and Jean-Francois Gillet are all out still through suspension. Ciro Immobile was left out against Hellas as a precaution after a bout of fever, but the Azzurrini striker will be expected to come back into the lineup. Ventura rested several other players midweek in anticipation, so we can expect Omar El Kaddouri, Giuseppe Vives, Kamil Glik and Matteo Brighi to return from the start in the Derby. Lastly, star player Alessio Cerci, who has been struggling with fitness lately, will continue to shake off his knock to inspire the Granata with his scorching-hot formscoring five times in as many games so far this season. Probable lineup: Daniele Padelli; Kamil Glik, Cesare Bovo, Emiliano Moretti; Matteo Darmian, Matteo Brighi, Giuseppe Vives, Omar El Kaddouri, Danilo D'Ambrosio; Alessio Cerci, Ciro Immobile. Juventus team news: Simone Pepe, Martin Caceres and third-choice goalkeeper Rubinho are still out with injury. Doubts remain as to whether Conte will rest players ahead of the Champions League, though. Leonardo Bonucci, Arturo Vidal, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Kwadwo Asamoah and Carlos Tevez were handed rests on their trip to Verona, yet it is not definite that the Bianconeri will field their strongest team here, given the emphasis of the Champions League on their season. It does feel like Conte will be forced to field a strong side, given how hot Roma, Inter, Fiorentina and Napoli have started the season. Probable lineup: Gianluigi Buffon; Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini; Stephan Lichtsteiner, Claudio Marchisio, Paul Pogba, Arturo Vidal, Kwadwo Asamoah; Carlos Tevez, Mirko Vucinic. Key Battle: Alessio Cerci vs. Leonardo Bonucci Cerci has started the season in sensational form and is probably the best player in Serie A when carrying the ball at his feet. With electric pace and the ability to keep the ball glued to his boot as he eats up the ground, opponents can rarely keep pace when the former Fiorentina star gets going. Bonucci is adept at reading the game and also possesses speed himself, so it will be crucial to Juve's chances of winning to stifle Toro's danger man. Cerci's form has carried over from last season, and he appears to relish the prominent role he has been handed by Ventura at Toro. With license to roam across the front line and the ability to find his strike partner Immobile from any angle, due to his wand of a left boot, Toro's hopes rest solely on the 26-year-old. A great performance against the champions will surely prompt Cesare Prandelli into considering whether to incorporate Cerci into his starting lineup in the remaining World Cup qualifiers, especially now that the Azzurri are already qualified. When Bonucci steps out from the back to build Juve's play, he will find Cerci snapping at his heels from his role in the hole between the Old Lady's defence and midfield. If Cerci can unsettle Bonucci when Juve have possession and disrupt the flow of his distribution, Torino stand a chance of creating an upset. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  12. TORINO - JUVENTUS September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee:‬ Silvio Mazzoleni Immobile back for Turin Derby Sep 28, 2013 Ciro Immobile and Guillermo Rodriguez are available for Torino in the Derby della Mole against Juventus. http://markting10.nl/ Immobile is co-owned by Juve, but had been suffering from a bout of flu over the past week. Rodriguez has also shaken off an injury, though Marcelo Larrondo is out for two months after fracturing his foot against Milan. Alessandro Gazzi, Paulo Vitor Barreto and Jean-Francois Gillet remain suspended in the Scommessopoli scandal. Torino squad for Juventus: Berni, Gomis, Padelli; Bovo, D’Ambrosio, Darmian, Glik, Maksimovic, Masiello, Moretti, Pasquale, Rodriguez; Basha, Bellomo, Brighi, El Kaddouri, Farnerud, Vives; Cerci, Immobile, Meggiorini http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  13. TORINO - JUVENTUS September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee:‬ Silvio Mazzoleni Cerci: 'Tevez doesn't have this...' Sep 28, 2013 Alessio Cerci is Capocannoniere and joked about Juventus rival Carlos Tevez. “He doesn’t have my left foot...” http://markting10.nl/ The Torino winger has been transformed into a striker this season with great success, leaping to the top of the scorers’ charts with five goals in as many games. He’ll come face to face with the Bianconeri and their star forward Tevez on Sunday at 12.30pm. “Tevez has extraordinary technique and quality, physical stamina and great character, which all together make him special. However, he doesn’t have my left foot... I might not have his right foot either, but he doesn’t have my left,” Cerci told Tuttosport. “It is nice to feel like a reference point for this splendid squad. I see what we do during the week to improve and this too is why I’m happy to be important for the team. I arrived late for pre-season training because I was at the Confederations Cup and didn’t even know some of my teammates, but I immediately realised a real team unit was coming together.” Cerci will face one of his former teammates on Sunday, as ex-Torino captain Angelo Ogbonna moved to Juventus this summer for €13m plus add-ons. “I spoke to Angelo a few days ago, but we didn’t mention the Derby. I’d be pleased if he played because Angelo is a good lad who gave so much to Toro over the years and always behaved well within the squad. “Juventus have defensive solidity under Antonio Conte and to create problems we’ll need to receive the ball close to the box. It’s all about being balanced and prepared at the back too.” Cerci had been linked with some top clubs over the summer, including Napoli, Milan and Roma, but opted to remain at Torino. “I have no regrets, but at the same time it’s normal that a player wants to be in the Champions League. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t. “Was I close to leaving Torino? It wasn’t very clear, but I always said I wanted to remain. I am happy here, people love me at the club and I had no intention of moving on. If I had to analyse a proposal that couldn’t be refused, I would’ve done that too. After all, I’m 26 and the ambition is different to when you’re 20. That ambition is to play in the Champions League.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

  15. Marchisio: 'I'll be Juve's Totti' Sep 28, 2013 Claudio Marchisio reveals he wants to be “the Francesco Totti of Juventus” and aims for yet another Turin Derby goal. http://markting10.nl/ The midfielder has a great history in this fixture, putting three goals past them in the last two meetings. The teams clash again on Sunday at 12.30pm. “I’d love to be the Francesco Totti of Juventus. I won’t make comparisons on role or history, but I hope to end my career with this jersey,” Marchisio told the Corriere dello Sport. “Is that what Alessandro Del Piero thought? We all know what happened. Francesco will be fortunate enough to terminate his career at Roma, but Alessandro’s Australian experience with Sydney cannot make anyone forget what he did for the Bianconeri.” Yet over the summer Marchisio complained in the media that he would walk away if the club no longer felt he was needed. “I just had to blow off steam because I was constantly reading in the papers that I was being linked to this or that club. I wanted clarity, the club publicly supported me, so I didn’t have any more doubts after that.” He also spoke to Tuttosport ahead of the Derby della Mole and can’t wait to see how new teammate Carlos Tevez deals with the situation. “Carlos has that spirit that perhaps we all need to rediscover. Seeing how eager he is to get goals reminds me of that sporting aggression we had in the first year under Antonio Conte. “There’s no point hiding it, after two years of success you run the risk of thinking it might be easier this time round. Instead, we can see there’s absolutely nothing easy about it. In fact, the teams we face know us better and are able to tactically close us down. “The Scudetto rivals are also stronger than in the past and this has to act as an alarm bell. We need to wake up.”
  16. TORINO - JUVENTUS September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee:‬ Silvio Mazzoleni MATCH PREVIEW Sep 28, 2013 The latest edition of the ever-fiery Derby della Mole sees Torino and Juventus looking to continue their positive starts. http://markting10.nl/ Torino were twice pegged back by Verona on Wednesday as the match ended in a 2-2 draw. Alessio Cerci reaffirmed his role as Torino’s key player as he bagged a brace, however Juanito and Jorginho ensured a share of the spoils. While coughing up leads against Verona and Milan, Giampiero Ventura’s men can be pleased with their position after five rounds. With only one loss so far they sit in the top half, even if Giampiero Ventura felt they deserved maximum points against the Gialloblu. Marcelo Larrondo is the only Granata player not in contention to feature in the derby, through injury. Juventus made it back-to-back Veronese victories with another comeback, this time against Chievo. Cyril Thereau put the hosts ahead, but Fabio Quagliarella and an Alessandro Bernardini own goal gave Juve a hard-fought 2-1 victory. Conte called Wednesday’s success a test of character, yet worrying for Juventus is the fact they continue to fall behind. Following Inter, Copenhagen and Verona, the Chievo contest was the fourth in succession in which they conceded the first goal. The Bianconeri made it through the Chievo trip unscathed, with Simone Pepe, Martin Caceres and Rubinho still the only players missing. Juve have the edge in Torino-hosted affairs. The Bianconeri have claimed 27 victories to Toro’s 18, with scores remaining level on 23 occasions. Last term a Juve late-show meant a 2-0 victory and one hand on the Serie A trophy. Keep an eye on: Alessio Cerci (Torino) – The Italian international has enjoyed an explosive start to the new season. Cerci is atop the scoring charts following his Verona double and looks at home in the 3-5-2 formation. Juve must be wary of his capabilities. Form guide: Torino (W L D W D) Juventus (W W D W W) Last season: Torino 0-2 Juventus Stat fact: Torino remain without a Mole triumph since dual victories in 1994-95, a run of 14 encounters. TORINO (probable): Padelli; Darmian, Bovo, Moretti; D’Ambrosio, Basha, Vives, El Kaddouri, Pasquale; Cerci, Meggiorini JUVENTUS (probable): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Pogba, Pirlo, Vidal, Peluso; Tevez, Vucinic http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
