  1. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Real Madrid v Juventus Team News, Tactics, Line-ups And Prediction | UEFA Champions League Oct 22, 2013 Real Madrid and Juventus, two heavyweights of European football, go head to head at Santiago Bernabéu tomorrow in their next Champions League groups stage fixture. The clubs have a lot of shared history, with Juventus having the upper hand in this fixture in recent times: The Italian club have won five of their last six meetings with Real Madrid. In fact, Real Madrids last win over Juventus came in 2005 when Ivan Helguera scored the winner. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus won 2-0 on their last visit to this stadium as club legend Alessandro Del Piero scored a memorable brace to stun the home support. This will be the eighth meeting between these two sides at Bernabéu, and the home side have won five of those matches. It is fair to say that Juventus are in more desperate need for a positive result in this game than Real Madrid, having drawn their opening two matches and lagging behind table toppers Madrid who have won both of theirs. Team news and tactics REAL MADRID Real Madrid have had a busy summer with big name arrivals and departures grabbing all the headlines. The Madrid club have made a good start to their season under new manager Carlo Ancelotti. They are currently third in the league table behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, having won seven of their nine matches. Their only defeat this season, in any competition, has been against their neighbors Atletico Madrid in the La Liga. http://markting10.nl/ They have made a brilliant start to their European campaign as well with two impressive performances against Galatasaray and Copenhagen in their opening two matches. Madrid have scored 10 goals in these two games conceding just one in the process. In their last European game, Los Blancos dismantled FC Copenhagen at home as Cristiano Ronaldo and Angel Di Maria scored a brace each. With every other team struggling in this group, Real could virtually book their place in the next round with a victory against Juventus. Real Madrid are coming into this game on the back of a 2-0 victory over Malaga, with Angel Di Maria and Ronaldo getting on the score sheet. This win helped them reduce the gap at the top as both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid dropped points. Carlo Ancelotti doesnt have too many injury concerns at this moment. Record summer signing Gareth Bale has recovered from his injury and featured as a substitute in their last game, but the former Tottenham winger is not fit enough to start this game and will find his place on the bench. Xabi Alonso is also close to completing his return to the starting line-up, but he is unlikely to feature in this game. http://markting10.nl/ Carlo Ancelotti is expected to make three changes to the side that he fielded against Malaga. Karim Benzema will replace Alvaro Morata upfront, while Raphael Varane will return to the center of defence alongside Sergio Ramos. Iker Casillas is also likely to feature in goal in place of Diego Lopez. Ancelotti used a 4-3-3 formation against Malaga in the league, but against Juventus he would go for a more conservative 4-2-3-1. Juventus looked vulnerable on the break against Fiorentina last weekend and Real Madrid have the right ammunition in their side to exploit exactly that. Expected starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Casillas (GK); Carvajal, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo; Khedira, Illarramendi; Di Maria, Isco, Ronaldo; Benzema JUVENTUS Juventus have made a shaky start to their campaign this season. While they have won six of their opening eight league games, they havent been producing the performances that one has come to expect from them under Antonio Conte. They are already five points behind league leaders AS Roma and will certainly need to improve if they are to harbor any hope of retaining their Serie A title. The Italian side have won only four of their last eight matches in all competitions. The Bianconeri have also made a disappointing start to their European campaign with two draws in their opening two matches against Copenhagen and Galatasaray. In their last European game, Juventus conceded an early goal against Galatasaray, but two late goals in the second half from Vidal and Quagliarella looked to have secured a victory for them. Only Umut Bulut managed to equalize right at the end. It was a disappointing result for them and one that extends the lead at the top to four points for Real Madrid. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus are coming into this game on the back of another disappointing result against Fiorentina in the league. Juventus dominated for 60 minutes in that game and had a two goal lead, but Fiorentina then came back strongly and the Juventus defence crumbled under pressure. Fiorentina scored four goals in fourteen minutes as the game turned on its head. Antonio Conte will hope that his side will have recovered from this morale shattering loss to their rivals ahead of this big game. Conte has some injury concerns ahead of this game: Simone Pepe, Mirko Vucinic, Fabio Quagliarella and Stephan Lichsteiner are all out of contention. Arturo Vidal, who missed the match against Fiorentina, has reportedly picked up an injury; concerns regarding his fitness ahead of this match means he could possibly start on the bench. http://markting10.nl/ Antonio Conte is expected to make only one change to the starting line-up that was fielded against Fiorentina. Mauricio Isla is expected to replace Simone Padoin on the right. He will use his usual 3-5-2 formation and will hope for a much improved showing from the likes of Pirlo and Bonucci in this game. Expected starting line-up (3-5-2): Buffon (GK); Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Isla, Pogba, Pirlo, Marchisio, Asamoah; Llorente, Tevez Players to watch out for: Isco (Real Madrid); Carlos Tevez (Juventus) Prediction: Real Madrid 2-1 Juventus Blast from the past
  2. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Conte: Juventus not afraid of Real Madrid The former Italy international freely admits that the Bianconeri were left shell-shocked by last weekend's loss to Fiorentina but he is anticipating a backlash at the Bernabeu. Oct 22, 2013 Antonio Conte says that while Juventus have the utmost respect for Real Madrid, the Italian champions do not fear los Blancos. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri suffered their first defeat of the season at the weekend, blowing a two-goal lead as they suffered a shock 4-2 loss to Serie A rivals Fiorentina. Conte admits that he remains baffled by Juve's capitulation at the Artemio Franchi but he is expecting his players to rise to the occasion against Madrid on Wednesday night. "Something unthinkable happened in Florence, but in football these things can happen," the former Italy international told reporters on Tuesday. http://markting10.nl/ "Maybe were were so calm that we weren't prepared for the shock of conceding a goal. "But this game against Madrid gives us great excitment and motivation. We are playing against one of the most decorated sides in the world. "It will a tough game, but I'm sure that we will give our all. We must be willing to suffer. It will take great attention on our part, from a technical and tactical point of view. http://markting10.nl/ "We respect them, but we certainly don't fear them." The game at the Santiago Bernabeu pits Conte against a coach he served under during his time at Juve as a player, Carlo Ancelotti, a man he holds in the highest esteem. "Certainly, as a coach, I envy the successful career that Carlo has had, although I have not started so badly myself," he mused. http://markting10.nl/ "It's clearly not a negative envy, rather a compliment to the path that he has followed. And now he has arrived at Real Madrid, who are the maximum." Juventus have drawn their opening two games in Group B, so they are in dire need of a win at the Santiago Bernabeu. Conte, therefore, is hoping that two of his most experienced performers will lead by example. "Gianluigi Buffon is a champion, both as a player and as a man," the ex-Bianconeri midfielder enthused, "while since joining, Carlos Tevez has brought great desire and has had a great impact on Juve's world."
  3. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Real Madrid-Juventus Preview: Struggling Bianconeri hoping to kickstart campaign in Spain Antonio Conte's men, fresh from a devastating loss to Italian rivals Fiorentina, need to pick up points at the Santiago Bernabeu after drawing their opening two European fixtures. Oct 22, 2013 Juventus face a tough ask in their bid to win their first Champions League match of the season when they travel to Real Madrid on Wednesday. http://markting10.nl/ In a meeting of two of the true giants of European football, the Italians will be desperate for a win that would keep them in second position in Group B. Antonio Conte's men have been held to 1-1 and 2-2 draws against Copenhagen and Galatasaray, respectively, and will enter the fixture off the back of a disappointing 4-2 loss at Fiorentina on Sunday. First-half goals from Carlos Tevez and Paul Pogba looked to have the Bianconeri side cruising, but Fiorentina – who were inspired by a hat-trick from Giuseppe Rossi – scored four times in the last 25 minutes to inflict Juve's first defeat of the season. http://markting10.nl/ Conte hopes his side can respond quickly and denied claims that they were focusing on Madrid in the build-up to their trip to Florence. "We lost a game that we dominated for 70 minutes. We were home and dry and had more than one opportunity to score the third goal," the former Italy international said after the defeat. "I don't think our focus was already on Real Madrid, otherwise we would have got our overall approach wrong." http://markting10.nl/ Defender Stephan Lichtsteiner (thigh) and midfielder Simone Pepe (thigh) have been ruled out of the fixture. And Juve's injury worries do not stop there, with strikers Mirko Vucinic and Fabio Quagliarella (both thigh) also set to miss out. Nine-time winners Madrid have won both of their Champions League fixtures this season, thrashing Galatasaray 6-1 before easing past Copenhagen 4-0. http://markting10.nl/ Cristiano Ronaldo has scored five goals in those two matches, making him the competition's leading scorer. The Portuguese star – who was top scorer last season with 12 goals – has now scored 24 goals in his last 20 Champions League appearances. Ronaldo's 56 career strikes in the competition also see him fourth in the all-time scorers' list. World-record signing Gareth Bale has made just four appearances for Madrid since joining from Tottenham but returned from a thigh injury in the club's 2-0 win over Malaga on Saturday. http://markting10.nl/ He is expected to feature against Juve, while midfielder Xabi Alonso has returned to training following a broken foot. The match will come too soon for Alonso but the news of his return will be a significant boost for the Blancos, who can move a step closer to qualification for the Round of 16 with another victory. 4. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Alonso ruled out of Juventus clash The Spain international returned to full training earlier this week but will not be risked against the Bianconeri with a Clasico to come on Saturday. Oct 22, 2013 Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Xabi Alonso will not feature in Wednesday night's Champions League showdown with Juventus. http://markting10.nl/ The influential midfielder has not managed a single minute of first-team football this season after suffering a foot injury just as he was about to make his return from a groin problem. Alonso did return to full training on Monday but Ancelotti has decided against risking the Spain international against Juventus, given los Blancos face Barcelona in la Liga on Saturday evening. "We have all of our players available except for Xabi Alonso - but I am not going to give you my team for tomorrow [Wednesday]," the Italian told reporters on the eve of the Group B match. http://markting10.nl/ Ancelotti did admit, though, that he will resist the temptation to push Cristiano Ronaldo into a more central attacking position in spite of Karim Benzema's poor form in front of goal so far this season. "Ronaldo starts on the wing but he will push on and try to score from a forward position - it's very hard to score from the wing," the former AC Milan boss mused. "We are not so crazy as to change the position of a player who scores 40 or 50 goals from a particular area of the pitch." http://markting10.nl/ Ancelotti refused to confirm if Gareth Bale will start, admitting that Angel Di Maria could well get the nod on the right wing. "Di Maria is playing well," he enthused. "He is full of confidence. He has a lot of character. I hope he continues that way as he is very important for us, as he can play in many positions." Juventus are sweating on the fitness of Arturo Vidal and Ancelotti admits that the Chile international would be a big loss for the Bianconeri despite their strength in depth. http://markting10.nl/ "Juventus in general have many players with a lot of quality," he pointed out. "Arturo Vidal is very important: he can score and move about the pitch well. "He has shown his quality. But, individuals aside, their overall strength lies in their organisation." Ancelotti, of course, spent two years in charge of Juve between 1999 and 2001 and when asked what has changed since his spell in Turin, the 54-year-old joked: "My hair! http://markting10.nl/ "No, many things have changed. I have more experience now. My experience at Juventus was very important in terms of my growth as a coach and a person. "The results maybe were not great but my experiences and memories from that time are good ones."
  5. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Ronaldo: We must leave Bale alone The Portugal international has defended his team-mate against recent criticism, while also stressing that Karim Benzema remains a key figure ahead of the game against Juventus. Oct 22, 2013 Cristiano Ronaldo has urged fans and the media not to pressurise Gareth Bale as he looks to adjust to life at Real Madrid after an injury-hit start to his time with the club. http://markting10.nl/ The 24-year-old has been struggling with physical problems ever since joining Madrid, but Ronaldo is confident that Bale will do well at the Santiago Bernabeu side if given the time and space to find his feet at his new club. "Gareth has been doing well since he arrived. He didn't put in a pre-season so that made things a bit more difficult for him," the Portuguese attacker said at a press conference. "We can't pressurise him, we must allow him to develop here. He always wants to learn, he's a fantastic guy. http://markting10.nl/ "I don't think talking about his price tag helps him and we must leave him alone in that aspect. He will do great things for the team." Ronaldo, 28, also had his say on the situation of Karim Benzema and insisted that the Frenchman remains an important player for Madrid. "Every player has good and bad moments. He is important for the team even though he might not be scoring a lot of goals. http://markting10.nl/ "He is a professional and he is always ready. I see him in good spirits, he is calm. He always looks to help out the team by scoring or otherwise." The 28-year-old then went on to discuss Wednesday's Champions League game against Juventus and stressed that Madrid must remain focused if they are to get a good result. http://markting10.nl/ "We have many big games in important tournaments coming up. We have six points in the group - nobody qualifies with six points. The Juventus game is a huge game. "We are always thinking game by game. We want to win this one. We are expecting a great Juventus team, even though they lost their last match in Serie A. We must concentrate." Madrid currently hold a four-point lead over the Italian champions in Group B of the Champions League.
  6. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Buffon unimpressed by Real Madrid spending The Italy international feels the Santiago Bernabeu side lack a clear philosophy and has criticised their transfer policy. Oct 22, 2013 Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has questioned Real Madrid's big-spending ahead of their Champions League meeting on Wednesday. http://markting10.nl/ The Liga champions spent a world-record €100 million fee on Gareth Bale during the summer transfer window after previously splashing the cash on players such as Zinedine Zidane, Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo, but Buffon is not impressed with their lavish transfer policy. "There's not much of a difference [compared to the Madrid of Zidane, Ronaldo and Luis Figo]. The philosophy 10 years ago is the same as it is now: buy great players, entertain the crowds and maintain the prestige and great history that Real Madrid has," the Juventus goalkeeper told Marca. http://markting10.nl/ "But the reality is that in football, above all now, that's not enough to win. "It's better to have a project, balance and patience. Money is a good starting point but it's not enough in itself." Juventus currently sit second in Group B in their Champions League campaign after two draws in as many matches, traling leaders Madrid by four points.
  7. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Ronaldo never stops impressing, says Pepe The centre-back has voiced his admiration for his team-mate, while speaking of his respect for Gianluigi Buffon and Andrea Pirlo as he prepares to face the pair on Wednesday. Oct 22, 2013 Real Madrid defender Pepe has taken the time to praise compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo following his fine start to the 2013-14 campaign. http://markting10.nl/ The prolific attacker has already netted 13 goals in 11 official appearances this season and Pepe believes the 28-year-old stands out from his team-mates for his ability to keep on impressing game after game. "Every single one of my team-mates has quality. All of them have shown that they deserve to be at Real Madrid," Pepe told the Bwin website. "However - Cristiano, because of everything that he has been doing over the past few years at Real Madrid - is a player who everyone watches and who impresses every day and in every match." http://markting10.nl/ The centre-back then went on to discuss Wednesday's Champions League encounter against Juventus and singled out Gianluigi Buffon and Andrea Pirlo as the Serie A giants' key men. "Juventus are one of Europe’s and Italy’s big teams. They have two Champions League titles and great footballers. I hope it is a good match and that the fans enjoy it. "We have to respect all of their players. They have key players like Buffon and Pirlo, but I think the most important thing about them is the team as a whole." Madrid currently sit atop of Group B with six points from two games, holding a four-point lead over Juve.
  8. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Llorente: Juventus brimming with confidence ahead of Madrid clash The Spain international is optimistic about his side's chances against the Liga giants and is keen to make an impact at the Bernabeu. Oct 22, 2013 Fernando Llorente is confident that Juventus have what it takes to record a positive result against Real Madrid in Wednesday's Champions League game. http://markting10.nl/ The Serie A champions have struggled in Europe so far after having to settle for a draw against Copenhagen and Galatasaray, but the striker feels the match at the Santiago Bernabeu could be a turning point, even though he realises it will not be an easy game. "It’s a good opportunity for us to claim some points, but we know that it won’t be easy because Madrid are a great team," Llorente told Juventus TV. "However, we believe in our chances. They’re a complicated side to face. They let you play, but then create plenty of danger when in possession." http://markting10.nl/ The 28-year-old then went on to admit that he's pleased to briefly return to his native country, while he is keen to find the net against Madrid. "It’s pleasing for me to play against a Spanish side, even more so when it’s an important one such as Real Madrid. We need to show what we’re capable of producing. http://markting10.nl/ "I’ve already scored twice at the Bernabeu. It’s a truly impressive stadium. When you come out of the dressing rooms it really does hit you. "I think it’s one of the most majestic footballing venues and playing there is different to any other stadium." Wednesday's encounter at the Bernabeu kicks off at 20:45CET.
  9. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Chiellini: 'Real face best Juventus' Oct 22, 2013 Giorgio Chiellini is confident Real Madrid at the Bernabeu will “get the best out of Juventus” and be a turning point. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri have stuttered this season, earning two Champions League draws with Copenhagen and Galatasaray before dropping a 2-0 lead to lose 4-2 at Fiorentina on Sunday. “We made some defensive errors, but we are working hard and I am certain we’ll get right back on track, just like we did in the past,” said the defender in his Press conference. He will have to be on his toes on Wednesday night against the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. http://markting10.nl/ “Just talking about Bale and Ronaldo is reductive, because all of Real Madrid’s individuals are very talented. “We respect Real, but want to prove we can do well in this stadium where everyone suffers. A game like this can get the best out of Juventus and provide a positive turning point. “We need to really want it, though.”
  10. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Conte: 'Juve don't fear Real' Oct 22, 2013 Antonio Conte assures Juventus have “no fear” when taking on Real Madrid at the Bernabeu tomorrow night. http://markting10.nl/ The two giants clash in Madrid on Wednesday at 20.45 for the Champions League. “This game gives us huge motivation. Something imponderable happened in Florence, but in football this can happen. The numbers say we create a great deal,” said the Coach in his Press conference. He was referring to Sunday’s shock 4-2 defeat at Fiorentina, after his side had been 2-0 up until past the hour mark. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri’s form in Europe has not been better with two draws against Copenhagen and Galatasaray, both after going behind. “We will play our game at the Bernabeu against one of the most successful clubs in the world. Tomorrow we’ll have to know how to suffer under pressure, but we must also be able to hurt them. “We respect Real Madrid, but have no fear. We are stepping on to the field well aware of our capabilities. This is going to be very tough, but it is an opportunity for us to give our all and prove ourselves too. http://markting10.nl/ “Tomorrow’s result will mean nothing in terms of qualification, whether we win or lose, as there are still another three games to go. We have to prove we’re up to the standard of this great football stage, not with words, but on the pitch. “I tip my hat to Carlo Ancelotti for his extraordinary career. It was great to have him as my Coach at Juventus.” Carlos Tevez will start, while Mirko Vucinic, Fabio Quagliarella and Stephan Lichtsteiner are sidelined. http://markting10.nl/ “Tevez has had a very positive impact at Juve. He sets the example in terms of quality and hard work he puts into everything. “Fernando Llorente is in good shape, he is at my disposal with the rest of the squad and I will make my decisions tomorrow.” http://markting10.nl/ Gigi Buffon has been criticised recently for his form, though some have said old age has made him ‘merely human’ after years of heroics. “Buffon is a champion as a football player and as a man. He is a guarantee for me and always will be,” added Conte.
  11. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Varane back for Juve Oct 22, 2013 Raphael Varane has made Real Madrid’s squad for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Juventus after concerns over his knee. http://markting10.nl/ The youngster returned from international duty with France last week struggling with discomfort and inflammation in the same knee he had only just returned to playing on after surgery in May. As a precaution, the centre-back missed training through last week and sat out the weekend win over Malaga. However, on from having since returned to training, Varane has made the 22-man squad named by Carlo Ancelotti today to face the visit of Juve this midweek. http://markting10.nl/ Real Madrid squad to face Juventus: Casillas, Diego López, Jesús, Varane, Pepe, Ramos, Coentrão, Marcelo, Carvajal, Arbeloa, Nacho, Khedira, Bale, Casemiro, Modric, Di María, Isco, Illarra, Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Jesé, Morata
  12. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Ancelotti wary of Juve & Vidal threat Oct 22, 2013 Carlo Ancelotti has highlighted the threat Arturo Vidal will pose when Real Madrid face Juventus on Wednesday. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri travel to Santiago Bernabeu looking for their first Champions League win of the season tomorrow. And the Italian tactician has admitted he is wary of the Turin side’s quality. “We have to analyse all aspects of Juve's last game, every minute and not just the 15 minutes when they struggled,” he told a Press conference. http://markting10.nl/ “Juventus in general have many players with a lot of quality. Arturo Vidal is very important, he can score and move about the pitch well. “He has shown his quality. Individuals aside, their overall strength lies in their organisation. “Our game against Málaga last weekend was a good one. We need to repeat that intensity tomorrow. We have more confidence. http://markting10.nl/ “Let's see what happens. I think we are better now [than at the start of the season]. We are playing with intensity. “We are focused. I know this is an important week and we are preparing well. Ancelotti then commented on his squad’s fitness ahead of the clash, as well as his aims for the season in the Spanish capital. http://markting10.nl/ “We have all of our players available except for Xabi Alonso - but I am not going to give you my team for tomorrow. Sergio Ramos is available - he can play. “Ángel Di María is playing well, he is full of confidence. He has a lot of character. I hope he continues that way as he is very important for us, he can play in many positions. “The aim here is for the young players to be the future of the club. Real Madrid had a clear objective in that - it is the priority of the club and the coach. http://markting10.nl/ “It is not easy to play here. They are gaining very important experience. Álvaro Morata is doing very well, I am happy with him and the rest of the young players. It is a fantastic experience for them. “Ronaldo starts on the wing but he will push on and try to score from a forward position - it's very hard to score from the wing. “We are not so crazy as to change the position of a player who scores 40 or 50 goals from a particular area of the pitch.” http://markting10.nl/ The ex-Juve Coach concluded by remarking on how he’s changed since he was in charge of the Old Lady. “What has changed since I coached Juve? My hair! No, many things. I have more experience now. My experience at Juventus was very important in terms of my growth as a coach and a person. “The results maybe were not great but my experiences and memories from that time are good ones.”
  13. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Untested Madrid trio for Juve? Oct 22, 2013 Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti has this week trained with a provisional midfield trio of Sami Khedira, Luka Modric and Asier Illarramendi. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus visit the Santiago Bernabeu for matchday three of the Champions League group stage on Wednesday evening before Madrid then head out to face Barcelona in the first Clasico of the season. Ahead of those tests, indications from training have suggested that Ancelotti is going to try a new midfield central three of Khedira, Modric and Illarramendi. The Italian recently switched to a 4-3-3 formation and had been using summer signing Isco as one of the central three. http://markting10.nl/ However, training this week has seen the former Malaga favourite seemingly dropped out favour. Ancelotti has for the first time this season been working with a full squad at Madrid, in light of Xabi Alonso’s return to full training yesterday.
  14. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) C. Ronaldo: Juventus a great team Oct 22, 2013 Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo is showing Juventus respect despite their capitulation at Fiorentina on Sunday. http://markting10.nl/ The Italian giants were in control of the game in Tuscany thanks to a 2-0 advantage before conceding four second half goals. “We are expecting a great Juventus team, even though they lost their last match in Serie A,” the Portuguese wizard stated ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League tie. “The Juventus encounter is a huge one and we want to win this one. We must be focused.” http://markting10.nl/ Ronaldo is particularly aware of Carlos Tevez, his former teammate in the Premiership with Manchester United. “I played with Tevez and it was great linking up with him. We will have to be wary of him tomorrow, he is a very dangerous player. “The Champions League is the most important tournament, but whatever competition I compete in I want to win it. http://markting10.nl/ “We want nine points on the board by the end of tomorrow night.” Real will go into the tie as favourites despite their problematic start to the season under new boss Carlo Ancelotti. “We are getting better. We started a bit weak, but we are improving in many aspects. We have to continue like that,” he added. http://markting10.nl/ “It is a thing of great pride to work with this Coach – he is doing an extraordinary job. You can't say more than that. I am willing to give my all for him.” Real have a 100 per cent record in their group, while Juve have been held to draws against FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray. “We have six points on the board and nobody qualifies with six points. http://markting10.nl/ “We are calm, focused. We want to win tomorrow as that will also give us confidence for the game against Barcelona at the weekend. “I don't think it is a decisive week, but it's true that it is an important one for us. We didn't start as we would have liked but we are getting better.” http://markting10.nl/ Tomorrow’s meeting has inevitably seen former Juventus director general Luciano Moggi again remind fans of when he almost signed the player. “I’ve been close to everyone…but the only certainty for me was United,” continued the former Sporting Lisbon winger. “In all seriousness, I was close to Juventus at the age of 18 but I preferred Manchester United for their history and the possibility to mature.”

Llorente on training and tactics… Oct 22, 2013 Fernando Llorente has explained the reasons behind his initial lack of game time at Juventus following his summer move. http://markting10.nl/ The striker joined the club from Athletic Bilbao on a Bosman, but he has struggled to win a regular starting shirt in the plans of boss Antonio Conte. Speaking to AS on Tuesday, the international noted that he has had to get to grips with new training methods and the intricate tactical side of the Serie A game. “We work on strength very differently,” he noted. “I have never done that, used machines I did not know about. And there are other workouts that leave you exhausted. http://markting10.nl/ “The training is more demanding. It’s barbaric, the workouts are brutal, but it has an upside – you are left in better shape. “As for the tactics, they require an adaptation. This team has been playing together for three years. Everyone knows how to play and to produce that game you also have to train a lot. “It is a football that is highly mechanised. You cannot do whatever you want nor just have the ball. Each movement is studied. http://markting10.nl/ “The play ends as it has to end, and there are a lot of plays…” A reason given for his lack of use at the start of the season was the fact that he was mainly left on the bench in Bilbao last term after he decided to let his contract run down. “Even today I do not understand why. Athletic is a club based on their youth team and they cannot sell their best players. That’s the explanation I was given. http://markting10.nl/ “But I also think they wanted to show me, I believe, as an example to other players so that they would not opt to leave the club.” Llorente is back in his homeland today as the Old Lady prepare to play Real Madrid – an outfit who had shown an interest in him. “How many times have they tried to sign me? A few times, but in the end there was no agreement and nothing came out of it. http://markting10.nl/ “When? The last was when I had a year to go on my contract, after the good year in the Europa League. “Then, later on [with six months on his contract] Madrid did not come in for me and Juve did and gave me more confidence.” Juventus will go into the game tomorrow night on the back of a nightmare 4-2 loss at Fiorentina – a game they were leading 2-0. http://markting10.nl/ “We will arrive in Madrid good and strong despite what happened in Florence,” the 28-year-old added. “We have not started too well in the Champions League with two draws against Copenhagen and Galatasaray, so we are hungry to get points and need to get points in these two matches against Madrid.”

  17. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Llorente: Real will let Juve play Oct 21, 2013 Juventus will need to take advantage of the space Real Madrid will give them in this week’s Champions League tie, says Fernando Llorente. http://markting10.nl/ The striker will return to his homeland as the Old Lady will look to pick up their first three points of their European Cup campaign this season. “We must believe in our chances, also because Real are an opponent that allows you to play – even if they are dangerous when they have possession,” said the Bosman signing from Athletic Bilbao. “Personally I am happy to be playing against a Spanish team, especially one as big as Real Madrid,” he continued. http://markting10.nl/ “But we have shown what we can do and we have started well, perhaps not as well as we had hoped in the Champions League and for this reason we now have to do well in these two games that lie ahead. “We have a good opportunity of obtaining points against Real, even if it won’t be easy.” http://markting10.nl/ The 28-year-old added: “It is always exciting to play in a stadium like the Bernabeu, where I have only won once, but that I have scored a couple of times in. “I’m sure Real Madrid will face us with the maximum respect given that they know we are a great side.” Llorente started in the 4-2 loss at Fiorentina on Sunday, but he was unable to improve on just one goal in his Bianconero career to date.
  18. Vidal & Pobga to sign deals soon? Oct 21, 2013 Reports in the Italian Press suggest that Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal could be on the verge of signing new Juventus deals. http://markting10.nl/ Renowned journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola will meet with the Bianconeri hierarchy within seven days to sit down and discuss an extension. The news comes in the wake of comments made by President Andrea Agnelli, who admitted that the club would not be able to turn down a big offer for the France international. http://markting10.nl/ Vidal meanwhile is also close to renewal, and is set to earn €4m per season.
  19. Prandelli on Buffon Oct 21, 2013 Cesare Prandelli has called Gianluigi Buffon ‘the best in the world’, despite some criticising the Juventus goalkeeper. http://markting10.nl/ The veteran Bianconeri man was called up by some sceptics on Sunday after he was at fault for one of Fiorentina’s goal in their 4-2 win. But the Coach has called the shot-stopper the best in the business. http://markting10.nl/ “Buffon is the best in the world,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “He will be our goalkeeper at the World Cup.
  20. Tacconi stands up for Buffon Oct 21, 2013 Juventus and Italy are still in safe hands with Gigi Buffon, says former goalkeeper Stefano Tacconi. http://markting10.nl/ Buffon has had some shaky moments so far this season and questions have been asked of the second goal he conceded in the 4-2 loss at Fiorentina on Sunday. “These kind of moments can happen,” the ex-Juve and Italy custodian told TMW on Monday afternoon. “You just have to know how to get out of them. “I hope that Gigi accepts that he too can make a mistake and that he doesn’t feel as if he is invincible. He just has to think about playing. http://markting10.nl/ “A goalkeeping problem for Cesare Prandelli as well? I don’t think so. What is more important is the organisation of a team. The goalkeeper is a minor issue.” Asked about Juventus’ collapse in Florence on Sunday, where they lost after going 2-0 up, Tacconi said: “They thought they had already won the game. “At the start of the second half it was clear that they believed Fiorentina were dead. But that can’t happen in Florence.”
  21. Moggi recalls missing Ronaldo Oct 21, 2013 This week’s Real Madrid-Juventus tie has again allowed Luciano Moggi to retell how he almost signed Cristiano Ronaldo for the Old Lady. http://markting10.nl/ “We agreed a swap deal with Sporting Lisbon between Marcelo Salas and Cristiano Ronaldo,” Moggi commented on Sphere Sports this week. “Salas travelled to Portugal, but backed out and went to River Plate instead. “At that moment, Manchester United came in and put an offer on the table that we did not have – a situation that forced us to end our interest.” http://markting10.nl/ Moggi was Juventus’ director general for over a decade before he resigned in the summer of 2006 following the Calciopoli revelations. Ronaldo, who will face the Bianconeri in the Champions League on Wednesday, joined United in 2003. He was sold six years later to the Spaniards for around €94m.
  22. Marotta defends beaten Juventus Oct 21, 2013 Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has defended boss Antonio Conte, Gigi Buffon and the rest of the side following the loss at Fiorentina. http://markting10.nl/ The Old Lady looked like they were on the way to three more points before they threw away a 2-0 lead in the 4-2 Tuscan loss on Sunday. “We are aware that everything is still up for grabs and we should not put the Coach – Antonio Conte is doing a great job and is a winner – or the team on trial,” he said at the Premio Fair Play Calcio e Tv. “You can’t offer any excuses really because the game against Fiorentina was illogical. It is difficult to explain. http://markting10.nl/ “It is a moment of blurring. I wouldn’t talk of a crisis, but psychological tiredness. There was no tactical reason for the loss, we have to improve mentally. “We knew it was going to be a difficult year because of the games we have to play and the value of the opponents.” Some have pointed the finger of blame towards Buffon for the second Giuseppe Rossi goal which he conceded at the Franchi. http://markting10.nl/ “Buffon is a champion, the captain and a leader,” the former Sampdoria official added. “We are used to him doing some extraordinary things. “When he limits himself to the ordinary, when he doesn’t stop everything, there is excessive criticism. “Buffon was and remains the best. Right now we are conceding goals which expose him to criticism, but criticism should be made with respect.” http://markting10.nl/ Juventus will next be in action on Wednesday at Real Madrid, a crucial match given that they have drawn their opening two Champions League games. “We are confident of going to the Bernabeu to play our game. It’s an important tie, there are points up for grabs to be conquered with gritted teeth, but we can reach our objective. “The match at the Bernabeu will be against one of the strongest teams, who we face with respect and with the knowledge that we can have a leading role in the encounter.”
  23. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Morata: I won't start against Juventus The 20-year-old was in the first XI against Malaga on Saturday, but he does not feel he has done enough to show he merits a place on Wednesday. Oct 21, 2013 EXCLUSIVE By Alberto Pinero Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata does not believe he will start against Juventus in the Champions League despite playing against Malaga. http://markting10.nl/ The 20-year-old led the line in Saturday's 2-0 victory over the Andalusian outfit, with world-record signing Gareth Bale on the bench and France attacker Karim Benzema left out of the squad completely. However, Morata believes he is likely to be watching from the sidelines against the Serie A champions. "I don't see myself starting against Juventus. I see myself as just one of the team like everyone else," he told Goal. "I'm ready to play when Ancelotti needs me. I hope that we can do well in the Champions League game." http://markting10.nl/ Having made his first-team debut for los Blancos back in 2011, Morata enjoyed what was a rare start in the Madrid line-up at the weekend following impressive appearances off the bench this season. And despite not scoring the youngster was pleased with his display and hopes that the performance will keep him in Carlo Ancelotti's thoughts with the Clasico to come this Saturday. http://markting10.nl/ "Whenever a striker goes home without scoring a goal, it doesn't mean that he did no work at all," Morata continued. "It was a great game against Malaga. We even deserved to have scored one more goal. "They are two great games. We are ready and eager to thrive."
  24. REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Juve have great players, says Pepe Oct 21, 2013 Real Madrid defender Pepe is showing Juventus respect ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League meeting. http://markting10.nl/ Real will host the Bianconeri this week as they look for their third win from three European Cup games this season. “Juventus are one of Europe’s and Italy’s big teams,” he told the Bwin website. “The match could go either way because we are two great teams. “They have two Champions League titles and great footballers. http://markting10.nl/ “We have to respect all of their players. They have key ones like Gigi Buffon and Andrea Pirlo, but I think the most important thing about them is the team as a whole.” When asked which player he would take out of the Juve side if such an opportunity existed, the Portuguese international refused to answer. “They are all very good players, but I don’t think that taking any of them out of the team is good because people like to see that all of the players are at a high level. http://markting10.nl/ “Juve have a lot of them and that is good for the show,” continued the former Porto man. “So that is why I wouldn’t choose anyone.” Juventus have drawn both of their Champions League games this season – against FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray.
