Dybala will snub Man Utd, Barcelona and Real Madrid

by signing new Juventus contract

The attacker has been linked with a £50 million move to another

European giant, but the Serie A champions are poised to end speculation.

Paulo Dybala is ready to commit his long-term future to Juventus by signing a deal that will run until 2021, Goal understands.

The forward currently has an agreement with Massimiliano Allegri’s side that runs until 2020, but interest from the likes of Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid has prompted the Italian side to seek a contract extension for the 23-year-old.

No concrete offers have been placed for the Argentine, yet such is his perceived importance to the future of the club’s project, Juve wish to take no chances.

He stands in line for a bumper pay increase, from a basic salary of €2 million per season up to around €5.5m before bonuses.

For Juve’s part, they wish to take full control over the player’s future by excluding any release clauses in the deal, which is all but completed and could even be agreed next week.

Pierpaolo Triulzi, the player’s agent, will be in Turin over the coming days to finalise the last details and no hiccups are forecast.

Dybala joined the Serie A champions in 2015 from Palermo for a fee in the region of €32m, excluding up to €8m in bonus payments, and made a positive impression in his first season at Juventus by scoring 19 goals in 34 league outings.

He has since followed that up by netting four times and creating three more for Allegri’s side since the beginning of the campaign.

Juventus believe that his value since then has tripled, and eager to avoid the situation that saw Paul Pogba tempted by the wealth of Man Utd last summer, they have offered Dybala terms they believe will definitively put off the pack of clubs surveying him.

Dybala renewal on Wednesday?

http://www.football-italia.net/96961/dybala-renewal-wednesday

Jan 16, 2017

A meeting is reportedly scheduled for Wednesday between Juventus and Paulo Dybala’s agent to put the finishing touches to his renewal.

The forward has been linked with both Real Madrid and Barcelona, but both he and the Bianconeri are insistent that the Argentinian international will remain in Turin.

According to today’s Tuttosport, a meeting has been scheduled between his agent, Pierpaolo Triulzi, and the club for this Wednesday.

It’s hoped that this could be the day where a deal is definitively agreed, with Dybala set to commit his future to the Old Lady.

The newspaper reports that the former Palermo man will see his wages bumped up to around €7.5m per season, the same as the club’s top-earner, Gonzalo Higuain.

Dybala renewal this week

http://www.football-italia.net/97333/dybala-renewal-week

Jan 24, 2017

Paulo Dybala’s Juventus extension will reportedly be announced this week, with no release clause.

The forward has been in talks over a new contract for some time, as the Bianconeri seek to tie him down until 2021.

With La Joya’s agent having arrived in Italy last week, Gazzetta dello Sport believes that an agreement has more-or-less been reached.

Dybala will sign a one-year extension to his contract, earning around €7m per season with bonuses linked to the achievements of the team, rather than personal performance.

In addition, the Old Lady will not include a release clause, so any club looking to sign the Argentine will be forced to negotiate with the Italian champions.

The newspaper expects that the official announcement will arrive at some point this week, probably on Thursday or Friday but certainly before Sunday’s Sassuolo game.

Dybala reassures Rigopiano kids

http://www.football-italia.net/97354/dybala-reassures-rigopiano-kids

Jan 24, 2017

Juventus striker Paulo Dybala spoke to two children left orphaned in the Rigopiano Hotel tragedy and invited them to Turin.

The prestigious spa hotel on the Gran Sasso was flattened by an avalanche, triggered by recent earthquakes, and six days later there are still 15 unaccounted for in the rubble.

The most painful story was of eight-year-old Edoardo Di Carlo, who had both parents killed, and seven-year-old Samuel Di Michelangelo, whose parents are still missing.

One of the psychologists working at the clinic where they are recovered helped to organise a video phone call with Juve striker Dybala.

He tried to reassure them and invited both to visit him in Turin.

The conditions in central Italy remain dire amid heavy snow and tremors, as today a rescue helicopter crashed in the region of L’Aquila, killing six on board.

MANCHESTER CITY TRANSFER NEWS:

LATEST RUMOURS ON PAULO DYBALA

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2689583-manchester-city-

transfer-news-latest-rumours-on-paulo-dybala-eliaquim-mangala

Jan 27, 2017

Juventus star and reported Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid target Paulo Dybala is said to have agreed to a new contract with the Bianconeri. Meanwhile, Valencia might be unable to trigger EliaquimMangala's option once his loan expires.

A number of top clubs are reportedly interested in the services of Dybala, with El Confidencial linking the two giants of Spanish football and the two rivals from Manchester with the Argentinian (h/t Daily Star's Colin Harvey).

TURIN, ITALY - JANUARY 25: Paulo Dybala (R) of Juventus FC controls the ball against Alessio Romagnoli of AC Milan during the TIM Cup match between Juventus FC and AC Milan at Juventus Stadium on January 25, 2017 in Turin, Italy. (Photo by Valerio Penni

But according to Edo Dalmonte of Calciomercato, the former Palermo man has agreed to a new contract with Juventus, where he's set to earn €7.5 million per year, along with bonuses. Several other Italian outlets are reporting the same.

The 23-year-old is regarded as one of the bright young stars of the sport and frequently draws comparisons to compatriot Lionel Messi.

Even team-mate Gonzalo Higuain sees the resemblance, per Squawka News:

La Joya has been a smash hit since moving to Turin, slotting in almost seamlessly. He's struggled with injuries a bit this season but has once again been scoring freely since returning to the pitch.

Capable of playing as a support striker, main striker, in a wide role or even in midfield if needed, Dybala does most of his damage with his clever movement and great technique. He's already among the best dribblers in the world thanks to his remarkable vision and finishing ability.

Here's a look at some of his highlights:

It's easy to see why top clubs are interested in the forward and why Juventus are keen to keep hold of him. Dybala is the team's brightest young star, and keeping him in Turin for the foreseeable future is of vital importance.

Italian clubs don't usually use release clauses, and there has been no mention of such a clause in Dybala's contract, so in all likelihood, clubs will have to pay a world-record fee to land his services if he does decide to leave at some point in the future.

Juventus forward Dybala explains mask celebration

Jan 28, 2017

Paulo Dybala has had plenty of opportunity to air his trademark celebration again this season, with eight goals plundered for Juventus across all competitions.

That tally has been added to the 23-goal haul he managed during his 2015-16 debut campaign in Turin.

The Argentine is now considered to be one of the most fearsome forwards in world football, with his creativity marking him out as more than just a finisher.

Speculation has linked him with some of the biggest clubs in Europe, with Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid among those reported to be admirers of his undoubted ability.

It is, however, expected that he will soon commit to fresh terms with Juve, bringing an end to the uncertainty surrounding his future.

That will allow him to focus on finding the target in Italy and continue to don the ‘Dybalamask’.

The 23-year-old has sought to explain why he channels his warrior spirit upon finding the target, with many observers confused as to the true meaning of his celebration.

He posted on Facebook: “Dybalamask is really simple: it's the mask of a gladiator! When we struggle, sometimes we must wear our warrior mask to be stronger, without losing our smile and kindness!”

Dybala’s next opportunity to break out the mask will arrive on Sunday, when Juventus travel to Sassuolo looking to cement their standing at the top of the Serie A table.

Dybala's Juventus contract announcement soon – Marotta

The striker has been linked with a move away but his club say he is

close to signing an extension with the Serie A champions.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/723/serie-a/2017/01/30/32134912/-

Jan 30, 2017

Paulo Dybala's new contract will be announced "in a few weeks", according to Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta.

Dybala joined Juve from Palermo on a five-year deal in 2015 and his impressive performances have seen him linked with moves to Real Madrid and Barcelona.

However, Marotta is confident of extending the Argentina international's stay in Turin and expects news on the matter in February.

"We're talking with his people, I don't think there will be any problems. The announcement will probably be made in a few weeks," Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.

"Paulo is happy here and we're glad to have him with us, that's why there's every opportunity to move forward together."

Dybala refused to shake coach Massimiliano Allegri's hand after being substituted in Sunday's 2-0 victory over Sassuolo.

Allegri was unconcerned by the snub, and Marotta felt it was simply a sign of frustration at failing to find the net.

"It was a small and insignificant gesture, football is full of these things. We have to look at the whole context – he's an important player and a great professional," he told TMW Radio.

"We know his character, he wasn't being disrespectful to the coach, but showing his anger at the fact he couldn't get a goal. These things are very normal in football."

TRANSFER RUMOUR: MANCHESTER CITY OVERTAKE
REAL MADRID IN RACE TO SIGN PAULO DYBALA

Manchester City have entered the race to sign Paulo Dybala and are now

ahead of Real Madrid in the pursuit of the Juventus forward, as per reports.

http://www.thehardtackle.com/news/2017/02/07/transfer-rumour-

manchester-city-overtake-real-madrid-in-race-to-sign-paulo-dybala/

Feb 7, 2017

According to Javier Matallanas in his blog for Spanish newspaper AS, Manchester City have entered the race to sign Juventus forward Paulo Dybala. He also states that the Citizens have overtaken Real Madrid and are now leading the chase for the Argentinian superstar.

Paulo Dybala continues to grow in stature in Italian football. After three impressive years at Palermo, for whom he scored 21 goals in 90 matches in all competitions, he made the move to Juventus for €32 million in 2015.

In a season and a half since then, Dybala’s stock has only risen further, with the Argentine forward improving his scoring rate significantly while becoming an influential figure for Massimiliano Allegri in no time.

The 23-year-old forward surpassed his Palermo tally in one season as he scored 23 goals in 2015/16 season as Juventus won a league and cup double. And this season, he has continued from where he left off, netting eight times while assisting a further four goals in 23 appearances in all competitions.

His exploits with the Bianconeri has seen the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona being heavily linked with a move for the forward. While Barcelona seem to have cooled off their interest in Dybala, Real Madrid remain interested with Karim Benzema rumoured to be on the way out the Santiago Bernabeu exit door.

However, according to Matallanas, Manchester City have now entered the race to sign Dybala and are now actually leading the chase to be better positioned to land the diminutive Argentinian. And City’s interest in Dybala is not new by any means.

Dybala (Palermo): "When I play with the Playstation, I always choose Barcelona or Manchester City. I dream to play with one of those clubs."

In fact, City were in the race to sign the 23-year-old from Argentine second division for Instituto de Cordoba, but he chose to sign for Palermo instead. With Sergio Aguero being linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium after losing his place in the first team to Gabriel Jesus, Dybala could just be the sort of replacement that Pep Guardiola would want in his team.

Dybala, though, on his part iterated recently that he is happy at Juventus currently and despite links to several clubs across Europe he could soon be renewing his contract with the Serie A champions.

However, it is also important to note that Dybala once stated his love for City, claiming that the Citizens are one of the clubs he dreams to play for. So, with that in mind, City could be heavy favourites to sign Dybala whenever the move does take place eventually.

Dybala shops new sponsorship deal

http://www.football-italia.net/98208/dybala-shops-new-sponsorship-deal

Feb 11, 2017

Juventus striker Paulo Dybala has been dyeing his boots black ahead of a lucrative change of sponsor.

The Argentine had a contract with Nike that expired on February 1, so he played against Crotone on Wednesday with the same old Mercurial boots, but they were dyed black to cover up the logo.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Dybala is considering his next move and it might be away from the powerhouses Nike, Adidas and Puma.

He’d prefer to be the leading figurehead of an advertising campaign rather than just one of many, so he’s leaning towards relatively new brand Under Armour.

The American company just started investing in the European market and signed a £10m sponsorship deal with Tottenham Hotspur.

Among their current star names are American Football legend Tom Brady, Wimbledon winner Andy Murray and basketball hero Steph Curry.

Manchester City 'ahead of Real Madrid in race for Paulo Dybala'

http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/man-city/transfer-talk/

news/man-city-ahead-of-madrid-in-race-for-dybala_291616.html

Feb 11, 2017

Manchester City have reportedly opened negotiations with Juventus striker Paulo Dybala over a summer transfer, having moved ahead of Real Madrid in the race to sign him.

The 23-year-old has been on the radar of both Los Blancos and La Liga rivals Real Madrid for the past 12 months, while Manchester United are also thought to have shown an interest in the Argentina international.

According to The Mirror, however, it is City who are now the frontrunners to sign him at the end of the season, with Juventus chiefs making it clear that they are willing to sell should the right offer be made.

It is claimed that the Bianconeri are more open to offloading to a Premier League club and, with Dybala out of contract in 2020, City are expected to table a bid of around £21.3m plus a player, or £25.5m up front to get a deal over the line.

Dybala has scored eight goals in 22 outings for Juventus in all competitions this season, five of which have come in Serie A.

TRANSFER RUMOUR: BARCELONA STEAL MARCH ON REAL
MADRID AND MANCHESTER CITY IN PAULO DYBALA CHASE

http://www.thehardtackle.com/news/2017/02/15/transfer-rumour-barcelona-

steal-march-on-real-madrid-and-manchester-city-in-paulo-dybala-chase/

Feb 15, 2017

Barcelona have reportedly stolen a march on Real Madrid and Manchester City in pursuit of Paulo Dybala by signing a secret pact with Juventus.

Spanish publication Don Balon have reported that Barcelona have secured a huge advantage over Real Madrid and Manchester City in their pursuit of Paulo Dybala, with the Spanish giants signing a secret pact with Juventus to bring the Argentine to Camp Nou.

Paulo Dybala’s stock continues to rise in Italy and Europe. He is currently one of the indispensable figures in the Juventus dressing room, with the Bianconeri constantly depending on his contributions in attack to blow their opposition away.

The exciting young forward has made quite the impression in Italy for being a player who has dangerous eye for goal and superb skills on the ball. And in over 18 months with Juventus, he has racked up the numbers as well, bagging 31 goals and 14 assists in 70 appearances for the Italian champions.

He has long established himself as a pivotal figure in Massimiliano Allegri’s first team plans and has notched up 8 goals and 5 assists in 24 games in all competitions for the Bianconeri this season.

Celebrating a move to Barcelona? (Photo courtesy – Marco Bertorello/AFP/Getty Images)

Surely enough, his superlative performances in attack for Juventus have seen Dybala spark an interest in him from several clubs across Europe. The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid have all been looking for attacking reinforcements in the summer and were heavily linked with a move for the 23-year-old in recent months.

But, Manchester City were recently reported to have taken the lead in the chase to acquire Dybala, with the Citizens being long-time admirers of the Argentinian forward’s talents.

Sergio Aguero’s position at the Etihad Stadium is uncertain, and with Pep Guardiola possibly looking for a replacement, Dybala looked like the sort of player who fits the description of a hard working forward the Spaniard likes to work with.

However, it now looks like Barcelona are back in the hunt for Dybala and have actually secured an advantage to sign the Juventus forward. This is despite recent reports that Dybala was going to sign an extension, which was later confirmed by Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta confirming the same earlier this week.

Barcelona are comfortable with Dybala signing the new deal as they have managed to secure a secret pact with the Bianconeri. The deal was secured by the Blaugrana’s international soccer advisor Ariedo Braida, and it will eventually see Dybala represent Barcelona when Luis Suarez’s career with the Catalan club ends.

Dybala, according to the report, dreams of playing for Barcelona, and would be the long-term successor for Luis Suarez. If these reports are indeed true, Barcelona could well have pulled off a massive coup by securing a deal for a player who is being touted for big things.

Dybala: ‘Juventus renewal is close’

http://www.football-italia.net/98411/dybala-‘juventus-renewal-close’

Feb 15, 2017

Paulo Dybala confirms he is “very close” to a Juventus renewal, and assures “the will is there on our part”.

The forward has been in talks over a new contract for some time, but there has been concern that he has not yet put pen to paper on an extension.

“We’ve very close to the renewal,” Dybala revealed in an interview with Sky.

“There’s very little missing. My agent will come to Italy to talk about the last things with [Giuseppe] Marotta, but the will is there on our part.’

Dybala has often been substituted in recent weeks, could he break Alessandro Del Piero’s record of being subbed 19 times by Fabio Capello?

“They’ve told me about that. Maybe I’ll start asking to be subbed, because it’s not easy to beat his records for appearances and goals - so if I keep getting taken off at least I’m in with a chance of this!”

Dybala: ‘Porto will be very difficult’

http://www.football-italia.net/98412/dybala-‘porto-will-be-very-difficult’

Feb 15, 2017

Paulo Dybala knows Porto will be “a very difficult game for Juventus”, and believes Napoli can hurt Real Madrid.

The Bianconeri return to Champions League action next week when they travel to the Estadio Dragao, and the Argentine international is expecting a tough test.

“We have to think of Palermo now, then afterward we’ll switch on to the Champions League,” Dybala told Sky.

“We’re expecting a very difficult game, with a very noisy stadium. I asked [former Porto defender] Alex Sandro about it and he confirmed that it won’t be easy.”

Palermo visit Turin on Friday night, a game of special significance for ‘La Joya’, as he joined the Old Lady from the Rosanero.

“I experienced many emotions with Palermo. The worst was the relegation in my first year, but later it was nice when we got back to Serie A.

“That was the most beautiful experience I had in Palermo, with an incredible party and the enthusiasm of the fans.”

The 23-year-old is now playing in more of a number 10 role for Juve, after Coach Max Allegri switched to a 4-2-3-1.

“With the change of system, I’ve grown in terms of helping the team,” Dybala said.

“I need to drop a bit deeper, as Allegri has asked me not to get caught between the lines. There are a lot of us in attack which means there’s limited space, so I have to go deeper and play with the midfielders or look for pockets of space.

“Gonzalo Higuain? He thanked me for the assist I gave him against Cagliari, but he always does. Personally I’m lacking a few goals, but I’ve created chances for others.

“I was a bit unlucky against Crotone and Inter, but I’m playing well for the team.”

Finally, Dybala was asked about this week’s Champions League fixtures, with Paris Saint-Germain thrashing Barcelona last night, and Napoli at Real Madrid this evening.

“It was more about PSG than anything Barça did wrong. They pressed very high and scored some beautiful goals.

"Napoli? It will be a good game, and Real won’t have it all their own way. Everyone thinks it will be easy for Real, but Napoli play good football and absolutely won’t make it easy.”

'Dybala is the new Messi and worth €150m' -
Zamparini hails Juventus forward

The Palermo chief has offered his ex-player words of encouragement
ahead of the clash between Palermo and the Turin side on Friday.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/723/serie-a/2017/02/17/32770592/-

Feb 17, 2017

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini feels Paulo Dybala has what it takes to follow in the footsteps of Barcelona star Lionel Messi and believes the Juventus forward is worth €150 million.

Zamparini brought Dybala to Italy in 2012 - signing the Argentine forward from Instituto - and he became a key figure at Palermo before earning himself a €40m move to Turin in 2015.

Dybala has received some criticism in recent weeks for his lack of goals, but Zamparini feels it is "crazy" to downplay the attacker's performances as he prepares to take on his former team in Serie A on Friday.

"Whoever criticises Messi is crazy. We are talking about the new Messi. He will become a player like Messi and he is already at that level," the Palermo supremo told Tuttosport.

"Ok, he does not score as much as last season, but he is always man of the match for Juventus whenever I see him play. He is the type of attacker who plays for the team and puts others in the position to score.

"I would say he is worth €140 or €150 million. Like I said, he is the new Messi. I have been saying that he is destined to become a star ever since he arrived at Palermo.

"I hope he will stay at Juventus. I think they can hold on to him. But of course there will be approaches. World-class players are always coveted by everyone. But I hope he will stay at Juventus for a long time."

Dybala has netted eight times in 24 appearances in all competitions this season.

Dybala 'shines bright like a diamond' to celebrate Rihanna's birthday

The Juve striker showed his appreciation for his 'queen' online, sharing
a photo of the pair together as he wished her well on Twitter.

Feb 20, 2017

Juventus take on Porto on Wednesday in the Champions League, but Paulo Dybala has taken time out of his preparation to celebrate the birthday of his favourite pop star.

The 23-year-old Argentine forward made headlines this week after being compared to compatriot Lionel Messi, with the Palermo president singing his praises.

Maurizio Zamparini brought Dybala to Italy from Argentina, and has claimed that the 'new Messi' is worth €150 million.

Dybala has other things on his mind, however, and re-shared a photograph he had taken with Rihanna to celebrate her 29th birthday.

The Juve attacker posted the picture, complete with the caption "Lovely memories! Shine bright like a diamond. Happy birthday queen!"

‘Dybala can be among world’s best’

http://www.football-italia.net/98673/‘dybala-can-be-among-world’s-best’

Feb 21, 2017

Paulo Dybala “can be among the best in the world”, according to Juventus teammate Gonzalo Higuain but “he has to be left alone”.

The Argentine pair have formed a formidable understanding in the Bianconeri attack, and Pipita was asked about his compatriot in an interview with La Stampa.

“He reads the game very well,” Higuain said.

“In fact, he sees football the way the great players do, although he’s very young. I hate comparisons, so I say that Dybala must become Dybala, someone who has the potential to be among the best in the world.

“But he has to be left alone.

“Our partnership? Sometimes he wants to shoot and for me it’s no problem. Sometimes he shoots, other times I or another teammate does it. We’re paid to get goals.

“Palermo on Friday? I had a defender holding onto me, and I thought about dragging him to the goal with me, then I saw Paulo coming.”

Higuain has six goals in his last six games, but he insists it’s not solely down to the switch to 4-2-3-1 from 3-5-2.

“I was scoring before too. I just had to get used to it [the 3-5-2], it’s the first time I had played that way.

“They played 3-5-2 for years, and now the Coach [Max Allegri] has had the courage to change it, thinking about what suits the players.

“We have a Coach, and these things are up to him. We just have to try to play our best.”

When Juventus had a mini-flurry of contract extension announcements, one where the club locked up one of their best players (Leonardo Bonucci) as well as one of their best prospects in years (Daniele Rugani), there was one question sitting on everybody’s tongue. “Yeah, okay, so when will Paulo Dybala get his contract extension?” It was something we figured would happen, but we didn’t know when.

We could very well be reaching the end point now.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday morning, Juventus and Dybala have, at long last, agreed to a contract extension through the 2020-2021 season. That contract extension, one that has been talked about for what seems like the entire 2016-17 season, will see Dybala’s annual salary go into Gonzalo Higuain territory at €7.5 million — tied for joint-top with his countryman and the highest a player at the club has ever received in-season.

An announcement could come as early as today. You know, the same day that Juventus faces Napoli in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinals.

Out all the players that have been rumored to be in line for a contract extension, Dybala has almost certainly atop the list when it comes to the most deserving of one. Even with rumors of a potential move to Barcelona or Real Madrid or some other place where he would cost somebody a whole lot of money, Dybala has never wavered when it comes to where he wants to be. And that’s at Juventus.

Signing Dybala to a contract extension won’t mean the transfer rumors suddenly disappear. Lord knows that they only got more and more frequent in the months after Paul Pogba signed his deal and then moved onto Manchester United. The good thing is that Dybala isn’t appearing in commercials and turning social media into a one-man marketing campaign. Go ahead and check out Dybala’s Twitter page. You’ll find a guy who is a pretty good teammate and somebody who quite likes being at Juventus.

Dybala: ‘Renewal is close’

Paulo Dybala assures talks are “very advanced” for his Juventus renewal.

The forward has been in talks with the club since November, but so far there has been no announcement of a new contract.

However, the Argentinian international assures he will put pen to paper soon.

“In recent days Juventus and my agent have been able to talk,” Dybala said, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We’re very advanced, but now my agent will return to Argentina for the birth of his son. I know we’ve been talking about this since November, but it’s not only up to me, you should also talk to Juventus.”

Paulo Dybala's planned Juventus renewal has been put on hold once again, but the forward remains confident a new deal will be announced sooner rather than later.

The Serie A champions have long-since been keen to extend Dybala's existing contract in order to reward him for his fine performances since joining the club from Palermo in 2015.

Juventus were hoping to wrap up talks and announce Dybala's renewal in early March, but the 23-year-old's representative has flown to Argentina to attend the birth of his son meaning talks have been postponed for the time being.

"My agent has had to return to Argentina for the birth of his son," Dybala told reporters.

"That means we will have to wait for a bit longer, but I remain optimistic, the renewal will come.

"It does not just depend on what I want, but we also have to listen to Juventus."

Dybala's existing deal is due to expire in 2020.

The forward has been a key figure for Juventus this term, scoring 12 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions.

Juventus, Paulo Dybala in ‘advanced’ talks over contract renewal

What’s better than relying on the Italian press for information?

Well, hearing from the player himself, for one.

At this rate, Juventus and Paulo Dybala are inching toward a contract extension rather than crossing the finish line in authoritative fashion. There will be no sprinting to the finish line, no kind of close photo finish that may or may not see something happen.

We know Juventus and Dybala are going to be agreeing to a contract extension at some point. We’ve been hearing it will happen for months now. And now, just a couple of days after the latest report saying that a new deal is done and an announcement is just a few hours away, we have just the slightest bit of clarity on the situation.

Leave it to Dybala himself to gives us the update, too.

"Juventus and my agent have met in recent days and they have had the chance to talk," Tuttosport reports Dybala as saying. "Talks are at a very advanced stage, even though my agent now has to return to Argentina because his son is about to be born.

"But everybody is positive and we are certain that the renewal will arrive. I know we've been talking about it since November, but it doesn't only depend on me. You need to ask Juventus too."

(Source: ESPN FC)

We haven’t just been hearing about Dybala being close to a contract extension, but it extends all the way back to October when the player himself confirmed that a new deal was going to be taking place at some point.

Who knows why the negotiations have taken as long as they have. Maybe it’s salary figures, maybe it’s bonus figures, maybe it’s the fact that Dybala is a wonderful player and wants to be paid what he feels like he deserves or maybe he wants some kind of exclusive rights over the marketing of Dybala Masks. I don’t know. I’m not sitting in the Juventus offices with Beppe Marotta, Fabio Paratici and Dybala’s representative while they hammer out details of a deal we all want to see announced so this is over and done with.

But the good thing in all of this is that things are “advanced” and that everything Dybala says about the situation is positive. Why do I say that? Because Paulo himself said it. He’s a nice young man, so I’ll take his word for it.

Real Madrid Still Believe They Can Land Juventus’ Dybala

http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2017/03/real-madrid-

still-believe-they-can-land-juventus-dybala/

While Paulo Dybala remains a key figure at Juventus, Real Madrid aren’t giving up on their hopes of landing the Argentine this summer.

The former Palermo forward has garnered widespread attention since joining the Bianconeri last summer, with his tally of 19 goals in 34 Serie A appearances helping the Turin giants claim a fifth straight Scudetto.

As a result Juventus have taken steps to extend Dybala’s contract, but with the two parties having yet to reach an agreement, the door remains open for a possible switch to Madrid.

The Argentine’s recent activities on social media has stoked those flames, as the striker recently liked a post that Cristiano Ronaldo recently posted on his Instagram account.

While it’s unlikely a simple like will dictate Dybala’s future, it certainly has added to Real’s belief that they will be able to land the talented 23-year-old.

Juventus currently top the Serie A standings, eight points up on nearest rivals Roma with 11 matches remaining.

Juventus forward Paulo Dybala is
looking frustrated - Gennaro Gattuso

Gennaro Gattuso has expressed concern over Paulo Dybala's body language, saying he believes the Juventus forward does not look happy.

Gattuso, currently working at Serie B club Pisa, was Dybala's coach at Palermo and said he believed his former player cut a "frustrated" figure.

"Dybala's had a different expression on his face for the past four or five weeks," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"He looks really frustrated, as if something is on his mind. He doesn't have a happy face.

"I coached him at Palermo and everybody who knows him knows he's a very fun-loving lad, which is why this surprises me."

Dybala was due to sign a new contract with Juve in December but has still not done so despite saying that talks were "very advanced."

Reports have linked him with a move to Barcelona next season, and Gattuso said: "I think he feels he is less of a key figure [at Juventus].

"He has had an injury and he does look like he's not at his best physically. He's a player who usually burns up the field when he sets foot on it.

"He's both quick-thinking and quick-minded, but this is something that I've seen less of recently."

Juventus are sweating on the fitness of Paolo Dybala after the forward was forced off with an injury against Sampdoria on Sunday.

The 23-year-old Argentina international was taken off after just 28 minutes in the Serie A clash, appearing to clutch his thigh in pain, although he was able to walk off the pitch.

With a Champions League quarter-final encounter with Barcelona to come in April, Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri will hope that the injury is not too severe.

The first leg will be played at Juventus Stadium on April 11, with the second leg scheduled for April 19 at Camp Nou.

Dybala has been a key player for the Bianconeri since his arrival from Palermo last season and he has contributed his fair share of goals this term.

After hitting 23 goals last year, the attacker has bagged a total of 14 goals in all competitions this season so far, including two in the Champions League.

Reports in Spain claim Barcelona are pushing for Paulo Dybala, despite his impending Juventus renewal.

Both player and club have confirmed that a renewal for the Argentinian forward is close, though so far there has been no official announcement.

Despite this, Mundo Deportivo is reporting that Barça identified Dybala as a top-class addition to their attack.

The Catalan newspaper also claims that Dybala is keen on the move, though he would not come cheap.

However, it’s thought the Bianconeri consider the 23-year-old is unsellable, and won’t part with him for any price.

According to calciomercato.com, the new contract should be signed in the coming weeks, and Juve are not even slightly worried about losing Dybala.

Indeed, he could be offered the number 10 shirt for next season, the legendary jersey worn by Alessandro Del Piero, Roberto Baggio and Michel Platini.

Juventus are reportedly confident they’ll have Paulo Dybala available after the international break.

The forward went off in the first half of the game against Sampdoria with a thigh injury, but Coach Max Allegri was reassuring after the match.

La Joya then flew to South America for Argentina duty, and will be assessed today to determine whether or not he’ll be fit for the games with Chile and Bolivia.

According to TuttoJuve, the Bianconeri are optimistic about Dybala’s condition, and it’s not thought the injury is a serious one.

He should therefore be available to face Napoli after the international break.
