JUVENTUS - GALATASARAY October 2, 2013 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Viktor Kassai (Hungary) Conte worried by Mancini factor Oct 1, 2013 Juventus boss Antonio Conte has conceded that he would have preferred to take on Galatasaray without Roberto Mancini as his opposite number. http://markting10.nl/ The latter was confirmed as the Turkish club’s new Coach on Monday following the decision to replace Fatih Terim. “I’m happy for Mancini, but I would have preferred to not meet him tomorrow because he will create problems for us,” Conte stated ahead of the Champions League clash. “With his arrival we will have no tactical reference points with regards to how they will play and that will make things more difficult for us.” http://markting10.nl/ Wednesday’s game at the Juventus Stadium is already crucial for both sides as Juve drew their opener 1-1 in Copenhagen, while Galatasaray were demolished 6-1 at home by Real Madrid. “The match between Galatasaray and Real Madrid is one that should not fool us,” the tactician added. “The final score was excessive. “We didn’t take our chances against the Danes. It was one of those days. We have to play well against Galatasaray. “We’ll look to score in a number of different ways, even with long-range efforts. The important thing is to create chances. “We have to play with an intense rhythm and we’ll do our all to win – even if we know it will be tough. That’s why I want our fans to be a twelfth man tomorrow. I want our supporters to be heard.” http://markting10.nl/ Turning to team matters, Conte has doubts over the fitness of Carlos Tevez after he suffered an ankle problem in the derby win over Torino. The former midfielder will also have to decide whether Paul Pogba or Claudio Marchisio will make up the midfield alongside Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal. “I’ll take a look at Tevez over the following hours. He didn’t train yesterday. I need precise guarantees, we’ll see how he is between now and tomorrow. “Mirko Vucinic? He has been suffering with a heel problem, but he has recovered and is doing well. I’ll see tomorrow whether he will start. “Pogba or Marchisio? It’s a doubt I will look to solve by evaluating things well. The final score will tell me whether I was right or wrong.” Conte was also inevitably asked about his post-match comments following the derby win, ones which annoyed Toro. http://markting10.nl/ “I don’t think there is anything to add. Juve have won the Scudetto twice and two Super Cups in the last two years, so it is normal that I become sort of a catalyst when I say trivial things, normal things based on facts. “It is not a problem, it has happened in the past and it will happen in the future. I’ll continue down my own path and say the things which I believe.”

JUVENTUS - GALATASARAY October 2, 2013 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Viktor Kassai (Hungary) Mancini: 'Juve a happy coincidence' Oct 1, 2013 New Galatasaray Coach Roberto Mancini admits it’s “a happy coincidence” his first game will be against Juventus. http://markting10.nl/ The former Fiorentina, Lazio, Inter and Manchester City boss signed a three-year contract on Monday, taking over from Fatih Terim. He’s set to make his debut on the bench in tomorrow night’s Champions League match at the Juventus Stadium in Turin. “It is a happy coincidence to meet the Bianconeri first and it is a great challenge to prepare for this game in just one day,” Mancini told the Corriere dello Sport. http://markting10.nl/ “I am happy with the choice I made, as the atmosphere is different here in Istanbul. It’s a wonderful and intriguing challenge for me at a big club. I am convinced this was the right choice.”

Carlos Tevez doubtful for Galatasaray clash Sep 30, 2013 Juventus striker Carlos Tevez is a doubt for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Galatasaray in Turin due to an ankle problem. http://markting10.nl/ The Argentina international sustained the injury in the first half of Sunday's 1-0 Serie A derby triumph at Torino following a heavy challenge from Ciro Immobile. Tevez needed stitches to patch up the wound on his right ankle and is now facing a race against time to face the Turkish side. A statement from Juventus read: "Carlos Tevez sustained a lacerated and contused wound on his right ankle. "The striker's condition will continue to be assessed over the coming hours, but he remains a serious doubt for Wednesday night's Champions League game against Galatasaray." Tevez, who is Juve's top scorer this season alongside Arturo Vidal with three goals, was furious that Immobile was not sent off. Tevez shared several photographs of his injury on his Twitter account and tweeted a comment that read: "It's only a yellow card for the person that almost broke my ankle." JUVENTUS - GALATASARAY October 2, 2013 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Viktor Kassai (Hungary) Preview: Juventus vs. Galatasaray Sep 30, 2013 Juventus will be eager to earn their first Champions League win of the season on Wednesday when they entertain Galatasaray in Group B. http://markting10.nl/ The Italian champions are unbeaten in their last eight matches in all competitions, but they could only draw 1-1 with FC Copenhagen in their European opener two weeks ago in Denmark. Galatasaray, who were thrashed 6-1 by Real Madrid last time out, will have Roberto Mancini in the dugout for the first time after the Italian was appointed as their new manager on Monday. The former Manchester City boss replaced Fatih Terim, who was sacked on September 24 following a third spell in charge of the Turks. http://markting10.nl/ The big injury news is that Carlos Tevez is unlikely to feature for the hosts due to the ankle problem that he picked up during Sunday's 1-0 win over Torino in Serie A. JUVENTUS - GALATASARAY October 2, 2013 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Viktor Kassai (Hungary) UEFA Champions League Preview: Juventus v Galatasaray Sep 30, 2013 Managerless Galatasaray will aim to bounce back from their 6-1 loss to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League when they visit Juventus. http://markting10.nl/ Fatih Terim paid the price for a poor start to the season that has yielded just one win in five league matches, as well as the disappointing showing against Real in front of their home supporters. The Super Lig champions were outclassed by the Spanish giants in the Group B opener, with Cristiano Ronaldo once more stealing the show with a second-half hat-trick in the comfortable rout. http://markting10.nl/ Roberto Mancini is widely expected to take control at the Turk Telecom Arena, with the Turkish outfit confirming on Sunday that they were in talks with the Italian. The 48-year-old has been out of work since parting company with Manchester City in May. Galatasaray head into the fixture at the Juventus Stadium on Wednesday on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Rizespor. Engin Baytor opened the scoring, but Tevfik Kose levelled in the second half before Slcuk Inan saw red. Midfielder Hamit Altintop continues to be plagued by a hip injury and is likely to miss the visit to Turin. Reigning Serie A champions Juventus will be desperate to claim a maximum haul after a disappointing 1-1 draw away to Copenhagen in their opening fixture. http://markting10.nl/ Antonio Conte's team are in good form ahead of Wednesday's showdown, and are on an eight game unbeaten run in all competitions. They will look to build on the momentum from their 1-0 victory over rivals Torino at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday, with Paul Pogba's second-half header securing the points. The France international has now set his sights on the Champions League, and said the side are itching to atone for their surprise draw against Copenhagen. Speaking to Tuttosport , he said: "We know it will be an important match for us, we have to win it and we know it won't be easy. "I don't know if it will be decisive for qualification, but after the draw with Copenhagen we all want to win." http://markting10.nl/ Juventus could be without influential striker Carlos Tevez after he picked up an ankle injury against Torino following a robust challenge from Ciro Immobile. The Argentinian has notched three times in the league for the Turin outfit since his transfer-window move from Manchester City.

Mancini has been out of work since being sacked by Manchester City over the summer, but was quickly approached by the Aslan after they released Coach Fatih Terim. http://markting10.nl/ The former Sampdoria forward will be announced as the new man in charge, the paper suggests, but it is not clear whether that will be in time for the Champions League clash with Juventus on Wednesday.

JUVENTUS - GALATASARAY October 2, 2013 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Viktor Kassai (Hungary) Sneijder a doubt for Juve clash Sep 30, 2013 Galatasaray playmaker Wesley Sneijder is a doubt for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Juventus, reports suggest. http://markting10.nl/ Turkish daily Hurriyet have claimed that the Dutch midfielder underwent a scan this morning after feeling a pain in his leg during Sunday’s League match with Cakyur Rizespor. And it is believed that the former Inter man is unlikely to be it enough for the game in Turin on Wednesday. The same paper meanwhile, has reported that Didier Drogba, who trained separately from the rest of the Galatasaray team this afternoon, will be fit to face the Bianconeri.

JUVENTUS - GALATASARAY October 2, 2013 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Viktor Kassai (Hungary) Pogba: Now let's beat Galatasaray Sep 30, 2013 Paul Pogba is now focused on Galatasaray after he scored the winner in Juventus’ 1-0 derby victory over Torino. http://markting10.nl/ “We know it will be an important match for us, we have to win it and we know it won’t be easy,” the midfielder told Tuttosport. “I don't know if it'll be decisive for qualification, but after that damn draw with FC Copenhagen we all want to win.” The Old Lady warmed up for the Champions League clash on Wednesday with a hard-fought local derby which Pogba played a crucial role in. “I’m happy that it was my goal which decided the game, it was one of the most important which I have scored,” he added. “But the important thing was to win and the whole side deserves praise. “They were defending with 10 men, we needed to change. The time has come for us to invent something to unlock these games sooner. Right now nearly all of the teams try to defend against us. “Torino were very closed, we struggled to break the deadlock, there really wasn’t a lot of space when they all lined up in defence.” Pogba is in his second season in Turin and he’s been the club’s most used player so far this term thanks to his 700 minutes of action so far. “I have no problem in playing in any position,” he explained. “I’ll play as a full-back, the striker or in goal in order to play alongside these champions. “The Under-20 World Cup was important, as is the French national side, but living with champions at Juventus is even more essential. “I’m gaining experience, I’m growing and that is pleasing. I have no intention of stopping.”

JUVENTUS - GALATASARAY October 2, 2013 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Viktor Kassai (Hungary) Chiellini on Juventus defensive Sep 30, 2013 Giorgio Chiellini was happy with Juventus’ defensive display against Torino after a shaky start to the season. http://markting10.nl/ The Old Lady had conceded in each of their previous five games before the 1-0 over city rivals Toro at the Olimpico on Sunday. “We have to improve in certain aspects,” the Italian international commented to the Corriere dello Sport. “We’ve conceded a few goals this season thanks to a lack of focus from ourselves, even if we have managed to win almost all of our games. “Saying that, against Torino, we ran no risks at all at the back.” Juventus have played eight official games this season, winning six and drawing two. They’ve scored 16 goals and let in five. The Old Lady will face Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday and Milan in Serie A on Sunday.

JUVENTUS - GALATASARAY October 2, 2013 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Viktor Kassai (Hungary) Tevez doubtful for Galatasaray clash The attacker could miss the upcoming match versus the Turkish champions after picking up an ankle injury at the weekend. "During the first half of Sunday afternoon’s Serie A encounter with Torino, Carlos Tevez sustained a lacerated and contused wound on his right ankle," a statement on the official Juventus website reads. "The striker’s condition will continue to be assessed over the coming hours, but he remains a serious doubt for Wednesday night’s Champions League game against Galatasaray." This evening Mancini flew in to Istanbul to complete the paperwork and the official Galatasaray Twitter account released a photograph of the Italian sitting with Chief Executive Lufti Aribogan. Mancio’s first match in charge will be on Wednesday night, when Galatasaray visit the Juventus Stadium in Turin for the Champions League. Among the players at his disposal in Turkey are Wesley Sneijder and Didier Drogba.

Chiellini: Juventus must improve in defence The defender feels the Bianconeri will fall short domestically and in Europe if they fail to address their current problems at the back. Sep 30, 2013 Giorgio Chiellini has stressed that Juventus must improve in defence if they are to be successful this season. http://markting10.nl/ The Italian champions kept their second clean sheet of the Serie A season in this weekend's 1-0 victory over rivals Torino, but Chiellini feels they still have plenty of room for improvement at the back. "We have to improve in certain aspects," the 29-year-old told Corriere dello Sport. "We’ve conceded a few goals this season due to a lack of focus, even if we have managed to win almost all of our games. "Saying that, against Torino, we ran no risks at all at the back."

TORINO 0 - 1 JUVENTUS Paul Pogba (54′) September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee: Silvio Mazzoleni Attendance: 15000 Conte revels in battling Juventus derby win Antonio Conte praised his Juventus team for breaking down an organised Torino side in their 1-0 victory in the Turin derby on Sunday. Sep 29, 2013 Paul Pogba scored the only goal of the game in the second half at the Stadio Olimpico, extending Torino's 18-year wait for a Serie A victory over their rivals. http://markting10.nl/ The winning goal came in controversial circumstances as Carlos Tevez, who appeared to be offside, headed against the crossbar from close range before Pogba nodded home the rebound. But the visitors were generally good value for the victory and created more clear-cut opportunities than their opponents. And Conte was particularly pleased with the way his side maintained their focus. "It's not easy to win here and we're delighted that we've managed to do so," Conte said. "We were more alert and precise than we have been in other games, shutting Torino out in spite of their ability on the counter. "We produced a little less going forward. Credit to Torino, they're well organised and it's tough to find space in behind." Conte also revealed that he made tactical changes throughout the match in order to counter specific threats from Torino. He added: "I switched Pogba and Vidal. Vidal was closely marked by Omar El Kaddouri and Paul was able to use his physical attributes to better effect. "I also went to a four-man defence after we scored because I didn't want to leave three on three at the back." http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

TORINO 0 - 1 JUVENTUS Paul Pogba (54′) September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee: Silvio Mazzoleni Attendance: 15000 Torino vs. Juventus (0-1): 6 Things We Learned Sep 29, 2013 Juventus won another Derby against city-rivals Torino. http://markting10.nl/ A solitary strike from Paul Pogba was enough to give Antonio Conte's side their third successive victory in the league after dropping points at Inter. The winning habit is still there, but the Bianconeri have not put in a sensational performance since their demolition of Lazio. Galatasaray await midweek in the Champions League. The Old Lady will have to be more efficient in their performance to kick-start their European campaign after a disappointing draw in Copenghagen. Defensive tactics from Torino almost worked, but too much pressure falls on the shoulders of Alessio Cerci. Giampiero Ventura's side continue to be stubborn and resilient, but they are badly lacking that extra spark in the final third and when Cerci is unable to produce some magic, they look completely lost. Here are six things that we learned from the Derby. Giovinco Is a Shadow of the Player We Saw at Parma Against Torino, Sebastian Giovinco had a rare opportunity to stake a claim for a more permanent role in the Juve lineup. "Formica Atomica" started alongside Carlos Tevez in a partnership that appeared to hold much potential. With Carlitos scurrying into the space behind the opposition's defence, holding onto the last man, combined with Giovinco's winding dribbles and tendency to slip his strike partner in with his vision, it appeared as if Antonio Conte might have stumbled across an effective partnership. But Giovinco frustrated throughout, holding on to the ball for far too long, dribbling away from Tevez and being blocked out by a crowd of Torino shirts. The 26-year-old is a shadow of the player he once was during his time with Parma and an inability to make the right decision is holding him back as he attempts to make it at the next level with the Old Lady. With close control and the ability to shift his weight from one side to another, due to his low centre of gravity, Giovinco should be a valuable member of this Bianconeri side. "Atomic Ant" tends to fall over and crumble when faced with a physical confrontation, is in stark contrast to a more determined player that we saw under the guidance of Pasquale Marino, Franco Colomba and Roberto Donadoni. Time is running out for Giovinco to convince Conte that he merits a regular place in the team and the Bianconeri might be convinced to sell if there is not a drastic change in his form. Paul Pogba Cannot Be Dropped Right Now Paul Pogba in this form is undroppable, which is good and bad for Conte. On the one hand, he gives Conte a superb midfielder capable of contributing at both ends of the pitch and knitting together the team's transitions from defence to attack. The 20-year-old does pose a slight problem, though. While the Frenchman is in the side, Conte must decide whether to play both Claudio Marchisio, coming off his recent injury. Conte also has Andre Pirlo, who sat out the Torino encounter with the Galatasaray match high on his agenda. If all four midfielders, including Arturo Vidal as well, are to start for the Bianconeri, Juve will be heavily reliant on Carlos Tevez in a lone-forward role. A switch of formation may begin to creep into Conte's thoughts as Mirko Vucinic is one of his favourites, while Fernando Llorente is gradually staking a claim to start regularly, too. Pogba's form is nothing short of remarkable though and on current form, there is an argument to suggest he is Juve's best player at this moment. Ventura's Tactics Worked, Despite Defeat Giampiero Ventura's tactics must be applauded, even though the result did not go his way in the derby. The Granata basically fielded a 5-3-1-1, with Alessio Cerci in the hole behind Ciro Immobile. There was license for Danilo D'Ambrosio and Matteo Darmian to push forward and offer support in the wide areas, but these are ostensibly full-backs. By starting deep, D'Ambrosio and Darmian prevented Stephan Lichtsteiner and Kwadwo Asamoah from reaching the byline and producing crosses across the six-yard box. Toro were happy for Juve's wide men to drive crosses in from deeper areas as Carlos Tevez and Sebastian Giovinco faced tough aerial battles against the three centre-backs Kamil Klik, Guillermo Rodriguez and Emiliano Moretti. Giuseppe Vives, Matteo Brighi and Omar El Kaddouri were able to provide a screen in front of the defence and forced Juve to try their hand at adventurous through passes. The fact that the opener came from a set piece is telling, as the Bianconeri were unable to conjure up any substantial chances from open play, predominantly due to the organisation and tactical discipline instilled by Ventura. Immobile Is Not the Right Type of Striker for This Formation Ciro Immobile relies heavily on sharp movement off the last line of defence and clinical finishing mostly inside the penalty area. Ventura is currently using him as a lone striker, with Alessio Cerci looking to support him in a more reserved role. The problem is that Torino's play can be rather predictable. The centre-midfield trio rarely vary their distribution because Immobile is incapable of holding the ball up against top centre-backs such as Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli. Everything is therefore directed into the feet of Cerci, meaning that the opposition can prejudge this by surrounding the Azzurri international. A more physical striker with the ability to move both ways would be ideal, somebody in the shape of German Denis, who would be able to also take advantage of Cerci's delivery from wide areas with that aerial advantage. Juve Missed Pirlo's Passing Variety Juventus rested Andrea Pirlo ahead of the Champions League next week, but a combination of stifling tactics from Torino and the absence of a pace-setter disrupted the Old Lady's flow and ability to stamp their authority on this match. The Bianconeri possess plenty of quality in the midfield without Pirlo, with Arturo Vidal, Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio offering a midfield trio that would be looked on by the majority of Europe with an envious eye. But that trio lacks a leader, somebody capable of organising the midfield and distributing both short and long to adapt to the negative tactics of the opposition. Pirlo is the orchestrator, as much as the play maker. The derby showed us that it's Pirlo's intangible skills, as much as his ability on the ball that makes the Bianconeri tick. Tevez Needs More Continuity in Attack Carlos Tevez had an off day against Torino and when Galatasaray come to Turin next week, the Argentine will need to be more clinical in front of goal. Carlitos could not find his range in the derby, aiming several shots into the stands and never really threatening Daniele Padelli's goal. If Conte is to field four centre-midfielders due to the excellent form of Paul Pogba, Juve will require Tevez to be red hot in front of goal to compensate for the lack of an additional striker. The Bianconeri are controlling games with their formidable midfield, but they require Tevez to take his chances in front of goal, or opponents will continue to deploy similarly negative tactics to the Granata. Whether Conte tries a 3-6-1 formation or continues to provide El Apache with a partner, Tevez needs continuity. The season is still young, but Tevez will eventually need to build an understanding on a regular basis with one of Juve's other striking options. Fernando Llorente, Mirko Vucinic, Fabio Quagliarella and Sebastian Giovinco would all be competing for that second spot in the attack if Juve continue with a 3-5-2 formation. If Conte continues to rotate these four strikers, it will hinder Tevez's consistency in front of goal. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

TORINO 0 - 1 JUVENTUS Paul Pogba (54′) September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee: Silvio Mazzoleni Attendance: 15000 Tevez: 'Immobile nearly broke ankle' Sep 29, 2013 Carlos Tevez and Juventus hit back at Torino via Twitter, as the Derby della Mole continues via social media. http://markting10.nl/ The game ended 1-0 to the Bianconeri today with a Paul Pogba goal that should’ve been ruled offside. Torino released a statement on their club website this evening attacking Coach Antonio Conte and comments on the refereeing decisions. Tevez hit back on Twitter with this picture of his swollen and bloody ankle, an injury caused by Ciro Immobile’s tackle. “We always win with help, so that’ll be why someone who nearly breaks my ankle only gets a yellow card...” wrote the striker. Juventus also responded to Torino counting the possession statistics by listing some of their own. “Effectively we’re not good at mathematics. But we can count to 0, like the number of shots on target Torino had!” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

TORINO 0 - 1 JUVENTUS Paul Pogba (54′) September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee: Silvio Mazzoleni Attendance: 15000 Toro: 'How does Conte count?' Sep 29, 2013 Torino released a statement slamming Juventus Coach Antonio Conte after the controversial Derby della Mole. http://markting10.nl/ Juve won 1-0 with a Paul Pogba goal that should’ve been ruled offside, while both clubs complained they wanted red cards for Ciro Immobile and Claudio Marchisio. Following Conte’s post-match comments to the media, Torino released a statement bitterly criticising the Bianconeri Coach. “How does Conte count?” began the statement on the club website. “At the end of the Derby Antonio Conte declared, responding to those who asked about the goal on which Carlos Tevez was clearly offside, said ‘Juve held the ball and attacked for 70 minutes. Therefore it’s normal there are going to be more incidents to discuss.’ “One has to ask what Conte’s using to count possession, seeing as the statistics on the Lega Calcio website show Juventus had 52 per cent possession against 48 per cent for Toro. The Juventus superiority was therefore not particularly crushing. “Another of Conte’s comments: ‘Immobile’s foul was worthy of a red card. What would’ve happened had Toro been reduced to 10 men?’ “Was Immobile’s foul really worth a dismissal? In which case the Granata would have the same question, what would’ve happened had the identical foul from Pogba on Omar El Kaddouri been sanctioned with a red, or the second yellow that Claudio Marchisio deserved? “The truth is that Juventus won the Derby 1-0 and that the only goal was with a very clear offside position. Anything else is just pointless words. Conte must certainly have been better at Italian than mathematics.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

Tevez 'at risk for Galatasaray' Sep 29, 2013 Juventus released a statement warning Carlos Tevez is “a big risk” to face Galatasaray due to Ciro Immobile’s challenge. http://markting10.nl/ Immobile raked his studs down the back of Tevez’s ankle during today’s Turin Derby, which Juventus won 1-0. The Torino player was only booked for the foul, though Coach Antonio Conte insists he should’ve seen red. “During the first half of the game in Turin, Carlos Tevez suffered a strong trauma, with a cut, to his right ankle,” read a statement on the club website. “His condition will be evaluated over the next few hours, but his availability for Wednesday’s game against Galatasaray is a big risk.”

TORINO 0 - 1 JUVENTUS Paul Pogba (54′) September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee: Silvio Mazzoleni Attendance: 15000 Ventura: 'Toro could've done more' Sep 29, 2013 Torino Coach Giampiero Ventura admits they “could’ve done more” in the 1-0 defeat to Juventus. http://markting10.nl/ The Granata are without a Derby della Mole victory since 1995 and haven’t scored in any of the last 15 editions. “There were teams on the field with different qualities,” Ventura told Sky Sport Italia. “We were able to be aggressive against Juve last season, but this time round we have a different structure. We limited Juventus and they had very few opportunities, though we should’ve done better in possession. “Juventus are the best side we’ve faced so far. It’s difficult to be aggressive against their defence.” There was controversy on both sides, as Ciro Immobile and Claudio Marchisio risked red cards, while Paul Pogba’s winning goal was offside. “I couldn’t see the offside from my bench and I had hoped it was not a mistake. I am satisfied with the way we defended, though we could’ve done more in attack. “Aside from this performance, we cannot cancel out the fact we could’ve easily won against Milan and Hellas Verona. We deserve more points than we have.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

TORINO 0 - 1 JUVENTUS Paul Pogba (54′) September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee: Silvio Mazzoleni Attendance: 15000 Pogba refusing to dwell on derby win The Frenchman is already turning his attention to Wednesday's Champions League clash with Galatasaray after scoring the winner against Torino. Sep 29, 2013 Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has told his team-mates not to dwell on their 1-0 derby victory over Torino on Sunday. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri kept up their unbeaten start to the 2013-14 Serie A season with a narrow victory over their city rivals, with the Frenchman bagging the only goal of the game. However, they face Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday and Pogba is already thinking of the clash with the Turkish champions. "Now we’ll concentrate on the Champions League. We drew the first game, so it’s fundamental that we win on Wednesday night," he told the club's official website. Reflecting on the trip to the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday, Pogba said that his side were made to work hard for all three points. "It was a difficult game but we’re all happy with the victory and reclaiming top spot, even if momentarily." Juventus will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing draw with Copenhagen when they host Galatasaray on Wednesday. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

TORINO 0 - 1 JUVENTUS Paul Pogba (54′) September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee: Silvio Mazzoleni Attendance: 15000 Conte fumes at Immobile challenge Paul Pogba nodded home a controversial winner in Sunday's derby with Carlos Tevez in an offside position, but the Juventus coach believes the Argentine was lucky not to be injured. Sep 29, 2013 Antonio Conte was furious that Ciro Immobile escaped a red card for a challenge on Carlos Tevez during Juventus' 1-0 win over Torino in the Derby della Mole on Sunday. http://markting10.nl/ Paul Pogba nodded in a controversial winner in the second half, with the Frenchman reacting first to a rebound after Tevez had headed against the crossbar when in a clear offside position. However, rather than consider his side fortunate to be awarded the goal, Conte believes the Argentine was fortunate to be on the pitch following Immobile's lunge earlier in the game. "I was told Tevez was offside for the goal, but he also risked his ankle on Immobile’s challenge before that," the Bianconeri boss told Sky Sport Italia. "He suffered a serious cut to his ankle and who knows how it might’ve ended if Toro had gone down to 10 men. Immobile should’ve been sent off. "Mistakes can happen for referees and it is inevitable that debatable incidents will occur, but the team played well and took the initiative throughout." Conte felt his side were worthy winners of a tense encounter at Stadio Olimpico after Torino set their stall out to contain the Italian champions. "There was only one team that looked for the victory and that was Juventus," he continued. "Torino sat back and waited, even after going a goal down. It’s a difficult League and our opponents change their whole approach to limit us rather than play their own football. "We were much more attentive and didn’t allow Torino anything, despite their excellent players they had on the counter-attack. Compared to previous games, we brought back the three-man defence that performed so well last season. "Torino are tactically well organised and use a very defensive system, but in the second half as they got tired the spaces started to open up a bit." Andrea Pirlo was rested for the clash ahead of Juventus' Champions League meeting with Galatasaray, but Conte insists his side have enough strength in depth to cope with continual rotation in a busy period of fixtures. "Pirlo is unique and inimitable, so without him we lose some quality and gain in physicality. I had to rotate the squad with so many games coming up, but I have faith in them," he added. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

TORINO 0 - 1 JUVENTUS Paul Pogba (54′) September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee: Silvio Mazzoleni Attendance: 15000 Pogba delighted with 'difficult' derby victory The Frenchman nodded home the only goal of the game on Sunday to seal maximum points for the Italian champions but has urged focus ahead of the Champions League return. Sep 29, 2013 Paul Pogba was relieved with Juventus' 1-0 derby win over Torino in a tightly-contested affair at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday. http://markting10.nl/ The Frenchman scored the only goal of the game in the second half, to leave Torino looking for a first Serie A victory over their city rivals since 1995. But the goal was not without controversy as Carlos Tevez headed against the crossbar from two yards while seemingly in an offside position, with Pogba nodding home the rebound, although the former Manchester United man was simply happy to head into their Champions League commitments next week off the back of a victory. "It was a difficult game," he commented to reporters. "We're all happy about claiming all three points and returning to the top of the league. Now we'll focus our attentions on the Champions League. "We drew the first game so it's vital we beat Galatasaray." http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

TORINO 0 - 1 JUVENTUS Paul Pogba (54′) September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee: Silvio Mazzoleni Attendance: 15000 Player Ratings Goal took in the derby action at Stadio Olimpico, where Paul Pogba's goal in the second half gave the Bianconeri all three points and shot them back up the Serie A standings. Sep 29, 2013 Torino Daniele Padelli - Could hardly help the Juventus goal, and did what was expected with the otherwise routine tasks required of him. Emiliano Moretti - Draped himself around Carlos Tevez on the corner that led to the goal, but was unable to stop the forward from getting a header in, though he may have been offside. Guillermo Rodriguez - A real rock right at the heart of the Torino defence, mopping up danger without a moment's hesitation. His clearing header to deny Tevez the ball from inside the six yard box was particularly important. Kamil Glik - Had a very speculative effort at goal from near the halfway line that predictably failed to worry Gianluigi Buffon. Otherwise, he did his job well at the back. Danilo D'Ambrosio - Came close to converting Torino's - and the game's - best chance of the first half from a set-piece. Not much to speak of offensively, but he did put in a good shift in his own half. Omar El Kaddouri - Took the brunt of the aggression from Juve's committed midfield, but to his credit, he never stopped trying to drive the ball forward. He also managed to draw two yellow cards, one for Claudio Marchisio and one for Paul Pogba. Faded badly in the second half though. Giuseppe Vives - After a shaky start where he coughed up possession like a bad cold, the midfielder steadied himself to erect a formidable barrier in front of his defence, breaking up play with impunity. Matteo Brighi - Though he expended a lot of fuel chasing play around the pitch, the game still seemed to pass him by on occasion. Did not really have an effect on the final result. Matteo Darmian - He was rather hit or miss out wide, as he found it hard to fashion an opening for his side. But like Danilo D'Ambrosio on the opposite flank, he was very diligent defensively. Alessio Cerci - Though he flashed one free kick agonizingly wide of the top corner, he was otherwise a little lethargic on and off the ball, though in fairness his service was lacking. Ciro Immobile - His major contribution of the first half was to leave Sebastian Giovinco with a painful reminder of his stud size, with a late challenge that earned him a yellow card. Contributed little otherwise. Substitutions Salvatore Masiello - Provided a serviceable job in defence, replacing Rodriguez for the second half. Looked a little short of pace at times, though. Riccardo Meggiorini - Could not provide any kind of offensive input for the home side, as the match drifted beyond his reach. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus Gianluigi Buffon - Barely had a meaningful touch of the ball all game long as Torino created almost nothing in the way of chances. Andrea Barzagli - Went about his business in a confident manner, marshalling the defence well and communicating with the rest of the backline regularly. No slip-ups from him today. Leonardo Bonucci - Virtually unbeatable in the air, as he showed a real nose for the ball on set plays and longs punts forward - as shown by his glancing header which led to the only goal. Like the rest of the defence, he was spot on in his tasks. Giorgio Chiellini - His usual indomitable self at the back, first to every ball, and not allowing the opposition forwards an inch of useable space. Stephan Lichtsteiner - Motored up and down the right flank, and though his final ball was found wanting, he still showed plenty of appetite for getting involved in the build-up play. Claudio Marchisio - Picked up a yellow card for a sliding challenge and could thank his lucky stars that he did not see a second booking for an identical infraction. Otherwise, he was his usual bundle of activity. Paul Pogba - Never lost his poise in midfield, helping out admirably in his own half and proving efficient, if not overly dynamic, on the ball in attack. He struck the all-important goal in the second half with a close range finish from a corner to give his side the points and derby bragging rights yet again. Arturo Vidal - Looked completely up for the blood and thunder of the derby, refusing to surrender an inch in midfield. Played a strong part in closing out the game in the second half. Kwadwo Asamoah - Provided a lot of energy out in wide areas, but could not come up with the end product to help his side in attack, despite being presented with a few opportunities to do so. Carlos Tévez - A more reliable option up front than the embattled Sebastian Giovinco, as his touch and tenacity made him a solid outlet for the home side. Worked hard to close out the game late on. Sebastian Giovinco - Took a bit of a battering from the physical Torino defence, and he could not shake that off, as his offensive contributions were severely stymied. Shot his one great opening straight at the keeper from point blank range. Substitutions Simone Padoin - Helped to solidify the left flank in the closing stages. Mirko Vučinić - Hardly had a touch in his short spell on the pitch as, by the time he arrived, Juve's focus has shifted to protecting their narrow lead. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

TORINO 0 - 1 JUVENTUS Paul Pogba (54′) September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee: Silvio Mazzoleni Attendance: 15000 Juventus remain kings of Turin Sep 29, 2013 Juventus continued their strong start to the Serie A season as Paul Pogba's solitary strike secured a 1-0 victory over city rivals Torino. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri came into the weekend unbeaten and kept up the pressure at the top of the table thanks to Pogba's second-half header. Torino, without a win over Juve since 1995, never looked in danger of breaking that unwanted record and produced few chances of merit over the 90 minutes. It's been 11 years since Torino have scored a goal against Juventus, and the hurt continued with Sunday's Derby della Mole. Meanwhile, Juventus finally scored first in a match and held on to secure victory to keep up with the rest of the contenders in Serie A. Yet despite the superior quality of their play, all Italy can focus on is the controversial manner in which Juventus have won another game: with an offside goal. As seems to be the norm when playing the Bianconeri, Torino, like Chievo Verona before them, played a defensive game. Sitting deep, congesting the area and closing down the space, their aim for the game was to stop Juventus from playing through the middle. The Old Lady, in response, remained patient. Circulating the ball from side to side until she felt comfortable enough to play through the spaces, but it was proving difficult to penetrate the Granata defence. Such a patient game only serves to make Andrea Pirlo's absence more keenly felt. There was little creativity and lots of imprecise passes forward, and the tempo was poorly controlled. Paul Pogba may be capable of doing it all in midfield, but he seemed wasted when deployed so deep with the attack sorely missing his pace and timely insertions at the top. Interestingly, last season, Juventus had two versions of themselves depending on which of the duo they opted to play. When Pirlo was on the pitch, Juventus dominated proceedings, rotated the ball and patiently waited for excellent passes to unlock defences. When Pogba was deployed instead, the Old Lady played a quicker game where acceleration was key, intensity was heightened and the game was based around overwhelming the opposition. Against Torino, Juventus played a Pirlo game without the player there to actually influence proceedings, when they ought to have played a quicker and more intense game. This only served to highlight the perfection of Torino manager Giampiero Ventura's game plan, as Il Toro succeeded in stifling Juve's attack, halting the intricate passing in the middle and forcing Juve wide. Crosses into the box were hardly a problem for the home side when there, in the middle for Juve, was little Sebastian Giovinco. Giovinco, for all his tenacity and eagerness to impress, suffers with the Juve shirt. Whilst we must acknowledge the many fouls he suffered that should have been punished, he is a player lacking in strength. It remains an easy task to snatch the ball away from him, and he's easily overwhelmed. His clever movements and at times good positioning should be complimented, but when his shots are always aimed at the goalkeeper (much like last season), he quickly reminds his critics of his many deficiencies as a forward. Of course, one must also feel for the player, as Juve's game in the first half was slow and revolved around crosses and long balls. With a quicker game, Gio would have broken free from his markers, and with short and low passes, he could have made more of an impact. That sort of game played by the Old Lady required the presence of Juve's other forwards, namely a certain Fernando Llorente. In the second half, Juventus returned with greater motivation and looked determined to push through to get a result. And so, they did. A perfect delivery into the box saw Carlos Tevez hit the crossbar before Pogba scored. Replays show Tevez was clearly offside and the goal should not have counted, yet once again Juventus won a game in a controversial manner -- even if they deserved to be in the lead. Torino, rather than opening up to have a go at scoring themselves, remained faithful to their tough defensive game for much of the second half, really looking threatening in only the final minutes of the match. Silly fouls and individual errors denied them of any real opportunity at goal, but their courageous game came too little, too late. Tevez was once again the Bianconeri's outstanding performer. His mobility, ability to play between the lines and strength in shielding the ball make all the difference for Antonio Conte's men, as does the team's ability to maintain possession when closing out the match. This may not be a dazzling Juve, but it's one that's doing the job for now, especially when considering the heavy schedule. Galatasaray are next. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

TORINO 0 - 1 JUVENTUS Paul Pogba (54′) September 29, 2013 12:30 PM Stadio Olimpico — Turin Referee: Silvio Mazzoleni Attendance: 15000 Torino vs. Juventus: Score and Grades Sep 29, 2013 Paul Pogba scored the only goal of the game as Juventus continued their Serie A dominance over neighbours Torino. http://markting10.nl/ But the 54th-minute goal came with controversy after Carlos Tevez appeared to be in an offside position as he headed against the crossbar from two yards out before Pogba pounced on the rebound. The result saw Juve maintain an 18-year unbeaten league run against their Turin rivals, who rarely threatened. The first half was a disappointing affair, punctuated by several yellow cards for hefty challenges and one opportunity on goal for Torino. Danilo D'Ambrosio rose highest inside the Juventus penalty area to connect with a free-kick, but headed over with just Gianluigi Buffon to beat. But Juve were a far different proposition in the second period with Tevez playing the central role, controlling the game for the Serie A champions. Juve broke the deadlock in the 54th minute when Tevez headed against Daniele Pandelli's crossbar from just two yards, but Pogba was on hand to head home the rebound. However, television replays showed the Argentina international was in an offside position. But Juve, ultimately, deserved the three points for the improved second-half display, while Torino disappointed in front of their own supporters with Cerci isolated up front. Player gradings Paul Pogba B Playing in the creative Andrea Pirlo role, Pogba endured a stifled first period. The former Manchester United man seemed off the pace and unable to open the Torino backline. He was on hand to head home the only goal of the game, much to the relief of teammate Tevez, who had missed from just two yards out with his header. Pogba found greater influence in the second half and Manchester United supporters can be forgiven for asking why the Old Trafford club allowed him to leave. Carlos Tevez A Tevez was on the end of one severe challenge during the opening 45 minutes which saw Ciro Immobile cautioned for raking the former Manchester City forward's ankle. The Argentina international was always looking for the opportunity, but a lack of creation saw him stymied up front, paired with Sebastian Giovinco, in the first half. The second period was a different story, however, with Tevez finding the space to puncture the Torino defence. He might have been embarrassed to miss a header from two yards out, but Pogba spared his blushes by slotting the rebound. His positional sense remains fabulous and running a match from the position of forward is no mean feat, but comes naturally to Tevez. Danilo D'Ambrosio B+ D'Ambrosio went closest for Torino in the first period when his header flew wide of Buffon's goal. But the Torino defender was always seeking a chance to move forward and dealt well with the attacking threat of Juventus. The switched to right-back for the second period seemed to be a positive move for the player, who prefers that position. But D'Ambrosio's attacking influence was negated by an improved Juventus display. Alessio Cerci B- Torino's leading goalscorer was not allowed a chance to shine in the opening half, but was always on the look-out for an opportunity to create space for himself and teammates. Cerci found himself cast adrift at times against the Juventus back three, with Immobile required in a deeper role for Torino. Cerci really found space only in the dying embers of the game and it took a crude challenge from Tevez to deny him a late chance of a run on goal. Ultimately, though, this was a game Cerci will want to forget swiftly after making little impact as his teammates appeared to sit back. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
